Let's Talk: Entertainment

I'm back linking up with Andrea and Erika for Let's Talk, where each month they give us a topic to discuss, this month it's Entertainment as in what books, movies, magazines and blogs we love. So here it goes.

Books:

Okay so let's face it, I haven't been reading that much. The last book I read was Me Before You, which was a great book, I highly recommend it, I missed it at the theater, can't wait for it to come out on video.

Back when I was in high school, my dad would just pass the books he read on to me, he was obsessed with Jack Reacher books, have you heard of them? He is a former MP and trouble always just seems to find him, and he always solves the case. Jack Reacher is huge in my family, one person buys the book and the passes it to all the family member plus some extended family, Mr. joined in on the fun when we met.  Back in the day my dad always told us that these would make fantastic movies, and guess what, 20 years later they finally made it a movie. I guess this last book my parents just gave us is going to be the next Jack Reacher Movie, slated to come out end of October, so we're all trying to read it before it comes out.

Movies:

So once day I got sucked into watching youtube videos, you know how that is, and suddenly I find myself watching movie trailers, even though I haven't seen Me Before You yet, I know that I love Sam Claflin, so the movie trailer I saw called Love, Rosie. Super Cute, I recently discovered a friend who's wife is obsessed with buying movies, think over 2000 in their collection. So I asked if he had it, and of course he did...yay! They are my new Blockbuster. Anyway, it was a super cute movie and I really liked it, click here* to rent or buy the movie.

Does a series count? Mr. and I just finished watching The Man in the High Castle, it's an Amazon Prime show about what would happen if Germany won the war...super interesting premise. So if you have Amazon Prime movies, check this one out, season 2 comes out mid December, so you have time to catch up!

Magazines:

...ain't no one have time for that...okay I don't....and I have never been one for magazine reading, well when I was 13 I was obbesseed with Teen, but mom and dad didn't particularly like me reading it, so when my subscription ended, so did my love for magazine. Haven't really picked one up since.

Blogs I love:

Of course I love The Blended Blog and everyone that is a contributor. We have collected such a great/diverse group of woman who have interests all over the spectrum. I just love what every single lady brings to the table.

Elizabeth from Chasin' Mason, she is just so down to earth, her son is adorable and his love for post offices is just the cutest, plus she lives in a few cities over from me. One day we're going to meet!

Lindsay from Lindsays Sweet World, although I have not actually met her in person, she just seems like the sweetest person, with a great sense of style and killer interior decorating skills. Can she just be my personal stylist and decorator?

Beth from Our Pretty Little Girls, I was first drawn to her blog because she was taking a picture a week of her girls. I just thought that was so darn sweet, that I just had to keep following her journey. Weird that I remember that and that was why I followed along. But along the way she's becoming a blogging friend, she home schools her girls, which almost makes me want to do it too, but not quite, she seems WAY more patient than me at teaching someone something...anyway, I hope one day I get to meet her in real life.

I could go on forever, but I'll stop at three, anyone that you think I should check out and put in my must read file?

Throw Back to...High School

I'm linking up with Andrea today for her Let's Talk series, I totally read it wrong...rather in my blog planner I just wrote, school days, so I just took some pictures of some high school photos, but looking a little closer, it says College Throwback. Well...that will have to wait for another day...I took high school photos, so that's what I'm showing you today, hope you don't mind.

See that picture up there, yep, turned 15, braces and all. Funny enough I owned a gingham type shirt then, but don't have one now...hmmm....That was at one of the hangouts in my town, it was a 50's diner and everyone went there.

Guess what? My friend just posted (like this afternoon), a big group picture of us from our 9th grade class picture...let me show it to you...can you find me?

Yeah I wouldn't be able to either...but let's look a little closer and you'll see I'm pretty much in the center...as a cheerleader! Yep that's right I was a cheerleader for 1 year...I had totally forgotten about that picture and being one...haha! Anyway, when I got to 10th grade (officially at the high school campus) you couldn't do both marching band and cheerleading and I loved marching band so I chose that.

One of my good friends, who we see often, actually we went to her daughters birthday just a few weeks ago. This is 9th grade. Back in the day, 9th grade was junior high and we got to sit out where we are standing for lunch, which only 9th graders got to do...big time I know. We thought we were so cool.

