Fun Filled Labor Day Weekend

Baby Fox's first day of school on Friday. I took the day off so I could walk him to school, does anyone else do that too? I hope I'm not the only one that does that. In case you can't read that, he wants to be a captain of a cruise ship. I have no idea where he got the cruise ship part.

Mr. took the morning off so we could both walk him to school.

After school I took him for an afternoon treat. He was so excited. Funny story, he had to use the restroom a few bites in, so we had to leave the yogurt on the table and he said, but they might throw it away, and I said they won't throw it away. Sure enough we come out of the bathroom and the lady had thrown it away. Baby Fox then says, See I told you that would happen! The lady gave us some free yogurt, so Baby Fox was happy once again.

And then a miracle happened and I got to go to Costco by myself...let me tell you a Friday at 2:30, does NOT mean an empty Costco...it means everyone on the face of the planet is there...don't you people work?!

Baby Fox decided that he wanted to spend the night at my parents house, so off he went to their house. We rarely get time with just Mini Fox, it was a nice treat. After naptime, we did a family trip to get dinner, I had to pick up some allergy stuff at the pharmacy and Mini Fox joined me...

Then she pretended to be sleeping....twice.

Saturday, I went on my usual hike, I love that hike, but I might have to cut back on it a bit. It's too early to wake up like that 6 days a week, I need some more sleep! But I'll do it when I feel like I've gotten more sleep during the week. Perhaps I should get more than 4-5 hours a sleep a night...

Baby Fox was still at my parents house, having a ton of fun, we decided to get out the shopping cart that used to be Baby Fox's for Mini Fox...she loved it, and pretty much wouldn't let it out of her sight the entire weekend.

We had some friends over Saturday night, swimming and BBQing...what could be better.

Mr. wanted tri-tip, it was delicious.

The friends we had come over had a couple of extra tickets to the Angels game the next day, so Mr. and Baby Fox went and did that bright and early Sunday morning.

But first the two boys helped Mini Fox down the stairs, it was so cute.

Mr. said he did this for the first two innings.

I assume it's our friends ipad, since we don't have one really, but when it ran out of battery, Baby Fox looks up at Mr. and says, it's out of juice, now what? haha.

Well he shared his cotton candy, after I guess he ran after the guy to get the last one. She's eyeing his cotton candy...

He was a good sharer.

Mean while, Mini Fox and I played some more with her cart.

And then went to church and had our customary donuts afterwards.

outfit change after breakfast, she made a mess of the first one, and it wasn't really a church outfit anyway.
We did a few errands after church, she insisted that we bring doggy in with us.

After the boys got back and Mini Fox got up from her nap, we did a quick grocery store turn. Mini Fox said that her shoes hurt, and Baby Fox was trying to fix the problem, it didn't work...

So he held her hand until we got home to make her feel better.

But then when they wanted to help bring in groceries, he pawned his off on her

She seemed more than happy to oblige

Then I finally got out the chalk board he's been asking for all weekend. Both were happy campers.

Monday was Labor Day, and your pretty much required to have a BBQ right?

I didn't get to the hamburgers fast enough, and they all got eaten before I could get there. Lots of swimming.

I think this girls loves herself some cupcake.

Debating on what to do with her hands. Ultimately she decided to eat it.

It was a great weekend with lots of fun friends. I love that we have a pool that everyone can enjoy.

How was your three day weekend?

August In Numbers

For those reading on Monday Happy Labor Day! I hope that you're relaxing and enjoying your day off, gotta love three day weekends! For those reading on Tuesday, I hope you had a relaxing three day weekend and are ready to tackle this short week. I wanted to link up with Deena for her numbers link-up.  So here ya go, my August in numbers.

18 - The number of allergy shots I got this week

2 - The number of hikes I went on this month

12 - The number of miles on those hikes

2200 - The number of miles I drove, minus the around town stuff, which probably adds up, but those are the significant miles I could count.

5 - The number of old high school friends I got to see at a baby shower. I'm so happy that we are still in contact and can help each other these huge life milestones.

7 - The number of days Mr. was at his school orientation. But he had a blast and brought the kids home a little friend.

35 - The number of selfies I took this month
That's not true, remember this picture?

