Friday Favorites #156

Hi Foxy Friends! Happy Friday! Today is my day off, woo hoo, I love my off Fridays, makes the longer work days the other 9 days worth it. Having our friends over for dinner as usual...have no idea what I'm making for dinner...at least this is our last non-meat Friday, at least where we are making dinner. What to make, what to make....anyway, here are my Friday Favorites.

In case you missed it this week:

Monday: $10 Target Haul
Bonus Monday: My Favorite Hair Products
Tuesday: 3 Tips To Plan A Surprise Party
Wednesday: Favorite Cold Should Sweater
Thursday: Trying 15 colors of Lipsense

CrystalBethJess  and Stephanie host a monthly link up, it's simple, 5 things that bring you joy. So here are my 5 things for the month.

| One | That Lipsense video up there, it was so fun to make/edit and I love make up. I'm finding a new love for making videos. I have so many ideas in my head and not enough hours in the day.

| Two | New friends. I've been going to the gym with this lady for the past couple of years, and we've been friendly and talked, our kids go to the same school, but recently we've been talking more and we're finding that we have so much in common and are wondering why we didn't talk sooner! It's always fun finding new friends. Plus they kids get along with our kids and the husbands get along...so it's win-win. Glad to have new friends to hang out with.

| THREE | Throwing my aunt her surprise party. It was the best. Read all about it here.

| Four | These kids. They are at such a great age. Great to talk them out, to travel with them and to explore the world with them!

| Five | Friday night dinners with these folks. We swap whose house we go to each week and it's the BEST way to end the week with good friends, movies and snuggles.

Other things happening in my world. Ice cream dates, those are fun. No one can turn down Thrifty's ice cream.

Legoland trip a couple of weeks ago, was so much fun, we were only there for 6 hours but it was so fun, and the weather was perfect and the ride lines were short!

This girls started soccer last Saturday. Amazing what a year will do. She's right in there, and not the youngest on the team...woo hoo! Oh and she posed like this all on her own. I did not have anything to do with it.

Mini Fox is getting so strong. She stayed like this longer than any of the boys in her class. She's one touch chick.

This made me laugh, once a dad always a dad. I was coordinating with my dad picking up Baby Fox from school and this is how he ends our conversation.

Also you know a huge group message was going around while you didn't have your phone on you during surprise party when you see how many text messages you have.

Last week we celebrated Mr.'s birthday. The day of was just a normal day, baseball, I left my phone at the gym, so had to leave the kids with him to go retrieve phone, luckily it was exactly where I left it on the treadmill an hour later! This is why I love my gym so much! But we did celebrate the next night with some friends.  I made prime rib that came out perfect!

Made a carrot cake...everyone said it was really good.

And sang happy birthday...it was a great evening.

Here's to many more birthday celebrations!

This is just a feel good segment from American Idol...which I thought went away? I'm so confused...why is it back?

I need this in my office, I think all of us could use it right about now.

Yep, this. I need this in my life.

Friday Joys: October Edition

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! I'm so excited to be joining CrystalBeth, Jessica, and Stephanie again for What Brings Me Joy. This month the two co-hosts are Emily from Three Boys and a Girl & Johannah from The Sirois Family. I love this link up as it reminds us to stop and really think about the little things that bring you joy. I'm over on The Blended Blog sharing some blogger Friday love around the internet. Go check those out too. Okay, month #2, let's get started!

| ONE |

Baby Fox's love for school and learning and reading. His reading is getting better each day and his love for math makes this geeky engineers heart soar. Doing his homework the other day, this is a question that was asked and his answer. His first resonse was "it is wrong", then Mr. says why do you think that is? Well his answer totally makes sense to me.

| TWO |

This girls love for gymnastics. I remember being her age and how much I loved gymnastics. I wish I could find my old pictures, I have no idea where they all are...one day I'll come across them.

Showing off all of her stamps she got from the teacher (one on each foot and each arm).

| THREE |

My days are long, like really long. I wake up at 4:15ish, leave the house by 4:50am, then head to work, am at my desk at 6am, work until 3:20pm, then get home at 5:15pm (yep that's almost a 2 hour drive home). Then have all the kids stuff, working out, etc to do...then hanging out with Mr. puts me to bed around 11pm. Anyway, all this to say, that it's the small things in my daily life that make it more bearable, like this salad from Costco. It's insane that a salad could brighten my day, but hey sitting at a desk for 9+ hours and in traffic for 2.5+ hours a day...I look forward to that salad everyday.

| FOUR |

The fact that my bestie now lives in the same area that I live in. Not that we see each other every week, but knowing that she lives close and we can now hang out for an evening without having to make it a whole weekend trip, now that's awesome. Happy that our kids will get to see each other more and get to know one another.

| FIVE |

Flowers in October. Yes it's been so hot here you can barely breathe, okay that's totally dramatic, but with the heat means the flowers get confused and we get another full rose bushes bloom. So I get Halloween decorations with fresh cut roses. Doesn't get much better then that. I took these over the weekend.

| Bonus |

And one extra one today, although I'm not sure if it is a 5 rule or not, eh. I feel like sharing more. All of the Halloween festivities, Halloween is SO MUCH more fun when you have kids. We went to Baby Fox's first school function and it was called Boo Bash, they had games, a haunted house, trunk or treating (which totally confused the kids, like why am I walking up to someones trunk and saying trick or treat?)

Happy Friday! What are you doing this weekend? We are doing yet another trunk or treat at my parents church and then Sunday we have NOTHING planned, glorious.

Friday Favorites: What Brings Me Joy

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! I'm so excited to be joining CrystalBeth, Jessica, and Stephanie for What Brings Me Joy. I love this link up as it reminds us to stop and really think about the little things that bring you joy. This month Heather from My Glittery Heart and I are the co-hosts!

Celebrating my cousin who is pregnant with her second girl. I love that I have so many cousins, so we get lots of new baby snuggles. This prevents me from actually having another baby when I get to love on someone else's baby and then hand them back. Haha. Last weekend was her baby shower and it was so much fun with so much love and support, it was awesome, and just made me incredibly happy, and made the 3 hour drive (round trip) worth it!

Celebrating weddings also makes me incredibly happy. I mean who doesn't love a good wedding. It was on the beach, I mean people were having to lift up their feet as the waves rolled in, haha. But the bride and groom were so happy, and did not stop smiling the whole time. Funny, they both live in Austin, met each other and then found out both of their families lived miles apart. Funny how the world works like that.

I just love this picture of the happy couple.

Beach days bring me joy. For whatever reason we didn't really go to the beach in years past, even though we live about 20 minutes away, crazy right? Lately we've been getting to the beach more often and I'm loving it. The kids can play, dig and are more independent, so Mr. and I can really sit back and relax and watch the kids play.

Those are random kids my kids found to play with, it was awesome that kids just look at each other say, hey can I dig with you and they are besties.

I mean views like this, yes please! Plus the can play for 6+ hours before we really need to leave, and even then they want to stay longer.

The last time we went apple picking I looked like this (6ish months pregnant) with Baby Fox.:

Now we have two kids...crazy.

Meeting up with friends make it even more fun to go apple picking. This lady was one of my first friends when I moved here. She has since moved away, but we have tried to get together.

The gang is back together again. We're just missing another family, next year we're dragging them with!

Being silly with my family brings me joy too. Just having random family day or doing errands together, or cleaning up together, really anything that we're together for brings me joy.

In case you can't see, Baby Fox is trying to discretely blow that straw wrapper in my face.

Snuggles just before bed are the best.

Make sure to go visit the other co-hosts and see what brings them joy this month.
