I also have a video to go with the July 4th Wreath, it might be my favorite wreath to date.

This past weekend was Mini Fox's first ballet performance. She was just the cutest thing ever. Friday they had a full dress rehearsal, she thought she was hot stuff in her hair and blush.
We are going to have problems with this one, she already is fighting over how much make up to wear. She wanted eye shadow and some lipstick too. We settled on some blush and some sparkly highlighter.

She did fantastic at her performance the next day. I can't even believe she got up there and did her thing. The lighting where they had us taking pictures was awful, but I still love them.

Sunday was Baby Fox's half birthday party. He wanted a Minions party, and Minion party he got. I had fun with this one. I think the coolest thing I made were the Minion Twinkies.

Some other fun party stuff.

Cousins...darn this one is blurry, oh well!

I think the kids had a blast!

Baby Fox loves the happy birthday part, part embarrassed, but mostly just excited that everyone is singing to him.

This was the cake I tried to make for his birthday on chirstmas, but it iddn't turn out, I LOVE the way it came out. I followed this tutorial.

A full recap with tutorials on what I made coming later...whenever I can get my act together...so probably never...hehe, just kidding. It will happen!

Linking up with The Blended Blog for another week of Blended Blog Loves, where I share blog posts from around the blogging world, cause let's face it we all need to support each other right?

Have you met Tif? She's awesome and has great taste in clothes. I just love her outfit this week, perfect summery dress.

The Blended Blog has a Summer Time Fun blog hop and link up every Monday and this week they're asking you some fun questions. Come link up with us and let's get to know you better! Here are the questions. It's a super simple blog post before the 4th of July!

Seems like this week has been all about the books. The Blended Blog has their book review and others have been doing book reviews. I want to read all of them, espcailly  Whitney's recommendation. I just love the author, Jennifer Wiener. Plus she said you could read it in one day if you wanted, I'm in.

Oh my gosh how embarrassing is this?! But super funny.

Last week I showed the behind the scenes this is the full trailer and it comes out at Christmas, it's right around the corner, can't wait!

Bring me back to my childhood, Bayside is coming to Los Angeles...just consider me there.

10 Daily Habits

When I saw Becky do this, I knew I had to participate in it too. Each month there is a topic to discuss and it's numbered, there is nothing better then that. Seriously, here are the topics for the rest of the year. Okay so I'm a little early on this one, but better early than never? Right? Thanks Erin for hosting. Today's topic is all about 10 daily habits we have.

Okay let's get started:

1. After I get up, re-set alarm for Mr. to wake up.

2. Turn water in sink on to get hot, while that is happening go to the restroom, wash hands and brush teeth. Sometimes it will be hot by the time I brush my teeth, so I turn off the water

3. Check to make sure blog post went live if it is during the work week, link up to link ups if applicable.

4. If during the work week, put on enough make up to not make me look dead, weekends I have a bit more time and do a more full face.

5. Workout if time permits, typically that is 3-4 days a week, although I would prefer it to be 5-6 days, but eh, such is life.

6. Spend some time reading to the kids before bed.

7. Give each other blessings, this is when we each give each other intentional blessings for the night and hugs. We all give them to each other. Baby Fox and Mini Fox cannot go to sleep without blessings and will ask whoever is there to give them to them too, it's super cute.

8. Spend some quality time with Mr. after the kids go to bed, Mr. and I make intentional time for each other. Usually we watch one show before hitting the hay.

9. Make my lunch for the next day. I bring my breakfast and lunch to work probably 95% of the time.

10. I wish I could write in daily devotional, but as of right now, I don't, I should start that...yes, perhaps starting July I will do that. I will keep you posted. I actually carry one around in my purse, there is no reason not to read it.

So what are some of your daily habits? Anything I need to pick up? And yes, you read that right, I do not drink coffee, I go to bed around 11:30pm, wake up at 4:20am and don't drink any caffeine, I have no idea how I do this.

Here are the topics in case you want to join in.

Favorite Places To Cool Off

Happy Monday Foxy Friends! Today we are off at Legoland, hopefully we won't need to cool off too much. Haha but if we did, a fun place to cool off at Legoland is the boat building station. They have base boats that you can decorate and then race down the "river", the kids get soaked and have a blast, but it's under the shade. Perfect for the kids to get a little wet and have a ton of fun.

Other things to do, find a splash pad, they are awesome and can provide hours of entertainment. We have a few near us, all of them are free, busy but free. Some of them you have to know someone in the community to get in, but usually it's not hard to find a friend.

This is by far the coolest one by us. It's open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, hours of fun for the kids!

Then there is always our gym pool, it's super fun, and Baby Fox is This Close to being tall enough to go down the slide. T here is also a small splash pad there too, but not nearly to the scale as the one above!

And it's always fun to go bowling, we took the kids for the first time this year and they LOVED it.

It's pretty cool, they have electric side bumpers now, so now more paying money for them to blow up the ones in the gutters, they just pop up if that person needs it. Plus they have a ramp for the kids to slide their balls down. So fun.

