Tutu Fun

Remember the tutu I made? If you forgot, it looked like this:

I told you that it was part of Mini Fox's Halloween costume, but last minute, we decided to change her costume, but I couldn't let this perfectly cute tutu go to waste, so I did what anyone else would do, cute photo shoot with my girl!

So her original Halloween costume idea: A cute little pumpkin!

Big Brother wanted in on the action, his hat was from my brother and sister-in-law, it doesn't quite fit Mini Fox, so naturally I put it on Baby Fox

Those cheeks...I die!
Brother and SIL also sent this onesie for Mini Fox, of course the tutu went perfect with this outfit too, so...another photo shoot!

Nana bought the cute headband and shoes

Now you'll just want to wait for her actually Halloween costume, I know you can't wait.

Hint: Mr. wanted a family theme, like the last two years (1 and 2), that's why we changed Mini Fox's costume

Swiss Cheese House

Hey sorry I've been MIA lately. The simple slab leak turned into a complete re-plumbing job. This is how my house currently looked last week:

The plumbers came and just threw everything into one room, literally

I about had a heart attack when I saw all of these holes in my walls and ceilings. The amount of dust and dry wall floating around is insane, I might go insane trying to clean it all up.  On a positive note, our water gets hot mega fast.

Life Lately

Everyday I want to blog, and then the seconds, minutes, hours just wiz by me and suddenly it's dark, we're eating dinner and trying not to fall asleep in the meantime. We're in full blown wow, I don't remember having a newborn being this hard phase. Hopefully we're in the home stretch, but as of now that looks unlikely.

We're still alive and well, so no worries, I am thinking of you guys and hoping to get back to your regularly schedule programming soon. Here's a picture of my Mini Fox, when she finally decides to fall asleep, which during the day is few and far between.

Last night I went to my parents for dinner, Mr. decided to stay home since little miss was let's just say fussy most of the day, and I was out bonding with Baby Fox, so I decided he deserved a break. But when I got home I found this:

and

it doesn't look like much, but these two tables were a mess when I left, he cleaned up, put away the laundry and just made things look nice. It was so refreshing to come home to a straightened up house.

In other news, we have a leak. It started on Friday night, and we've had our water turned off since then, yep, 3 days...we turn it one once or twice a day to refresh water buckets and stuff, but for the most part it's off. We're hoping to get it fixed sometime this week, but it's a slab leak, so it's a major job. It feels like we're camping but worse because we have real beds and stuff, but now water. Strange how we take for granted the simple things in life, like fresh water.

I am in the process of making Mimi Fox's Halloween costume:

I still have some parts to buy, I'll keep you posted. Have a good week!!

Halloween Wreath

Happy Friday!

Okay so everyday for me is Friday, but for those of you who can remember what day of the week it is, hope you have a great weekend planned. I don't have much to post, but I thought that I would re-post and remind everyone decorating for Halloween to check out my awesome Monster Wreath Tutorial. Super easy, and fun for the door too!

P.S. If you want to just buy a 6" spool of the tulle, instead of cutting it yourself, I found a good website that sells it, go there, it's only $2.95 for 25 yards, deal and a half I'm telling ya!

Weekend Recap

Hi All! I'm actually on the computer and have about 10 minutes to write a quick recap of our weekend. Woo hoo for Mr. holding Mini Fox so I can blog for a few minutes.

I survived my first day alone with the kids! I was supposed to have a couple of playdate on Friday, but everyone cancelled, boo. But I'm still here, so all is well. How could I not with these cute faces in front of me.

Yes Mini Fox is crying, but it was because she was slightly hungry, but Baby Fox was being so cute, I had to snap a picture, just as she started to cry, opps!

But then Baby Fox, leaned in for a kiss, and she forgot she was hungry, cute sibling love.

Daddy's home and he missed both his kids while at work. Picture just before swim time!

Baby Fox is fed and in bed and now Daddy's getting some good cuddle time with his girl. Yep this one loves awkward head positions, just like her big brother did. So weird.