Yea it took four locations and several different angles at each location...I wish I was joking.

106 - How many pictures I took for this one picture.

And with that I can't think of any other interesting things to write about, plus it's super late, and I'm ready for bed. Hope you have a great Labor Day!

Friday Favorites #41

I got these photos from Mr. on Monday while I was at the gym with Baby Fox.

He captioned this one "Mini Fox's crazy homeless princess look"

Cause every girl needs a scruffy cat, binoculars, blanket and car shoes.

We did a family trip to the allergy doctors, the kids wanted Daddy to read them a book.

She said she wanted to sit in a big girl chair, say what?! When did she get old enough to sit in a chair, no more high chair? How we kept her sitting there, threatened her every 6 seconds, if you get out of your chair you're going into the high chair (that was sitting right next to her).

I can't stop watching this cake decorating lady on Youtube, seriously. I want to try everything she does. She makes it look so easy, when I know for a fact that it is not. How fun is this cake? I'm going to attempt to make these and maybe these for Mini Fox's birthday party. I did a test run last night, let me tell you ladies, the learning curve is steep! But I'm just going to do it, at least it will taste good.

Baby Fox starts school tomorrow. His teacher dropped this off to us on Wednesday night. Which by the way I didn't realize that he was starting school today, and I thought that he was starting next Friday...so mentally I thought we had all next week to hang out while I took the week of. Now I'll just get some extra time with Mini Fox.

He ate the apple as soon as we said we were done taking pictures.

So excited about the Fall Hair Challenge, I'm getting ready with hair styles to do next week. And contemplating if I want to film it or not. So much more work, especially with having to get ready for Mini Fox's birthday party...

Even if you do one hair style link up with us and get some ideas from others!

Hair Challenge Announcement

Happy Thursday, one more day of work, woo hoo! So I can finally officially make the announcement that Vanessa and I are doing a hair challenge. We both decided that we're tired of our hair down/pony tail rut and that we were going to try to do our hair everyday for a week.  Enter the Hair Challenge:

Hey what do you think of the graphic, my first one really....it's hard being creative...Major props to Deena for constantly doing great graphics for all of the Style Me Bloggers soon to be The Blended Blog graphics.

I knew this was coming up, so I practiced the other week in preparation for this...I can do this!

I bought these*bobby pins and hair texture spray* (apparently they're pretty awesome according to this lady). I have used the hair texture once and OMG it's amazing. I have really straight and slippery hair, no hair styles stay on me, but using this spray gives my hair some texture so the hair style has something to grip to, it's amazing.

The only real problem that I see is that my hair is blackest of black, so it's going to be really hard to see it in pictures (see above), but I'll do my best to show you. I've contemplated taking video of me doing my hair...mess ups and all, what do think? Along with pictures of course.

Anyway, join us in this hair challenge, even if it's just one style, get out of your hair rut and get to styling! These are the ones I'm thinking of trying:

The Knotted Waterfall

The Crochet Braid

The Braided Halo

So join us on this hair challenge journey. Even if it's just one style, at least it's one day of non-boring hair. It's amazing how I felt so much more put together, with just putting my hair in a messy bun.

Now you have two weeks to try a few hair styles. I'm aiming for 5-7 (since I have next week off, going to try and wake up before the kids to do it). We're doing a link up on September 16th with any hair styles that you do, and of course if you do something #hairchallenge2015 on IG or Twitter so we can see all the awesome hair styles as you go! See you on IG/Twitter and on the 16th!

Perfect Outfits and an Epic Fight

Hello Wednesday, only two more days till the weekend! I can do this, Thursday and Friday always seem to pass faster once Wednesday rolls around. Every since I got this dress and that vest I've wanted to pair it together. I've seen others pair their vest and striped dressed and I thought, I can do that too. I really like the pop of color in my necklace. Such a comfortable summer outfit.

When Mr. and Baby Fox went to get my birthday decorations they also picked up some water balloons. He's been itching to use them ever since. The kids had a blast!

Waiting for Daddy to fill up the balloons.

Running from Daddy

Trying to get Daddy

Getting a picture of them both standing still at the same time, near impossible.

