10 Things I Love About My Home

When I saw Becky do this, I knew I had to participate in it too. Each month there is a topic to discuss and it's numbered, there is nothing better then that. Seriously, here are the topics for the rest of the year. Thanks Erin for hosting.

This month we are writing about things we love about our home. Here are my top 10 things:

ONE

Before we even bought our house, I told Mr. if we buy this house, I'm getting a new stair case. Of course he obliged and I just LOVE the look of it.

This is where we started, it came a long way. Here are the details on our stairs if you want to see the process.

TWO

Is it okay to like the stairs twice? Haha, just kidding sort of, but I just love Christmas time and the Christmas tree that we put near our stairs. I can't wait to start decorating! Confession: We might have to start decorating early because we're going to be gone the weekend before Thanksgiving, and Mr. is going to be gone the two weeks after Thanksgiving, so we might be decorating for Christmas middle of November, I'm sort of excited.

 | Three |

Okay moving away from the stairs, haha. I am going to go with our bathroom. Surprisingly...when I said that I wanted new stairs, Mr. said he wanted a big TV and a Claw Foot Tub. Our bathroom is stupidly big but that clawfoot looks amazing in it. Now we just need to get rid of the dollar tree drapes we bought so we could take a bath and I would be one happy Mama.

Apparently I don't have a great picture of our bathtub...oops, well you get the picture. Here is the post on our bathroom renovation.

FOUR

We did a mini remodel on our kitchen end of last year, and I love it. I'm actually doing a post on our remodel next week, so stay tuned for that! Even though we didn't do much, I just love having functioning doors and drawers...such a treat after 7 years, haha!

FIVE

Last year Mr. make Baby Fox his own Lego Wall, I think it turned out pretty awesome, and every time I walk into his room, I just smile because so much love and effort went into it by Mr.

SIX

Mr.'s office area.  He wanted the claw foot tub and a big TV. We got it, and it's a great room to retreat to after the kids go to bed. The kids are allowed to watch TV in there on a limited basis, so it really is our little piece of the house that is unjaded by kid stuff.

SEVEN

Our closet, we ripped out everything and Mr. put in all hanging rods for me, and just recently we put in some shelves, which I have yet to take a picture of. Oops.

EIGHT

Our backyard, we did a HUGE renovation a couple of years ago and are so glad that we decided to do it then instead of waiting a bit. We use it ALL the time. Granted I hate going swimming, actually I like swimming when it is 100° with 90% humidity, anything less then that, I am happy to watch.

NINE

Our family room mantel, I love how big it is, and how I can pretty much put anything on it and so much of it, although storing all that stuff is starting to become a problem, I think it's so much fun!

TEN

We have the perfect house for party throwing. We have limited room in our living room, which is perfect for party throwing. We love hosting parties for our friends and family. Especially kids parties, I love making these back drops for this huge wall that we have.

I might be a little late to the party, but better late than never right? What is the favorite part of your house?

Friday Favorties #133

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! I have today off, woo hoo. Prepping for Mini Fox's birthday party, holy cow I have a ton to do and not much time to do it! Mr. wants to go on an outting tomorrow, which leaves me today to finish stuff up before the party on Sunday...trying not to panic. Today is the first time that I will be dropping both kids off at school and will have 4 hours to get stuff done...before party day, that's huge! Now hopefully I can be super productive! Okay onto Friday Favorites.

In case you missed it on the blog this week:

Monday: The Blended Blog Asks - September Edition
Tuesday: Yosemite Trip - Day 1 and 2
Wednesday: Floral and Stripes
Thursday: Sentence A Day - August Edition

The past weekend was so much fun!  Saturday we went to the beach with friends (the same ones we went to Yosemite with), and while our method to getting to the beach was questionable (think 4 children walking on the side of the road...like bike lane side of a busy road) to get to a neighborhood that had a bridge to where we wanted to go...to get to the beach, but once we were there, no one else was crazy enough to do it, so we had the beach to ourselves...