Saturday we decided to go on a family outing to Krispy Kreme, show Baby Fox how donuts are made, he loved it. The last time we tried to give him donuts, he licked the frosting off and left the donut part.

This time he actually ate the donut, they give out free donuts when they're being made, score!

Mr. got his favorite, Apple Fritter

We let Baby Fox pick out one donut, he picked the one with chocolate and colored sprinkles.

He decided he just liked the chocolate and the sprinkle part, picked them off, and ate just that

We also had some visitors - Mr.'s best friend and his girlfriend, they brought food and diapers...yay!

And my aunt and uncle came, this is the same aunt that helped deliver Baby Fox, and tried to be there for Mini Fox, but got there slightly too late. Doh!

She brought her famous spaghetti - this is Mr.'s third helping, I finally slowed him down enough to get a picture.

Sunday, everyone went home and it was just us again. Don't worry, Baby Fox isn't totally squishing Mini Fox, barely.

We stared at this cute face a LOT this weekend. Still trying to figure out how not to get her to throw up after eating, but I think we're almost there, keeping fingers crossed, we get SOME sleep this week.

How was your weekend?

First of Many

Today is my first day without help.
I love how much Baby Fox loves his little sister, he can't stop kissing and hugging her.
Wish me luck, I can do this!

Canvas Name Wall Hanging

While searching around the internet of baby girl decorations, I kept coming across these fabric covered squares with letters on them. I thought, I could probably do that myself. So I set out to do just that.

I found the fabric on Etsy, through this lady, bought some canvases, some letters, paint and I went to town.

Part 1 - Fabric Covered Canvas

What You'll Need:
  • Canvas - Our name needed 8 (tip, if you don't want to take 5 million trips to Hobby Lobby to use the 40% off coupon, wait for the penny sale at Aaron Brothers, it's slightly cheaper and you can get all the canvases at once)
  • Fabric - I happened to buy a pack with 3 different types, but you can do as many or little as you like
  • Scissors or quilting blade
  • Staple gun

Step 1 - Cut the Fabric

The square I picked were 10 x 10 inches, so I wanted to make sure that I had plenty of space to wrap around the sides, each of my sides were about 1/2 inch, so I made each of my squares 14 inches, just to be on the safe side, it was more then enough.

You really don't have to be exact with this, but since I have the quilting stuff, I did, but as long as it's enough fabric to wrap, just go for it.

Step 2 - Wrap the Fabric

I wrapped the edges like a gift, but you can do it however you want.

Part 2 - Paint the Letters

What You'll Need:
  • Letters (we got ours from Hobby Lobby, they were about $2.99 each)
  • Paint (we had some fabric that we are going to use on a chair, so I brought that, and had Home Depot color match it, they have these really small sample jars you can buy, it was $3, for custom color? Yes Please!)
  • Paint Brush

Step 1 - Paint the letters

We had some staples on the back of our letters, so remove those, then we just started painting. We did have to do two coats.

Can you guess the name?

Part 3 - Glue The Letters

What You'll Need:
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • An Uncle that helps you with the project
Step 1 - Glue down

Okay this is really important, if you haven't paid attention, pay attention right now. You have to do this lightening fast! I did it too slow, and then had to scrape the glue off (okay Mr. did it, but whatever)

Know where you are going to place the letter before you glue, I measured how far down I wanted the letter on the square and where I wanted it center wise (I actually put scotch tape down to mark where I wanted the letter to go, so when I glued, I could just flip and place.)

You also need to not be stingy with the glue, go ahead and use it!

My uncle was the quality control guy, he waited for it to dry and then pulled on it to make sure they were really down there. He had to return one of them, hence why Mr. was scraping off glue.

And here is the finished product. We have yet to hang them in her room, since we just got Baby Fox's new dresser delivered while we were in the hospital, and switching furniture around, etc...it will get done, just as soon as I decide where I want them.

No her name is not Isa Bella...it's Isabella, but it was too long to put in one frame of the camera...didn't realize how much space it was going to take up! Oops, hence why I'm having problems deciding where they go.
