Weekend Recap

Friday my Dad wanted to go to the beach to feed the seagulls. I'm not sure why someone would want to feed one, but hey, chance to go to the beach, ok why not?

Here's Baby Fox looking at the ocean. Not really, he's just climbing on those stumps.

The beach had this awesome playground for kids. Yes it was warm enough to wear shorts and t-shirts, don't hate us.

Baby Fox didn't quite get that you're suppose to tear the bread into pieces, so he would just throw the whole piece of bread.

While I was feeding Mini Fox, all of a sudden the whole beach erupted into applause and cheers, why? This couple just got engaged, how sweet is that?

Then we went to lunch at Johnny Rockets

Mini Fox enjoyed herself too

And you might ask what we did for Valentine's day? Got Thai take out and Baby Fox colored a ginormous card for me.

Me and my Valentine, love this kid! That card opens up 4 times to make a giant poster.

By the time I got around to scooping my dinner up, Mr. had eaten half of his, making for a bad picture

Mr. and I don't do Valentine's gifts, okay that's not true. Mr. gets me a Valentine's gift and I usually make him something. I made this for him, can you guess what it is?

If you guessed Creme Brulee, then you would be correct! This is without the sugar part of it, they're cooling
Saturday we went on a hike. Well it was going to be a hike, but then Baby Fox found trail he wanted to go on. Daddy dressed Mini Fox for our hike. Perhaps not hike appropriate, but she was definitely cute.

Our hike turned out to be more flat. But it was fun, was able to do some jogging with Mr. We haven't gone out jogging together in a really long time, so that was fun. Looking forward to many more hikes and walks with the kids.

Baby Fox wanted to take this big rock home, we told him he couldn't because it was marking the path.

Then we stumbled on this gem, of course the boys wanted to see what was up those stairs on the other side. It was a trail, in which they both wanted to go on, so me and Mr. picked up the stroller and carried it across these awesomely stable boards and up those stairs.

This is what was up those stairs.

Sunday Mini Fox and I went shopping together. Target, the mall, Bed Bath and Beyond, Buy Buy Baby, it was so much fun. I can't wait till she's old enough to really get into the shopping part with me. After nap time I took Baby Fox over to surprise my parents with a visit.

Then invited them over for Sunday dinner. We had ribs, bake potato and salad, yum!

We end every night with some reading.

Doesn't Baby Fox have the coolest bed?
And that's what we did. Guess what? Only 5 more months until I can finally upgrade to a phone with internet! I can wait that long...right?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy day of love! I went to a MNO and am back and just wanting to wind down, so yes it's 12:30am and I'm still not in bed, should be, but I'm not. Oops, will regret it tomorrow. But I had to share the cute photos I took of the kids.

Back when I just had one kid and had ample amounts of time, I did photo shoots with Baby Fox for each holiday. This was his Valentine's day one, he was 1.5 months old.

Doing the same thing with two kids and a wiggle 5 month old? Not as easy as a 1.5 month old let me tell ya. But here they are...

And then Baby Fox was spent and didn't want anything more to do with pictures...even after several attempts at bribes.

Mr. surprised me with flowers and chocolate covered strawberries (that he dipped himself! Double broiler and all) today, cause he knew I was going to be home from work today and he couldn't surprise me.

See there are strawberries, I just at most of them before I realized I should probably take a picture.

We're getting wild tonight and ordering take out Thai food and hanging with the kids. Boring but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Leggings!

I've jumped on the leggings train. Full on jump with both feet without looking. This girl said buy some, they're the most comfy things ever, I said okay. She wasn't wrong, these cover up the "muffin top" and sort of squish everything into place. I had been wearing them under skirts and dresses

but decided to go all out and just do it! So I did, and I really do love how this outfit came together. I put the shirt on, and thought it needs more then a necklace, so I put the scarf on. We were going to a birthday party that was going to be a little cold, so I added the light sweater.

In other news, guess what Mini Fox did over the weekend?

Does anyone else find it odd, that she can't roll from tummy to back (which is suppose to be the easier direction), but she can go from back to tummy. Strange. Anyway, she decided to do this at 2am, and then was so confused as to how she got there. I watched her in the monitor, she would look around, then lay her head down, the look around. When I went in to get her, she had this huge smile on her face, like she was saying, See Mommy what I did?