9th grade graduation. For whatever reason I can only find this picture...I have no idea where all of the other pictures are. My friend who I just saw a few weeks ago too. Man I've been friends with these girls for a long time. Actually it goes back to 7th grade if you really wanted to know.

Hey I'm turning 16! First time I ever got my nails done at a salon...now that seems so crazy to wait that long now and days...perhaps I'll do the same with Mini Fox.

11th grade Homecoming dance. , the guy in the white jacket, totally had this huge crush on him, went to 3 dances with him and didn't kiss him until I was a Junior in College...talk about waiting FOREVER!

Now we are entering the part of the post where it is all of my scrapbooking photos...since I scrapbooked all of my pictures...so be warned, these were my first pages that I ever did.

A big part of my life was band. I played trombone and did every type of ensemble possible at school. Yep just call me band geek.

Let's zoom in a bit...so trombones were always in the front line...you know moving parts and all, can you see me? I was the only girl...tall, tall, tall, tall, tall, short, tall, tall, tall...haha. Hey at least we're all in step, that's good.

This band geek went to Reno for a Jazz Festival, super fun times.

Can you see me? There are only 3 girls...the other two are blonde...haha.

So while in band there were a group of us that always hung out (see Homecoming picture above). Anyway, one of the older sisters started calling us S.S (snob squad, so I guess we could be considered the first plastics? I really hope we weren't that mean, I don't think we were), anyway, everyone pretty much knew us as that, and always wanted to know what it meant...so I guess if you were one of those people and reading this now...now you know.

My first time at Disneyland was for a honors society thing, I know took 17 years for me to get there...

Hey I'm 18 now! Yep I turned 18 as a senior in high school.

A big part of my senior year was marching band, as I was the drum major. See that person in the front there...yep me.

A close up of most of my outfit besides the shako...errr..hat to those that don't know what a shako is.

Our class decided it was a good idea that 98 days (since we were the class of 98), would all just ditch school. Unofficial, the teachers had no idea...and since we were ditching half of the junior class ditched too, and boy did we get in trouble, but it was a super fun day hanging out down in Santa Monica.

In high school the other group I hung out with, were the ASB kids. Mostly the kids from 7th grade, anyway, when Grease released for it's 20th anniversary at the theater, it's totally normal to grab our mom's, dress up and go see the movie together right?

Finally graduation! I told you once that my brother was 9 months younger than me. We ended up graduating together. Yep that means all of the same classes, all the same friends and I wouldn't have had it any other way!

Me and my brother...

And on that note I think I've shared enough embarrassing photos for one post...Hope you all had a great weekend!

Let's Talk: Summer Plans

Hi Foxy Friends! Happy Memorial Day for those that are in the U.S. Everyday I'm thankful for those men and woman in the service who gave their lives so I can live the life I have today.

Today I'm linking up with Andrea for her Let's Talk Series, today's topic is what we have planned this Summer.

We have two mini trips planned this summer. The first one we're going to a lake nearby with some friends. We're super excited about that, and we expect to get no sleep. As the people we're going with...their kids typically wake up 3 hours before ours...think about that...three hours before our kids ever wake up...wish us luck, 6 adults and 7 kids in one cabin.

Not where we are going, a different lake
The next trip we have planned is for the end of July, we're going to LEGOLAND with my cousins and all of their kids. So excited to get to spend some time with my cousins. I know Baby and Mini Fox are super excited to spend the night at the LEGOLAND Hotel and go to the water park, which they have been dying to go to.

Just add 3 more kids to this picture for next time!
Other then those two trips, we don't have much planned. Probably a lot of this is going to happen.

And both of the kids are going to get a lot of these this summer....swim lessons! Trust me, he's forgotten how to do this! And Mini Fox is going to get water safe.

The Beach, now that Mini Fox is a little older, we're going to be hitting up the beach as much as we can.

Bubbles, lots of bubbles...

I think the Park is calling our name too.

And maybe we'll add in some fun dinner dates at the park with friends.

Also planning Baby Fox's half birthday party...he wants another Super Hero thing, so expect lots of Super Hero stuff coming your way.

Seems like a pretty busy summer to me. Before we know it Halloween is going to be here...and boy do I have something pretty spectacular up my sleeve for our costumes this year! Stay tuned...really hoping that it turns out as good as I think it can be in my head...
