Style Me Blogger - My Summer Go-To Style

The Style Me Bloggers are back and we're talking about what our go-to summer styles are. I always find myself grabbing for the same outfits. So here we go.

This skirt is on repeat right now. I actually wore it on Monday to work with a tucked in tee and a jean jacket. I wanted to wear my vest but sometimes the office is cold, and I thought it was weird to wear a jean vest and then a jacket or sweater over that.

This top is on repeat for sure, and it's on sale right now! I think it deserves it's own category, seriously, I love this shirt so much in fact that I've just gotten it in another color. Seriously it's so comfortable, everyone needs one! And the high sides, just a little flirty for summer, but you can always wear a camisole under it too, a little pop of color on the side, cute, cute, cute.

On repeat: tops and bright or patterned shorts. I'm sort of digging the lose fit shirts right now, I can eat a lot and when I get hot my clothes aren't sticking to me.

My kimono's, I think it has to be on my summer go to list. It's a great completer piece (as some of those fashion people would say), but they are light weight for those nights out with friends and family. I feel like these outfits would be so boring without the kimonos.

This kimono is only $12, so if you're on the fence about them, get this one, not too expensive, super cute and not breaking the bank if you don't like it.

This one I got off of Jane.com and they don't have it any more. But if they do I'll let you guys know.

Last year I was all about the long maxi skirts, this year is all about the short sun dresses. Add a sweater, jean jacket, my new jean vest, statement necklace and call it a day.

What's your favorite summer style? Go check out my other bloggy besties to find out what their go to looks are.

3 Reasons You Should Go Sky Diving + a Vlog

It's Thursday and I have another Vlog for you. I wasn't that great at vlogging all of Saturday, but I did most of it. Mostly I really enjoyed the day with my family. After driving over 200 miles in one day, we got home and said, that was the most perfect day. We got to spend the whole day with our family, got to see my cousins and aunts and uncles and just really relax and have a good day.

Here's my experience sky diving.

I'm not going to lie, I was scared. I tried not to think about it too much, but how can you not. The only reason I actually went through with it, was because the first time my Dad did it, as soon as his feet hit the ground he said, when can I do that again! Literally the ONLY reason I did this was because he loved it that much! And you know it's a good bonding experience for us. Not that we needed it.

Want to know the scariest part of it? The 15 minute plane ride up to the drop spot. We're in this tiny plane, sitting on the floor, barely enough room for the 4 of us to sit. I decided to go first, I thought, if I don't go first I might not jump,  which put me right next to the rolling see through door. I thought I might have a heart attack, literally, my chest was pounding, my hands were sweaty. I tell the guy I'm jumping with I might have a heart attack I'm so nervous, he says "don't worry if you pass out I can still land us safely, I've done it before" I thought, holy cow, please don't let that be me, please don't let that be me.

Seconds before we jump, I vow to myself I will not be that person to pass out. I try to step out onto "platform" above the wheel (I say platform for lack of better work, it was just a 8" x 18" plate on top of the wheel. Just enough to put a foot or two before you jump. He told me to get both feet on that platform, so I was concentrating on that and before I knew it, he pushed us off and we were flying in the air. We were instructed to keep our chin up and to kick our feet back, like we were trying to kick him in the butt.

If you're wondering, I kept expecting to feel that roller coaster feeling but I never did. I was looking up when we jumped, so I just saw sky and then we were falling and really you have no frame of reference so you never feel that roller coaster feeling. Before I knew it he pulled the chute and we were just floating in the sky. That was the best part, looking at the fog covered coastline with bits of ocean peaking through.

Okay my last ditch effort to get you guys to try sky diving:

It's a great experience/ way to bond with a friend or family member. Nothing beats doing something so adventurous with someone you love. It's something you'll get to share forever.

The view from up in the sky...worth it. You get to be a bird for the 5 minutes that you're floating down. If you do it, go somewhere really pretty. I think it would be awesome to jump in Hawaii, how pretty would that be?

It just sounds impressive, like yep, I went sky diving. Makes you sound way more adventurous than you are. But really does give you a sense of accomplishment. Like I did that, I didn't think I could and I did it, I can do anything if I set my mind to it.

It was an awesome experience that I wouldn't change for the world. You ask if I would do it again? I would, but I don't think I am the type that would go seek it out again. If someone said, hey I want to go sky diving for the first time would you go with me, I would without hesitation. But I don't think I would do it on my own just to do it. If you do want to go, check out your Living Socials and Groupons near you, that's how we got our tickets and it was so much cheaper.

