Let's Talk: Entertainment

I'm back linking up with Andrea and Erika for Let's Talk, where each month they give us a topic to discuss, this month it's Entertainment as in what books, movies, magazines and blogs we love. So here it goes.

Books:

Okay so let's face it, I haven't been reading that much. The last book I read was Me Before You, which was a great book, I highly recommend it, I missed it at the theater, can't wait for it to come out on video.

Back when I was in high school, my dad would just pass the books he read on to me, he was obsessed with Jack Reacher books, have you heard of them? He is a former MP and trouble always just seems to find him, and he always solves the case. Jack Reacher is huge in my family, one person buys the book and the passes it to all the family member plus some extended family, Mr. joined in on the fun when we met.  Back in the day my dad always told us that these would make fantastic movies, and guess what, 20 years later they finally made it a movie. I guess this last book my parents just gave us is going to be the next Jack Reacher Movie, slated to come out end of October, so we're all trying to read it before it comes out.

Movies:

So once day I got sucked into watching youtube videos, you know how that is, and suddenly I find myself watching movie trailers, even though I haven't seen Me Before You yet, I know that I love Sam Claflin, so the movie trailer I saw called Love, Rosie. Super Cute, I recently discovered a friend who's wife is obsessed with buying movies, think over 2000 in their collection. So I asked if he had it, and of course he did...yay! They are my new Blockbuster. Anyway, it was a super cute movie and I really liked it, click here* to rent or buy the movie.

Does a series count? Mr. and I just finished watching The Man in the High Castle, it's an Amazon Prime show about what would happen if Germany won the war...super interesting premise. So if you have Amazon Prime movies, check this one out, season 2 comes out mid December, so you have time to catch up!

Magazines:

...ain't no one have time for that...okay I don't....and I have never been one for magazine reading, well when I was 13 I was obbesseed with Teen, but mom and dad didn't particularly like me reading it, so when my subscription ended, so did my love for magazine. Haven't really picked one up since.

Blogs I love:

Of course I love The Blended Blog and everyone that is a contributor. We have collected such a great/diverse group of woman who have interests all over the spectrum. I just love what every single lady brings to the table.

Elizabeth from Chasin' Mason, she is just so down to earth, her son is adorable and his love for post offices is just the cutest, plus she lives in a few cities over from me. One day we're going to meet!

Lindsay from Lindsays Sweet World, although I have not actually met her in person, she just seems like the sweetest person, with a great sense of style and killer interior decorating skills. Can she just be my personal stylist and decorator?

Beth from Our Pretty Little Girls, I was first drawn to her blog because she was taking a picture a week of her girls. I just thought that was so darn sweet, that I just had to keep following her journey. Weird that I remember that and that was why I followed along. But along the way she's becoming a blogging friend, she home schools her girls, which almost makes me want to do it too, but not quite, she seems WAY more patient than me at teaching someone something...anyway, I hope one day I get to meet her in real life.

I could go on forever, but I'll stop at three, anyone that you think I should check out and put in my must read file?

Friday Favorites #88

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! I have today off, woo hoo! Have to take the kids to the dentist, wish me luck...Mr. took them the last time, the first time I took them Mini Fox screamed the whole time. The second time Mr. said that Mini Fox did pretty good, the hygienist was super good with her and used the tooth whirly thing on every single one of her fingers to show her what it felt like before he put it in her mouth...talk about patient. Anyway, long story longer, wish me luck. Onto my favorites from this week:

In case you missed it this week:

Monday: $10 Target Haul (and I actually did something with everything)
Tuesday: Little Mermaid Birthday Party
Wednesday: My Favorite Summer Outfit
Thurdsay: I Confess

Back in Holy Cow, it's been almost a year...anyway, back last October, I won a Stitch Fix style fee from Courtney from A+Life
I have no idea why it took me so long to use it. But hey, better late than never. Anyway, I decided to give it another try, and it's coming next month! I'm so excited to get that little brown box with the teal sticker. I'm obsessed with reading everyones stitch fixes, like Elizabeth from Chasin Mason.

So next month you'll be getting a Stitch Fix reveal from me! Stay tuned.

