Hello Foxy Friends!
I hope you all had a great Easter weekend! Ours was fantastic, so much so that I'm just too tired to recap it for you today! It's late and I need to get to bed, but I wanted to link up with Chrissy, Crystal, Elizabeth, Jen, Jess, Liz, Meghan, Natasha and Courtney for the Easter Basket link up.
The way things worked out, I didn't have time to put together the Easter baskets beforehand. Since we use the same baskets each year, I had to come up with a story to tell the kids why we use the same basket. We told them that we leave an empty basket out and the Easter Bunny fills it when he comes to leave the eggs. So we had them leave their baskets outside on Saturday night...so...Mr. did it while we were at church, and I had about 10 second pause before the kids tore into them...haha.
For Mini Fox we got her an Arial doll and a book and a See's Candy bunny, some eggs and a sucker.
Baby Fox we got him this Miles from Tomorrowland toy he's been asking for, since before Christmas...he wasn't sure if the Easter Bunny was going to come through for him or not...he talked about it non stop on Saturday saying he didn't think the Easter Bunny was going to bring it...he was over the moon excited when he found out he did in fact come through for him.
I hope you all had a great Easter! It was the most perfect day for us! Minus Mr. not being able to go to church because of his back...boo! Come back tomorrow to see all of our Easter fun!

Friday Favorites #62
Happy Friday! I have today off so we're headed to a kids museum today to meet up with a friend. Excited to see her and her two cute kids! Onto my Favorites of the week.
I can't believe how good this little girl is and she's only been doing this for less than a year! Watch out Olympics 2028.
Part of my wear everything in my closet, okay well just for a month...although I'm thinking I'm going to keep going. So far I haven't even dented my closet. Just like Lana and Abbie...they're still going strong too.

What are your thoughts on wearing everything in your closet?
Hope you all have a good Easter! See you on Monday!

Mr. and I are totally obsessed with watching Sons of Anarchy. We're on season two and loving it! Any one else watch it? If not, you should, it's awesome and it's on Netflix.

Further and Further Away
I'm not exactly sure where this is going...but gotta get it out.
This week was the first week to register Baby Fox for Kindergarten. A few weeks ago, we applied for the lottery for a local Charter school. It's getting real up in here people. My baby is going to Kindergarten. Real school, one that goes 5 days a week, and there is going to be homework.
But let's back up a bit. When I was pregnant, every ounce of his being was attached to me. I gave him food, water, life. I carried him for 38 weeks 5 days.
This is me just before leaving for the hospital. Had to take a shower, of course.
Then a short 9 hours later he was here, he could breath on his own, he no longer needed me for air.
We took him home and he relied on me for food. Which blows my mind, I gave him milk so he wasn't thirsty, I gave him milk so he wasn't hungry, he still needed me.
Then suddenly he was eating food, and didn't need as much milk from me. He stepped a bit further from me.
He's starting to read and do math, which blows my mind! This one is just from February he's moved on to just numbers and no pictures...say what?!
He's getting so big, he's going to be taller than me before I know it!
All this to say, that each day he becomes a little more independent. Each day he takes a metaphorical step away from me. I know this is part of parenting and kids growing up, that he's going to grow up and someday leave the nest (Go read Lana's post about her last son leaving the nest)...but I wish I could keep him little. I know there are rough days when I want to throw my hands in the air and say I QUIT! But in reality those moments are short and at the end of the day I want to keep him sweet and innocent. He's my first Baby and registering him for Kindergarten this week is going to kill me. I probably won't shed a tear, but I'll feel sad that he just takes one more step away from me to his own independence.
What I hope for him; is that we give him a good strong foundation. One that is of love, understanding, patience and that he always carries God in his heart. I hope that he continues wants to help others and see the good in others in a world that quite frankly is getting a little scary. I hope that when he becomes an adult he goes out into the world and makes a difference, that he carries The Light where ever he goes.
I know I'm rambling, but things just got real over here, my Baby is starting Kindergarten in 5 months!

He was walking and talking up a storm and finding his little personality, now he could run away if he wanted, luckily he never did ;)
Then he went to pre-school, I didn't cry, but was totally emotional.
Now he's currently in his second year of preschool.
He's starting to read and do math, which blows my mind! This one is just from February he's moved on to just numbers and no pictures...say what?!

