What's Up Wednesday: January

Hi Foxy Friends! Today I'm linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday, where we share what's going on with us. So let's get to it:

1. What We're Eating This Week

Made pot roast and going to make a chicken/veggie stir fry. Oh and I'm also going to 2 MNO this week.

2. What I'm Reminiscing About

The other night we were talking about when Baby Fox used to have a buzz cut and then found this gem, when I thought it was a good idea to take an almost 3 year old and a 3 month old to Disneyland with a friend.

Another buzz cut photo, and he loved his sister so much and pretty much would do anything for her, still does actually.

This sweater, it's cute and I got it on sale, it's no longer on sale, but still a good deal for under $30.

And this is one of the warmest sweaters ever, it's like wearing a cute hug.  And it has different prints and colors...is it weird if i get the black and buffalo plaid one too?

4. What We've Been Up To

Trying to get over being sick...ugh. I was the last man standing and then I went down, darn kid snuggles got me. It's worth it though, both kids are almost back to normal.

I was also able to go on one of Baby Fox's field trips, I never get picked to go, so it was nice that I was able to go. We went to a science center.

5. What I'm Dreading

Not much. We have a bunch of fun things lined up in the next few weeks.

6.  What I'm Working On

Working on changing out a sign in my bathroom. I really like the frame but got tired of the saying, so I took out the middle and am working on making a new saying on it, that I will pop back into the frame, more on that later!

7. What I'm Excited About

We're headed to Canada to visit some friends and we're so excited! Going to be super cold, but we have so many fun things planned! This is the third year in a row we get to see each other in Jan/Feb. and it's a tradition I don't want to miss! Oh and Alison is joining too!

8. What I'm Watching/Reading

Okay, I haven't been reading anything...does kid books count? Mini Fox just got If You Give a Mouse a Brownie...haven't read that one, I really liked it.

Watching, Mr. and I watched The Witcher over the break, really good. It's based off of Mr.'s favorite of all time video games. He liked seeing back story of some of the characters and me not knowing anything really enjoyed it too. It has to do with Elves, Witches and other Mythical creatures, so if you don't like those things, you won't like this.

Also we are currently watching Messiah, not sure where it's going to go, but we REALLY like it. So far in the first few episodes it's a man who is very Jesus like spreading the good word and there are people who are believers and others who are skeptics about his true intentions.

I've started re-watching Reign, re-watching as in I've seen the first season only, I decided to watch from the beginning though.

And last I want to start watching You, I've watched the first few episodes when the first season came out, but got sucked into The Originals and Legacies...so I'm going to watch that now too.

9. What I'm Listening To

Hmmm...not listening to much, currently this is my favorite song and I have on repeat.

10. What I'm Wearing

This cute jumper, I'm obsessed with jumpers lately, even though it makes going to the bathroom awkward, I still love them!

And wearing this if I was going to go out for Valentine's Day

11. What I'm Doing This Weekend

Friday Baby Fox has football, I've missed the last two games, so it will be nice to be able to go. Then Saturday our school is doing a kids production that we'll be going to that, to support some of our friends that are in it. Sunday I just realized is Super Bowl Sunday...which means we're headed to my cousins for another cousin party. Yay! Wow I felt like February was so far off, but nope it's happening this weekend!

12.  What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month

Looking forward to our trip to Canada, and we're also doing an overnight trip with my extended family to the mountains, that should be fun.

13. What Else Is New

Hmm...finally got this video edited, after only 8 months of it sitting on my computer. Better late than never right? Don't worry I have a bunch more that I filmed and never got around to editing...they'll all be coming out sooner or later. If you want, go subscribe to my Youtube channel so you can see when I release new videos, I would appreciate the follows!

Happy Wednesday! Only 2 more days till the weekend, woo hoo!

How To Apply HTV To A Trucker Hat

Hi Foxy Friends! I made this hat over the summer, and am now just getting to posting about it, figure better late than never? I was asked to make these hats for a 40th birthday trip and realized as I was looking around the internet that everyone was using a hat press and no one was using a trucker hat. Well I've seen it be done before, so I set off to make one myself without a hat press. It can be done and it was way easier than I thought it would be!

For those that like to watch how to do it, I made a video for you. Full set of directions and things you'll need to make these hats are below.

What You'll Need:

Hat (this comes in 20 differnent colors and is under $7)
Easy Press (the one I have, but this one would probably be better, you could use this regular iron as well)
Heat Transfer Vinyl
Heat Resistant Tape
Circut (or some craft cutting machine)
Parchment Paper
Rolled Up Towel (I used a hand towel)

Directions:

Step 1: Cut Vinyl

Use your craft cutting machine, I use a Cricut, to cut out the design you want on your hat and weed your design.

Step 2: Roll Towel and Put Behind Hat

If you have a larger hat you might need something bigger than a hand towel.

Step 3: Place Vinyl and Secure

Using the heat resistant tape, secure the vinyl to the hat.

Should be on all sides.

Step 4: Lightly Heat Press Vinyl

Place parchment paper between the vinyl and the heat press. When pressing this takes a light hand and only a few seconds, unlike when making a t-shirt, you only need to hold in place for a few seconds.

You know you're done pressing it when you can see the fabric imprinted in the letters. Not sure if you can really see it in this picture.

Step 5: Remove Transfer Sheet and Tape

Since some of our lettering was so thin, there might be a case where the vinyl doesn't adhere all the way, see the picture below.

If this happens, fear not, just put your parchment paper back over the whole thing and press lightly again.

Then you are all done!

I ended up making 5 hats for our outing. They all came out great, and everyone we passed loved them!

Weekly Favorites #2

Hi Foxy Friends! I'm back for another Weekly Favorites. Last week I caught you up with what I've been doing the last 6 months of missed Friday favorites...so here we go!

For Christmas we gave the kids a night away at Great Wolf Lodge, and this past weekend was it. We met up with my cousin and her kids for the second year in a row and we all had a blast. The kids LOVE getting to spend quality time with their cousins and we all love a good water slide.

Day two was a little rough with all of the pool closures, I wrote a very strongly worded letter saying it was unacceptable, but despite that we had a blast and had a very competitive game of miniature golf. My cousin won and she basically has bragging rights for the rest of our lives. Yep that's how we role, life.

Mini Fox loves her oldest cousin.

We loved watch The Witcher on Netflix, based off of a video game of the same name.

Also really liked Messiah, can't wait for the next season. #Ibelieve

We didn't have anything to watch, so we picked up Lost In Space, and so far it's really good, highly recommend.

This sweater is pretty much the softest cutest sweater ever! And it has different prints and colors...is it weird if i get the black and buffalo plaid one too?

Mini Fox saw this in the was pile and asked if I cold get one in her size.

I also got this sweater and it's super cute and apparently I have a thing for leopard right now.

In other things this week:

Monday the kids and Mr. had no school/work so they went to volunteer at a food bank, they had a blast and worked super hard for 2 hours. So proud of them.

I went to a MNO with some new friends and it was super fun to get to know some new ladies. The lady in the back owns this boutique that I have bought from several times and she's pretty much a super awesome person/small business owner.

Both kids stayed home sick on Wednesday. Thursday Baby Fox was better but Mini Fox still had a fever...boo! Hopefully she recovers soon!

Okay, that's all I have for now, Happy Friday. So happy to be recapping my week and recording what we're doing over on this side of the internet. See you next week! This weekend Baby Fox has his first piano recital, so excited for that!
