Easter Weekend Recap

Hello Foxy Friends!

I'm somewhat rested, if you count 4.5 hours of sleep rested, oops! That Sons of Anarchy! Gets me every time. We had the season finale of Season 2, so we HAD to watch it last night, right?

Our weekend was fantastic. I would almost say the perfect weekend. Friday I met up with a good friend from college that recently moved to Northern California from Virginia...at least we're in the same state now. Anyway we met up at the Discovery Cube in Anaheim, now that they've expanded it, super fun! Definitely be going back!

We might have another climber on our hands, only 2.5 more years till she can go on the rock wall at the gym to find out.

Baby Fox decided to go to school instead of coming with us...so don't think I'm ignoring him.

They have this cool outdoor area where you have a map with pictures of things that the wand can open and close.

Lots of hands on things inside, like Legos, blocks, wind tunnel stuff, really great learning place for the kids.

We're inside the cube!

This girl would not take a normal picture...so I joined in on the craziness.

Even the food was cute..piano sandwich.

Butterfly grilled cheese

Baby Fox saw Mini Fox sucking her thumb, and he told her that that was the wrong finger to suck that it was those two fingers, so she's been doing whenever she doesn't have her pacifier and wants it.

This one was cool, you got to "skate" on this and how fast you slide your feet was how fast the guy moved...clearing Mini Fox didn't get it.

Teaching kids about the pully's how it helps with weight distribution. I got a good workout.

Last selfie before we left, Mini Fox wasn't feeling it.

Friday night we met up with some friends, I've know her since 7th grade. So happy that we live close enough to have dinner on a Friday night. The kids get along so great too.

Saturday I took Baby Fox rock climbing again but this time we met up with a friend and his kid, that kid loves it up there. (The green thing hanging from him is how I get him back down, since he doesn't weigh enough to get down on his own...well he can but it would probably take 10 minutes, he travels a half an inch a second.

Baby Fox then did a first, he went home with our friends to play. I didn't even have to drive him, they had an extra car seat in the car...and he had a blast. We then went do diner at their house, so we could hang out and pick up Baby Fox. They are all getting so big.

Sunday was Easter of course and we told the kids that the Easter Bunny didn't come till he knew you were in church celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus...Plus church started at 10 (we had to leave by 9:30) and they wake up around 8:30, wasn't going to be able to do everything even if we wanted to. Waiting for church to start, Mr. had to sit this one out because of his back. Boo.

This girl was a Papa's girl the whole time...so stinkin' cute.

Such a perfect day for Easter.

Just the girls.

Then we headed back to our place to get their Easter baskets and hunt for eggs. I won't bore you with all the photos...but Baby Fox thought the Darth Vader Easter egg was pretty awesome.

After a short nap we headed over to my Aunt's house. Where the kids got ANOTHER Easter egg hunt, talk about spoiled!

Oh and guess what? I think I finally feel like an adult... I bought us a really nice cheese board and cheese knives...I feel like I can officially host a fancy dinner party. Cause a dinner party without a fancy cheese board is no party at all right?

I hope you all had a great Easter! Come back tomorrow for Style Perspectives, we're all styling bright pants! Join in on the fun and link up with us, or #theblendedblogstyle on social media!

Happy Easter!!!

Hello Foxy Friends!

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend! Ours was fantastic, so much so that I'm just too tired to recap it for you today! It's late and I need to get to bed, but I wanted to link up with Chrissy, Crystal, Elizabeth, Jen, Jess, Liz, Meghan, Natasha and Courtney for the Easter Basket link up.

The way things worked out, I didn't have time to put together the Easter baskets beforehand. Since we use the same baskets each year, I had to come up with a story to tell the kids why we use the same basket. We told them that we leave an empty basket out and the Easter Bunny fills it when he comes to leave the eggs. So we had them leave their baskets outside on Saturday night...so...Mr. did it while we were at church, and I had about 10 second pause before the kids tore into them...haha.

For Mini Fox we got her an Arial doll and a book and a See's Candy bunny, some eggs and a sucker.

Baby Fox we got him this Miles from Tomorrowland toy he's been asking for, since before Christmas...he wasn't sure if the Easter Bunny was going to come through for him or not...he talked about it non stop on Saturday saying he didn't think the Easter Bunny was going to bring it...he was over the moon excited when he found out he did in fact come through for him.

I hope you all had a great Easter! It was the most perfect day for us! Minus Mr. not being able to go to church because of his back...boo! Come back tomorrow to see all of our Easter fun!

I can't believe how good this little girl is and she's only been doing this for less than a year! Watch out Olympics 2028.

