Getting a two for one today! You get my normal outfit post and I'm also linking up with ShayMel and Sheaffer for a little What Up Wednesday.

What I'm wearing:

Happy Wednesday Foxy Friends! Remember a couple of weeks ago, when I wore the stripes and floral? And while I was looking for a similar striped skirt, I found this polka dot skirt and then ordered it before I even went back to typing up my post? Yeah, you all NEED to go get one! It is SOOOO freakin comfortable. It has a solid front waist, but an elastic backside so you get the comfort of the elastic, but don't get the look of it.

I ended up putting a wide belt on it, but I could have easily worn it without. The skirt also has texture and looks so much more expensive than $18!  I sort of want to get the white with black polka dots too...it's just so darn cute. They have several patterns, you should go check them out.

What we're eating this week:

Eating some left over Mexican food from the weekend, and I might have gotten some Thai food for dinner last night, and Thursday we're having Honey Lime Shrimp and corn on the cob, yum!

What I'm reminiscing about:

We're making plans for the pumpkin patch this was last year.

This is 2013...so crazy how much they've grown.

This girl was 2 months old.

Also family pictures, we took ours for this year on Sunday. Makes me think of past family pictures.

What I'm loving:

The cooler weather. I get to use a blanket when watching TV, my favorite. Plus I'm going to just say it. I get every other Friday off from work, for the last almost 7 years I've had kids with me on my off Friday, but this year, this is the year I get my Friday completely kid free for 4 hours. What?! Granted the first 2 off Fridays, I was doing things for the kids and then with the kid when I took her out early from school. But next Friday, all to myself!

What we've been up to:

So busy, our days are filled with soccer and more soccer and birthday parties and weddings and baby showers and hanging out with friends. I love every minute of it.

What I'm dreading:

Surprisingly nothing.

What I'm working on:

Have you heard about the Common Threads Challenge? I briefly mentioned it here. Anyway, going to talk about it again. It's where you pick 5 things from you closet and then you wear ONE of those 5 things each day for a month, to try and remix your closet and use it in a way you didn't think of before.

But picking 5 things...crazy hard! You don't want to pick all tops, because then you are wearing the same 5 tops all month. But then you don't want to pick all bottoms, cause that seems like it's "cheating" in a way. So I'm going to try and mix it up a bit. So far I have picked out my striped skirt (similar), and this blazer in black. I'm contemplating using this t-shirt in maroon, although I have it in three colors, and might have ordered it in two more colors...wonder if I can just count them all as t-shirt...haha, that's totally cheating. I think I'm going to pick a pair of jeans, must pick work appropriate ones. Then my last thing...not sure. I have 4 days to choose. I might do a pair of shoes?  Anyone else doing this challenge? What did you pick?

Your hosts are

Join all these fabulous ladies, I'm really hoping I can do this, I mean I CAN do this!

What I'm excited about:

All the fun things that are happening in the next few months. We have the pumpkin patch, a fundraiser, Halloween, and lots of hanging out with friends. Looking forward to it all!

What I'm watching/reading

Watching all the things. Let's see where to start. We watched Beyond, which was really good, really hoping they pick it up for a second season.

Then we started watching Grand Design, it's an HGTV type show, and it shows you super innovative houses and how people built them. It's a super impress show, as the episodes span over several years, crazy, they start filming something and then 4 years later they finally finish the project. Super cool.

Also Dark Matter, they just released season 3 yesterday, woo hoo!

We've already watched the ones above, and we moved onto Ozark, it is very Breaking Bad-ish, except with money laundering...super good!

All these shows are available on Netflix. Anyone see any of them?

What I'm listening to:

Currently books on tape. I just discovered our libarary has books on tape to "borrow". You download an app, enter your library number an viola, you have all these books at your finger tips. I started to listen to Hidden Figures. So far so good, although I do find myself not doing what I should be doing and just listening. There a bunch of books on there that I want to listen to. Obviously they don't have all of the books, but ours has a good selection.

What I'm doing this weekend:

We get to go to the Angels game and sit in the box seats, woo hoo! Mr. got two tickets from work, and then told the admin if she had any more he'd like one more, since he was taking Baby Fox, and Mini Fox was semi-heart broken. But then someone gave back both of their tickets, so now we get to make it a family affair.

Plus Sunday we're going to see Ninjago, the kids are excited.

What I'm looking forward to next month:

Well Fall weather, fall clothes, bring on the sweaters and warm things.

Bonus Question: What TV show are you most excited about this fall?

