Friday Favorites #108

Happy St. Patrick's Day Foxy Friends! Hope you are all wearing green, else consider this my virtual pinch. My first full week at work in a LONG time, I had been traveling so much that I never was working on Friday, good for those times, boo for this week. Anyway, let's jump right into it.

It was Mr.'s birthday this past Wednesday. He didn't want a big party...and swore to me that if I threw a surprise one that he would have it in for me...so I didn't. I was good and we laid low. On Tuesday we went to my parents for his favorite meal my mom makes, lasagna...which of course I forgot to take a picture of. I did however take one of Baby Fox preparing the bread...he was very particular how the olive oil was administered.

Mini Fox is really into crafts and being an artist, as she says, and made Mr. a birthday crown. She cut all of that up, put it together by herself and then presented it to Mr. So darn cute.

On his actual birthday he just wanted it to be us 4, so we went to our favorite Mexican place and chowed down and then came home to some homemade carrot cake, recipe coming soon.

Everyone was done was done with selfies, but got one of the birthday boy and the kids at least.

I'm joining Desiree, Stefanie, Justine and Whitney for their new link up called A Year Of Color. Each month they want us to showcase the color of the month, however you want to represent that. This month is green, obviously.

I thought this month's color for green was perfect, I mean it is St. Patty's Day! Today I'm sharing the picture I'm going to use for our year family calendar. It seems like it gets harder and harder to get pictures of the kids each month...come on kids work with me here!

First up is my girl Cara, she's got it all going on, and she's a pro at make up for beginners, seriously she has the best tips. This week she talks all about color correcting. I've always wondered about it, but never done anything with it, because...well, lazy. But look no further, she's got it all written out and ready at your finger tips.

Christy was this weeks host on The Blended Blog's Tasty Tuesday, and she introduced me to my newest NEED, yes I said need, I NEED this french fry cutter.

You have to watch this spoof...it's hilarious! And somewhat true when you're sort of first starting out doing make up, LOL. I definitely have been the victim of the, the sales lady is super pretty and intimidating, I'm going to buy this so she just goes away, hehe.

What?! This girl is 3!! She is Mini Fox's age...I can't even...

 

Hope you all have a great weekend! My Mother in Law is coming into town to help us celebrate some more and we're headed to a soccer game (Mini Fox) and a baseball game (Baby Fox), and of course the two games are at the exact same time...happy weekending!

Friday Favorites #89

Happy Friday Foxy Friends!  We made it, for whatever reason this week was a little slow for me...but we're at the weekend now and I know it's just going to zoom by, don't all weekends seem to do that? As always here are some things that have been my favorites this week.

Some pictures in my life lately...

Last week I took my first AMP cycle...who knew you could actually do pushups on the bike while riding...holy cow what a workout!

The kids did mostly great at the dentist, but I have definitely decided Mr. is taking them from now on, he always does great with them and they never cried. Mini Fox cried a bit, so I had to pretty much hold her down, insert sad face. But good news, no cavities. She loves this giant tiger, she calls it her "good girl" when I told her we were leaving she said, by good girl, be good until I get home.

I thought we were doing good with her sitting on the chair...nope..do you see the TV up there? Cool right?

Baby Fox had a friend sleep over last weekend, see Baby Fox's legs up like that? Yep...totally me, Mr. thinks it's super creepy that we can sleep with our legs up like that...

But wait...Mini Fox does it too...haha...three peas in a pod. And can she have any more stuff in her bed? How does she sleep?

Quality pool acrobatics last weekend in the pool.

 I know everyone and their mom has talked about this already, but I just had to mention it, This Is Us...like seriously, I can't even. So freakin' good, and I wanted to cry about a bazillion times. I made Mr. watch it with me on Wednesday night, and he said he called that twist ending half way through the show...what?! He does that all the time, smart guy that one. Can't wait to see the second episode...addicted already. OH and can I mention Milo Ventimiglia, freaking amazing actor.

1 Year and Still a Miracle

Last year for the Super Bowl, my aunt was sitting in a hospital room waiting for a heart. Note: Super Bowl Sunday has a large amount of car accidents. She got the call at 9pm, that someone in her area was a match and she was going to get a new heart! Had she gone into heart failure any other time of the year, she would have probably died due to lack of hearts. While it's sad that someone's family suffered such a great loss, I have to be happy that we got my aunt for more time.

She was a marathon runner, thought 12 miles was a "short" run and lived life to the fullest. I couldn't think of anyone that deserves a heart more.

Here she is at Thanksgiving 2012, 9 months later. Doesn't she look great?

We are so happy that we get to celebrate more holidays and more family milestones together.

I would also like to say Happy Birthday to my mom. She's the best Mom a girl could ask for. Hope you have a happy happy birthday Mom!

Cause Everyone has a Birthday Tree

As you know Baby Fox's birthday is on Christmas Day. Mr's best friend was born on Christmas too and seriously got the shaft every single year. So in hopes that doesn't happen to Baby Fox (like that would ever happen), we decided to celebrate his birthday with a Christmas twist, enter the Birthday Tree. Last year we decorated it in Cars theme, but this year we just did birthday festivities. We also decided that since everyone is so busy during the holidays that we're going to start throwing him a 1/2 birthday party, until he tells us otherwise. Mr. wants me to make some letters spelling out Baby Fox's name to display across the top somewhere, been too lazy to do so...yet.

On my mind:

• That awkward moment when you thought no one was emailing you, but realized the email forward function was disabled...doh! And that other awkward moment when you realize the email replies go back 3 months and wondering, does she really remember writing that random email commenting that my son was born on Christmas (Sorry Yi-chia! Love you!)? Probably not, so from now on, I'm emailing back and checking both accounts! So sorry to all of those that emailed me really kind responses and never heard back from me. Really I don't usually ignore emails, really, I'll prove it to you if it's the last thing I do!

• Funny things that happen to Mr. - He comes home and tells me, I have a story to tell you. It was too good to just text you, so I waited to get home. And this is his story: So I was walking in the parking lot at work and you know when you're walking and you see a leaf or a rock and you kick it? Well I saw this leaf and kicked it and when it landed it flipped over and started WALKING! I was like, what the hell is that thing?! I ran to my car jumped in and then ran that sucker over. I'm fairly certain it was plotting his revenge on me and would get me on my way back into the office, I had no other choice then to run him over with my car. I had asked him did you get a picture first? He said, hell no I was running to my car. And that my friends is my manly man, love him! 

• Only 6 more days till Christmas shut down at work for two weeks, woo hoo!