Part of my wear everything in my closet, okay well just for a month...although I'm thinking I'm going to keep going. So far I haven't even dented my closet. Just like Lana and Abbie...they're still going strong too.

What are your thoughts on wearing everything in your closet?

Mr. and I are totally obsessed with watching Sons of Anarchy. We're on season two and loving it! Any one else watch it? If not, you should, it's awesome and it's on Netflix.

Hope you all have a good Easter! See you on Monday!

Further and Further Away

I'm not exactly sure where this is going...but gotta get it out.

This week was the first week to register Baby Fox for Kindergarten. A few weeks ago, we applied for the lottery for a local Charter school. It's getting real up in here people. My baby is going to Kindergarten. Real school, one that goes 5 days a week, and there is going to be homework.

But let's back up a bit. When I was pregnant, every ounce of his being was attached to me. I gave him food, water, life. I carried him for 38 weeks 5 days.

This is me just before leaving for the hospital. Had to take a shower, of course.

Then a short 9 hours later he was here, he could breath on his own, he no longer needed me for air.

We took him home and he relied on me for food. Which blows my mind, I gave him milk so he wasn't thirsty, I gave him milk so he wasn't hungry, he still needed me.

Then suddenly he was eating food, and didn't need as much milk from me. He stepped a bit further from me.

Then one day he didn't need my milk, yet again a little further away.

He was walking and talking up a storm and finding his little personality, now he could run away if he wanted, luckily he never did ;)

Then he went to pre-school, I didn't cry, but was totally emotional.

Now he's currently in his second year of preschool.

He's starting to read and do math, which blows my mind! This one is just from February he's moved on to just numbers and no pictures...say what?!

He's getting so big, he's going to be taller than me before I know it!

All this to say, that each day he becomes a little more independent. Each day he takes a metaphorical step away from me. I know this is part of parenting and kids growing up, that he's going to grow up and someday leave the nest (Go read Lana's post about her last son leaving the nest)...but I wish I could keep him little. I know there are rough days when I want to throw my hands in the air and say I QUIT! But in reality those moments are short and at the end of the day I want to keep him sweet and innocent. He's my first Baby and registering him for Kindergarten this week is going to kill me. I probably won't shed a tear, but I'll feel sad that he just takes one more step away from me to his own independence.

What I hope for him; is that we give him a good strong foundation.  One that is of love, understanding, patience and that he always carries God in his heart. I hope that he continues wants to help others and see the good in others in a world that quite frankly is getting a little scary. I hope that when he becomes an adult he goes out into the world and makes a difference, that he carries The Light where ever he goes.

I know I'm rambling, but things just got real over here, my Baby is starting Kindergarten in 5 months!

Style Perspectives Week 4: Printed Blouse with Neutrals and Hair Challenge Week 12

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! Another week with the Style Perspective with The Blended Blog. Today Abbie from Grumbling Grace is talking Printed Blouse with Neutrals, go check out her post here.

My neutral today was my olive jeans, those are neutral right? And my favorite black and white polka dot shirt, because those sleeves, love them.

I even did some neutral wedges too.

And guess what I actually styled my extensions! It was so much fun to have more hair to braid and play with. I used this tutorial, but instead of pinning it up, I left it down. I think it turned out super cute.

The necklace was a Valentine's Gift back when Baby Fox was 1, There is a gold heart inside that Mr. had engraved with Baby Fox's Name and Mr.'s name.

In case you missed it, last week all the ladies styled my prompt which was white pants! Didn't everyone do great?! Which one is your favorite?

I can't believe that it's week 12 of the hair challenge. I have to admit the last two weeks have been a bit hard. I'm not sure why, maybe I feel like I'm curling my hair too much but then styling my hair without the curl is hard. Perhaps I should throw caution to the wind go for it and then just chop my hair at the end of this whole thing...

Thursday I did a chucky braid, my favorite way to style my hair if we're being honest.

I wanted to do my hair for our date night on Friday, but ran out of time to do make up and hair in 30 minutes. Saturday I knew I wanted to try the box fishtail out. I think it turned out pretty good, next time I'm going to try to take smaller pieces and be more precise with where I take and were I put, so that it comes out a box, instead of a twisty box.

Sunday for church I wore my hair in  lace braid, it was super fun to wear. Although I'm not sure how people deal with that hair on the far side that doesn't quite reach...

And Monday and Tuesday I was just not feeling the hair thing, so I went with down and messy. Half way through Monday I just got annoyed that it was in my face, so I threw it up in a haphazard bun, which I had no rubberbands just a few bobby pins. This was my resulting hair, even though it looks horrible, I'm showing you anyway! Just call me mushroom head.
