Friday Favorites #30

Happy Friday! So happy it's the weekend! Saturday I'm going to take some picture for a friend's company party, it's on a boat going out of Newport, so excited for that. I hope they like the pictures, wish me luck! Here are some fun things happening over here.

First this is happening today! The list was released today and I'm so excited. It's not too late to join, head over to Alison's blog to check it out. As always my Style Blogger friends are linking up this go around too, come link up with us, it will be fun! Also the Style Girls and I are going to host another giveaway, so make sure to come back to check that out in a couple of weeks.

Have you downloaded the app Like Parent? It's super funny, not particularly accurate, but fun to play around with anyway. Pretty self explanatory how it works from the picture below right?

Baby Fox is sick...poor guy, so when he asked to go to Yogurtland before dinner, I couldn't help but say yes. #yesmom

Mini Fox's first time getting her own, she was in heaven.

Evidence

Love the interview I did with Baby Fox this week, in case you missed yesterdays post, here it is again, I can't get enough of this kid. And the fact that he spent most of the interview upside down. Hilarious.

I stayed home on Wednesday and got some good snuggles in with the kids. Yes I'm wearing workout clothes, I figured I'm eventually getting to the gym today, so might as well

I'd also like to mention that it's my brother's birthday today! He lives in Vegas now, but we miss him like crazy!

Any big plans for the weekend? Let me know in the comments below!

Hi, Hi! Today is my "Friday" Yay! Three days off, I love three day weekends, they are the best. Last week I posted a video so I figured, why not post another one, maybe it will become a thing. Who knows! What do you think? Would you watch them?

Anyway, I saw this questionnaire going around on FB yesterday and thought, why not film Baby Fox, instead of just asking and writing down the answer. If you want to do this with your kid, and you post it on your blog, leave a link in the comments so I can check it out! Show and Tell Tuesday: When I Grow Up

It's another Show and Tell Tuesday with Andrea, and today's topic is: When I Grow Up.

I talked about it a bit here, but for those new here, just keep reading, for those that are regular readers...well maybe you forgot what I said up there in that link and you'll keep reading anyway.

From a very young age I adored animals, I loved all cats, dogs, horses, everything...except reptiles, those I'm not totally keen on.  I was going to turn down reptiles of course, they could go see a reptile specialist or something.

I wanted to be a Veterinarian with every fiber of my being. I was 100% sure that I was going to be a Veterinarian. I was going to help all those cute furry animals get better.

via
When I was about 7 I was in my backyard laying on the pool deck getting warm after swimming when I cute furry neighborhood cat came over the fence. He sat down right next to me and I of course hugged him and nestled my face into his fur. I then got up and walked to the house and by the time I got to the house my face had swollen, my eyes were almost swollen shut and everything itched like crazy. I remember my mom having to put oven mits on my hands so I wouldn't scratch my face off. It lasted most of the evening, I was really allergic to cats, makes for a bad Vet right? Remember my allergy test? Yep cats and dogs was one of the welts on the far upper left. Dream Dead.

After that I remember being in 4th grade and reading one of those stories during English and one of the stories had a little boy wanting to be a ichthyologist, there was a footnote and it said that an ichthyologist was someone who studied fish. For whatever reason that always stuck. Then I saw the movie Jaws and instead of being scared I was fascinated.

I knew then I wanted to be a shark biologist/ichthyologist and study sharks and fish.  I just knew that's what I was going to be. It was still dealing with animals and I was going to save the world. Okay not really, I just knew that I wanted to study sharks, their behavior, everything about them. I wanted to be that for a good 6 years, and then I went kayaking with my uncle in Santa Barbara and realized how deathly afraid of the ocean I was. We were kayaking out past the pier and all of a sudden I was scared, I was so scared and I thought, if I fall out of this kayak I might not be able to get back in I'm so scared. For a while I wanted to to send other people in the cages to get the data, and I would just analyze it...my sister made fun of me to no end because of this. Dream Dead.

Around my junior year of high school I going to work with my dad, as I did during the summers (he was a medical sales man so he drove a lot). I remember we were driving near downtown LA and I was looking at all of the impressive buildings and thought, I think it would be cool to design the wiring and lighting in those buildings. My dad looks at me and said you should look into becoming an Electrical Engineer when you go to college (don't confuse this for an electrician). And that's exactly what I did. I went to school to become an Electrical Engineer because I wanted to work with architects and design buildings.

And that brings me to where I am today, sort of. But that's a story for a different day. And yes I do know what all of those symbols mean and do use some of them in my everyday work.

Dare Devil Weekend

Hello Monday and June! What?!? June? How did that happend? Friday we got some good cuddle time in while watching Tinkerbell and the Neverbeast, it was a cute movie.

Saturday there wasn't a hike, not sure what we're going to do, where we use to hike, they have started to ticket people who park on the street and the parking lot doesn't open until 8am, which is usually when we're finishing our hike. Guess it's going to get us to try something new. All that to say, I decided to go for a run. 4.5 miles, this is about mile 1.25 (so said my phone when I stopped to take this photo).

I got home took a quick shower and then headed out with Baby Fox to get our hair cuts. His was up first. He just likes going because he it's the only time he gets to play video games.

Silly boy

We had about 30 minutes before my appointment (don't worry, not at the same place), so of course we had to check out the new Nordstrom Rack they put in next door. I do believe they did this on purpose. When did my son turn 10? Geez, he looks so old in this picture!

Yep remember how I went for that run, we I didn't wash my hair because I figured I would be getting my hair done. It was a greasy mess, up in a bun it went.

We found the most awesome fur vest for Mini Fox. Originally $65 marked down to $9, I couldn't NOT get it right? Back at my hair appointment, I was going to drop Baby Fox at the gym kids club, but it was so packed and Baby Fox was crying so I just took him with me. Us waiting for my appointment to start.

He was really good the whole time, just sat in the next chair for the 45 minutes it took. After that I thought he deserved a treat. Can you guess where we went? I've never seen them do this before, so I took a video for you.

If you guessed Krispy Kreme then you would be correct!

Baby Fox was fascinated with the frosting.

More picture, this is the only picture I got with my hair all done, oops! Baby Fox wanted to be front and center.

After we got back, we headed out to my cousins house for some swimming and family time.

Mini Fox seriously has NO FEAR! She's definitely our little Dare Devil.

Took a video of all of the kids jumping in the water. They said they were having the diving board taken out, so this will probably be the last time we play with it. It was fun. (they just moved into their house 3 weeks ago).

As we the adults were sitting around talking, we got a glimsp of what it's going to be like when all the kids get a little bigger. All of us sitting around talking, while the kids play with each other, it was awesome that the older 3 were perfectly content playing with each other.

Sunday we went to Target

What happens when you bring the whole family to Target, the husband goofs off with the kids.

Then we went to the grocery store, love that this girl will still stay in the carrier with me.

Doesn't everyone wearing orange goggles to the store? We just picked these up for $1.99, you should too, they're perfect and if they get lost no big deal. We can't find Baby Fox's whale goggles, darn!

We did the usual swim lessons, but there was a mix up and we didn't bring  swim bag with us on our errands, so we bought Baby Fox some swim trunks at the swim place, and then I drove home to get a towel and soap and stuff, which made me miss most of his lesson. Ah well, lesson learned, don't assume the other person got the swim bag. After naps we headed to my parents for dinner. I love that I haven't had to cook 2 Sundays in a row, Thank You Parents!

Another great weekend, I love spending time with my cousins, funny enough 4 of my cousins just bought new houses, there must be something in their water!
