Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! Happy hump day! Super easy outfit today, a swing dress with this necklace that I absolutely fell in love with the moment I saw it. For me summer has been all about he swing dress. This is actually the first year I've bought one, or maybe 5...but who's counting?
Isn't the necklace so fun, I'm not sure what draws me to it, the only down side, is if you have a big head, it probably won't make it. I don't have a huge head and I have trouble getting it over my head.
I wore this to church on Sunday and had limited time before we left, so I threw my hair in a half up twist.
I only did my hair twice this weekend. Lazy status right there. Actually I do get it off my face, but you keep seeing the same styles over and over, so I just document the ones that haven't become part of my normal routine. I saw this video and I had to try out Monday the next day. Actually it was one of the last things I watched before going to bed, so it was fresh in my mind as I was standing in front of the mirror trying to get ready. I skipped the headband part, but I think it turned out pretty good. Not as "messy" as hers, but messy enough for me.
Hello Foxy Friends! Welcome back to another installment of The World Through Baby Fox's lens. For those that are new here, actually not really, since the last time I did one of these was 16 months ago, anyway. I thought I would gather the most recent picture off of Baby Fox's camera. 2.5 years ago we gave Baby Fox a camera and he's been sort of taking pictures ever since. Mostly sporadically, but lately he's been really interested in it. So here they are.
He got Skylanders from his older cousin and he was just so stinkin excited that he lined them all up and took pictures of them.

This one cracks me up, I had no idea he was talking pictures too, this is my June $10 Target Haul I was taking pictures of. LOL.
Mr. and Baby Fox are really into Battlebots, a picture of the flame thrower, because he thought it was so cool.
Baby sister transitioned to her big girl bed...Baby Fox yelled, don't move I want to take a picture and ran off down stairs to retrieve his camera, so stinkin cute!

And there you have life lately according to Baby Fox's lens. I try not to force him to use it, so who knows the next time we'll have enough photos to do another one, but until then, keep letting those little ones be creative!
Happy Monday all! Today we're off to get Baby Fox assessed for Kindergarten, yikes! Then Friday we are finding out his teacher assignments and Monday we start school! Holy Cow!

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! So happy it's Friday, I'm taking Monday off to take Baby Fox to his Kindergarten meet the teacher...yikes! Is this really happening? Anyway, here are my favorites from the week.
In case you missed it on the blog. I actually skipped Monday, the first weekday I've skipped this year! We had our house tented and I forgot my mouse to do any computer work, oops! It was a nice break to just do nothing and watch tv while the kids napped.
We got our house tented over the weekend so we headed to the mountains to stay with some friends and visit my bestie, such a great time. The kids wanted to wear matching shirts, so matching shirts it was. In case you were wondering it's The Shirt that Notre Dame comes out with each year.
I realized that the gas company turned off the gas earlier than I was making breakfast. I had already promised the kids pancakes, so I improvised and made some pancake muffins instead. These are mini muffin pans.
They turned out perfect, considering I didn't have any oil or butter or spray of any kind to help them get out, the were easy to get out and the kids LOVED them.
Okay back to the trip, car full and we're finally off! Daddy/Son matching sunglasses.
We hung out with my bestie and her family a lot. Friday we went to dinner with them and got our faces painted.
Saturday we went to my besties son's scrimmage football game, then out to breakfast...we had two tired kids on our hands.
The rest of Saturday we relaxed and hung out.
Then my bestie and I got out on our own for some drinks and dessert. It was 3 hours by ourselves, it was amazing! Laughing catching up, talking Mom stuff...glorious, I hope it can happen more often. We're thinking girls weekend sometimes in October.
Sunday we were able to go home, so it was all systems go for cleaning up...ugh! But we're slowly getting there...very, very slowly!
We transitioned Mini Fox to a big girl bed...so far it's going better than we could have imagined. She stays in her bed until we get her and she's sleeping the same amount of time. We're only on day 3, so we'll see if this is a thing or not, fingers crossed!