If you made it this far, congrats! I leave you with the Vlog from the day. I didn't add in much sky diving stuff since I made a separate video for that.

Have a great Thursday, only one more day of work, woo hoo!

My Love For Graphic Tees

The last week with the Style Bloggers for the Summer Challenge, feel free to link up any outfit of choice, we'd love to get some more ideas!

Day 17

I'm pretty much in love with this graphic tee. It's from Target and it's only $12.99, win win.

I also love these cute fox earrings, I also have a matching ring, which you'll see later this post.

Day 18

Simple dress, simple necklace, super easy to throw on and look like you're totally put together.

This girl wanted in on the pictures too.

Day 19

Here's my favorite black shirt again. Many of you guys have been asking where I got it, it's from Nordstroms and it's on sale right now for $20, got get one stat.

Day 20

I love white on white, but my white shorts and the white tank that I own don't look good together. So I skipped this outfit. But here's another white on white that I've done. Bad picture, but what can ya do?

Day 21

The last outfit of the challenge was super easy, yet makes you look totally put together. Simple dress, statement earrings. I think I need to get a few more statement earrings to add to my growing collection (meaning the three pairs that I own). You know I think adding my new jean vest would look really good with this too.

Had to do the silly ring picture for ya all. I should have turned the ring around, see how they match the earrings from above? Pretty much anything that has a fox on it, I buy it. Mini and Baby Fox have a ridiculous amount of Fox clothing.

Something I will never be... a hand model...man my hand are ugly, and are in desperate need of nail polish. When do you guys find the time to paint your nails and let them dry before something or someone needs you?

Things I learned from this challenge:

Even though this is my 6 challenge I'm still learning new styles that I thought I wouldn't like...for example the jean vest...my favorite now! I want to pair it with everything. I got the vest late in the game, but I'm sure you'll be seeing this on repeat.

And the graphic tee. These are the looks I put together for this challenge but don't think that I haven't already gone out and bought a couple more graphic tees.

Now go check out my other bloggy besties to see what they thought of the Summer Challenge.

Show and Tell Tuesday - Show Us your Beauty Routine

Hi! Remember when I tried to do the Get Ready With Me and Failed? Well I still haven't redone another video, but I thought since Andrea was asking, I would tell you what products I do use. I'm going to be honest with you, I wake up at 4:30 everyday for work, I work in a cave that has no windows and I rarely go outside. That being said I keep my make up to a minimum for work days. Just enough to make me not look totally zombie like. This is what I use everyday. No lipstick, no lipgloss, no eye make up...just enough to not look dead and to even out skin tone.

For the weekends, sometimes I add foundation, but I always use one if not both of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar (which really does smell like chocolate and makes me want to eat it) or the Urban Decay Naked Palette. Both of them rock my world, I love them both so much. I am still in the process of learning to go outside of the box and do different eye make-up looks, but for now, I typically use the same shadows.

Getting Fancy Make Up Look

Make Up Forever HD Foundation* - M123, Urban Decay Naked Palette*, Too Faced Chocolate Palette*, Ardell 120 Demi*, Stila Eyeliner*, Shiseido Eyelash Curler*

I mostly use the Chocolate Palette, here are the colors I typically gravitate to:

Pictures never come out like how you think they will, but this is a full face (no foundation), takes me about 25 minutes. Working on shortening that time.

I'm a lipstick gal through and through, my current faves are:

I know you want to know how I take this all off right? I use this* stuff, I'm sure there are cheaper ways to go, but I've been using this for so long it's hard to change stuff you already like, ya know?

Then I follow up with a face wash and cream...sometimes I use my Clarisonic*.

Shampoo I like to use

But also use this

Shampoo* and Conditioner*

I use this* every other week or so, leaves my hair feeling so silky and shiny

And I use this* when my hair is feeling really blah and weighed down. It sort of strips all of the extra goop on your hair. It's not a conditioner, so your hair sort of feels "gritty" when washing it, but then after it's dried you have never felt your hair so soft. It gets rid of all that built up product on your hair.

Okay, I think that is everything I have the patience for right now :) Perhaps another post with hair products and what I do to my hair will come soon.

What are your go to beauty products?
