Summer to Fall Transition Outfit

Hi Foxy Friends! What? 3 days in a row? Who am I? Today The Blended Blog is back at it with our regularily scheduled themed Wednesday posts. You don't have to follow the prompts, but if you're running out of ideas for outfits, I find that having a promt helps get my creative juices flowing. I got this dress, because I needed to get to free shipping. I don't like to pay for shipping, so if I can add a few more items to get free shipping, I am all in. I know girl math.

Anyway, I've been wearing this dress non stop since I got it a few weeks ago. For you short girls, this maxi is for you! I'm 5'3", and this maxi is pretty much perfection. I think if you were up to 5'5" it would be good, anything above that, sorry ladies this isn't for you. But if you are looking for a maxi that you don't have to alter or wear incredibly high heels, this dress is for you! You can't see but I'm wearing flat sandals.

A great way to transition maxi dress for Fall a simple jean jacket. You better believe I'll be adding this jacket come Fall. Currently the temp for Saturday is suppose to be 91°F...yikes!

New Twist On An Old Favorite: Jean Jacket

Hi Foxy Friends! Another Wednesday and another fashion post for you all. Today I'm sharing one of the things I got in my Seattle haul when I was up there.

Related: Seattle Vlog

First can we talk about how comfortable this jacket is? I mean it's not only stylish, but it is so soft and comfortable and WARM! I'm always, always cold, and when I grab this jacket, I'm never cold, you know for the 60°F (15°C) weather we are currently having.

Jeans /  Shirt / Boots (Similar)

The sleeves on this jacket are so warm and soft, if it was socially acceptable I would wear this all day everyday. So glad that Abbie made me try it on and buy it. Thanks Abbie for knowing what I wanted before I did!

Thanks for continuing to make this link up a success, now add some fashion posts and meet some new people!

Tulle Skirt + Fun Hair = Girly Outfit

Happy hump day Foxy Friends! Monday I teased you that I was going to show you an outfit showcasing my french braid to top knot hair style. So today is the day, I know you've all been holding your breathe, or not, in any case, here's the outfit. My friend Deena gave me this skirt when we met up in Toronto. So sweet of her to give it to me, and she knows me well and my love for tulle skirts, click here and here for previous tulle looks. seriously can one have too many? I also have a black one. And now I have a teal one, one of my favorite colors, not sure if she knew that, but it is.

I can't even believe the shoes are still available. They are the most comfortable things, and are only $79.95. I wanted to get a pair of black too, so I might just have to with this price!

So seeing these up close hair styles makes me realize how many grey hairs I have...yikes! Might be about time to die my hair, but am I/do I have time to go to the salon every 8 weeks...nope not really, so I'm just going to keep rocking it.

What outfit makes you fee super girly?

Camo and Coral

Hello Foxy Friends! Today I have a two for one. While we were in Toronto and walked a bazillion miles looking at everything Toronto I had a chance to take some photos of my outfit. So get ready to see some photos that are NOT my backyard, I know you're jumping for joy too.

These pants arrived Wednesday before I left for Toronto, and when I put them on I knew I had to work it into my wardrobe. I was going to link them, but it looks like they are all sold out, boo!

and of course I had to do a jumping picture in front of a graffiti wall.

Planning: Currently planning a Mom's Night Out for tomorrow. It got postponed from last week to this week, and now it's turning out that many can't come till later, so I'm thinking about pushing it back 30 minutes. Other then that, not planning much.

Wishing: That I had more vacation time to spend with the kids this summer, but alas I don't, stupid corporate world, not giving us enough vacation time, but I am glad that we have some fun things planned for this summer.

Learning:  How to use my new Cricut. I have several projects I want to do but using new software freaks me out, so I've been avoiding it.

