Blogging is a Sisterhood

Was nominated by Katie from The Mishaps and Mayham of a Solitary Life. I've actually done this before, but it was 2.5 years ago, they were different questions with different answers, so I figured, why not, let's do this again.

She asked me some questions, and I'm answering.

How has blogging enhanced your life?

Blogging  has given me an outlet to be creative, I love DIY crafts (I am horrible at DIY decorating things), it's a way to share everything I like doing. It also makes me document everything, which is great, otherwise I would have a bunch of pictures (as in I have over 25,000 pictures of just the kids - I wish I was kidding) with no words to go with it, and I don't remember anything, so it's nice to document my kids growing up, the things they says, etc.
What's your favorite guilty pleasure show?

I love Pretty Little Liars, and am a sucker for Teen Mom, and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, I have no idea why they fascinate me so much. And pretty much any show on ABC Family. Currently watching Chasing Life, Switched at Birth and Young and Hungry. Anyone else?

What are you reading now?

I'm horrible and I am not currently reading anything. I do have several books on my nightstand that are waiting to be read. Actually I did start reading The Lies Locke Lamora (I believe it was Pinky that said this was a good read), but am only 40 pages in, so far it's a good read, I just haven't made time to read it. I used to read it at my allergy doctors office, but now that I take the kids it's hard to do.

Currently on my night stand and have yet to read.

What are three things you can't live without?

1) My family
2) Yummy Desserts that I can actually eat
3) Target

Morning Person or Night Owl?
Well that depends, I do get up at 4:30am everyday for work and that doesn't really bother me. I can go throughout the day and not need any coffee or caffeine to stay awake. and when I wake up I'm happy and talkative. I don't need an hour before I really "wake-up". But deep down I'm a night owl, I can stay up super late, even when I wake up at 4:30am, on Fridays I'm still up with Mr. till midnight or later. So I guess my answer is night owl.
What season do you think is easiest to dress for?
I absolutely adore Fall, around these parts, Fall can mean shorts and tank tops along, and then the next day can be leggings, tunic and boots.

Have you ever done anything that's taken you out of your comfort zone?  If so, what?
Sky Diving was definitely out of my comfort zone! I only did it because my Dad was so excited about it, and really wanted me to do it with him.

Where is your favorite place to visit?
I have so many places that are favorites. I loved Bora Bora, but I also loved traveling Europe (Italy, Switzerland). Actually last night Mr. and I were talking about going to Europe for a summer, and maybe making some small town in Italy a home base and then traveling around Europe. How fun would that be? Such good exposure for the kids. But obviously would have to do it when the kids were older and would remember.
What genre of music is your favorite and why?
It really depends on my mood, but for the most part I'm a Top 40 listener. But I do love classical music, specifically going to listen to it in person.  I could just sit and listen forever. I don't listen to it too often in the car, only because it relaxes me too much and I get sleepy. But when Baby Fox was little, it's all we listened to. We'd get in the car and he'd say Music Classic peeeas (please)!
What would your perfect day entail?

Andrea over at Momfessionals asked a similar question. She asked us what our "Ground Hog" day would be, mine was pretty simple. Spending the day with family, swimming and BBQing with friends in the afternoon. Although with our recent beach trip, maybe a beach trip in the morning with the family. You know get the kids nice and tired for bedtime. haha.

So now it's my turn to nominate some people.

Courtney from Sweet Turtle Soup
Whitney from Work It Mommy
Sarah from Coffe & Glitter
Alison from Puppies & Pretties
Becky from ByBMG

Your questions:

If you were on a deserted island what 3 things would you bring with you (family not included)?
If you could only eat 1 food what would it be?
If you could have a super power what would it be?
Who is someone you look up to and why?
If you could go back to any age, what would it be and why?
Favorite movie that you could watch over and over?
If you could learn to do anything, without it being hard, what would it be?
How would you spend a million dollars?
Do you have any strange talents?
Free question/answer, tell me something you want me to know :)

Deep questions, I know, hehe. Can't wait to read your answers!

