Happy Tuesday Foxy Friends! I thought today I would do a quick recap of our Yosemite trip. This was our first time driving this far with the kids and our first camping trip. It was so much fun! The first 2 hours we were there, Baby Fox runs up to me and says, this is the best trip ever, let's stay for a week. Both kids loved, loved, loved it and wanted to stay longer. I started to write this and realized I had a lot more pictures to share, so I'm breaking it up into two posts...you're welcome.
We left on Thursday, and drove to Fresno, that's about 5.5 hours away, we thought we would break up the trip on the way there, the way home was a different story. Anyway, we left right on time, it was a miracle, to start off the trips, woo hoo! And we fit everything into our Camry...well we had given our friends our tent and our chairs to a friend to take with them...so that helped a lot.
We made a stop after the Grape Vine at In and Out, where else would we stop? Our friends were a bit behind us, so it worked out we ate and then fooled around for 10ish minutes to wait for them to catch up.
They got there and we had to take a selfie with the group right?
Usually when we go on long rides we let the kids have the ipads after lunch, typically drive for a few hours, get a break, get the ipads for the rest of the way. Sweet silence.
We got there about 5 and decided to let the kids blow of steam in the pool, let me tell you that indoor pool area was so hot, we were dying, but the kids were having fun, so that's a bonus.
Then we got take out, ate outside and called it a night. We woke up casually, and went down for the free breakfast, packed up the car and were on our way again. Next stop...Yosemite, Upper Pines camping ground. We got there and set up the tents and Mini Fox cleaned the table with some leaves.
Tent set up and ready to go. That's a screened in area we kept our shoes, as to try and keep the dust and dirt out of the main tent area, worked great.
Unpacked, lunch eaten and finally off on an adventure. We decided to take the bus to Lower Yosemite Falls.
Waiting for the bus.
I have no idea why he's holding her like that, weirdos.
It was a short walk from the bus, and this is the view, so pretty. Although, not good enough the boys wanted to get closer, against the Mom's wishes, but I trudged along with them.
Much better view and this was as far as was safe for the kids to go, the rocks started to get wet after this.
Cutest picture ever.
When we were in Sequoia, we rode the bus with a family that said they were doing Dutch oven cooking...of course I wanted to try it, and while I got made fun of for making camping fancy...everyone loved the food in the end, and nothing was left over. First night we made this BBQ chicken and potatoes. Starting the fire to get the coals hot.
Anything with bacon in it is going to be good right?
While we did that, the kids ate some hotdogs.
And then some S'mores
Our dinner, you put coals on the top and bottom and let cook for an 45-60 minutes or so...we should have cooked it less, as we also had a fire going next to it...so I think it cooked it more then it should have...but it was delicious.
This picture does not do it justice, so dang good!
BBQ chicken and potatoes with some bacon thrown in, heck ya! They were heckling me at the beginning but after tasting it, they said, totally worth the trouble!
We put the kids to bed, did some s'mores ourselves, talked for a bit then hit the hay around 10:30pm. Next week I'll have part 2 of our camping trip, and we did another dutch oven recipe for night 2 that was even more awesome, come back to find out! I know, cliff hanger...haha.