Because I posted something about Mini Fox, I'll post something about Baby Fox. My parents take him to the library once a week. They were looking at a book about a Wooly Mammoth and my dad says, so they lived a long time ago, and without missing a beat Baby Fox says, like Ice Age? My dad was floored, he had forgotten, no my son's not a genius but he just pays attention and had just recently watched Ice Age (the movie) on TV. haha, I should have played along though right?

Valentine's Day Card

First, I'm so tired today, I stayed up watching the Olympics, anyone else watching them?

As most of you already know I am a scrapbooker, yep, I'm nerdy like that. While I don't get to do it very often any more, but have the equivalent to a Micheal's in our guest room, I do enjoy any excuse to break out my stuff and create something.

I have a Cricut Expression. It looks like this:

source

It's one of the most amazing machines ever invented, okay I might be exagerating, but it's a pretty cool machine. You can pretty much cut shape/lettering out and then use this:

 or
source
If you don't know what this does, they make stickers. Yep that's right, you stick anything in there, and it puts a sticky backing on it, and viola you have a sticker.

I digress, with Valentine's THIS WEEK I thought that I would re-create some cards that I made a couple of years ago for some friends.

They looked like this:

This insides looked like this:

apparently I didn't know how to spell pretty when I made these, oops!

Everything was cut using the Cricut, how cool is that? So if you don't have one, go out and get one and start creating. I think this years card, will look really similar to those owl ones up there. Need to finish them by Wednesday so I can mail them out. Wish me luck.

Happy Monday!

Handprint Flower Bouquet

As promised, here is the hand print flower tutorial.

What You'll Need:

Paper
Paint - various colors if you want it colorful
Paint brush
sissors
Green pipe cleaner - I'm still using the pack of pipe cleaner from this project

What To do:

Step 1: Get your kids to make hand prints on your paper. Let me tell ya, getting a 4.5 month old hand print is hard work!

Step 2: Cut out the hand prints for your "flower" bloom

Step 3: Tape the pipe cleaner "stem" to the back of the hand

Step 4:  Make some "leaves"

I cut one pipe cleaner in half. Place pipe cleaner about where you want the leaf.

Put one side behind the "stem" and one side in front of the "stem"

Then I just folded it around the stem

Wrap the bottom half of your leaf

Do the same to for your other leaf.

Make as many or as little leaves as you want.

Have your kid give it to someone you love. It will make their day, really

Put flowers in a cute vase (Baby Fox wanted to give my mom the flowers while I wasn't home, so I never got a finished product picture. So I had to ask my mom to take one with her phone and send it to me, it was a miracle that a)she knew how to take a picture and b) that she knew how to send it, so I couldn't then get picky and ask her to send another one that wasn't blurry. Next time I go over there, I'll take a better picture).

See it was super simple to throw together if you need a last minute craft for someone.

Happy Friday! Hope you have a great weekend! I survived my first 5 day week of work, looking forward to spending some time with my kids and sleeping in past 4:30am!

Celebrating My Mama

Tuesday was my Mom's birthday. I already told you we celebrated with dinner and a movie on Saturday night.

In reality my mom is a hair taller then I am, I love tall shoes!
I had been working on a craft with the kids, handprint flowers. They turned out fantastic! Tutorial coming tomorrow.

Baby Fox couldn't wait to give them to her, so he gave them to her a day early. He's waiting for her and Ampa (my Dad) to come pick him up for the library and lunch.

Monday night Baby Fox and I made Nana a cake

Yes I actually let my 3 year old use a hand mixer, he thought it was the most awesome thing ever
What's a cake without decorations? White and pink sprinkles. Mini Fox wanted in on the action too, but she needs to work on her hand/eye coordination.

The finished product (the M&M's spell out NANA)

Nana loved her surprise cake and the fact that Baby Fox made and decorated it for her.

And of course Baby Fox had to help blow out the candles

Happy Birthday Nana, here's to many more birthday celebrations and cake making/decorating. We thank God everyday that we have such a wonderful Mom/Nana, who loves us unconditionally and will do anything for us. We hope we helped to make your day a little more special.