Birthday Weekend

I had the best weekend! As you know I had Friday off, so we did in fact take the kids to the beach. I had never been to this beach before and I don't know why it took so long for us to go there, it was awesome, no waves, shallow waters and not crowded. But first some chocolate/butterscotch chip pancakes to start the morning off.

While I packed the car up, the kids watched some Netflix. This is the half "cheese" faces because they were really into what they were watching. I can't remember what they were watching.

Car unpacked and ready to get to the beach, which was about 10 feet away, haha.

Baby Fox was trying to get Mini Fox to look at the camera
Baby Fox loved swimming in the ocean, I can't believe it's taken us this long to get him to the ocean, bad parents! But he is swimming and comes out to see us and says...it's so salty!!! Then said it tastes like fish, LOL.

Break from the ocean for some lunch.

She's waving to the camera and saying "Hi"
He wanted to sit on my lap for the rest of lunch.

She wanted to sit with Nana.

We borrowed a boogie board from someone, the kids were so excited.

She really wanted to pull him.

He's humoring her...not really, I think he was just enjoying the ride, he really wasn't this bored in real life.

And then apparently I didn't take any more pictures on Friday. Mr. got home and brought home stuff to make homemade pizza.

Decided to not go on the hike, I got so much sun on Friday that I didn't feel like being in more sun, and was just tired, so wanted to sleep in a bit. I did hit up the gym before the kids woke up though. It felt great running, I haven't done that in a while.

I thought the weather forcast was funny today, it says that we are going to have "abundant sunshine" haha, thanks for that weather channel.

After breakfast the kids played with the kinetic sand, they love that stuff.

After that Mini Fox insisted she wanted a tent between the couch and the coffee table, so I made a tent and they thought it was hilarious and could not stop giggling.

I had a lot of errands to run, so while Mini Fox and I ran our errands Mr. and Baby Fox went to the movies, they saw, Shaun the Sheep, they thought it was cute. Of course neither of us took pictures, it was just too hot to think...okay not really, but just didn't think about it while trying to get all my errands done.

Nap time when we got home and I did this. Tutorial coming soon. If anyone needs some pink tissue paper, I have a TON! Oops, talk about buying too much, oh well! None of the videos told me how much I would need, so I figured it was a lot...FYI it's not, I will include how much I used...or at least an estimate.

I made some cake to try and figure out cakepops, but didn't actually make any, because I ran out of time, so I have a lot of cake right now, opps. Perhaps I'll freeze it and use it for the actual day, one less thing to do...

Isn't this every kids favorite thing to do?

After Mini Fox woke up we went swimming, which I forgot to take a picture of, but I did get her running away not wanting to go in to take a bath. Looking back to see if she's getting away with it, haha.

Sunday was my birthday! I actually went to a baby shower, without the kids, in my book that's a win :) It was back in my hometown, so three hours of driving with a good friend, perfection.

She didn't want the strawberries, till I said I would take them with me and put them in the baggie, then suddenly she got interested.

I was posing for some pictures, and Baby Fox wanted in on the action.

Such a cute baby shower, and I am so excited for my friend. I've known her for over 20 years.

We've all been friends since junior high and still friends, love that we can go months/years without seeing each other and it's like no time has passed when we do see each other.

When I got home Mr. had decorated the inside and outside of the house, forgot to load the pictures, oops. But he said the kids had a blast decorating.

Love this picture of us.

This girl loves herself some shrimp, she just kept asking for more.

My mom gave me the Baby/Mini Fox "cheese" face, haha.

The kids helped me open gifts, Mr. got me the Urban Decay Smoky palette I wanted, yay! Plus when he went in they asked if he had an account, so he gave them our phone number and they said, hey it's her birthday, here's a free gift, and then I got a two free Nars Lip pencils, woo hoo. They are so smooth and creamy, great day for me.

My sister got me this, we had been talking about this a couple of weeks ago, so excited to do this. Anyone else have a coloring book? Now to find the time to actually do this. Baby Fox wanted to break in the pencils, I told him it was for adults only, haha.

And what is a party without a family selfie?

