Style Me Bloggers - How We Share our Home

Happy Friday! Today is one of my off Fridays, so I'm off doing errands with Mini Fox prepping for Baby Fox's birthday party next weekend! Yikes, so much to do...why do I always wait till the last minute?!  Anyway...Back with my Bloggy Besties, for today we decided that we were going to do an exchange. We wanted to share either something from our home with them, or something that reminded us of home, it was really up to interpretation. I decided I was going to help my Bloggy friend decoration her house, head on over to Katie's blog to see what I gave her!

I got a pretty awesome gift from Deena! She decided to send us stuff that we can't get here in the States...she stuffed this thing full of goodies! Look how pretty that card is! I'm fairly certain she used her artist skills for that one. It currently sits on my fridge, so I get to see it everyday and remind myself how talented my friends are.

Let's break down what was in the box:

Her cute note. She decided to send all of the things in Canada that we can't get here in the states, how sweet is that?!

The box was completely stuffed, it was pretty awesome.

A closer look at everything

I can tell you that all of the candy went FAST! The kids begging for candy, haha!

We opened the Kinder Eggs the next day and I took a video for you Deena.

Mr. ate the chips the next day. Funny story, when we were up in  Tahoe there was someone there from Canada and we had been talking about our favorite chips. She said if she cold chose any chips she would pick the Ketchup chips from back home. We sort of laughed at her and said really?! Ketchup chips...then a few weeks later we get our very own bag. You better believe I sent her a picture of our very own bag, she was jealous. :) Mr. said they were really good and that he could see why they were her very favorite chip. Deena when you come visit us, don't forget the ketchup chips!

Mr. approved

Thank you Deena for sending such a thoughtful gift to share your home with us! Now go check out what everyone else gave each other.

Don't forget to enter the $200 giveaway to Gap brands, you could get a lot with that!

Style Me Blogger: This Place I Call Home

Back with the Style Me Bloggers for another link-up. This time the subject is where we live. The city I live in is pretty small and dull, I'll instead tell you about all the awesome things around my city. Fair enough?

I can get to the beach in 15 minutes. Actually the palm tree and sky picture was taken by me a few years ago. I was sitting in Laguna Beach on my beach chair, and I happened to look up and a little behind me and I saw how awesome the clouds looked with the palm trees. This picture was upside down. When I got home, and I flipped it around it was better then I could have imagined.

Baby Fox's first time to the beach, he's about 2.5 months old.

Mini Fox's first time at the beach (that I can recall and find a picture of), she's 9 months old

Laguna Beach

Our favorite restaurant in Laguna to take visitors, it's called Las Brisas and the outside seating is perfection, the food is good and the drinks yummy.

On that same note we can head 2 hours east and get to mountains with snow, so we can basically go from the snow to the beach in about 2.5 hours drive time.

Oh how I miss the slopes, we didn't get any snow this year...so we didn't get to go...hopefully next year we can dump have my parents watch the kids and we go snowboarding.

Disneyland is only 20 minutes way. Need I say more?

Baby Fox's first time, he's almost 2.5 and I am about 18 weeks pregnant.

First time taking Mini Fox to Disneyland, she's 3.5 months old.

The weather. I love the sunshine, although I do like snow and the different seasons, I think if I had to chose I would choose nice weather all the time, and visiting the places that have month upon months of cold weather.

January 2013 - Bike riding. Notice even though Mr. is wearing a sweater, he's also wearing shorts.

January 2014 - Washing cars and swimming

January 2015 - Flowers are blooming

I know I've mentioned this before, practically every post, but I love that I can hike, get some exercise  and see the ocean all at the same time. Sometimes I think, some people go their whole lives and never see the ocean and that makes me sad. I hope everyone in their lives gets to see the ocean at one point or another.

I'm going to add another one to the list as an honorable mention. I do have to say we have some pretty good food here too. I always hear people people talking about how good this restaurant was and how good this restaurant was, everything from plain American food, to Persian, to Indian, to Japanese, Fusion Everything, Vegan places, Vegan Japanese places. You name we've got it here. I can't say that I've tried them all out, or any of them really. because of my food allergies, but I know people are always taking about the different foods they've eaten.

So if I haven't convinced you to come visit Southern California yet, I don't know what will!

Oh I just thought of another one!

