Friday Favorites #85

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! We made it! For whatever reason this seemed like a rather long week. Maybe because my birthday was on Tuesday and I always feel a birthday is best on the weekend, so maybe my mind just kept thinking it was the weekend...but alas I still have 3 more days of work. Darn. Anyways, some things that were my favorite this week.

Baby Fox started Kindergarten on Monday, how did this happen? Wasn't it just yesterday that he was born? But nope, he's now 5.5 and ready to start Kindergarten and even appeased me and took obligatory pictures.

So that sign I made... I bought these really cool Chalk Markers...that are supposed to be erasable...they're not. Does anyone have really good Chalk Markers?

Waving goodbye...sniff, sniff...he held it together, I almost lost it. There was this moment when Baby Fox had this look in his eye that he was going to cry, but I hugged him, told him it would be okay and that his teacher was really nice, and it worked and he held it together, so I did too.

School pick up, his teacher releasing him to me...he was super happy to see me waiting for him at the gate. Although this picture says otherwise.

We survived the first day of Kindergarten and the rest of the week went well. He says the days are long, although he goes to Kinder for less time that preschool, but more days. I'm sure we'll get the hang of it. We celebrated with some ice cream with the grandparents.

 

 

 

It was my birthday! Mr. and the kids had told me they had a great surprise for my birthday, weeks leading up to it...they were so stinkin' excited. Guess what it was? It was a yarn scavenger hunt! Just like in the Frozen Short, have you seen it? It's on Netflix if you haven't. Anyway, this is what I saw when I walked into the door.

The pink yarn was Mini Fox's and the blue was Baby Fox's and they had to work together so that they strings stayed together. Mr. said it was super cute s they both figured out where to go next.

First it lead me upstairs.

To this cute little project.

Then over to Mr.'s Office.

Where I found these adorable wind chims.

Then off around the bike...psych! It was a trick! They just thought they were so cleaver.

Now back out to Mini Fox's room. Where she made me this.

And a crown for the day...except I think she secretly wants it back.

Then off to Baby Fox's Room where I got to open this gift up.

It was a pretty platter, can't wait to use it!

Then back down stairs, with a few more tricks and I ended up in the Family room.

Over the weekend we watched my "niece" (actually my cousins daughter) while they went to a concert. They kids had such a blast together, but like I said yesterday, they stayed up till MIDNIGHT! How they did that, I'm not too sure, and then woke up a little before 7am...yikes!

They spent the night and then we all walked down to Starbucks for some breakfast.

And then walked over to the park for the kids to play a bit.

Then headed back home for some swimming, man these kids are just a bundle of energy!

Mr. and the kids worked on their acrobatics.

So much fun hanging out with family and getting some good one-on-one time with them. Hopefully we can do it again soon.

Sentence a Day: August Edition

Hi Foxy Friends, back with another installment of Sentence A Day! Thank you Rebecca for the idea! It's so fun to read about someone's day in just one sentence. Here are my other months.

1 - Perfect day for a swim before dinner.

2 - Allergy shot, no reaction, yay!

3 - Screw it, we're going out to dinner.

4 - Cause a frozen yogurt treat before dinner sounds like a good idea.

5 - I have 4 kids now!

6 - I love celebrating people I love tiny babies.

7 - Mr. needs to be at home, so what else to do but go shopping...or return a good portion of those Nordstrom boxes I got the other day.

8 - Car wouldn't start...not the way I wanted to start my Monday.

9 - Mr. is not a mechanic

10 - Fumigation Prep

11 - Olympics!!!

12 - Big Bear time!

13 - Bestie drinks and dessert, best time ever! Need more of this!

14 - Can go back home 6 hours earlier than we thought, woo hoo!

15 - 8 hour open window for Gas Man to come...come on!

16 - Allergy shots...boo!

17 - Big girl bed Success

 
18 - Second to last swim lesson of the season, woo hoo!

19 - Start the day with donuts, end it with ice cream, perfection

20 - 6 mile hike, followed by Mini Fox chipping her tooth, poor girl.

21 - Swimming and Yogurtland we owed the kids from yesterday's ordeal.

22 - Kindergarten assessment, when did this happen?

23 - Dinner at the parents, best hamburger and homemade fries ever.

24 - Ugh, getting sick again...why?!

25 - Girls Night, much needed, and Bad Moms, hilarious!

26 - Baby Fox's Kindergarten orientation, lots of what not to do...what am I SUPPOSE to do?

27 - Watching my niece for the evening, the kids stayed up till MIDNIGHT

28 - Starbucks, park, swimming and BBQing with cousins, best day!

29 - Baby Fox's first day of Kindergarten, so many feels.

30 - My birthday!

31 - Finally hanging pictures!

Polka Dots Are My Favorite

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends. Quick post today, back from my birthday dinner, belly full and happy. We found a new Mexican Restaurant, which makes me happy since we hadn't been happy with our previous one. Anyway, this week I just did my hair once. I know, getting lazy in my old age, haha.

 

I just love this hair style, I need to work on the side profile, but other than that, it's pretty much exactly how I wanted it.

In case you just really wanted to see a close up of my head, haha!

That's all for this week, I'm sort of feeling uninspired lately...have any ideas on new hair styles you want me to try out? OH and I am doing my hair during the week, just haven't taken any pictures...like yesterday, I got up early and curled my hair and did it half up and forgot to take a picture...darn! Oh well, next week.

Three Things I Can't Live Without...For My Birthday

Hello Foxy Friends! I'm linking up today with Andrea for her Tuesday Talk, but I thought I would turn it into a birthday edition since today is my birthday! :) I don't normally blog on my birthday, but I thought, hey why not?

Since it's broken down in threes, I thought I would do people, places and things...

Three People I can't live without...for my birthday

Well obviously my family. Yesterday was Baby Fox's first day of Kindergarten, sniff, sniff. Actually I didn't cry...almost did, but kept it together. I think if he had cried going into the classroom I would have lost it, but he was happy and smiling when he went in. So proud of him!

Three places I can't live without....for my birthday

Okay so that's a weird one. But let's say my house, I just love coming home, and this year Mr. and the kids have something up their sleeve. They keep teasing me about a surprise after I get home from work today, I can't wait to see what it is!

We usually go to dinner with my whole family for birthdays, I typically will pick Mexican food, so good! I would pick Chinese food, but we haven't found a good place out here. Actually we're trying a new Mexican place tonight, I hope it's good!

Is it cool to say my couch? After dinner I really like going home and sitting on the couch and doing nothing but watch tv and probably eat cake and ice cream...again.

I mean who wouldn't want to sit on this couch?



Three Things I can't Live Without...for my birthday

You know there isn't much on my birthday list this year. I told Mr. that all of my gifts this year can be money to go towards my trip to Toronto to see The Blended Blog Ladies. I am so excited to meet all of them, and to hug each and every one of them, look out Toronto here we come!

Our Vegas trip from this past year. So much fun, so much so that the week we got back we started planning the next trip.

My camera to take pictures of my birthday, haha. Those are important right?

I guess my third thing would be my cell phone, I love getting all of the text messages and FB posts wishing me a happy birthday. Even if FB does remind you it's your birthday, it's still nice to be able to know that they took 2 seconds out of their day to wish you a happy birthday.

So there you have it three People, Places and Things I can't live without...for my birthday.
