Kids Behind the Blog: March Edition

Linking up with Crystal, Beth, Meghan, Jessica, and Stephanie for Kids Behind the Blog. Such a great link up because we are always showing them off on the blog, but never really ask them questions, so here it goes:

Baby Fox Age: 5 years 2 months
Mini Fox Age: 2 years 6 months

Baby Fox:

That's an ice cream sundae, half eaten

What do you enjoy doing with Mommy and Daddy?

Baby Fox: Spending time with you
Me: Doing what?
Baby Fox: Spending time going to the mall
Me: Anything else?
Baby Fox: And when we get to have family time

Melt my heart with that last statement.

Name one thing you are really good at? Running!

What is one thing that Mommy and Daddy tell you often? Not to do bad things

What do you want to be when you grow up? DOCTOR!!!!! (said very enthusiastically)

What do you think Mommy and Daddy do when you go to bed at night? Do the dishes...and watch TV.

Of course had to film it, mostly so I could capture their answers, and why not show you right?

Mini Fox Kids Behind the blog March from Foxy's Domestic Side on Vimeo.

Mini Fox:

Also eating ice cream, no chocolate sauce, I know, clearly not related to me!

What do you enjoy doing with Mommy and Daddy? I like going to the park!

Name one thing you are really good at? To Patty!

(translation: She is nice to the person who watches her during the day, she's been super mean to hear lately and we've had countless talks with her about it)

What is one thing that Mommy and Daddy tell you often? Use my words

(this sort of goes with the one above and being mean and using her words instead of hitting)

What do you want to be when you grow up? Get big and wear big dresses

#goals, haha

What do you think Mommy and Daddy do when you go to bed at night?

Mini Fox: Wear diapers at night time.
Me: What else do you think?
Mini Fox: Get color pieces of paper and send them to Grandma

(Say what? Where did she get that idea?)

And of course the video that Mini Fox did.

Kids Behind the Blog and Picture Perfect: June Edition

Today you get a double hitter. It just happens that Kids Behind the Blog and Picture Perfect land within a day of each other and I already had something planned, so I figured, they both have to do with my kids, lets combine them!

First up is the Picture Perfect Project. I decided to make this about capturing an intentional pictures for the yearly calendar we do for the grandparents. I know they look forward to getting them, and last year was a disaster and super hard to find a picture for each month. So this year, I decided to take an intentional picture I was going to use for the calendar. This past weekend we were at the Lake, so what's more appropraite for a June Calendar than a picture by the water? It was taken with my iPhone, but I love it, it's just so sweet.

Next up Kids Behind the Blog with Crystal, Beth, Meghan, Jessica, and Stephanie. While I we were at the Lake I asked the kids a few questions. Their answers were so cute.

Friday Favorites #107

Monday: Kids Behind the Blog - March Edition
Wednesday: Maxi Dress Combo and How I Tease My Hair
Thursday: Girl Chat - Luck

Bonus Thursday: Over on The Blended Blog talking about styling a pearl necklace two ways

Don't forget to watch my new Hair 101 video series I've started. So far we've covered how to use a bobby pin and how to tease your hair, if you have any requests let me know and I'll work on it for you!

Last weekend was the started our first baseball season. Practices on Friday and games on Saturdays. Next weekend Mini Fox starts soccer so we're going to be knee deep in kid sports in a week...

Baby Fox was the cutest little baseball player ever.

Getting ready for pictures:

Then came opening parade all the kids were too cute.

Then a couple of hours later we played the longest game ever...who knew 4 innings would take 2 hours!

He loved it and can't wait for his next practice and game today and tomorrow.

This past week we did a playdate on Sunday, it was so much fun, just us mom and the kids. The play place we went to was super small, so no matter where you were standing you could see your kids, so we actually got to chat...which was great for a change. And I only took one picture, darn. The kids were so cute too. This girl is showing me good form.

Then we headed to lunch, the kids were great and we got to chat some more.

