Weekend Recap on a Tuesday

In case you missed it yesterday, I did a blog hop with The Blended Blog on how to transition our summer wardrobe, I tackled the ankle bootie, Alison  wrote about how to transition a sleeveless dress and Leslie showed everyone how to transition a lace top.

Now onto our weekend, it was pretty low key, after you very eventful weekend last week, I barely took any pictures. Mr. had to study pretty much all weekend, and we all know studying, it's just easier to do when there isn't anyone around. So I tried to stay busy the whole weekend. Friday my mom and I went shopping and to dinner with the kids. We could have spent way more time shopping. I wanted to try and find outfits for our family photo shoot. I found this leather skirt and knew I had to have it, now I just need to find the perfect top, suggestions are welcome. I'm thinking I'm going to get Mini Fox this dress, with some black quilted knee high boots she has. So far this is what I have for our family outfits...it needs a lot of work. I'm thinking black, white, grey with that purple color being the pop of color.

While shopping Baby Fox wanted a picture with this coat on, it was hilarious. He wanted to take it off the hanger and walk around with it on.

Dinner pictures, Cheesecake Factory, yum!

Little Miss was too busy eating to take a picture.

Saturday was soccer as usual (at least our new Saturday usual). The whole team did better this week, amazing what one week will do.

Coach brought a gator to help the kids learn to stay in the lines, he told them if they went outside the lines the gator would get them. Super fun for the kids to learn this way.

Mini Fox wanted in on the practice too.

All that practice tires a girl out, water break.

Before we start cheer, go Gators!

Pretty much the only time Baby Fox (#10) got the ball, he is just a sweet kid who has not one aggressive bone in his body. He pretty much does wind sprints up and down the field.

The best part of soccer...the after game snacks.

After practice we went swimming and had some lunch and then I went to my parents house so that Mr. could study. No pictures though...darn.

Sunday we went to church and then I took the kids to the gym pool because it was this hot out. We hadn't been to the gym pool, why not go on a 100° day.

We ate lunch and went swimming and did the splash park, it was perfect.

Back home for naps and dinner. Again no pictures, I was boring this weekend. Maybe next weekend will be better.

Summer to Fall Blog Hop - Ankle Booties

If you guys are stopping by from Leslie or Alison welcome! I am so excited for this to be my first contribution post on The Blended Blog! It's been in the works for a while now and I am so happy to be a fellow contributor. Being my first blog hop and all, I hope I do it justice. Last week they talked about White Jeans, Maxi Dresses, and Striped Dresses, go check them out to see how they styled their looks.

I'm sure you're dying to know how I am transition my summer to fall wardrobe using the simple ankle boot. When I decided that was going to be my topic and I picked ankle boots I was thinking, how the heck am I going to style ankle boots, I came up with one good outfit, before fully committing to the gals. When all was said and done I could have kept going, it was so much fun and I never realized how many ankle boots I have, it might be a problem.

Outfit #1

This was my summer look: simple romper (similar here and here) and metallic sandals (similar)

I created 3 outfits, each one a little warmer than the next. Living in California, we are still going to have warm temps here for another month or so, but the evenings are starting to get cooler, so I can just add some ankle boots like these and it keeps my feet a little warmer.

Or if I think I need it add a light cardigan.

Or a blazer. All the same outfit, different finisher pieces.

Black booties (Similar)
Outfit #2

My summer outfit: floral skirt (similar here and here), white tank, jean vest (similar)

Here I added the same ankle boots from outfit #1 and a jean jacket (similar)but I rolled the sleeves for the still warmish nights.

When the nights get a little cooler I can let the sleeves down and add a scarf.

Outfit #3

My summer look was black shorts and a pink printed tank top (similar here and here)

I added some black wedges and a light weight striped cardigan (similar) for those slightly cooler evenings.

Or I can add a heavier blazer (similar) with some heeled ankle boots (similar) for an evening out with friends or Mr. I think this one might be my favorite.
That last picture, I just wanted you to see the cute heel on it...and I'm really hot at this point because it's 91 degrees and I'm wearing a really thick blazer, which makes me make silly faces
Outfit #4

My summer look:  white jeans (similar) and a blue tank (similar here and here) with my metallic sandals (similar)

There was so much I could do with this outfit. I just added some heeled grey booties (similar) and I already felt warmer (trust me, it was hot)

Hey it might get a little chilly if I go out at night, simple, add this same burgundy sweater (similar) that I have added to most of the other outfits.

If that is too casual, I can add some black wedges and a black blazer.

And because I love you guys, I added a scarf to show you that you can just keep adding layers, but the basic booties is the same, just adds a different feel to the whole outfit compared to the summer outfit, don't you think?

And then I melted Wicked Witch of the West style...just kidding, I quickly striped it all off and threw on some shorts and a tank with some flip flops and headed to my parents for dinner. There you have it, my Summer to Fall transition piece: Ankle Booties, I hope if you don't have a pair you seriously consider getting one for your Fall wardrobe! Come back next Monday for three new styles from some other The Blended Blog contributors, Joy, Nicole and Christy.

If this is your frist step, go check out Alison and how she showed everyone how to transition all of those sleeveless dresses she wore all summer, and Leslie and how she showed everyone how to transition a lace top.

Friday Favorite #43

Happy Friday! Although it was a short week, coming back from vacation is always hard! Here are some of my favorite this week.

Getting our Disneyland passes! I've always wanted one, so excited to take the kids, especially having some dates with Baby Fox, he's so fun to share that experience with.

They got a book reader for Mini Fox's birthday and they convinced it's an iPad, it's super cute because they always hear people have them, and they really think this is called an iPad, when in reality it has 16 buttons and can read 8 books.

Love that Mr. loves to wear Mini Fox, super cute watching him and her together, they have special Father/Daughter bond that I had with my Dad and I am loving watching it all happen.

The hair challenge!

I finished it and I think I did pretty great, I'm thinking I might try a hair year...like try a different hair style every week for a year...so that's 52 hair styles...thinking I'm going to start it in the new year...stay tuned to see if I actually do it, although now that I've said it out loud on the blog, it's sort of set in stone right? That's how this blogging thing works right?

I even made a video of all of the styles, but only have 2 done so far.

The Twisted Half Updo (my second favorite style of the week)
The Braided Crown (although I guess I didn't hit record on the front camera so I only have the back camera footage, doh!)
And of course how can I not mention Mini Fox's birthday party. It was really a labor of love, but the look on Mini Fox's face was really priceless. Now to figure out the next party and the next theme....I love a good theme...and lots of cricut work!

My favorite picture of the whole week:

I love how it's just pure joy and love in this picture, he doesn't think anyone is taking a picture of him, and it's just her and him. Love, love, love.

Happy weekend! Mr. is studying all weekend, so I'm going to try and keep the kids busy, and maybe find our family photo outfits. Speaking of which, have you guys found your outfits? I need some assistance! Help!