Browsing: All of the fashion things. I mean as soon as I put a self imposed shopping ban on...I find all the things I want. Like this, this and this

Going: To swim lessons. Usually we take the school year off and then start back up for the summer. My mom was a genius and said, why don't you make their lessons for after Baby Fox's karate class, so he'll go to Karate and then swim lessons right after. Perfect timing. I hope Min Fox learns lots. She's pool safe, but she doesn't know any strokes or anything. Baby Fox knows the basics to most of all of the strokes, but we'd like him to become a better swimmer. I think I might be the only parents that sits there and watches the entire lesson. I like to know what they are capable.

The Perfect Maxi Dress Combo + How To Tease Your Hair

Happy Hump Day Foxy Friends! It's the second week of The Blended Blog's Spring Fever. I know some of you are still in the thick of cold weather, but we can dream about Spring right?

By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.
I thought this week I would show you one of my favorite maxi dresses. I actually wore it for our family photos a few years ago, but it's definitely something that can be styled in so many ways. What's more Spring than a white jean jacket?

Dress (Similar) // Jacket (Similar) // Shoes (Similar)

For my hair I decided to go with something super easy, get it's out of my face and looks like a tried just a little bit.

As always, my silly picture...surprisingly this didn't take long to do. Can I tell you how hard it is to get a jumping show when you are using a self timer? I think I almost have the timing down...

We're in the second week of my Hair 101 series, and today I thought I would talk about how to tease your hair. Something that sounds easy, but it's how I get a lot of volume for some of my more complicated hair styles. This hair style I pretty much do on the daily. It's easy, quick and makes you look way more put together then I actually am.

If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see, let me know in the comments down below. I'm working on trying to get Mr. do a hair tutorial on Mini Fox...so far no luck!

How I Styled It - Pattern Mixing

I'm joining in on the how I styled it link up - topic this month is Pattern Mixing. I love pattern mixing, it's so fun and something I totally would not have done prior to the Style Me Challenge with Alison.

I know this sort of is cheating, but it's just too hot outside to get clothes on and go outside take pictures, rinse and repeat. So instead I'm going to show you one dress that has pattern mixing and how I styled it three different ways. Hope you're okay with that.

First up: Just the dress.

I bought this dress at Target during my second challenge. I saw it and knew right away that I had to have it. It's the perfect mix of floral and strips, two of my favorite things.

Next up:

I tied a simple chambray at my waist, and rolled up the sleeves. I love this look, but right now it's just too hot to wear this, but this is a great spring outfit. I think next time I'll add my new vest to the mix.

Last but not least my trusty denim jacket, seriously I wear them almost everyday, it's a sickness. But it's perfect for the morning when I'm leaving for work.

I love the fountain background in these pictures, my parents have the best place to take pictures.

And some randoms:

We're headed to Legoland today! So excited, but it's suppose to be in the 90's, I always seem to pick going to amusement parks on the hottest of days, wish me luck! Last time we went Mini Fox was only 13 months old...she was so tiny!

What you do when you're stuck in traffic and it's your turn to drive the van, everyone is asleep. Shhh, don't tell him I took a picture of him while sleeping, hehe. There are two others in the van who are also sleeping. See look wearing my jean jacket again...

This is just the cutest. I found it on Mr.'s phone after I uploaded all of his stuff onto the computer. Kids are so cute when they think they're hiding from us. I can't see you, so you can't see me mentality is the cutest.

What's your favorite thing to pattern mix?

Simple Outfit + Some Randoms

Sad times here, no more Alison telling me what to wear. But don't fret, the Summer Challenge* is coming in 2 weeks! Come join me and the rest of the ladies as we navigate the summer wardrobe. But for now, this is a dress I picked up at Old Navy. I know, I know some of us Style Challengers said we weren't going to buy anything until the Summer Challenge (which I don't think we realized was going to happen so quickly!) Anyway, they had a buy two get one free clearance items...I had to, right? I found two things for the kids and then couldn't find a third...okay that's not totally true. I did find a shirt for Baby Fox, but it was only $2.50 and I didn't want to waste my free clearance item on something for $2.50. So you see why I had to buy this dress?

