Friday Favorites #114

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! I am extra happy because I am on a flight home right now! Woo hoo! Let's get started.

In case you missed it this week.

Monday: My Favorite Southern California Parks blog hop
Tuesday: My Favorite Non-Kid Parties
Wednesday: Yet another floral outfit, plus I made up my very own hairstyle

Vegas...it is actually family friendly. They have some great things for kids to do. If you are there you HAVE to hit up Container Park.  It's super family friendly, there is only one way in and out, and it has a huge jungle gym for the kids and so many places to eat. It also has a stage for live music, I guess it kicks all the kiddies out at 10 and becomes and adult only place, which is pretty cool. Plus the flame throwing Praying Mantis is pretty awesome too.

A few pictures from Vegas, we had a blast, this was dinner at the Container Park and they had the best Brisket Sandwich, yum!

My brother is the best Uncle and he loves the kids so much. I love seeing them together.

We went to a parot show, and for $5 you could go backstage and pet and take pictures with the birds, it was super awesome, worth it all day long!

Then we hit up the butterfly garden, the kids loved it. I'm thinking of getting a butterfly farm thing for our house...anyone have any suggestions?

I wanted to take the kids to see the Bellagio fountains, and we made it just in time and got a great view.

I just love this picture with Mini Fox and my brother.

In other happy news I won a giveaway from Elizabeth and Amy! This time a $50 gift card to Erin Condren...I am so stinkin' excited! I've wanted to try one out, but never did...because price. But with $50 off, makes it more in my price range :) Can't wait for next year to order one! Wait...hold the phone...I just went to her site to check some stuff out and they sell the cutest pj's for a super reasonable price too! Thank you ladies for making my week!

Joining The Blended Blog's Friday Loves where we share fellow bloggers content that we loved for the week.

First up is Andrea from Living on Cloud Nine, she wrote an awesome post on embracing our weaknesses and finding strengths instead.

Stephanie from Wife Mommy Me is hosing a fitbit challenge and the winner will receive a $25 gift card. If that's not motivation to walk more and get healthy I don't know what is. I would totally do this if I owned a fitbit...but I don't, but if you do, go sign up, you're already wearing it might as well be in the running for a gift card. Check out the details here.

Last week I shared some frequently asked questions I get about being adopted. So when I saw Sarah from Tuckered Up share an IG auction to help a couple adopt a baby, I couldn't wait to share it with you guys! Read about the couple here. I see a few thing in here that I want to snag up, get cute home décor plus help a couple adopt a baby I'm in! If you can't participate, totally understand, just send a few prayers their way.

I just love Chip and Joanna Gaines, they are the cutest couple. While watching tv at my hotel, I caught the cutest episode ever...then after trying to find it to share here I found out the wife passed away, but I am so glad that she got to see the house in person and enjoy it for a little bit before passing.

Let's keep going with this theme...some more make you feel good home make overs. Mila Kunis did a full home reno on her parents condo and it might be the cutest thing ever. She was super pregnant too, and man can I just say, I wish I looked that good 9 months pregnant?

And then I guess this could make you feel good? Give you some endorphins? Anyway, this popped up in my YouTube feed and right off the bat I wanted to try it. Although the picture that is here, isn't even the people that are in the video. I did this last night in my hotel room and I am fairly certain that I looked like a drowning rat, I know what I was doing was not nearly as cute as what they were doing. I do know as I'm writing this I'm a little sore, although that could be the 7 miles I've run over the past 3 days.... in any case, it was a fun workout and will be adding it in the mix.

What are your plans for the weekend? We are going to see a local high school performance of Beauty and the Beast.

It's our last day of Spring Fever, but don't worry, I'll let you know what the theme for May at the bottom of this post. Plus I am finally remembering to do What's Up Wednesday post with ShayMel and Sheaffer.

What I'm wearing:

Today is another shirt that has the same pattern as this dress...just like last week, except this time we're doing a blue and flower theme. This shirt is no longer available but they do have the same style in several other patterns.

Okay I admit a took a lot of pictures of this hair style. I have to admit that this is my first real style that I made up all on my own. I initially was trying to copy a YouTube video, which I can't remember which one, and I couldn't do it, so it sort of morphed into this style.

I made three low ponytails, and braided and pancaked them. Then I took the middle braid and maid a low bun with it. Then wrapped the right side braid up around and around the bottom of the braid. Then did the same with the left side braid. This is the look that I was left with.

What we're eating this week:

I'm eating out a lot this week as I am traveling for work. Currently as I write this post I am eating microwave popcorn. I couldn't believe that they had a microwave in my hotel room. I've stayed here several times and I've never had one before. Definitely taking advantage of that.

What I'm reminiscing about:

Meeting up with my Blended Blog friends in Vegas last year, as I went to Vegas this past weekend and was remembering all of the things we did as I passed by it with my family.

What I'm loving:

All things floral. Based off of all of the repeat patterns I've been buying lately.

