15 Toys To Get Kids Thinking

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! I know two posts in one day, crazy pants right? But hey when you're on a roll, you're on a roll! Being an engineer, I love toys that get kids thinking, and wanting to learn more about how things work. Baby Fox is always curious as to how things work and wanting to know more, so I've put together a list of educational toys to get kids thinking and wanting to learn more. I've broken this gift guide into sections for easier navigation.

Building Toys

There are so many building toys out there but I found the ones that I think are going to get your kids loving building and learning more and using their imagination to think outside of the box.

Snap Circuits

I think this is one of the coolest building/learning things. Being an electrical engineer, this gives a "recipe book" for kids to build simple circuits, like a radio, light bulb and such.  This one is for younger kids, with simpler circuits.

Marble Fun Run

What is more fun that creating a track and letting a marble run through the track that you just created. So many possibilities, showing kids reactions of different pathways.

Klutz LEGO Chain Reactions Craft Kit

I love that you add this to your child already growing Lego set and it gives them other ways to use them, now they can create chain reactions with their Legos.

 Creative Plastic Engineering Toys

A fun way to start thinking in a 3-dimensional way.

Edu-Toys Leonardo Da Vinci Swing Bridge

A great way for kids to learn how bridges work and how to construct one.

Magical Model Roller Truck

This toy let's kids build something in 3-D, by following an instruction booklet.

Coding/Programming

Coding is something that our future is leaning towards, everything is all about coding and electronics right? Why not start your kids with some fun games, they won't even know they are learning to code!

ROBOT WARS Coding Board Game

There is no prior coding needed, anyone can play this fun game. Teach your kids some life long lessons while having fun in the process.

Python for Kids: A Playful Introduction To Programming

A whole program for kids to teach them how to code. Simple and easy to get your kids thinking of projects and everything that they can potentially create.

SmartLab Toys Room Defender

A fun way for kids to learn coding all while keeping their room safe. Easy instructions to follow, they put it on their door and their coding is what sets it off. Potentially annoying for kids, but what better way for kids to learn coding then seeing what a happens to something tangible in front of them.

Science

4M Magnet Science Kit

A fun way for kids to learn all about magnets with this fun experiment set.

 Thames & Kosmos Physics Workshop

This kit helps kids to understand the basics of physics, by putting together simple models and the kids will learn the basics of physics.

SmartLab Toys Ultimate Secret Formula Lab

A fun kit to help kids learn the reactions when you combine different ingredients together.

Check out some other gifts for young inventors and scientists from Crystal at Penny's and Playdough

Robotics

SmartLab Toys Demolition Lab Triple Blast Warehouse

What more fun for a kid than to build something then have it explode? This fun toy let's your kids build anything they want, and then push a button and it knocks it all down.

Thames & Kosmos Air + Water Power

A fun way for kids to build something that is powered by water and air! They'll love it.

Thames & Kosmos Robotics: Smart Machines Science Kit

This is an introduction kit to robotics, it let's kids build 8 simple robotics to see how it works.

Finding the Perfect Anniversary Gift

This is a sponsored post brought to you by Uncommon Goods. As always the opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

Hello Foxy Friends!  This weekend we are headed to a wedding, which got me thinking, we have very few weddings to attend these days. Mostly it's baby showers, and even then those are few and far between. It's so hard coming up with good gifts these days, whether it be for a wedding, anniversary or new baby. Enter Uncommon Goods, I love that they support artists and designers that are run by the designer themselves and over 50% of what they sell are handmade. I love when I can support someone doing what they love.

When it comes to buying gifts for Mr., I am always stumped and recently have not been getting him anything. Bad I know! I love the unique gift ideas that Uncommon Goods has. Mr. is a music guy, we met when he was in a band, so I think these would be pretty awesome to give him. Him and my uncle are always trying to get notes to play on their wine glasses, this actually might be what I get my aunt and uncle for Christmas. Some unique ideas for the man in your life:

Now for the ladies. Finding an anniversary gift for me is crazy repetitive. I always like clothes and shoes, but one can only buy that so many times? Sometimes it's nice to get something you didn't know you wanted. For me I'm sentimental and like cheesy things like this. Here are a few gifts ideas for the ladies.

And then there are the things that you just want to get for yourself, like this and this. I might have one of those things coming my way. I'll let you know what I think of it, thanks Uncommon Goods for sending it to me!

There are also so many great gifts for hostess gifts for all of those holiday parties coming up! What would you pick out for yourself?