Baby Fox is doing so good in soccer. Saturday Mr. went to play golf so Baby Fox helped me carry Mini Fox and all of the treats (it was our turn), Mini Fox was just too tired to walk, we woke her up 1.5 hours before her normal wake up time. Actually both kids were pretty tired.

Saturday night Mr. took Baby Fox to the ballgame so Mini Fox and I hit up the mall, of course!

She picked Cheesecake Factory for dinner, it was delicious.

Sunday we hit up a party for a friend at the kids favorite play place. They would come here all day everyday if they could.

My friend did a great job with the decorations, it was a Power Puff Girls take on Godzilla.

I thought these were super cute.

Girlfriends, nothing better.

That Mini Fox is a dare devil I tell ya. I had a mini heartattach when she was coming down.

Some videos I've been liking lately...for whatever reason I could no stop laughing at this...

Confession Time...

I've always seen people do Thursday confessions, but I have never done one before, I'm not sure why. So here I am linking up with Danielle for some confessions..hopefully you still like me when I'm done.

- That keeping the windows open makes me a better mother, I think twice before I yell because what would the neighbors think

- That the reason I want to yell above is that I hate bath time...they never listen and I always get wet.

- That I hate closing my eyes in the shower, I've watched one too many horror movies and I always expect someone to be standing there when I open my eyes. When I use my Clarasonic in the shower, it give so much anxiety because I have to keep my eyes shut for 2 minutes...torture I tell you.

-  That every month I say I'm not going to buy any clothes and within a few days of a new month I'm buying new clothes, oops! I made my first purchase to Shein last week, looking forward to getting the new stuff.

- I go out of my way to break up a line of ants...just to see them run around all crazy. Ants are the bane of my existence (I am not even exaggerating, words cannot express how much I hate them).

- I can't have more than one swipe to the right of apps on my phone. If I have to go to three screens I either delete an app or I group a bunch together, which always makes it harder for me to find it.

- I NEVER set my alarm on a "0" or "5", I haven't since I started setting my alarm, and I don't plan on stopping now, typically I set my alarm in the morning for 4:28am, also my clock is 10 minutes fast, so I can really mentally prepare to get out of bed.

- I cannot for the life of me figure out Snapchat. Seriously, I've tried, and tried, but just cannot get it. All those cool over lays all of you do, have NO IDEA how to do it...

-I hate not putting a picture of something other than graphics, but what else goes with this? I could try to find some awesome meme's or .gifs like Rebecca Jo does, but I'm just not even going to try, she's the master. Give me lessons :)

I think that is enough confessions for one day. Make me feel better, any confessions you want to fess up on?

Don't forget to enter the giveaway, only one day left!

What I Wore - My Go to Summer Outfit

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! We're here in that time frame when the summer if fading and Fall is coming, but not quite yet. Okay so where I live that might not be applicable, but we are having an unseasonably cooler summer (I know I"m going to be eating those words come October when the 100° weather finally hits us), and I am loving every second of it. That being said, on Sunday it was 91° out which calls for my go to summer outfit.

These are probably the most comfortable shorts I own, if I could wear them all day everyday I totally would, unfortunately that thing called work, boo!

I haven't been feeling the hair thing lately, I did curl my hair though, so that's something. I haven't done that in a while. I felt that a simple get the hair off of my face would be perfect for going to a kids party at a play place.

I do have to say that my hair did turn out pretty good, I often wonder what do I do different that make my curls look good one time but not others...still trying to figure that one out. If I figure it out you'll be the first to know.

I had Mr. take this super close up picture of me so I could show you my lipstick. I've mentioned the Kylie Lip Kits on Friday, and here is the Posie K, I put it on about 10:45am, and I'm taking this picture at 5pm, I have no reapplied at all. Amazing right? I highly recommend them. I am ordering some Colour Pop next, which is apparently a dupe of the Kylie Lip kits but only $6 instead of $29. I'll keep you posted.

I only did things to my hair this week that you've seen before...boring I know. I'll get back on the wagon...promise. I have Friday off, so during naptime I'm going to record a video on how to pancake your braid...anyone want to know how to do that? Or would you rather see something else? Let me know in the comments and I'll make it on Friday.

Now that summer is coming to an end...in some places, what have you been wearing to transition? Link up below to show us the must have before summer ends!