She was soaked and loved every single minute of it. I love random fun evenings after work. They make my heart happy. Then we ate a nice dinner and watched part of the old school Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I had forgotten how much I love that movie.

Any random happenings on this fine Wednesday in your neck of the woods?

Blogging is a Sisterhood

Was nominated by Katie from The Mishaps and Mayham of a Solitary Life. I've actually done this before, but it was 2.5 years ago, they were different questions with different answers, so I figured, why not, let's do this again.

She asked me some questions, and I'm answering.

How has blogging enhanced your life?

Blogging  has given me an outlet to be creative, I love DIY crafts (I am horrible at DIY decorating things), it's a way to share everything I like doing. It also makes me document everything, which is great, otherwise I would have a bunch of pictures (as in I have over 25,000 pictures of just the kids - I wish I was kidding) with no words to go with it, and I don't remember anything, so it's nice to document my kids growing up, the things they says, etc.
What's your favorite guilty pleasure show?

I love Pretty Little Liars, and am a sucker for Teen Mom, and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, I have no idea why they fascinate me so much. And pretty much any show on ABC Family. Currently watching Chasing Life, Switched at Birth and Young and Hungry. Anyone else?

What are you reading now?

I'm horrible and I am not currently reading anything. I do have several books on my nightstand that are waiting to be read. Actually I did start reading The Lies Locke Lamora (I believe it was Pinky that said this was a good read), but am only 40 pages in, so far it's a good read, I just haven't made time to read it. I used to read it at my allergy doctors office, but now that I take the kids it's hard to do.

Currently on my night stand and have yet to read.

What are three things you can't live without?

1) My family
2) Yummy Desserts that I can actually eat
3) Target

Morning Person or Night Owl?
Well that depends, I do get up at 4:30am everyday for work and that doesn't really bother me. I can go throughout the day and not need any coffee or caffeine to stay awake. and when I wake up I'm happy and talkative. I don't need an hour before I really "wake-up". But deep down I'm a night owl, I can stay up super late, even when I wake up at 4:30am, on Fridays I'm still up with Mr. till midnight or later. So I guess my answer is night owl.
What season do you think is easiest to dress for?
I absolutely adore Fall, around these parts, Fall can mean shorts and tank tops along, and then the next day can be leggings, tunic and boots.

Have you ever done anything that's taken you out of your comfort zone?  If so, what?
Sky Diving was definitely out of my comfort zone! I only did it because my Dad was so excited about it, and really wanted me to do it with him.

Where is your favorite place to visit?
I have so many places that are favorites. I loved Bora Bora, but I also loved traveling Europe (Italy, Switzerland). Actually last night Mr. and I were talking about going to Europe for a summer, and maybe making some small town in Italy a home base and then traveling around Europe. How fun would that be? Such good exposure for the kids. But obviously would have to do it when the kids were older and would remember.
What genre of music is your favorite and why?
It really depends on my mood, but for the most part I'm a Top 40 listener. But I do love classical music, specifically going to listen to it in person.  I could just sit and listen forever. I don't listen to it too often in the car, only because it relaxes me too much and I get sleepy. But when Baby Fox was little, it's all we listened to. We'd get in the car and he'd say Music Classic peeeas (please)!
What would your perfect day entail?

Andrea over at Momfessionals asked a similar question. She asked us what our "Ground Hog" day would be, mine was pretty simple. Spending the day with family, swimming and BBQing with friends in the afternoon. Although with our recent beach trip, maybe a beach trip in the morning with the family. You know get the kids nice and tired for bedtime. haha.

So now it's my turn to nominate some people.

Courtney from Sweet Turtle Soup
Whitney from Work It Mommy
Sarah from Coffe & Glitter
Alison from Puppies & Pretties
Becky from ByBMG

Your questions:

If you were on a deserted island what 3 things would you bring with you (family not included)?
If you could only eat 1 food what would it be?
If you could have a super power what would it be?
Who is someone you look up to and why?
If you could go back to any age, what would it be and why?
Favorite movie that you could watch over and over?
If you could learn to do anything, without it being hard, what would it be?
How would you spend a million dollars?
Do you have any strange talents?
Free question/answer, tell me something you want me to know :)

Deep questions, I know, hehe. Can't wait to read your answers!
