Style Perspectives - Graduation Wear and Hair Challenge Week 20

Today we're styling Sheila's prompt: A graduation outfit, in honor of her son who graduated over the weekend! Perfect right?  But first a recap of last weeks Style Persepctives: A Blazer and Sneakers. Many of us were surprised with how much we loved this prompt, I know it's one of my favorites, and something I NEVER would have put together myself.

I decided to chose my newish (although you've seen it in other posts, but I haven't put it up on a Wednesday, so it doesn't count right?), dress from...I'm not even sure where it's from...

My hair, I love every crown braid that ever was. There's just something so feminine about it, that I love. Perfect for a graduation in my opinion, off the face and you can easily throw it in a low pony tail in case it gets too hot.

I also put together some perfect graduation looks for either the graduate or an attendee. Something about short dresses just screams graduation to me. So most of these looks are very Spring/Summery shorter dresses.

Green Dress* ($48 - 6 colors) // Tank Dress ($48 - 3 colors) // Orange Floral Dress ($138) // Shift Dress* ($88) // Blue Floral Dress* ($46)

Of course here are my hair styles that I've been doing this week.

Friday for Disneyland I wanted my hair up and out of my face...I forgot to take a picture of the front just by myself...so this is what you get, super cheesy faces.

Classic pull through braid.

Saturday, my MIL was in town and we were just hanging out, so I threw it up in my new favorite top knot.

Sunday I did this style, my cousin saw this on IG and wanted me to try it. While it didn't look exactly like the girls hair, it was pretty darn close. I need to get less fly aways, so when I puff out my fishtail at the end, it does what her hair did. Maybe next time.

Tuesday I did my second favorite go to hair..

How are you doing your hair lately?

Now go check out some of the other ladies to see how they styled their graduation look!

Style Perspectives: A blazer and Sneakers and Hair Challenge Week 19

Today we're styling Carrie's prompt: A Blazer, Jeans, Tank and sneakers. When I read this prompt, I was like, huh? Blazers and sneakers?  What is going on? But you know what, I did what Carrie told me to do and I liked it! I got these Converse while in Vegas, actually Deena bought the same pair...because when you're outlet shopping and they have a buy one get one 50% off you find your closest friend...I was more than happy to help out.

Okay back to the outfit. Most of my blazers are darker colors. I do have this one bright blue blazer that I have yet to wear...need to figure out an outfit, I just know it's going to be super cute if/when I figure out how to wear it...Loft sales, you get me every time! Back to the topic...I knew I wanted to use my new pink converse, so I based my outfit around that. Do any of you do that? Decide you want to wear a certain thing and then plan your whole outfit around that. Well that's what I did...I think it worked out pretty well. And it was super comfy, great outfit for a casual date night!

I just love these shoes! Apparently I need to figure out how to cutely model shoes...this is pathetic.

Purple Converse

And here is my hair shots. I really liked wearing my hair like this. Super fun and something a little more fancy than just a plain ponytail, but still felt casual.

In case you missed it, last week was Leggings and a Scarf look by Katie. Here is how everyone styled it, I know for many it was going out of their comfort zone, but I like that everyone tried something new for them. This is what it's all about, trying things you wouldn't normally try.
Onto some hair things. Guess what? Since I was such a failure last week, I upped my game and actually did my hair this week! Okay well I did my hair the same twice...but I still count it. The second time I did the hair style it got better, so I'm counting it. I've seen the small top knot around and thought it was super cute, and Ellie did a video on it, and thought, hey that is pretty easy, so the very next day, small cute top knot it was.

Top Knot

Thursday I just wanted to my hair out of my face, and I love braids, so I braided it in a half crown type thing.

Friday we were off to Disneyland and I just didn't want it all up, so I braided it and tied it back. I love doing this style so much, easy and looks put together. I would like to add, this is after a full day at Disneyland, I forgot to take a picture before we left...so this is after 10 hours...it's a little messy, and I look massively tired.

I thought the top knot was cute, so cute that I did it again on Saturday. It was the perfect style for a 1 year old birthday party. But the second time I did it, I actually tied it with a hair tie for before starting the bun, I thought it came out way better, and not as fluffy. Again I forgot to take a picture before leaving for the day...so 12 hours later and this is what you get.

Sorry for the poor lighting.

Sunday, for Mother's Day I wanted a soft romantic type look, so I did some twists and made it a half crown, sort of like this.

So there you have it, not failing at this hair thing this week. We'll see how I do this coming week...I'm feeling pretty lazy. And I really need a hair cut...like bad! I just can't seem to find the time to actually get one done! Now go check out how every else styled this weeks prompt!

Style Perspectives: Leggings and a Scarf and Hair Challenge Week 18

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends. Yet another week of the Style Perspectives with The Blended Blog! I am loving seeing everyone style the prompts and meeting new people through the link up! Keep 'em coming!

This week Katie is up with her Leggings and a scarf look. This one was really hard for me to do, while I love scarves the weather here doesn't really warrant them in any other season but Winter...and when I say winter I really mean 1 month out of the year. I must admit I took these photos cause I really would wear this, but then thought it wasn't spring AT ALL, then took some more, but the outfit I picked...let's just say I thought I was following the leggings are not pants...but apparently not...not a good look. So here's what I did do :)

Of course you want to see the hair right? For the life of me I can't find the tutorial I did for this hair style...oops. if I find it I'll come back and link it. I think it's super fun and would even be fun with some soft curls. Next time I'll try that, that's if I can find the tutorial or remember how did this!

If you missed it last week, everyone styled a plaid look. Didn't everyone do a great job?

Now onto the Hair Challenge. This week was lame. I just wasn't feeling it this week. Mr. was gone most of the week so I worked from home, which left little desire to even get dressed. The only reason I did, was I had a few doctors appointments, no one wants to see me in my PJ's. So here is the one and only style I did this week from Missy Sue, it's called the Half Up Ladder Braid. I'm fairly certain I missed some pieces, but I was in a time crunch and only had 10 minutes to get it right. next time will be better. It was super fun to wear to the Pentatonix concert! Which I'll be recapping on Friday.

Maybe next week will be better...hopefully. I can do this! Get back on the band wagon!
Are you trying anything new for your hair. Over the next few weeks I'm going to stray from my favorite dry shampoo* and try a new one...I'll let you know how it goes.