Great day spent with family and friends, I feel so luck to have these people in my life. Now if only my brother and Sister-in-law were there, then it would have been perfect.

Only 5 more days of work and then I'm off for 10 days! Woo hoo.

Friday Favorites #40

Happy Friday! I have the day off and today we're actually going to the beach! We tried on Monday but that didn't end up working out. So let's hope it works out today.

I did upload this on Thursday, but didn't post to the blog yesterday because I thought Mr.'s responses to the Guy Behind the Blog questions was more fun to read. He's a funny guy that Mr. He was a good sport answering questions about love and feelings and stuff.

I got my allergy shots yesterday and we got home about 6pm, and the kids convinced Mr. to take them swimming before dinner. First Baby Fox said, please Daddy will you take us swimming, then gave him the puppy dog face (I'm so proud), and then Mini Fox came up and said, "Daddy Swimming Pool, Daddy Swimming pool, Peeeease", shot in the heart, he was a gonner and didn't even hesitate to say yes. He's such a sucker.

Went out last night on a much needed Girl/Mom's Night Out, so great to catch up with everyone. We stayed out way too late talking, but it was a blast. I forgot to talk a picture before I left, so this is after I came home, you know make up is sort of smeared, whatever, I haven't worn make-up in couple of weeks and it felt great :)

We went to a wine tasting/restaurant place and the food was amazing! Or so I'm told, since I can't eat what is here, but doesn't it look pretty?

I love these ladies and can't wait for our next MNO.

This could be one of my all time favorite pictures of us...Funny story. Mr. was laying down so I laid on top of him and Baby Fox laid on top of me. Mini Fox then comes and starts saying "me too, me too". But can't get to the top, so Baby Fox and I get off and get Mini Fox on the couch. Then Baby Fox says, "okay I'll go first then you Mommy, wait...Mommy you go first, then Mini Fox...no wait, then me then Mini Fox." Loved seeing how his little mind worked with how much we all weighed. It was amazing that I got this picture at all, we were only like this for 2.5 seconds before Mr. really couldn't breathe, LOL.

I found this video yesterday and thought it was so funny. At first I wasn't going to watch it, but figured I needed to see what the next thing people were just going to blindly jump on the band wagon on. But turns out she was just making fun of those people, hilarious. We need to have a sense of humor sometimes.

My concerns about Parent's Choice diapers. We need to get it together for the safety of our children!Maybe we can wrangle Chris Pratt to help!

Guys Behind the Blog - August Edition

I randomly came across Betsy and her blog with a guys behind the blog series. I missed out on July, but thought I would do August. So Mr. and I are going through the questions...and well let's just say he's not into weddings...at all.

I thought it was fitting to use a picture of us at the last wedding we went to

August Link-Up Questions:

1 // Share a funny wedding story with us - it could be from your own or one you attended.

(Sigh)...a funny wedding story? Are you sure these questions are for boys? (takes a sip of his soda)...
Well?
My funny wedding story, this one time I saw a wedding and...it was in the country...and...they almost got to the alter and the bride totally ran away...and it happened three more times during the movie...
(Me laughing)

2 // On the topic of love, who was your childhood crush?

Are you serious? Are you just writing everything I say, like a court reporter? These are not questions for boys are they? Are you sure these are the right questions? (sigh)

I think in preschool I was in love with this little girl named Joy and  have no idea what she looks like, and I was always in love with a girl when I was a little kid.

3 // What is your top love language? What is your significant other's love language?

Looove language...
Then he proceeded to tell me things that cannot be repeated on this blog...so moving along.

4 // How did you meet your significant other?

He said...

You already know...they already know, link them to the story.

Yep he really said that.

5 // If you're engaged or married, how did you propose? If you're not, how did you ask your girl out?

On asking me out

I called you.

We met in a bar, click here for the story.

Man of few words...okay he's definitely not into love and wedding stuff, he pretty much banned me from even watching wedding related shows after we got married. But we'll definitely try again next month! Haha...Have fun getting married Betsy! I can't wait to see the pictures!