The Rose Parade is right in our backyard. I know several people who go to it year after year. You can see them up close and personal before the parade even begins. And I can't find ONE picture of us going to see the floats before the Rose Parade. Darn. It seems that I'm missing a bunch of photos...I wonder where they went, I hate when that happens.

Now go take a look at where everyone else lives and see what makes their city so great, but between you and me, I pretty much love where I live! Although I do think it would be fun to live over seas for a year or two.

5 Things I Want to Do This Summer

Another Style Me Blogger link up, this time we're talking about Summer Travel Plans or Recommendations. To be honest we don't have anything planned for summer yet. The last thing we had planned on the books was Big Bear and we did that last weekend. But that doesn't mean I don't have big ideas :) So I'm going to start off with 5 things I would like to do this summer.

Do you see that cute seal on the rocks there?

We never went to the beach last summer, it was just too hard with Mini Fox, crawling but not walking and putting everything in her mouth.  Sometimes I think living so close to the beach, we just take it for granted, that it's so close.  When Mini Fox was born we had gone to the beach the day before:

I'm 37 and 6 days pregnant here, I gave birth the very next day. Crazy to think about.

This year we're definitely going to go to the beach. Just once, but hopefully we can go more often.

When Mini Fox was about 6 months old we took both the kids to the San Diego Zoo, I want to take them to the Zoo again this year. This time I think Mini Fox will enjoy it much more. We will NOT be taking the train, that just makes for  super long day!

He was done taking pictures...can you tell?

As usual we're throwing Baby Fox a Half Birthday. This year he wanted it to be a Spiderman theme. I made this invitation last week and ordered them a couple of days ago. I love that I'm starting to get used to using Photoshop Elements, no more paying people on Etsy for me! If anyone wants this invitation, just let me know! More then happy to just switch out the information.

Of course summer is going to end with Mini Fox's birthday, not sure about her theme yet. We were thinking princess, but is that too obvious? She does like Minnie Mouse, so maybe that...hmm...any fun suggestions?

I think we're going to try to take one over night or two night trip this summer too. Probably to San Diego, while we're there, we know someone on that Naval base, who said he would give us a tour of the base and the ship. When he told Baby Fox about that, he screamed YEAH!!! So I guess it's something he wants to do :)

Last but certainly not least:

Take more pictures with the kids. Just of everyday life. I am so often behind the camera that I don't think to tell someone to take a picture with me...Most of the pictures I have are me taking a selfie with whoever is with me at the time.

Style Bloggers - April Showers (Rain Gear) Bring May Flowers (Floral Trends)

The Style Bloggers are back for another link up series, same people, different topics. Today our first topic is April Showers, Bring May Flowers, I didn't come up with it, but super clever right?

We don't get much rain here, so I thought I would find things that I would want, if we did get rain.

This pink rain coat, I saw it in the store and it's about the cutest thing I ever saw. If it rained here and I had that much money to blow on a rain coat when I would use it...maybe twice a year, I'd be all over this. Trina Turk in Manhattan Beach. I did however buy a super cute workout top, looking forward to having one more thing in rotation, you know so that the three other tops I have get a break.

How cute is this rain coat? I just saw it while browsing through the sale items, trying to see if I could find the workout top I bought. It covers the April showers and May Flowers all in one piece.

And what's rain coats without some rain boots, found here and here.

Now that I found the perfect April Shower and May Flower pieces, why not find some cute stuff to go with it. I thought the pink coat and the flower boots, perfect combination. Add some white jeans a striped shirt, perfect for a Spring outing.

Rain Coat Outfit

I just love this jacket, it's colorful and just makes you happy. For this outfit I thought I would make it a little more sophisticated and go with some black jeans, white button up and a colorful statement necklace.

Floral Spring Outfit

And the last outfit, the polka dotted rain boots, who doesn't love a good polka dot. I found the pants and that top and loved both, but thought, it's a little on the dark side, so I added the light pink jacket and some cute earrings to give it that Spring feel. Oh how I wish it rained here...or got cold for that matter. It was 93° here today (Thursday)...and supposed to 90° tomorrow (Friday).  Oh Winter and Spring, where did you go? I'm not ready for full blown Summer yet.

Spring Floral Outfit

What April Shower (Rain Gear) or May Flowers (Floral Trends) would you pick?

Go check out some of the other ladies and see their interpretation of this prompt is.