Grey's Anatomy and This is Us. Really, who isn't excited for This is Us, it kills me that we got rid of our cable at the end of last season, so now we have to wait an extra day before we can watch anything on Hulu, darn.

One More Swing Dress

Hello Foxy Friends! Happy Wednesday! It's almost the end of my week, woo hoo! Taking half day tomorrow and I have Friday off, except both days I have to take the kids to appointments. Thursday they are off to the dentist and then Friday Mini Fox has to go get a wart frozen off, NOT looking forward to that. I'm commissioned my Dad to come help so he can hold her down if necessary. I don't think I can do it, I want to cry just thinking about it. Okay moving on to outfit talk.

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

You can never have too many swing dresses right? At least I don't think you can. I saw this at Old Navy and HAD to get it. It fits like a dream is super soft and I want to wear it all the time. I might have to go buy it in more patterns. I'm probably only going to be able to wear this for another month or so, so I'll cherish the time I have with my new dress before the weather changes.

One more thing:

A few blogger friends are doing a Common Threads Challenge. I just love the thought behind this. Instead of picking out a capsule wardrobe, which for me is super scary, you pick out 5 things from your closet and use one of those 5 pieces in each outfit in October. So if you pick a shirt, shoes, skirt, dress and long sleeve top, you pick on of those 5 things, and incorporate that into your outfit. I just love it. Makes you stretch your mind, because it's a month long thing. So pick your items wisely and join them/me! Can't wait to start!

Pick, Pair, Share and Hair Challenge Week 27

Happy Wednesday! Hard coming back after a 5 day break. We had a blast going to my cousins to spend the 4th. More on that on Friday. We ended Create 28 last week, click here for the full recap on The Blended Blog.  Today we are introducing a fun summer casual challenge, Pick, Pair, Share, easy as that. Pick one from each category and have fun, #theblendedblogstyle on social media.

I decided with black, polka dot skirt. I actually bought this skirt off of Kiss Me Darling when I saw this skirt on her blog I was jealous and then a year or so later she was selling it, SOLD! So excited that I got it. Her pictures are gorgeous:

Here is how I styled it.

This skirt is seriously so comfy and light weight, perfect for summer.

I did my hair super easy, half up styles are my favorite.

Onto my hair styles this week...

Friday I had a day off, so I had time to do my hair before taking Baby Fox to school.

Sunday I went to my cousins to hang out, and didn't know that she was having a party! Like we showed up and her house was all decorated and I was like what's going on? She's like I thought you knew 30 people are coming over for a pre 4th celebration! I was like, say what?! But it was super fun. I hadn't done my hair, but knowing people were coming, my hair felt naked, so I threw it up in some braids just as people were getting there.

These pictures were taken around 11pm, all tired and watching Batman Vs. Superman, which I really liked and I think the poor reviews are bogus.

Tuesday I had a day date with Mr. We both ditched worked and had the day together, going to breakfast, shopping and a movie, it was great!

Now let's see what you have been styling this week! Remember to tag #theblendedblogstyle if you decide to pick, pair, share!

T-Shirts and Blazers

I was really bad at taking outfit pictures this week. Or maybe casue I'v just been repeating the outfits that Alison told me to wear for  The Spring Challenge and since it's still spring...But good news! Starting on Monday, she's starting her Summer list! If you write me down as the referral then I'll get $5 credit towards my Summer List! You should do it, seriously, it's pretty awesome community of ladies (just email me and I'll give you my last name).

I really need to work on my poses with dresses and skirts, I cannot stand the same as when I'm wearing pants, it's just not lady like or cute...oh well...

I wore this to Mr.'s concert on Sunday, super comfortable. I was going to wear a jean jacket with it, but then it was just too hot and I forgot my jacket when I walked out the door, oops! I found this dress at Target for $12 on the clearance rack, score!

Dress - Target (no longer available), Shoes - Nordstroms (no longer availabe in that color), Necklace - groopdealz (not sure who make its, but it's called a mini bubble necklace)

I really need to change my nail polish, when do people find the time with two kids running around, polish just takes WAY too long to dry! Although using this stuff, helps (when I say helps, I really mean is a miracle product that is so awesome I just want everyone to try it) with that, but just doing base coat + 2 coats + top coat = way too much time

Remember when I told you that I won a raffle?  Well along with a Target gift card I won this scarf too! It's from Cabi and it is oh so comfortable, light weight and did I mention what great colors it has in it? They call it the everyday scarf and they are oh so correct!

