Faux Leather Jacket

One of my best blogger buds, Lisa from Daily Style Finds,  also a fellow The Blended Blogger, gave me this jacket. Like what? How did I get so lucky? Such an amazing friend and so generous. Anyway, it's from Forever 21, and it's sort of edgy/awesome/warm/awesome...did I mention awesome? Thank you Lisa for the jacket.

Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

Exact is not available but here are some similar here and here (in blue, cream and black).

I love the side detailing of the jacket.

There are so many ways that you can zip up the jacket, can change the whole look just how you zip it up.

A little half zip for you. Those buckles at the bottom, so darn cute.

If you are wondering, which you're probably not, but...my fake eyelashes are these and my lip color is the Kylie Cosmetic Lip Kit in Leo.

I tried on several necklaces, but because of all of the zipper details, I thought I would go with some great earrings.

This is definitely something outside of my comfort zone, so thank you Lisa for pushing me to try something new, and hey guess what? I like it!  What have you tried outside of your comfort zone lately?

What Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Foxy Friends! It's another weekly link up with The Blended Blog. Today I'm sharing my leather jacket that I got 2 Christmas's ago, and you know what? I haven't really worn it because the weather had been so nice, but we're actually getting something called a winter now, so I thought I would break it out. It is the softest thing in the whole world, now I just need to find places to wear it. Last weeks polka dot top was so popular that I thought I would share my other polka dot top. Two polka dot tops in a row for the win.  If you can't tell my shoes are polka dot too. Funny story about the shoes, they're actually Jessica Simpson and I saw them several years ago, but the last pair they had had a smudge on them, and I didn't want to pay all that money for a smudge shoe, so I said no and thought I can find them again...fast forward a YEAR later and I finally found them again! I snatched them up so fast.

It's the last Wednesday of the month and I finally remembered to link up with Shay, Mel and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday. Let's get started.

What we're eating this week:

Pot Roast! I'm all about my Instant Pot (affiliate link), you should be too! I was able to make this plus the mashed potatoes all in 2 hours! Instead of the normal 3.5-4 hours. It's nice to be able to make this after work, mid week comfort food is where it's at with this cold weather. Oh and the gravy is the bomb.com! So good, I could eat it by the truck load.

What I'm reminiscing about:

This little lady. She's starting preschool next week...waaahhh!!! How did she get old enough to be in preschool?

What I'm loving:

With my food allergies I hadn't been able to drink wine, I know! Right?! Anyway, after my allergy shots I am now finally able to drink wine. I haven't done any reds yet, but this white wine is soooooo darn good! It's from Costco and it's sweet and tastes oh so good. Notice how there isn't many in the container at Costco? Yep it's that good.

What we've been up to:

Trying to clean the house, seriously it's a mess in here, but I have a plan.

What I'm dreading:

Mini Fox starting school next week, she's so darn excited which is great, but it just seems like the start to the never ending school. No more are the day when we do nothing and have no where to go during the day. She actually starts school 40 minutes before Baby Fox.

What I'm working on:

Cleaning the house. Do you see a pattern here? I'm trying to organize, organize, organize. Next up is this cabinet...

What I'm excited about:

My weekend away with my bestie! It's been FOREVER and it's just the two of us and we're going to have a blast!

What I'm watching/reading:

Well I bought The Magnolia Story...but haven't read it yet, but I'm going to.

Watching The OA and 3%, both are on Netflix and you have to watch both, so good!

What I'm listening to:

Lot's of YouTube...my favorites at the moment. Seriously there are so many amazing artist on YouTube! You find anyone recently?

What I'm wearing:

See above, but here is a better shot of those shoes. I have no idea what I'm doing in this picture, well it was about to rain, so maybe a it might rain, let's get this done picture?

What I'm doing this weekend:

Hanging with the bestie. Provided that Mr. feels better...poor guy, he's not doing so good and it's day 3...

What I'm looking forward to next month:

Utah! Mr. and I are headed to Park City to hit the slopes sans kids and it's going to be so fun! The last time we went was prior to Mini Fox being born, so it's been a while,  I hope I remember how to snowboard! Apparently I can't find any pictures of us, this must change. Although, I think we mostly leave everything behind because it's close to 0° and we think it's too cold for the electronics.

So what have you been up to lately?

Styling Outer Wear

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! 3rd week of our October series over on The Blended Blog. Week 3 brings to us coats and vests...I love me a good jacket and vest.

The problem...today is suppose to be 95° out...we're headed towards the latter half of October and we're still in the 90's. Luckily this will hopefully be the last little push of warm weather and then we'll be headed towards cooler temps. Last week it was 75 and I totally broke out the leggings and booties...

Here is what I want to be wearing, so come next week when the temps are low 70's, I might have to break this outfit out. This vest was from Old Navy last year, and it has a fleece lining...okay so maybe I won't be breaking this outfit out any time soon. But a girl can dream can't she?

I bought this jacket at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale back in July. I fell in love with that pink color and never looked back. Even though I need another jacket like I need a hole in my head...but hey it's pink, it has cute pockets and a nice line...what can I say I'm a sucker for a good jacket. Now...where to wear it.