TBB Asks: September Edition
Happy Monday Foxy Friends! Welcome back to TBB Asks, where we ask the questions and you answer, so easy right? Join up
with us the first Monday of the month, find the questions on social
media or our blog for the next month a few days before. Easy post if you ask me. I'm all
about easy and not having to think too much or too hard! So here are
this months questions.
2. Start school before or after Labor Day? Always after, as you know my birthday was this week, I would be so bummed if I had to go to school on my birthday. In college it always started my birthday week.
3. Wake Up: eager beaver or slow poke? Eager beaver
4. Favorite Breakfast? In high school my dad wouldn't let me go to school without eating breakfast so I hate a nutrigrain strawberry bar and milk every morning. Occasionally I would have a bagel with cheese on it, so good. Man I loved the days when I didn't have to think about carbs.
5. Favorite Cereal? Don't like cereal all that much growing up. Or now for that matter. Seems like a waste of calories, never fills me up and I just keep eating it and never really get full.
6. School Uniform or no uniform? Nope, although in elementary school we weren't allowed to wear shorts. Super weird to start wearing shorts in 7th grade to school.
7. New outfit for first day or no? You know I had a new outfit! I lived for the first day of school!
8. Walk to school or ride the bus? My parents drove me, 7th grade we took the bus about 50% of the time, but then they stopped the bus service, so my dad drove us to school.
9. Backpack, tote or messenger bag? Backpack in elementary school, junior high and high school and messenger bag in college (I was so cool with the messenger bag, it was orange)
10. Eat school lunch or pack lunch? Mostly packed lunch, in elementary school they came out with a monthly lunch schedule and we could pick out days we could buy lunch (that post is a Monday TBB Asks post on September 25th)
11. Remember the little milk cartons? White or Chocolate? Neither, once in 2nd grade we went to see the dairy farm where we got our school lunches, and I saw a cow be born (think City Slickers) and never drank milk from school again.
12. Paper bag or lunch box? Paper Bag..although I vaguley remember having a lunch box in elementary school.
13. Favorite thing to do at recess? Each year was different, but it ranged from teather ball, to bars, to 4 square.
14. Favorite back to school supply item? Getting new Lisa Frank Folders and a new pencil case from Hello Kitty (specifically my favorite was Keroppi)
I was obsesed with that little green frog.
15. Chalkboard or dry erase board? My teachers had over head projectors..and a mix between white and chalk board.
16. Regular pencil or mechanical? I was all about mechanical pencils, but now, regular pencils, there is no better smell that a freshly sharpened #2 pencil.
17. Homework as soon as you got home or after dinner? Homework right when I got home.
18. Favorite after school snack? Fruit snacks, still is, haha.
19. Favorite after school show? I can't remember anything specific. We weren't allowed to watch much TV on school days. As I got older I loved TRL on MTV. Anyone else?
20. Favorite subject in school? Math, big surprise oh and physics. (Side-note: I wanted to get my masters in physics, but couldn't due to the fact I didn't get my undergrad in it, so I would have had to take so many undergrad classes to catch up, and of course they didn't offer any undergrad classes for working people, boo)
21. Least favorite school subject? English
22. Name of your best friend in high school? Catherine, although she goes by Cat now and I don't really talk to her much any more, but thank goodness for FB.
23. High school mascot type? Highlander
24. SAT or ACT? I did both, ACT in 10th grade (I think or was it called Pre-SAT?) and SAT in 11th grade
25. Favorite year in school? I think 10th grade, that was when we went to the high school campus (junior high was 7, 8, 9)
26. Class ring or no class ring? No class ring, although I wanted one...but never got around to ordering one.
27. Attend or not attend high school reunion? Yep, and I actually reconnected with my brothers best friend from back in the day and we happen to live in the same town and now our kids play soccer together and he's the coach, he's actually coached both kids. Small world right?

Friday Favorites #132
Happy Friday Foxy Friends! We're headed into a three day weekend, which I'm not sad about, I love three day weekends. We have lots going on this weekend, and I have to plan/get ready for Mini Fox's birthday party the following weekend, party week and I'm starting to freak out. So MUCH TO DO! Alright onto some favorites.
In case you missed it this week:
Monday: Favorite So Cal Day Trips
Tuesday: What Up Wednesday - Birthday Edition
Wednesday: Floral Romper
Baby Fox started school on Monday and it could be the cutest thing ever.
Sister wanted in on the action too, bed head and all.
He was so excited about his new backpack and lunch bag.
Crossing with is first crossing guard.
Waiting in line.
Sister was super sad about the whole thing, she calls him Coco.
Our happy boy coming out of his first day.
Then of course we had to celebrate and get some ice cream, his pick was Thrifty Ice Cream.
My birthday was this week, and while it was just a regular day...birthday in the middle of the week sort of suck, my family really celebrated me. I knew they were planning a surprise, but it was even better than I imaged. When I got home they told me to look down and they guided me into the house. This is what I saw.
Then...
Persian food, hummus and cucumber sauce not shown.
Andrea from Living on Cloud Nine shared this skillet meal last week and I want to try this STAT!
A few weeks ago I shared Lisa's 12 outfit Summer to Fall Capsule wardrobe, girlfriend has been working hard because she's already came out with a Fall Capsule wardrobe. One of the outfits a few Blended Bloggers (here and here), recreated, and made me want to recreate it too. Stay tuned for that next week. In the mean time go check out the 15 outfits she created using these pieces.
I definitely wouldn't have the patience for this, but so cool to watch.

Wednesday is my only day I really get to the gym, so I decided while Baby Fox was at soccer I would still do my regular gym stuff, and then Mr. and Baby Fox picked up one of my favorite dinners.
This was me after the gym, not before...
Persian food, hummus and cucumber sauce not shown.
And then to top it off the kids help make a cake. Yum!
