Aparently we're going to skip fall and head straight to winter, according to the crows in my neck of the woods. They all seem to be flying south for the winter...talk about creepy "The Birds" reenactment. All that we could hear was the flapping of their wings overhead, it was almost silent except for that woosh sound of their wings. So creepy!
It started off with just a few
Then you could really see the long line of them
Then all of a sudden "The Birds" were upon us!

And The Results Are
Saturday we went to the Be The One Run. We were worried that it was going to rain, but Mr and I decided that we would go rain or shine, but the weather worked in our favor, cloudy, not raining and perfect walking weather. The whole thing was truely an amazing experience. There were so many people there supporting family, friends, loved ones, people with matching shirts with pictures of their loved ones, signs, it was really great to see everyone coming together to support such a great cause.
We let the rest of the group keep going, and when they came back around, we finished off the walk with them.
Almost at the finish line!
He wasn't in the mood to walk across the finish line.
We won for the most money raised about $7500!!! and K-man's Dad won for most individual money raised, I think about $2500! Go Team Happy Star!
This is my friend Sarah and her sign
This was the sign that they used last year for the run, and has been in every hospital room since then.
Getting ready to start the race. K-Man had a rough night, but everyone still showed up in relatively good spirits.
I ran ahead of everyone with a friend and when we came back around (about mile 2.5), I walked with the rest of the group. Baby Fox got hungry, so we stopped to give him some breakfast, I felt since I already ran most of it, I deserved a break, right?

At the end we took some group pictures, but they haven't sent me the pictures yet, I think they came out really well. Excited to see them. Thanks everyone for the support and prayers!

Be The One - Are You A Match?
Meet Kelptyn. He is the happiest baby you will ever meet. With everything that he has gone through, he finds a way to smile, giggle and let his parents know he is okay and that he's going to get through this, with them by their sides.
Tomorrow Mr, Baby Fox and I are walking in the Be The One Run, a fundraiser for Bone Marrow awareness and funds to help patients, for one of my good friend/ college roommate's son Kelptyn. Kelptyn is only 1 month younger then Baby Fox. He was diagnosed with a rare bone disorder called Osteopetrosis, a disease in which his bones harden and become more dense. The ONLY cure is a bone marrow transplant. He's gone through two to date, usually unheard of and many many surgeries and procedures. Just a few short weeks ago, they were told that the second transplant didn't look like it was working, but Kelptyn kept fighting and it's paying off! It looks like the bone marrow is here to stay the second time around! He's such a happy guy and we're all praying for his miracle. You can find his story written by his Mom and Dad here: http://thehoneygrahams.weebly.com/kelptyns-fight.html
If you aren't a donor, think about putting yourself in the database. It's easy, and can potentially save a life. All you have to do is fill out the registry form and when you join the registry they will send you a registration kit to give a swab of cheek cells. That's it, and then you just wait. I've been on the registry for 15 years, yep, I signed up in high school. What are you waiting for, go do it!
Here is the first time we met Kelptyn, he was just 2 month old.
(please excuse the tired, messy hair, barely put together new moms)
Our pregnant bellies
(why do i slouch so much?!)
Think of us this weekend and send a little prayer out to Kelptyn for his miracle and to his parents to give them the strength they need to continue this fight for their little man.

Something I CANNOT Do
That's right folks, there is something that for the life of me, no matter how many times I try, I cannot seem to grasp the concept. I try again and again and nope, just doesn't work out for me. Mr. always says, you're such a great cook and you can't do the simplest of things. You're wondering what it is? I burn things...a LOT. When I say a lot I mean at least once a week, if not twice, three or four times, sometimes it happens in a single night. Bread is the worst for me. I can not seem to get toast right. Examples of things that I burned in the last 2 weeks alone.
Remember these cookies I made for Halloween? Yep I burned a whole batch of them, and I don't even have the excuse as, it was the first batch, because it was the first and the second batch.
And this sandwich I made? Yep, I just took a picture of the other side, did you notice how you couldn't see the top of the bun? Yep it was because I burned the tops and bottoms of them and didn't want to start over.
Then there is just the bread, I wanted a french loaf dipped in olive oil...and then I burned the outside...twice, wait no make that three times in one night.

(I did eat this piece of bread above, without cutting out the burnt parts, and I liked it)
My mom says, you know if you eat burnt bread it means that you don't value yourself and you deserve better than burnt bread. I tell her, no mom it's a necessity, if I didn't eat burnt bread I would starve...literally, I just took pictures of things I burned in two weeks, imagine how much I burn in a month? Bottom line I have learned to eat burnt bread out of necessity, and it's getting to the point where it's weird if I'm not eating burnt bread. Granted the bread burning business has been slowing down a bit since we got a toaster...it's that darn toaster oven I trust it EVERY.SINGLE.TIME that it's going to cook my bread to perfection, only to have my running towards the toaster oven yelling, My Toast, My Toast!
Don't worry, Baby Fox doesn't eat burnt bread...although he doesn't like bread in general so for now, he's safe...I think I need to slow down and stop multi-tasking while cooking anything that involves the toaster oven and I should be good. Although, what's my excuse for bacon? Darn.