Pick, Pair, Share and Hair Challenge Week 28

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! Another Wednesday here and another week of Pick, Pair, Share. Have you been participating at all? I hope this has helped you get ready in the morning to come up with some fun creative summer outfits! Here's the prompt in case you missed it.

This week I decided to do create a fun date night outfit using the prompts. Picked the light pink, with a leopard pattern and I'm featuring a skirt. Of course what other skirt would I pick than my tulle skirt? My most favorite date night skirt...maybe ever in the history of the world...

This time I took a rocker ballerina look, is that possible? I'm not sure, but that's how I felt when wearing it, so we'll go with it.

I just love these leopard shoes, they are super comfortable (as comfortable as heels get), and it just adds a little something to the outfit.

I just love how delicate the necklace is with this outfit.

Of course onto the hair, I tried this hair style. It was a box fishtail braid...hard to do on myself, but I think it turned out pretty good. Would love to try it on someone else's hair...any takers?

As far as hair styles goes this week, I was pretty darn lazy I was sick for most of the week, so that makes it hard to want to do anything creative. I did the same half top knot twice and then I did my half braid tucked into the back of my hair...so nothing new to report. Darn, maybe I'll get ambitious again this weekend. Anyway, I was channeling my inner ballerina and trying to twirl while smiling and using a remote control to take the pictures...and well they all turned out horrible. Of course I'm sharing the least offensive one with you. P.S. I was not meant to be a ballerina...I have horrible balance.

If you could chose, what prompts would you pick? Use #theblendedblogstyle to show us what you picked!

Fall Challenge - Week 2

Hello all! 2nd week of the Style Challenge*, and I'm back with 7 more outfits. Well 5 plus 2 outfits that I would have worn had I had the chance. So let's get to it. Here are the outfits at a glance.

Let's break it down:

Day 3

I'm absolutely loving this outfit, but it's just a bit too hot to wear right now, but hey a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, outfits must be put together! I actually followed the outfit formula, unlike Day 1 and 2.  But I will definitely be pulling this one out come colder weather.

Day 4

Love this outfit too! Can we talk about these jeans? I got them during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, so they are no longer available but these* and these* are very similar. They are the most comfortable jeans! They don't pinch at the waist and are the softest jean material ever! I would wear them everyday if that was socially acceptable. I would however, order a size down. I ordered my size and a few hours later I'm finding that I'm hiking up my jeans.

I only have two blazer, one is black and the other one is bright blue, but neither one really worked with this outfit, so I decided to switch it up to my pink leather jacket that I got from Wilson's Leather at the Camarillo Outlet Mall a few years ago. If you can go to a Wilson's Leather at an outlet great deals! I think I bought this jacket for $40!

This little lady wanted to jump in the picture...okay that's a lie she was trying to photo bomb and I scooped her up and tried to get her to take a picture with me. I have a feeling this is what our family photos are going to be like in a couple of weeks, lots of bribery!

Day 5

Loving this* white button down that I bought. Seriously if you have been looking for a white button down look no further! This shirt is worth every single penny, it's a little more than I would normally spend, but it's so soft and doesn't feel still like other buttons downs. I actually want to wear this, instead of just wearing something just to wear it.

I didn't follow the outfit formula again. I don't have a gray cable knit sweater yet, not sure if I am going to get one since I would probably rarely wear it over this white shirt, too hot! But that could be the 100° weather talking, come back in a few months.

So instead of adding the sweater over it, I just added this scarf. I really love the plaid in this scarf, and for the life of me can't remember where I got it.

Day 6

I ordered some olive jeans* (super comfy and on sale for $24.99! The olive color in person is much darker than online), but they hadn't come in the mail yet, so I subbed out for my Camo Jeans. Loving this outfit and will definitely repeat as it gets colder. If you don't have a pair of wedge booties, you have to get a pair! These were from Target a while back and were really reasonable. One day I'll buy the Toms version, but for now, my knockoffs will do.

Day 7

I absolutely love this plaid dress*. When Alison told us a plaid dress would be involved I wasn't sure if I was going to get one. I know that I'm not a red plaid dress girl, but found this black and white one and it's right up my ally.

Not totally sure if I can get away with the length, definitely not with the kids around, but for sure a great night out with the girls or the hubby.

Day 8

This is when I didn't have time to take pictures with the outfits on. So I put together a picture of what I would have worn. I'm actually surprised, I'm not sure I would have paired the olive jeans with that polka dot sweat, but I think it looks great! Apparently the olive jeans like to photograph a little lighter than they are in person, or maybe I need to get my eyes checked, either way this outfit looks great!

In case you were wondering, the outfit formula called for an orange sweater, which I don't have, I've been subbing in this polka dot one and it seems to be working with all of the outfit choices so far.

Day 9

Again I didn't have time to take a photo of this outfit, but I am LOVING my new burgundy jeans (which of course they don't have in stock any more), they are super soft and I can't wait to wear them.

I did sub out the riding boots for these flats, since most likely I wouldn't have worn my riding boots with them. I'm not sure why, but in my head it just didn't make sense. The outfit calls for the grey cable sweater over it, to me that makes more sense to wear the riding boots, but with just the button down, I didn't think so.

There you have it, 7 more outfits brought to you by Alison! Which was your favorite?
