Thanksgiving Dress Ideas

Hi Foxy Friends! Happy Wednesday. Here in the States it's Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks, like what the heck? How did that happen? So today's prompt over on The Blended Blog is Thanksgiving Looks. I have to admit, I typically try to wear the dress I get for our family photos to Thanksgiving too. See....

2014

Apparently I have no pictures of me, where you can see my dress, but see the kids wore their outfits.

2015

I had ankle surgery and couldn't wear what I had on for the pictures, comfortable was key (3 weeks post surgery). See the walking boot barely peeking out.

2016

2017

This year I wanted to wear something different, but I've already worn it to two different functions...cause it's so cute. So I'll show it to you now. Thanks to the lovely Deena for taking my photos, that are NOT in my backyard!

Dress (similar style, not print) / Heels

*tip with the heels (I guess when dealing with Patent leather...if it's too tight on your toes, put on thick sock, and use hair dryer to heat up the patent leather and then stick foot in to stretch it out. Obviously don't heat it too much to damage the shoe. It took maybe 5 minutes of repeating this for the heel to fit around my toes correctly).

I love how flowy it looks while walking

I'm wearing this strapless bra, in case you wanted to know.

Truth be told I wore this to my high school reunion...not sure if I should wear it again to Thanksgiving, thoughts?

And then there is what I wore for our family pictures. I think I'll wear one or the other depending on the weather. Typically it can range from hot to super hot! I love this dress! Now that I'm looking at it, I'm wondering if I should have gone with a different shoe...darn it!

Dress is sold out where I bought it, but I found it somewhere else

A little twirling never hurt anyone either.

Yep I just always look like this when I'm done twirling.

Alright, now check out the lovely ladies below and then go link up your Thanksgiving day looks over on The Blended Blog!

Amazon Prime Purchases: November

I saw Andrea post her favorite Prime Purchases, and she was linking up to Tayna who hosts the link up. I mean how fun is that? We all purchases stuff from Amazon, might as well share the wealth of knowledge of the goodies! Click here to see my past purchases. Okay let's get started!

Mr. and I were talking about how many baggies we go through making our lunches. Baby Fox gets 2-3 baggies a DAY, and I use a couple each day too...so much waste, so we decided we wanted to try and get a bento box for Baby Fox...I was going to get this one or this one...but then realized it wasn't going to fit into Baby Fox's current lunch box. So I gave up looking for those and decided to go with reusable baggies. And the best part? That I didn't discover until we got them in the mail? They are dishwasher safe! What? Heck ya! I have no idea how to put them in the dishwasher...but whatever I can put them in there.

First thing I used them for was fruit.

Now that we've been using them for a few weeks, the "zip" part of the bag is easier! It was a struggle at first, but I think we just need to wear them in. Now it's super easy.

We had been using these water bottles for the longest time. But they leak, especially if you leave it in the hot car...puddle of water in the kids cup holders...not good. Plus there is no rhyme or reason why they leak in Baby Fox's lunch...arg. So I was out to find something that didn't leak? So far so good, we've had them for almost a month, and I just ordered some for Mini Fox too, those other ones are gone!

I needed to get a new pan to make this meatloaf recipe, best meatloaf recipe EVER! The one I had gotten rusty, I know such a fun purchase. Why did we get two? Do we need two? No, but buying 2 was $5 cheaper than buying just one...go figure.

I decided randomly one day that I NEEDED this. I was making this recipe, and it's just so much harder to separate the fat and more time consuming. Actually have no idea if this works, or what that red stopper does...but I guess I'll figure it out the next time I need to make gravy? I hear that this makes it easier. Plus I only have a 2 cup measuring cup, and this one is 4 cups, so I can use this for when I need bigger measuring things, and I don't have to fill up my 2 cup measuring several times #lazycooker.

I don't think I posted this, but at Baby Fox's school, they had a trunk or treat and a few mom's and I decided to do a trunk together, actually 2 trunks and bring a sprinkle of sunshine in a sea of scary trunks. Anyway, we all bought this skirt, and these leggings. The headbands were made from supplies bought at Hobby Lobby.

So what have your prime purchases been lately? Anything I MUST have?

TBB Asks: November Edition

Hi Foxy Friends! It's the first Monday of the month, which you know that means TBB Asks! Super easy post for a Monday, we ask the questions, you answer them. Easy as that. So let's get started.

1. Have you ever kept a gratitude journal?

No, although every night during bedtime, we each go around and say three things that were good about the day. I should start writing down what we say each night.

2. Hosting Thanksgiving at your house?

No, we go to my cousins each year, they do an awesome job cooking turkey.

3. Favorite food from the Thanksgiving meal?

This is a tough one, because I like all the things, piled on the plate and mixed together. So I'm going with all of it.

4. What one thing in nature are you most grateful for?

Birds, I love watching birds fly in the "V" and working together.

5. Pumpkin Pie?

NO, big FAT NO. I would rather starve. The End.

6. Traditional Cookbook?

Not sure what this means...hmm...yes I have them, yes I use them? Is that that means? Instead of using online? Hmmm...???

7. Oven baked or deep fried turkey?

My cousin smokes it, and it's delicious as well. That doesn't answer the question though...so let's go with oven baked.

8.  Thanksgiving leftovers?

Heck yes! Since we go to someone's house for Thanksgiving, we don't get many left overs, so we usually end up making our own Thanksgiving turkey again, just so we can eat all of the left overs, hehe.

9. What is the one household product you are grateful for?

My cordless vacuum, life changing I tell ya. I talk about it here.

10. Are you most grateful for home cooked meals or restaurant meals?

Well I love a good home cooked meal that I don't have to prepare. Although I do like cooking, so as long as I can walk away and don't have to clean up or do dishes, I'm good.