But wait before you go! Don't forget to enter our $150 giveaway over at The Blended Blog, we're celebrating our 1 year blogiversary and want to share the occasion with you! You have 2 more days! So get to answering those questions!

Little Mermaid Birthday Party

Happy Tuesday Foxy Friends. I hope everyone had a good Monday. I'm still recovering from Mini Fox's birthday party last week. Literally I'm too lazy/tired to clean up the party stuff from last weekend...I really need to get on that...I will, this weekend, maybe. Anyway, I thought I would show you more details of her Little Mermaid party.

I tried to be better about taking pictures. I might have done only slightly better in the past...Mini Fox has been obsessed with all things Ariel for a while now, so when I asked her what she wanted her birthday theme to be it came as no surprise that she wanted an Ariel party. Although if you say Little Mermaid she always corrects you and says, NO it's Ariel.

We have a super big open space in our living room, typically I will create a huge background for it. I always start with a plastic table cloth from Party City and go from there, tutorial coming soon.

The net I got from Oriental Trading Company. It's pretty thin, so I didn't have to worry about the plates being uneven on them. The shells I borrowed from a neighbor, I think it really makes the whole table, something that you can get at Michael's or Hobby Lobby I would think.

My mom said that she wanted to make the cakes and cupcakes, one less thing on my plate, I'm all for it. I ended up buying the Ariel cake pictures, turns out it's pretty hard to find a mermaid cake, or anything that my novice skills could recreate, so I went the easy route. My mom definitely thanked me for that one. They also found these cute fishy cupcakes and ice cream cone mermaid tails, aren't they just the cutest?

For the drink I knew I wanted to do those circles in the background. I basically cut out the circles on my cricut and then sewed them together. Literally the easiest thing on the planet to do. If you want a quick video tutorial on that, comment below and I can put that together!

I also made those same circles to decorate Mini Fox's door when she came out of her room. She loved it, and they are currently still there on her door.

Full on bedhead right there
The table I just did the easy stuff, Mermaid tablecloth and the normal table decorations you can find with any themed party you want to throw.

For the thank you's I had some left over sea horses that I didn't use for the background, so I stuck them on the all and I happen to have enough to spell out Thanks, perfect right?

I couldn't think of what I wanted to do for thank you's and I felt that the normal goody bag filled with stuff that mom's don't really want to deal with, so instead I decided to make some cake pops. Hey I wasn't making the cake so I might as well make something else right. I bought these tongs that had shapes on the end of it, that you put the cake pop mix into, that's how I got the star shape, They also had a shell and a heart shape, but the star looked the best.

The last thing I did, super last minute was put together a wreath. I could have used my normal wreath, but decided to make a new one so I could sell it when I was done, or put it on Mini Fox's bedroom door if she wanted it there. I bought the burlap and Mini Fox decided that she wanted pink and the teal color to go with it. I had bought the cupcake toppers thinking I was going to make cupcakes, but my mom ended up making them and she didn't need them, so I last minute stuck them into the wreath. I think it turned out pretty fantastic. Click here for my basic wreath tutorial, and click here for the color burlap and extra decorations. I make every single one of them the same, so apply those same concepts to this wreath as well.

All in all I think the birthday girl had a fantastic time and she said that it was the best birthday ever. Worth all of the hard work I put into it.

Target Haul: September Edition

Happy Monday Foxy Friends! I actually got my act together enough to go my Target Haul early plus I actually did something with the things that I got, win! Since it was late August when I went there was a lot of school stuff. I'm so jealous of my friends who got the awesome first day of school sign in the dollar bin. Next June I am so all over that. Let's get to it.

I got some really fun things. I actually picked these up and had no idea what I was going to do with them. I originally bought both of the signs thinking Baby Fox would use one of them for his first day of school sign. After I had asked him which sign he wanted, everything just fell into place.

Baby Fox decided that he wanted to use the big green chalkboard for his first day of school photos, done. I tried to buy the chalk paint and guess what? They don't work. It doesn't come off. Oh well, now we have it forever.

I was trying to figure out what to do with the crayon sign and then realized it would make a great wreath for Fall, along with the apple garland, which I ended up cutting apart. This is what I came up with. If you want the tutorial click here.

Have you found any good deals at Target lately?