I debating on posting this here or not, but Baby Fox has watched it several times and just laughs when he sees it, so I figure if he can laugh at himself...then we'll I'm going to post it. I'll preface this video by saying that the kids went to bed super late the night before, got up super early and then didn't take a nap. To say they were sleep deprived is the understatement of the year.
But wait...there's another kid...she stopped crying as hard as soon as we started to video...but you get the idea.
We're just loving watching all the Olypmic although, they could end soon, because I need to get more sleep! Seriously! That being said I saw this video this week, so hilarious, reguar people trying on Olympic swimmers swim suits...
Life changing, I really hope this works. Next time I buy an avocado...I'll keep you posted.
Hello Foxy Friends! Just this week we transitioned my daughter from her crib to a big girl bed, queue the tears, on my part not her's. Just kidding I didn't really cry, but really, why do they have to grow up! I want to bottle up this stage of life and remember it always. I was thinking back to the days when her bed was Baby Fox's bed and how we transitioned him to being a big brother. Here is what we did to transition him to being a big brother.
My kids are 2.75 years apart, I got pregnant just as my son was turning 2. Mini Fox was born in September and then 3 months later in December Baby Fox turned 3.
1. Making Being A Big Brother the Most Fantastic Thing EVER
We started off by telling him he was going to be a big brother and that his baby sister was going to love him so much. And when baby comes he's going to get to help out Mommy with baby sister. Getting her diapers and toys and playing with her. We never mentioned anything negative, like he'll spend less time with Mommy and Daddy, just the good stuff. Making everything sounds over the top exciting for when baby sister got here and most importantly he would have someone to play with.
He even helped change a diaper or two...
2. Have Them Involved With Planning
Any chance we got we would have Baby Fox help pick things out for his little sister. He even picked out her coming home outfit. It was so cute, he just loved that he got to make that important decision. The coming home outfit he picked out.
3. Let Them Pick Out A Gift Just For Baby
We asked him if he wanted to give baby sister a gift for when he met her for the first time. He happily agreed and then picked out this cute rabbit stuffed blanket thing. He was so proud of it, and was so excited to give it to her when he met her at the hospital. He even asked if we could bring her home that moment, but unfortunately we had to stay the night.
We did not do a gift from baby, mostly because we didn't feel like it was necessary. He knew she was a baby and could not really go "shopping" for him but I think letting him pick a gift to give her, was way more fun for him. To have something small to bring his little sister.
4. Talk Up Transition to a Big Boy Bed is for Older Siblings
We knew we didn't want to buy another crib, so we needed to transition brother out of his crib before sister arrived. We told Baby Fox that being a big brother was a big deal, and that
big brothers got to sleep in big boy beds. Right off the bat we told him
that when he becomes a big brother he gets to sleep in a big boy bed,
we made this a HUGE deal, telling everyone that would listen that when
he's a big brother he gets to sleep in a big boy bed. Totally worked, we
talked about it so much that by the time we switched him he was just so
stinkin excited. We transitioned him about 2 weeks before Baby Sister
arrived (really we wanted it to be about a month, but sister came 2
weeks early).

He did have some hesitation the first night, but we reminded him that his sister needed the crib when she got here, and he quickly said oh yeah and then happily slept in his new big boy bed.We even let him pick out his new bed, which was a huge deal, we talked about this a lot, what his bed would look like. In the grand scheme of things, yes we paid a lot for a bed that isn't going to last a long time, but we just wanted him to love his new bed, so it was worth the cost. 5. Do One-On-One Time
Those first few weeks are difficult on everyone. Make sure that toddler isn't getting left out. I know you're feeding around the clock, but try to plan times that grandparents or good friends can come and pick them up so that they can get out of the house and feel special that only he gets to go and baby doesn't. They don't know that baby can't really get out of the house yet. Also do some one-on-one time with just you and him, alternate between you and your spouse/partner. Even if it's just at trip to the store, any time with you they love.
Mr. planted some bulbs with Baby Fox, he just loved being outside with just Mr. (minus me taking the picture) and being able to dig in dirt, win-win for all.