P.S. I may or may not own my own bowling ball and shoes.

Then you can't forget about the bazillion play places that have come around lately. Even if they are busy, it's air conditioned and the kids love it and run around and you can mostly talk to your friends.

I know ziplining, so fun right?!

Alright that's all I have for you. What do you have near you that you like to do to cool off. I didn't include our own pool, because I'm sure you'll all sick of seeing it. Thought I would share some new things!

Now go check out some of the other California Mama's and see how they like to cool off!

Blush Pants And A Boat Shirt

Hello Foxy Friends. I think that this week is going to be a long one, and I'm only working 3 days this week. Today is another week of The Blended Blog fashion link up. Thank you for continuing to link up with us and make this link up a success. I'm also linking up with with Shay, Mel and Sheaffer for a little What's Up Wednesday.

What I'm wearing:

Last week I showed you a new hair tutorial how to do this style. But I never showed you the whole outfit. This is my new favorite outfit. I bought everything while I was in Canada and for the life of me can't remember the name. Reitmans maybe? Canadian friends who were with me, help me out. I had been looking for a pair of blush jeans for forever, and finally found them! I just have to get them hemmed a little and I'm all set to go.

If you want to know how I did this hair style, see this easy tutorial here.

What we're eating this week:

A lot of party leftovers...Mr. is over it, I'm not quite there yet. I sort of like left overs, don't have to think about meal time and you just grab and go.

What I'm reminiscing about:

I saw this picture on FB, and it is just too cute...they were so small!

While we are in June 2015 folder...

Now Mini Fox has inherited these same goggles.

What I'm loving:

Summer time means pool time and bbq's with family and friends.

What we've been up to:

Baby Fox had his birthday party over the weekend, we were knee deep in all things Minion. Don't worry I tried to record as much as I could of things that I DIY'd. Coming as soon as I can get my act together.

What I'm dreading:

The heat that is approaching...NOOOOO!!!!

What I'm working on:

Now that Baby Fox's birthday party is out of the way, onto planning Mini Fox's party. She says she wants a Frozen party...we'll see, but for now, that's what the plan is.

What I'm excited about:

All of our summer plans. I think the days are going to pass quickly and before we know it school is going to be starting again.

What I'm watching/reading:

Okay so I started reading Before I Fall, and have yet to finish it. I really need to do what Shaunacey and Nicole did and just listen to it on my phone while I'm doing other things.

Mr. and I have been watching Travelers on Netflix. We really liked it, and can't wait for next season to start.

We also just finished the first season of Handmaids Tale, wow, what a good series. I heard that the book was equally good too. I can't wait for next season, but I think we're going to have to wait until summer of 2018.

We also just picked up Arrow, we've watched the first few episodes, I really like, Mr. thinks that it's just okay, but we're going to keep watching. We have 5 seasons to get through.

What I'm listening to:

Unfortunately just what's on the radio, so top 40.

What I'm doing this weekend:

We are having friends over to go swimming, provided it's not cold, meaning 70°, too cold to swim in that temp for us Southern California people. Maybe we'll go bowling instead and then come back and BBQ at our house afterwards. We'll see. Sunday is a much needed rest day, oh and I'm getting my hair cut, yay!

What I'm looking forward to next month:

We have a trip to Sequoia planned with my brother and sister-in-law, really excited about that.

Bonus Question: What's your favorite July 4th Tradition

Every year we go to my cousin's on July 3rd to decorate our bikes/scooters and then on the 4th there is a bike parade in her community. Then we go to my aunt and uncles house for swimming and Taco man (at least he last few years) and then head over to the fireworks. I talk about our 4th of July traditions here.

Waiting for fireworks.

Now link up your fashion posts below and show us what you've been wearing!

Patriotic Wreath

Hello Foxy Friends! I finally found some time to put together this wreath that I have been wanting to do for years! I finally bite the bullet and ordered the stars and strips burlap off of Amazon...I'm so happy I did, since I couldn't find it in store anywhere! Anyway, let's get straight to business.

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

Things You'll Need:

1 Wire Wreath
1 Navy Blue Star Burlap
3 Strip Burlap ribbon rolls.
Floral Wire
American Sign (or any sign you want to use) - I find that you have to actually go to a store to find this, I almost always go to Hobby Lobby

Directions:

Step 1:

You need a wire wreath, mine was a 16" wreath, you can use any size wreath that you want. Start with the star burlap and start to weave in and out of the wreath frame. See this tutorial on how to do that.

Fluff the star burlap once your have completed weaving it in the wire wreath.

Blue Star Burlap

Step 2:

Now continue the wreath with your red strip burlap.

Not fluffed red burlap.

Fluffed red burlap, huge difference right?

Memorial Day

Step 3:

Add the sign to the middle of your wreath.

Step 4:

Put on door hanger on your front door.

I put together a video showing you how I did this, cause sometimes watching something makes it so much easier to understand the process.