I wore this outfit yesterday to work. I started with wanting to wear the scarf, then thought, a grey tee would look good with it, but didn't want to wear jeans, so I paired it with my Old Navy small dotted pants and then when I was trying on jackets, the jean jacket just wasn't working, I threw on this blazer and out the door I went. Didn't even really look in the mirror, but when I got to work, I thought, hey this Tee/blazer thing really does work! I might need to get more blazers so I can try out other looks with them. What are your thoughts on blazers with tees?

Pants - Old Navy (similar), Tee - Target, Blazer - H&M (old), Scarf - Cabi, Wedges - Toms (Similar)

I think it looks just as great buttoned up too. Actually I think I like this way better.

I think that's all I got for now...oh I should cut off that tag on that scarf, I kept meaning to do it at work, but would only remember when I wasn't near a pair of scissors. Darn. Oh well, next time!

Once again I'm linking up with the ladies from the challenge, what inspires you? Tell me below!

A Post Full of Firsts

We're on to week 2 of  The Challenge. So far I'm having so much fun doing this, so thank you Alison for getting me out of my comfort zone and giving me easy outfits that I just have to grab in the morning and don't really have to think much about it.

In case you missed the first 2 days, click here. Now onto this weeks outfits.

Day 3:

This is the first time I've ever worn boyfriend jeans. I was really skeptical about them, but bought them from Old Navy for less than $20, so I figured I wasn't wasting too much money if I didn't like them, but turns out I really do! I thought they would make me look super short, but I don't think they do. What do you think?

Boyfriend Jeans - Old Navy, Bright Tank - Target, Sweater - Target, Shoes - Nordstroms, Necklace - Old, but they are everywhere

Most comfortable wedges EVER! Go get a pair right now! She told me too, so I had to listen.
 Day 4

I think this one was the most out of my comfort zone. I mean a striped jacket and my first time wearing a chambray shirt? In the same outfit? I never would have thought to pair this together. Perhaps it was the 4:30am wake up time that in my delirious state I had a stroke of genius or I grabbed the wrong thing, either way I think it worked really well.

Pink Jeans - White House Black Market (Fall Clearance),  Shirt - Target, Jacket - Target, Shoes - DSW (old), Scarf - Old Navy

Day 5

I thought this outfit was ultra comfy and great for a Friday casual work day (oops I'm writing this at work, and apparently I picked a picture with my eyes closed, oops!)

Skinny Jeans - Loft (these are curvy jeans, they are the best!), T-Shirt - Target, Sweater - Target, Shoes - Toms (similar), Bracelet and Necklace - Francesca's Collection (old)

Day 6

I love maxi skirts I think this might be my go-to outfit from now on...super comfortable and you look put together.

Bright Tank - Target, Skirt - Nordstroms, Cropped Jean Jacket - Old Navy, Shoes - Nordstroms (no longer available in this color), Necklace - Old, Bracelets (old)
Thought I would add a cute picture of Mini Fox

Day 7

I think this might be one of my favorites. I love how the cuff of the shirt is rolled over the sweater and the blue necklace, adds just the right amount of statement.

Boyfriend Jeans - Old Navy, Top - Target, Sweater - Target, Shoes - Toms (similar), Necklace - Forever 21 (old), Bracelet - Brighton

Day 8

I think this was my least favorite of this week. Only because I couldn't find accessories that made me feel like this was my own. I was in a rush in the morning and couldn't find anything to offset the pretty teal color of the shirt.  In other news, this was the first time that I rolled a pair of jeans that weren't the boyfriend jeans that were rolled for me. And it was my first time wearing my leopard flats.

Skinny Jeans - Loft, Shirt - Target, Shoes - DSW (No longer available), Necklace - Loft (old)

Baby Fox wanted in with me

Baby Fox wanted to help me take selfies, Mr. wasn't home when I wanted to take these pictures.

See him holding the remote?

Day 9

I thought this outfit was super fun to wear. Maybe next time I'll wear my leopard flats.

White Jeans - Loft, Bright Tank - Target, Cropped Jean Jacket - Target, Shoes - Nordstroms, Scarf - Old Navy

This challenge is definitely pushing me to do things I wouldn't have done on my own, leopard flats (actually my hookerish shoes, I have had them for over 6 years and have worn them once), boyfriend jeans, rolling my jeans, Chambray shirts, jean jackets with jeans, striped blazers with a chambray shirt, the list goes on. I'm excited to see where these outfits take me next!

I had some random stuff to tell you, but the post is getting mega long, so I'll save them for another day :) Hopefully I don't forget them in the mean time!
