Easter Baskets

I'm straying from my usual fashion post to bring you all thing Easter basket. But feel free to hop on over to The Blended Blog to add your fashion/beauty posts. Today I'm linking up with some fabulous bloggers and we're all sharing our kids Easter Baskets. The good thing about this, is that it actually got me to finish Easter Basket gathering last weekend, instead of the day before...so thanks Jessica for setting this up!

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

I knew that I wanted to have matching baskets for my kids, so I waited until the second was born so I could buy them the same. I didn't want to buy one and then not be able to get a second one to match. Crazy I know. Anyway, I got them at Pottery Barn Kids, this is the basket (except they made it better and it now has a swinging handle) and these are the different liners you can buy for it.

Way back when Baby Fox was celebrating his first Easter, I realized all of the fake green grass was totally plasticy and not nice, so my mom and I searched high and low for the green grass we used to get as kids...and we finally found it at a small boutique near my parents house...and it wasn't for sale, but she sold me some anyway, so we use this every year. I'm crazy.

Truth be told I totally went overboard with the gifts and Mr. told me to rein it in. So I cut back a lot, and only added things that could fit into the basket, which is probably how it should be. The rest that I bought I'm saving for a rainy day.

Let's break down

Baby Fox's basket

Mini Fox's Easter Basket:

Elena of Avalor Night Gown
Frozen Night Gown
Princess Jasmine Outfit
Who Was Amelia Earhart? (on sale for $2.99 - it's a whole series and it looks like they are all on sale)
Swedish Fish
Mary Poppins (50th Anniversary Edition)
Sees Candy Milk Chocolate Bunny
Sees Candy Butterscotch Lollypop

Things I got but am not going to use:
Princess Tiana Dress
Princess Rapunzel Dress

Candy I bought to put in the eggs:

Swedish Fish Jelly Beans (Do we see a Swedish Fish obsession going on?)
Mars Candy Assortment
Sees Candy Jelly Beans
Sees Candy Sour Bunnies

I typically will buy candy I like, beause we all know that we're the ones that eat it, no way my kids are eating this much sugar, haha! Hence the Sees Candy stuff. Typically my kids are all over the candy for day 1 and 2 and then by the 3rd day they lose interest and never ask for it again. Last Halloween, their candy bags were sitting on our kitchen table for a good 2 weeks before I decided they were over it and threw it all away, not before taking out the good stuff though.

So what did you get your kids for Easter? Do you buy good candy too, so you know you'll like it...or maybe you buy bad stuff so that you won't be tempted to eat it? Either way, can't wait to see what you got your kids! Come back tomorrow where I'm going to be talking Easter traditions.

Lego Wall Display

Hello Foxy Friends! This year I decided that it was going to be the year of organization, I gave you an update here, so I thought I would share another project. It's been slow going, but over the weekend we got another project done. Our problem was that once Baby Fox finished a Lego set we had no where to put them. Then his friends would come over and destroy them and then we would spend approximately a bazillion hours trying to put it back together. I"m going to give Mr. full credit here, we talked about it, but he got it done. Found the shelves, ordered the Lego plates and installed everything. I just took pictures, and held up a measuring tape, and told him where to put the shelves and the plates. Let's get started.

Material:

Shelves (White and Yellow)
Brickyard Lego Plates

Optional: Spray Paint (color of your choice)

Directions:

Step 1

Decide where you want to put your shelves on your wall. We decided on getting 6 shelves to fill the whole space up.

Step 2

Measure a whole lot and figure out where each shelf is going to go.

Step 3

Start drilling holes and hanging shelves. Get some cute little helpers along the way.

Step 4

Have the kids decorate the Lego plates to keep them busy.

Step 5

After hanging all of the shelves, take the ones off that you want to paint. Baby Fox wanted all the white shelves painted green so Mr. bought a can of green spray paint that roughly matched the Lego color green. I forgot to take a picture of this, but our garage floor might remember that painting for a while, hehe.

Step 6

Once paint dries hang up all of the shelves and the Lego plates. We did make the Lego Plate removable, so he could change them out if he wanted to.