It's super comfy and I think it's the perfect dress for the Summer. The eyelets are what gets me, it makes it so I can do this super casual or dress it a up a bit for a GNO, add some cute wedges and a statement necklace, cute cardigan and I'm good to go.

*This is an affiliated link through Get Your Pretty On, I will receive a commission for everyone that buys the challenge through the link.

Onto some Random things lately:
  • Guess what I found on Sunday?! I was unpacking the laptop backpack we have, and apparently I haven't used it lately (or in the last 18 months), because I was going through all the pockets and I freakin' found my lost camera! Seriously, it's been over a year and a half and I found it! It had some great picture on it that I thought were lost. I can not believe that I found it! I even bought the same one off a fellow mom in my area, so now I have two of the same camera. The way I look at it, you can never have enough cameras. I am constantly running from room to room trying to find my camera. Now I can keep one in my purse all the time and one around the house, perfect. You have no idea how happy that made me.
  •  This whole no shopping thing is hard. Enough said, The girls said that they weren't going to shop till the Summer Challenge, not realizing it's this month, I told myself I wans't going to shop until the Nordstroms Anniversary sale, usually around the beginning of July. I can do this! I guess I'll have to shop my closet for the Summer Challenge*.
  •  The outfit posts from here on out will be with my new Canon 70D camera! I can't wait to start using it. So far I absolutely LOVE it!
    • Side Note: Costco has all of the Canon DSLR's on a great sale, if you're thinking about getting one, I highly recommend that you go through Costco, best deal I found out there. (nope this isn't a sponsored thing, I just thought it was a great deal)
    • Another Side Note: Can you tell I love cameras?
  • I'm still having issues with my video editing program, Adobe Premiere Elements. Mr. thinks he figured out the problem. We'll see, I'm going to test it out this week/weekend. I'm still going to do the Vlog I took at the beginning of the month, I have the footage...it will only be 3 weeks later, but hey a day is a day right? You'll still watch it?
  • Last thing while out getting dinner on Thursday we were walking to the grocery store to pick up some Hummus to go along with dinner, and he always has to stop by the dance studio to watch all of the ballroom dancing. He's been doing it since he could walk, get ready So You Think You Can Dance 2030, we're coming for you!

What are you randoms today?

Spring Outfit and Some Randoms

Happy Wednesday, hump day, I only have one more day of work and then off for 3 days, woo hoo! This is an outfit I wanted to put together for a while. I finally got the nerve to wear it. I tend to sway towards A-Line dresses, so this maxi dress is definitely out of my comfort zone. But the jacket really helped out a bit on the comfort level.  I wish I had taken pictures of my cute new sandals, but forgot. I was trying to get the pictures, while keeping the kids out of the pool.

We took these pictures in about 3 minutes, and this is how many times and directions Mini Fox walked in and out of the pictures. She's so cute.

On to some randoms for the day:

  • My fitness update: it's sort of taken a back seat in light of our trips to both Tahoe and Santa Barbara, but we're back on track this week. Luckily I haven't fallen too far off course. I'll check back in next week, I think I might be backing off a little on being so strict with it, it was making me way grumpy and just totally unhappy at times, especially on the weekend when I didn't have meals planned and there was no food in the house. I'll keep you posted.

  • Loving these pictures that we got while we were gone.

  • I just got an email from Picaboo (photobook site) and they are having unlimited free pages for the price of a book, so I could have up to 160 pages for $45, that's a pretty good deal! Deal ends on Monday at midnight PST, so if you're wondering where I am for the next week I'll be behind my computer trying to get 160 pages worth of pictures in. Looking back at pictures like this:

I just can't believe how little my babies were. Now I'm going back to working on my photobook...I'm doing my picture a day for Mini Fox's first year of life...I'm in the beginning of October, 11 more months to go! Pray for me.

Hope you are all having a great week!

Next week we're starting the Style Challenge, it's not too late to sign up*. Come join us you won't regret it! If you are reading this and are a part of the challenge, link up with us every Wednesday to show us your your Spring Style.