This was to our left

In front of us (those are our kids)

To our right, and with all of that beach space, the kids wanted to dig right under Mr.'s feet. Go figure.

After that we all went home showered quickly dropped the kids off and went to my birthday dinner at Ruth's Chris...yummy!

They even had a happy birthday in the menu for me, how cool is that?

Best Ceasar salad EVER!

Steak...yum. I only ate half, Mr. had the other half the next day.

Great way to celebrate my birthday, with good friends.

Sunday we took the kids apple picking up in Julian. So much fun! Definitely going to be a yearly tradition! We meet up with some good friends we haven't seen in over a year! Crazy how fast time flies. The kids took about 10 minutes to warm up to each other and then they were off and running.

Afterwards we went across the street and had a picnic, the kids played and played until we thought it was time to go, they were having a blast.

Then we decided we weren't done hanging out and we needed to find something else to do. We tried to go to an antique market but that was a bust, but there was the cutest swing ever there, that of course I put the older kids in and think I got the BEST picture. If they ever get married, this is SO the picture we are using! Yep he's pushing her on a swing...yes I told them to smile, yes I told him to push her...yes this was totally staged, but they kids pulled it off so well, like they actually liked it.

Afterwards we went to a place that did Mining for Gems, super fun, and the kids again had a blast!

Showing off their loot, good thing I brought an extra clothes for them to change into!

We also couldn't leave without an apple pie!

Such a great weekend! Monday was catch up day, which we really needed! We actually didn't get out of our pajamas until we had guest over for dinner...which was Thanksgiving! We decided we needed some turkey in our lives so I made it happen, so good. I think I'm good until Thanksgiving.

So good! And we had left overs, which was the best part.

As usual linking up with The Blended Blog to share a little blogger love.

First up is Rebecca Jo from Knit By God's Hand, have you read her blog, she is super sweet and writes down to earth, this is her kind of posts. She's the one that I got the Sentence A Day from. Go read her sentences from this month! And can we say #hairgoals?

Skirt (Similar)/ Shirt (similar) / Shoes (similar)

Confession: While trying to find a skirt similar to the one I have on, I found one...and then bought it myself, because it also comes in black and white polka dots...I had to, for $18, add to cart!

Also linking up with Anne from Anne In Residence and her monthly "currently" where she gives you the topics to talk about. This time her cohost is Lowanda of Sunshine and Elephants and the topic is  celebrating, watching, welcoming, preparing, and photographing.

Currently we are:

Celebrating

Mini Fox! I can't believe she's 4 already! When did that happen? Wasn't it just yesterday that she looked like this?

Watching

Several things, just finished Game of Thrones. Currently at this moment we're watching Dark Matter, which is about 6 people who wake up on a space ship and don't know who they are or how they got there.

We're also just picked up Beyond, which is pretty good, although we're only 3 episodes in, but it's about a kid who was in a coma for 12 years and wakes up to people wanting to get him and him figuring out where he was the last 12 years and trying to get those memories back.

Welcoming

A new cousin into the family. Curtis's cousin is getting married weekend after next, excited to see them get married and and celebrate their marriage. Plus my Mother-In-Law and Brother-In-Law are coming into town to celebrate too, so we'll get a few days with them.

Preparing

For Mini Fox's birthday party. Do you sense a theme here? My life revolves around it. I tried to use my new Cricut the other night and totally failed miserably, and am on such a time crunch, don't have time to figure it out, so I pulled out my old one and got the job done. Today I'm buying the food and ordering some more food and trying to get my ducks in a row so I can actually enjoy our day out on Saturday.

Photographing

We went out to Julian to go apple picking last weekend, see #2 above, and had a blast! I actually brought my big camera and took all of the pictures. So much fun. This one was my favorite, and I took it on my iphone...

Okay now onto our Fashion post link up, thanks for continuing to make our link up a success! Click on some links and find some new people to follow!