Style Perspectives Week 4: Printed Blouse with Neutrals and Hair Challenge Week 12
Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! Another week with the Style Perspective with The Blended Blog. Today Abbie from Grumbling Grace is talking Printed Blouse with Neutrals, go check out her post here.
My neutral today was my olive jeans, those are neutral right? And my favorite black and white polka dot shirt, because those sleeves, love them.
And guess what I actually styled my extensions! It was so much fun to have more hair to braid and play with. I used this tutorial, but instead of pinning it up, I left it down. I think it turned out super cute.
The necklace was a Valentine's Gift back when Baby Fox was 1, There is a gold heart inside that Mr. had engraved with Baby Fox's Name and Mr.'s name.
In case you missed it, last week all the ladies styled my prompt which was white pants! Didn't everyone do great?! Which one is your favorite?
I can't believe that it's week 12 of the hair challenge. I have to admit the last two weeks have been a bit hard. I'm not sure why, maybe I feel like I'm curling my hair too much but then styling my hair without the curl is hard. Perhaps I should throw caution to the wind go for it and then just chop my hair at the end of this whole thing...
Thursday I did a chucky braid, my favorite way to style my hair if we're being honest.
I wanted to do my hair for our date night on Friday, but ran out of time to do make up and hair in 30 minutes. Saturday I knew I wanted to try the box fishtail out. I think it turned out pretty good, next time I'm going to try to take smaller pieces and be more precise with where I take and were I put, so that it comes out a box, instead of a twisty box.
Sunday for church I wore my hair in lace braid, it was super fun to wear. Although I'm not sure how people deal with that hair on the far side that doesn't quite reach...
And Monday and Tuesday I was just not feeling the hair thing, so I went with down and messy. Half way through Monday I just got annoyed that it was in my face, so I threw it up in a haphazard bun, which I had no rubberbands just a few bobby pins. This was my resulting hair, even though it looks horrible, I'm showing you anyway! Just call me mushroom head.

Weekend Recap
I figured Tuesday is just a good of a day as any to do a recap right? We were super busy this weekend, lots of fun things to do!
Friday I took a half day from work so we could finally celebrate Mr. He was actually sick on his birthday so we canceled everything so he could sleep and rest. Poor thing. We went to the movies. We LOVE the Divergent Series, so we went to see that. I told Mr. to buy tickets in advance, but we so didn't need to, a 2pm movie on opening day, apparently not a big deal. There were about 20 people in the theater.
After dinner we headed to Mastros, have you been there? It's AMAZING! It's our go to we're getting out of the house and want a fancy dinner place to go. Our view. The picture doesn't do it justice, that blue fuzzy stuff out there is ocean. It was a gorgeous day out!
Saturday they were having Easter our at neighborhood park. So we hit that up after breakfast. So nice to just walk up a few houses and be at a park. We got there just as everyone was going to "hunt" for eggs.
The Easter Bunny (according to Baby Fox, he was the Easter Bunny helper, not the real deal)
Then a lot of bounce house happened.
At first she was only interested in eating eggs...only when we cut her off did she join in on the bounce house fun.
Suddenly this girl learned how to climb up the ladder, say what? When did she get that big?!
They both got their arms painted.
After we were done we headed over to a neighbors open house. Funny enough we have been talking online for 6 months but had never met. We met because discovered she was moving into my neighborhood and both of our kids are the same age. Another bounce house happened here too, forgot to take pictures.
Then we headed back for naps and dinner.
Sunday after church we headed to a friends house for a friends Easter celebration. Giving the kids instructions on the Easter Egg hunt.
And of course we needed a group shot, in which we stacked several kiddie chairs on a table and used other cell phones to prop the picture taking cell phone up.
When we got home I was taking an outfit picture and Baby Fox was outside with me and I told him to jump in the pool to see if he could save himself. So he jumped into the 67° pool, perhaps it was the fact that he has wanted a snorkel for the past year and I told him we would buy one if he jumped in and showed us. So he did. Right around this picture, he rolled over to see how much further he had to go and he had that moment of panic in his eyes, and I almost jumped in after him, but he composed himself, rolled back around and got to the side.
He made it! We were so proud of him. Granted I have no idea what he would do if I just pushed him randomly in, but that just seems mean. Hopefully now he knows what it feels like to swim with clothes on. Perhaps when it's summer and the pool is warmer I might tell him I'll do it one day. We'll see after a few more swim lessons.
But for now I'm more confident that at least he would drown immediately, of course this doesn't mean we would EVER allow him in the pool without one of us there, but at least we see that he can swim with clothes on, and I think it was also a confidence booster for him that he could swim with his clothes on.
My parents and sister came over for dinner, which I didn't take any pictures, oops!
How was your weekend? Have you tried having your kid jump in the pool with all of his clothes on?

and then a real bunny showed up. So soft and cuddly.
I promised Baby Fox to take him rock climbing so we headed to the gym afterwards.

Love these ladies! I think we have perfected the selfie picture...
These kids are just too cute. Love them so much!

Gotta have a silly picture right?
