Little Black Dress Styled Three Ways - Date Night, Brunch, Shopping

Hi Foxy Friends! Back with another outfit post. I know who am I? It's like I'm a fashion blog...said no one ever. Anyway, I just got this dress from the cutest shop, called My Cute Closet. It's a local mama owned shop and her stuff is just the cutest. This dress is so cute a few of us bought it. She has no idea I'm showcasing her today, so give her some love on IG, and tell her hi, and check out some of her stuff.

Anyway, I thought I would style this dress three ways: a date night, brunch or a day out shopping.

First up is the day out shopping. Nothing says shopping like a good pair of tennis shoes. You've seen these before.

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. Click here for my disclosure page.

If you're out shopping and you get a little cold, nothing like a cute jean jacket to go dress anything down just a bit, but still look SUPER cute.

Okay, now you've just woken up and your friend has called and wants to go to Brunch. You need a super cute outfit and quick, use this same outfit, but add sandals instead.

Sandals (similar), These ones are super cute with the bow, same company that mine are from (so size up, I ordered them in my size and needed to size up)

Alright, after brunch, you've now been asked on a date, switch out those shoes, add some darker make up and you've got the perfect date night outfit.

You could change out your jewelry too, add a cute sweater and call it dat night.

So that is three ways to style 1 dress. So for under $35, I think you should all go get this dress! Sizes are super limited so get it quick!

Friday Favorites #8

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! Today is my day off and the kids have only at home work because they're going back to school full time next week! So they had to take today to change the classrooms over to accommodate all of the kids. So excited, I'm taking the kids to lunch and to some flower fields to hopefully get some amazing pictures. This was the last time we went.

Okay onto my favorites of the week.

I'm joining the ladies again from #StyledAcrossTheStates for another week, this week we're styling dresses. During the summer I pretty much live in dresses, they are just so easy, not constricting and keeps you cool. This is my newest one that I got from my Sweetly Striped. I know I keep talking about Jessica's shop, but I just can't help but buy everything! I swear I get nothing from promoting her, I just really love her shop!

This dress is just too cute. I do have to get it altered a bit in the straps, and looking at these pictures, I think I'm going to get the hem taken up a bit. With short legs I'm constantly getting things altered.

Dress / Shoes (similar)/ Jacket (Similar) / Earrings (got them from here, they are no longer available but have other great options) / Bracelets (Sweetly Striped...again) / Necklace (Sweetly Striped, are we surprised at this point?)

I've been all about the dainty necklaces lately, this one fits the bill perfectly.

The easiest way to pull a look together is a jean jacket. Old Navy has some great options. I like having longer ones and cropped ones depending on your outfit.

You can't tell from above, but I just love the mini striped detail on this dress.

Today is my Dad's birthday! He's turning 75! I couldn't imagine a better Grandpa for my kids, he is constantly picking them up from school and taking them for French fries (Pre Covid), hopefully that starts up again soon! Goes to all the games and sometimes practices too.

Things happening around our house lately. Mr. and I got a new mattress. We decided to try and mattress in a box. I'll let you know how we like it. Our first night was Thursday night, so I'll let you know.

We had Indian food the other night and forgot how much we loved it. But it was quite pricey, so we decided to try and make it in our own. By we, I mean me...I made it...lol. Mr. found the recipe. I made Tiki Masala, homemade Naan and garlic butter rice, it was so delicious, and it will be happening again!

Our towel rack broke...so Mr. is trying to fix it, see the next picture.

He rigged it upside down and filled the base with cement...two days later and it's still drying, I'll keep you posted.

I'm making a cup for a friend, thought I'd share how I made them. I spray paint a cup.

Glitter it

Epoxy it, and then add some quote or pictures to it...it's currently still spinning so I can't show you the finished product yet. Check out my IG in a couple of days and you'll probably see the finished product.

We have some new friends in our garden...hopefully we get to see them turn into butterflies.

Got my second shot on Monday and I'm so happy to be done, 11 more days and I'll be fully vaccinated! A lot of our friends are getting their second shots soon, so we can maybe start seeing more friends soon! At least go out to dinner! Happy for that, and hoping the numbers continue to go down where I live.

The kids are in Kindness Club at school (via Zoom) and each week they have a specific task of kindness to try and do, this week was to make food for someone. Mini Fox made me my favorite lemonade and Baby Fox made me a fruit bowl.

Other then that, life is starting to pick back up. Slowly starting to get busy. This kid has sports 6 days a week, but he never complains about it. Baseball, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Football on Thursday and Fridays.

This girl has horseback riding too. She really wants to get back to gymnastics, so hopefully when Mr. and I fully vaccinated and Baby Fox is down to one sport we can start her back up in that!

Mini Fox's riding pants, under $25, in case you need a pair. Good quality and comfortable, she loves them.

Alright, I think that's it for this post. A lot of pictures I know. Thanks for sticking with me. See you all next week!

Skirts and Sneakers

Hi Foxy Friends! Another outfit post for you. I thought instead of clumping in my outfit post on Friday, I would get my act together sooner, and do it on Wednesday Thursday instead :) I have been participating in a fashion IG collab #styledacrossthestates, where each week we pick an item of clothing to style. This week is our favorite sneakers. If you want to join in on the fun, use #Styledacrossthestates4 (because this is the 4th week we've done this) and like all of the others who use that hash tag.

I love the way you can dress down a cute skirt with some tennis shoes. I love these rose gold adidas ones. I wear them all the time, and I might have them in several colors. I think I'll be pairing my skirts and dresses with tennis shoes all summer long. Or I might have to get these sandals, for under $20 and 226 4.5 star rating, I think I need to try them!

Bracelet (similar)

Sad that the necklace fell below my shirt and you can't see it fully. But it's from my friends cute shop and it's only $15.99. It's a layered necklace with one clasp, so no worrying about it getting mixed together behind your neck and then stuck in your hair.

Speaking of hair, I'm so excited I'm getting my hair done today! After months of not going because of high numbers in my area...finally getting rid of some of those greys. So next week expect slightly shorter hair and no grey hairs peaking out.

Here's me trying to pretend to be a model, and do different poses that I don't normally do. Thought I would share these with you, since I'm on over sharer of pictures sometimes.

Me trying to show off the shoes, because they are shoes, and in the grass and you couldn't see them, so I did this...didn't really work, but I'll embarrass me to show you that everyone has those horrible pictures.

This one was the wind blown look, I'm not sure how that happened, but sort of loving how my hair turned out in this one.

We can't forget the ones I tried to take pictures of my shoes...you know because you can't really see them in the pictures above...not sure which I'm going to use for my post tomorrow of all of these picture you have seen, what do you think?

This one I was trying to mimick the pictures you see on any website really where they are on their toes...I think it just looks funny, like why would your feet be in this position to get a shoe shot? Hmmm...

Alright I'm out before I embarrass myself any more :) See you tomorrow for a Friday favorites!

If you wanted to change things up for a date night, add a tighter shirt, and of course strips won this time.

Can I tell you how soft this shirt is? It says off the shoulders, no hiking it down around your shoulders and fits perfect. Very happy with this shirt and for under $30 can't really beat it.