That night we got invited to go see a show at the Improv, it started out shaky but had me laughing at parts. So happy to have found some friends where we live that we can go on double dates with. Super hard to find other couples with kids where everyone gets along right?

As always, I'm linking up with The Blended Blog on Friday Loves, where we link up our favorite things from around the blog world. Because we all know we need just one more blog to read on the daily.

I loved how these four ladies copied each others looks. Each of them did a fabulous job styling outfits that looked like each other. Check out who copied who.

I just discovered Cecila's blog recently and she has the best crafts, DIY's, recipes, home stuff, what can she not do? She has a series of 15 minutes fixes and this week she show cased a St. Patrick's Day pennant banner. Super cute and most stuff you probably have on hand, why am I even buying this stuff from the $1/$3 section of Target, I could just make it!

As always, some videos I've been loving this week. This one made me cry...happy tears. We as mothers are so hard on ourselves, we ONLY see what we do wrong, how we feel inside, meanwhile all the little humans we're raising, really only see the good things we do and rarely remember the mistakes. So cut yourself some slack, I know I'm going to try to.

This was super cute, they bought fast food and then had to reinvent it into different food, and then serve it to someone...they are the cutest couple, and awesome singers too, so there's that.

What are you up to this weekend? We have baseball and ballet...then we'll see what other kind of trouble we can get ourselves into.

Friday Favorites #125

In case you missed it this week:

Monday: Kids Behind The Blog
Tuesday: Our weekend in 10 photos
Wednesday: Cold Shoulder Summer Outfit
Thursday: Girl Chat: One Million Dollars

I didn't post a new video this week, but I did showcase this braid with my outfit on Wednesday. It's super easy, so check out how to do it, or click here to go directly to the video.

Yesterday I went to surprise a friend who was in town, she didn't know myself and another friend were going to be there. It was so fun to surprise her and then get to chat the day away. Plus I got to leave work early, so there is that. We went to the Rooftop in Laguna Beach, if you are ever in the area go there it has the best view....see...

We enjoyed some drinks, appetizers and talked the afternoon away.

I haven't seen this girl in at least 10 years, it was so nice to hug her and catch up. There wasn't enough time, we need more time!

This girl I've known since 7th grade, we took selfies while waiting for the other two to show up so we could surprise our friend.

This girl I've known since she transferred to our school in 9th grade. I was one of her first friends, when she moved and am so glad she was my partner in English I think it was.

We chatted, we ate and chatted some more. Then took a short walk to the beach to snap a few photos and to make the afternoon last a little longer.

Love this picture here.

Thanks for organizing the surprise, it was so much fun. Let's not let 10 years pass before we see each other again!

I'm excited to link up again this month with Kristin from Taz and Belly for her Little Letters series

Dear Cough,
You are not appreciated. Please vacate, you are no longer wanted, and I'm tired of feeling like I'm hacking up a lung.

Dear Amazon,
Thank you for Amazon Prime day, I know it's probably the same deals as normal, but thanks for letting me think I'm getting a super good deal, I really needed those running shoes.

Dear Ear Infection,
You can vacate my daughter now, you are no longer wanted here. She's had a fever for 5 days now, please leave, we're sending in some amoxicillin as back up. You were warned.

Dear Junior High Friends,
I had a total blast hanging out with you last night. It was just like old times, like no time has passed. I love that it might have been 10 years since we last saw each other but it seemed like just yesterday. Let's not let that much time pass between us again. I miss you, and love you and can't wait for our girls trip next year. We will make it happen!

Dear Kiss lashes from Walmart,
I love you, that's all.

Dear Chemistry Lab (summer class Baby Fox is taking),
Thank you for being so fun and getting him excited about science. It makes this mama's heart soar when I hear how much he loves it.

Dear Dad,
Thanks for taking Baby Fox to Chem lab, I know you love the time with him, but it would be much harder to get him to all these fun things without you.