Shirts, Shirts, and More Shirts!
I think I have inspired Mr., he saw this sale and then proceeded to buy 12, yes 12 new polo shirts. And the best part, they're not all solid colors, he bought some colors he's NEVER bought before, see the red, orange and green? Added bonus? He even got some with print on them...suffice to say I'm one happy girl, after being together for almost 10 years, I'm starting to rub off on him!
In other news...we just booked a little get-a-way, sans baby for next week! Dropping off Baby Fox with my parents and we're going to Santa Barbara for a few days before Thanksgiving! So excited! I needed this, work is...well work, you know when you just need to get away and forget about everything? Yep, that's where I am right now. I'm hoping to come back refreshed and ready to get back into work after the Holiday. Then we have Christmas a few weeks later, and I'm taking 2 weeks off then! It's like I don't even work...
Happy Hump Day!

Weekend Recap
Okay, let's try this again...
Thursday:
Our weekend started on Thursday, so that's where I'll start. Mr. had the day off, he had a music conference he was going to, and thought it was all day Thursday, but it turns out it was just check in after 5:30, but he had already taken the day off so he spent it with Baby Fox. When I get home, this is what I see from their day....
And last but not least, Lion...looking like he went through war and back, and sopping wet, don't let that smile fool you, he was wet as wet could be. (so the story goes, Colton was excited for Dada to be home, and he was waving Lion around, wanting Mr. to play puppet with him, but Dada was eating a BBQ sandwich for lunch first and Baby Fox was waving the lion around, saying "Lion, Dada, Lion Dada" when all of a sudden, Lion went flying and landed right in the extra BBQ sauce that Mr had set aside)
Baby Fox went to grab some Persian food, Kabobs...yum!, and the lady working there thought Baby Fox was so cute that she gave him a cement truck...Baby Fox wouldn't let the thing go, and played with it all weekend.
And then we had to put the truck to sleep because Baby Fox wanted it in his bed with him
He was really happy to see me, so much so that he was bouncing all around and took a header into the side of the crib...which resulted in...
Needing the "owie turtle"
Don't worry he's since recovered and the big red bump he had on his forehead went away by family picture time on Sunday.
Saturday:
I taught Colton how to make eggs...
Saturday night we went to visit my junior high school friends. I'm so happy that even though our lives are busy and we're starting to have kids, that we can still find time to get together and share all of these life milestones together.
We took some family pictures, which will be revealed at a later time and date. Plus we haven't gotten them back yet. I can say that the pictures are going to be awesome, just think, Baby Fox in a tux, cuteness overload! After the pictures Dada and Baby Fox spent some quality time watching football, Da Bears were playing, Mr.'s team. Gotta start them young!
One last thing, Baby Fox thinks he needs to keep his arm up when carrying something over his shoulder...

Swim stuff, clothes on the downstairs bathroom sink.
Colton's soaking wet clothes, along with some more swim stuff, in our bathroom upstairs
Baby Fox went to grab some Persian food, Kabobs...yum!, and the lady working there thought Baby Fox was so cute that she gave him a cement truck...Baby Fox wouldn't let the thing go, and played with it all weekend.
He thought Mama's legs made for a good road.
And then we had to put the truck to sleep because Baby Fox wanted it in his bed with him
(In case you wanted to know, Truck has already gone to Truck Heaven, Baby Fox, literally loved it to death)
Friday:
I put Baby Fox to bed with his sleep sack on...when I went to get him, he had figured out the zipper, zipped it down, and off...sneaky little guy!
He was really happy to see me, so much so that he was bouncing all around and took a header into the side of the crib...which resulted in...
Needing the "owie turtle"

Saturday:
I taught Colton how to make eggs...
(Mr. wanted me to tell you, that we don't normally dress our kid in mismatched clothes, he wanted to wear this short sleeved PJ set, but it was too cold, for Cali standards, for him to wear that to bed, so I threw on a long sleever shirt over it and some socks)
After breakfast Baby Fox inspected what was under the fridge...he was convinced something was under there.
Saturday night we went to visit my junior high school friends. I'm so happy that even though our lives are busy and we're starting to have kids, that we can still find time to get together and share all of these life milestones together.
(The girl on the far left, I've been friends with/known her since Kindergarten, that's 28 years of friendship right there)
Baby Fox was great at showing the younger kids the "ropes"
(the kids are 4.5 months and 3.5 months, yep Baby Fox is just that small, the one on the right only has to gain 9 pounds before he's all caught up to Baby Fox)
Sunday:
(Left) Every morning Baby Fox gets 3 oz of prune juice, and lately he's been
wanting it warm. I'll give you a second to let that sink in...warm prune
juice, what is he 90?
(Right) Baby Fox is showing Mama what he wants for breakfast, now that he's figured out how to open it. Don't judge what I have in the fridge, it's random I know. That pot up there is me being lazy, didn't want to put it in Tupperware, haha!
We took some family pictures, which will be revealed at a later time and date. Plus we haven't gotten them back yet. I can say that the pictures are going to be awesome, just think, Baby Fox in a tux, cuteness overload! One last thing, Baby Fox thinks he needs to keep his arm up when carrying something over his shoulder...
(Ignore the mess that I call my family room please)
And that was my weekend. I'm in training all week for work, fun times. Wish me luck that I don't die of boredom, it happens you know.

Baby Fox the Model
Okay, so this was going to be tomorrow's post, but I just wrote out this long weekend recap, and then it got deleted. I'm really sad...so you get tomorrow's post today and I'll rewrite today's post tomorrow. Boo! Why didn't undo work this time?!?
Baby Fox is a model! I asked him to stand there and pose for me...it actually worked! I think he was getting ready for our family pictures the next day. He looks like a little boy in these pictures, what happened to my baby?!