I just love the way that it came out, so perfect for him, and now he has a place to store his Lego sets and the wall has something on it. He used to have his baby quilt up there, but when we took that down earlier this year, it was so blank. I'm happy that something now lives in that empty space. Thank you Mr. for making this all happen. (Can I tell you how much it bothers me that there are two greens in a row...I couldn't convince him to switch it...)

Friday Favorites #111

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! I have today off and a friend from college and her two kids are visiting us right now. I'm so excited to see them, they used to live across the country but recently move to my same state...although still a 6-7 okay 8-9 hour drive with kids and traffic. Okay on to Friday Favorites.

In case you missed it this week...I've actually posted everyday this week, including the weekend, say what?:

Saturday: $200 Amazon giveaway - go enter!
Sunday: My Marriage In Numbers - random facts in numbers about me and Mr. Happy 12 Years to us!
Monday: Spring Time Fun
Tuesday: 14 Karat Cake
Wednesday: Black Floral and My Favorite Hair Products
Thursday: Sentence A Day: March Edition

I'm trying to do a video a week for you guys, this week I took a break on my hair tutorials to give you my favorite hair products. I've gone through a lot to find what works for me. So I'm telling you what they all do and how to use them!

Last Thursday I went to a MNO, and it was wonderful, some girls came that hadn't been able to come in a while.

Yep we stayed so late that we were the only ones left. I just love the lighting in here, so glad that the waiter caught that in the picture.

Sunday was full of baseball and soccer. I think he could be the cutest little catcher.

Saturday night we went out to celebrate Mr. turning 40, my uncle turning 70 and my and Mr.'s 12th wedding anniversary, there was lots to celebrate.

Our view

Yum dinner!

Then they told us they were going to bring out dessert for celebration and then set this down...what the what?

Then this came out, how nice of them to give that to us!

So glad to have such great relatives that go to fancy dinners with us.

And what do you do after you eat a fancy 2 hour dinner? Trader Joe's of course. In case you are wondering the lipstick is the new Velvet Lip Kit from Kylie in Rosie.

Sunday we went to church and then headed to the mall to return some stuff and meet up with friends, while Mr. studied and got some homework done. The kids wanted to get pictures with the Easter Bunny.

While at the store I decided to pick up some real kernals to make some popcorn, I haven't done this...probably since before me and Mr. got married, I was a little rusty...but it turned out great, and it brought back great childhood memories of my mom making a big bowl of popcorn and us with our little plastic bowls going to get more.

Speaking of plastic bowls, those bowls I used to use as a kid...no these aren't them, but we still have them, they are currently in the play kitchen.

Linking up with The Blended Blog for some Friday Loves.

Mackensey and Danielle started a new series called Tuesday Outtakes where we get to post all of those pictures that we want to post on the blog and didn't get the time or had to number how many we posted. So here's your chance to do just that! How awesome is that? I missed it this round, but so doing this on May 2nd.

Okay guys do you know Carrie from A Stylish Fit? Yeah...girl has it going on. She's 53, turning 54 in August and this is what she does? I'm super impressed and motivated to do that too.

This year I am trying to branch out and meet more bloggers and join different link ups. I just discovered Anne from  Anne In Residence and she hosts a monthly currently where she gives you the topics to talk about.

I like when people tell me what to do, then I don't have to think as much, just answer questions someone asked me. I can do that. Next month her guest host is Nancy of NY Foodie Family and the questions are:

bakinglisteninglovingplantingremembering

Some randomness for you. Can I say I have shoe envy of my Mother In Law? If only she were my same size....and lived closer...

From dinner last Saturday, the plate was so hot it was making the food sizzle.

We were in Costco on Sunday and look what we found...yep that's real.

Mr. and I are 4 episodes deep into 13 Reasons Why and so far it's pretty darn good. I highly recommend it, it's on Netflix. I see binge watching the rest of it over the weekend.

Oh my goodness you guys! Can we say make up dream?! I'm not a beauty youtuber or anything, but seriously go to 3:40 in the video for the custom make up drawers. So pretty. Love watching the whole process on how they came up with everything. Perfection, I'm telling you.

PSA, in case you get kidnapped....basically lesson learned here is to always wear shoes with shoelaces.

This couple is too cute, love them and how they can be so silly with each other.

Hope you all have a great weekend! Doing anything fun and exciting?