Dear Alexa,
I admit I didn't want you, but you're sort of fun to ask random things to, like why the sky is blue. I like that I can ask you to play any song and you do, will make cooking better.

Dear Heat,
Thank you for only staying for a week, I appreciate that. Please give us a few more days of nice weather before you start up again.

This week I am sharing my Friday favorites over on the The Blended Blog. So go over and check out some more favorites over there.

First up is Sarah from Tucker Up. She had her super handy hubby create these pipe shelves in a few hours, how cool does this space look now?

This next one is more for my selfish reason, because, extra entry, heck ya. But head over to Mel's blog at The Larson Lingo, for a chance to win $250 for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Giveaway ends next Friday so you have time to shop the sale with the gift card...can't win if you don't enter!

Have you heard of The Kids Behind the Blog? Hosts CrystalBethMeghanJessica, and Stephanie  host the link up every second Wednesday of the month. I did one on Monday, but I just love this link up, if you aren't doing it, write it down on your calendar to do it next month. Here is the schedule  August 9 | September 13 | October 11 | November 8 | December 13. It's fun to look back at your kids answers over the years, now go see what the questions are and link up next month!

Friday Favorites #91

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! Seriously this week, can it go any slower?! Longest week ever, but thankfully it's Friday!

In case you missed it on the blog this week:

Monday: Halloween Wreath
Tuesday: Kids Behind the Blog, asking the kids all about Halloween
Wednesday: Fall Boot Round Up
Thursday: I co-hosted with Carrie and Jill for their Thursday Fashion Files, so much fun joining them.

Last Saturday was finally the big Autumn Reflections for Thomas House. I briefly spoke about their cause in this post. I went to the gala last year and was so moved by everything that they were doing I volunteered to help organize this years gala. I'm so freakin' proud of everyone involved, we had a goal then our stretch goal, which we really didn't think, just hoped we could reach and we knocked it out of the park...double our stretch goal people! I couldn't be more proud of everyone I worked with, even though I was the tiniest of parts, I'm so happy we raised so much money for the kids and their families.

I attempted to do my hair for the event, not exactly how I wanted it, but didn't really have the time to fiddle around too much. I think it turned out pretty good. I was trying to copy Abby's Lace Braid Up do, they seriously make it look so easy...news flash, it is not.

At least it looked good from the front. This lipstick is the Colourpop, so far I'm not too impressed, but I'll keep trying some of the other stuff... keep you posted.

The room all set up.

The flowers that I brought...and to be clear I did not arrange them, someone else did that, they just did it at my house. I cheered them on and helped clean up.

The even started outside with a silent auction, I think about 230 people showed up.

Congratulations Thomas House for such a successful evening, you deserve it!

While we were out my parents watched the kids and they got spoiled. My mom decided that she was going to do the pink curlers in her hair, so freaking cute.

But...you knew there was a but, my mom didn't tell her what was going to happen in the morning. Well this three year old thought the curlers were going to stay in for forever...legit forever, like she didn't want to take them off. Cue the 20 minute melt down where she was near hyperventilating, luckily Mr. finally calmed her down and we were able to make it to church on time...wasn't expect that...

Excuse the mess in the back ground.

Wednesday Baby Fox had the day off from school so him and Mini Fox went to breakfast

This video...hilarious...

They followed breakfast up with play at their favorite play place. They said it was the best day ever.

You guys, finally after 7 years living in our house, and countless times at the park by ourselves, FINALLY younger people are moving into our neighborhood! This past week we've met up with the same people at the park, and the kids just have a blast together, we're there till we can't see anything any more, and they kids just want more. I'm so excited that the kids have more kids in the neighborhood and that they all get along.

Yep that is Mini Fox in a fake blonde wig...haha, whatever floats her boat right?

So excited for the many play dates ahead...the kids get along and the moms are awesome, I'm so stoked (I know, no one says that any more...but I do when super excited).

This...I want this all day long...someone invite me to a Halloween Party.

Please someone do this in my neighborhood...pretty please.