Find the dress here

Find the spaghetti strap dress here.

 What we've been up to:

Visiting my brother and sister-in-law in Vegas.

What I'm dreading:

Being away from my family for 3 more days...boo!

What I'm working on:

Trying to learn how to use Heat Transfer Vinyl and make myself a "On Wednesday's We Wear Pink", and then I also have to work on Baby Fox's Minions birthday invitations.

What I'm excited about:

Besides the obvious of coming home, I'm excited to go to an Escape Room for Mom's Night Out. I just hope my claustrophobia doesn't go through the roof...feeling traps already...I'm choking...I can't breathe...AAAAHHHH!!!!!

What I'm watching/reading

What I'm listening to:

I know I'm totally obsessed with them, but I can't help it. They've been releasing a lot of covers lately. And I sort of love that Kirstin went back to brown.

And loving everything this guy sings, he's so talented. Seriously there are so many crazy talented people on YouTube, love that people have a different avenue to get their music and voice out there.

What I'm doing this weekend:

We have soccer and baseball. We have to split up this week, boo. We've been able to swing almost all of the games until this weekend. Mini Fox's game is 30 minutes away from us...boo! Since when did we get on a travel team? Then Saturday night we are going to a local high schools Beauty and the Beast. Mini Fox is so excited that we're allowing her to wear her Belle Costume out in public.

What I'm looking forward to next month:

I know you're going to hear this like a million times, but since this is really next month I can scream it from the rooftops, going to see The Blended Blog Ladies in Toronto! Expect a ton of pictures and lots of stories. We'll definitely miss those that can't go, but am looking forward to hugging everyone in person instead of virtually.

What Else Is New:

Not much, my life is an open book and you know everything in it.

Bonus Question - What is your favorite summer shoe/sandal :

I just bought these heels and they are so very comfortable and I debated long and hard whether or not to buy the black ones as well.

My Favorite Grown Up Parties

Back again linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell, this time we're talking about throwing grown up parties. Honestly I haven't thrown much of those...because kids... but I do love me a good party. I actually did a post on how to throw a party, you can find that here. Sometimes knowing where to start can be overwhelming...so I break it down in 5 steps. Easy, peasy.

A few years ago my sister turned 40 so I threw her a surprise party, which didn't turn out to be a surprise because she's nosy and always has to know everything and didn't want the surprise part. But in any case, we threw her a Fiesta party because why not? Hired a taco guy, and I made a bazillion tissue paper flowers.

I found colored buckets and made small arrangements in them. They turned out super cute for center pieces.

No fiesta party is compelte without a taco guy right? If you re in the LA area, give this guy a call, he was amazing, and had the BEST tacos...plus he brought a ton of condiments to put on it, so we didn't have to get anything else!

The other grown up party I threw was a Tiffany's themed one. It was super fun, and again I made something with tissue paper, but this time they were those pom poms...super easy and much cheaper to make than buying the Martha Stewart ones. Speaking of which I should update that one...those pictures in that post are pretty awful. It was one of my first posts, and clearly I had no idea what I was doing. Amazing how far I have come since then.

These are my favorite pictures from that shower. I love that the center pieces are so simple but really fit the theme.

And such a cute drink table.

Putting food on different levels makes it look fancy...and that's what we're all about right? We found random boxes to put under each thing.

Favorite Sourthern California Park

Hello foxy friends! I'm back with the California moms talking about our favorite parks.

There are so many parks to go to, but the one my kids repeatedly love to go to is called Dinosaur Park. Here's the story behind the park:

So cool right? They have this big dinosaur at the beginning for the kids to climb on, which gives me heart palpitations but the kids love it. Excuse me while my heart might explode and my palms get sweaty.

The park itself is pretty big, so I'm going to concentrate on the park structure part of the park. It is broken down into three sections.  The first section is on the bottom, and has some sand for the kids to play in and has these turtles that spout water when you click on these buttons off to the side. It's so fun for the kids for those hot summer days.

You can tell that the buttons are well loved.

The second section on the bottom is a smaller playground for the little toddlers in your life. The one thing I don't like about it, the ramp to get to the slide is super steep and has no grip to it, so the newly walking kids (which it's made for) need help getting up.

The top section has a playground for bigger kids and the swings. My kids love playing on this, and that slide over there is actually pretty scary for me, but the kids love it and can go up and down for forever.

The park is a great place to picnic too. The grounds are kept up really nicely, I know a lot of people hold parties on the bench areas and sometimes even rent bounce houses. This is also where Baby Fox plays baseball, there are three fields, one little league field and two bigger kid fields. Plus there is a huge soccer area where several games are played at a time during soccer season. There is always something going on and/or something to watch.

Do you have a go to park in your area? There are so many to choose from around us, they really built this community around parks and bike/jogging paths. When we moved here we had no idea all that existed and we are so glad that we did!

Now go check out some of the other California mom's and see where their favorite parks are!
