Friday Favorites #57

In case you missed it, this week I wrote about this:

Thursday: $10 Target Haul

Last week Katie from The Mishaps and Mayhem of a Solitary Life had asked her students what they thought love was. Click here for that funny yet true post. I decided to ask Baby Fox what he thought Love was. Here's our conversation:

Me: Baby Fox finish this sentence - Love Is...now fill in the blank.

Baby Fox: Love is a Mini Fox

Me: What does that Mean?

Baby Fox: I love my sister.

I died, they are so cute.

Loving Jasmine and all her covers. She's so talented, has a different raspy voice, unique to her and totally works!

Guess who got cleared to go back to the gym?!!! Me after my PT appointment, hair all gross, but I got to run and got the OK to go back to my classes and start running again! And I'm only having to go to PT every 2ish weeks, woo hoo!

Going back to the gym, means that this guy got to go rock climbing. At our gym you have to be 5 and since he turned 5 while I was on medical leave, the first chance he got we went...that was last night. He lasted 1.5 hours of rocking climbing, rock star!

First time on the ropes

After I was done working out, I went to get Mini Fox and we went to watch, this is where he was on the wall when we got there.

And this is how high he got! You can see Mr. way down there in the bottom right corner. Crazy right?

Of course I got a little video footage

I almost melted when I got these pictures, she's so darn cute!

Did you see those jams up there? Look familiar?

That's all I have, going to be a busy weekend, I told a friend I would make 60+ of my homemade Oreo Cookies, so I'll be baking up a storm and we have lots of plans with friends. Perfect for Mr. being gone for a few days, keeping us busy!

What you doing? Anything you're looking forward to?

$10 Target Haul...Okay it was $8, Oops!

Hello Foxy People! I try not to say Guys, but I feel like you're my friends, so I want to call you something other than guys...I like Foxy People, Foxy Ladies is good, but what if guys read the blog that's rude to them? I think it goes with the Foxy things around here...thoughts? It's okay to hate it, I won't be offended.

Okay back to the post, last month I saw that Becky, Beth, Courtney. Elizabeth, Rachel, Stephanie, Tif Whitney, and a different than the previous one, Whitney had all linked up what they got for just $10 at Target. I thought it was such a fun idea that I decided to do it too, and then they decided to make it a link up, fun!

I have to admit I sort of failed this go around, oops! I thought something was cheaper than it was...but it was not. So the three things I thought were $3 each did not work out. I had to get rid of the last thing I wanted, which made my purchases only totaled $8.64. Of course when I went to take a picture of my receipt, the one that I thought wasn't in the bag when I threw it away and then took out the trash...yea so it was in there and got thrown out, and I'm all for trash digging when money is to be found, but not so much for a receipt. So you'll have to trust me on the $8.64.

I ended up getting two things, a Love Garland

And a Magnetic Calendar for Baby Fox

Right when I got home, Baby Fox wanted to tear open the calendar, I made him wait so I could take these pictures, hehe. Blogger life.

Anyway, it was a great tool to use for writing his numbers and putting on the little magnets to show what holidays were coming up. He loved it.

Mini Fox wanted one too, oops, should have bought two, oh well. So she made one out of paper.

The finished products

For the wreath I had big plans to do their photo shoot for February with it...yea...not so much...an example. Expecting a 5 year old and 2 year old to hold a sign...what was I thinking? In theory super cute right? Now if only I could get it in focus, the letters straight, and them smiling at me...

Oh well, now it's hanging on our mantel until I get the St. Patrick's Day stuff out...which is 1 sign, perhaps this year I'll buy some more stuff. We cleared up some bins in the garage after giving away some toys...so that means more storage for decorations right?

What are some of your favorite things at Target, I would love to know if I'm missing out on anything!

Hair Challenge Link Up #7

Hello again. Another week gone by another week of hair styles. But first things first. Casey asked me to join in with her, Carrie and Whitney to be a part of their Create28 and come up with a "Simply Me" look. I'd love if you go check it out and give them some commenting love.

Now onto some hair styles.

Last Wednesday was Ash Wednesday and I did simple braid to go to church at 5am, had to be quick if you're going to church that early.

What do you think my ashes look like? I'm thinking humming bird, anyone else see it?

Friday at Legoland I did a simple on sided braid like this:

Not taken at Legoland. I tried to take one, but the picture came out pretty bad, there was a painting for a squid behind me and I cover most if it so it looked pretty bad, oops!

Saturday was pretty hot out, so I wore shorts and a blouse and did my hair super simple, just to get it off my face.

This one is easy, take two front sections of hair, tie in back, flip inside out a couple of times and it twists really pretty like this.

Sunday for church I decided to do Bubble Hawk I found on Cute Girls Hairstyles, I think it isn't something I would have tried in the past, but it was fun to wear all day.

Yesterday I wanted to try a different kind of water fall braid, so I did this one from Missy Sue. Not exactly how she had hers, but it was pretty close, and for the record this took me at least 5 tries to get it like this...I would have done it again, but I was just tired of try...so that's the best it was going to get.

When Mr. got home he said, I really like this one. Definitely doing this one again!

Did you try anything new this week?

Show and Tell Tuesday: Pinterest

Hello! Back linking up with Andrea again for Show and Tell Tuesday. This time we're showing a Pinterst Pin we've done lately good or bad. I was thinking about what would be useful around the house, that was a kid craft, when I remember the empty wreath on my front door. I actually took that ribbon off and was going to do something else...but then never did. So it's been sitting on my front door since January...plain, with nothing on it, oops. I thought today is the day I fix that! Since St. Patrick's Day is approaching next I thought I would do a St. Patty's Day wreath. I found this pin:

It is actually a listing for a wreath on Etsy for $60. I was like, hey I can make that, I already have the wreath part! So off to Hobby Lobby I went with the kids, they were so cute helping me pick stuff out at the store. Wish I had taken pictures. Anyway, here's where I started.

Then while trying to find some ribbon, I found a burlap ribbon and a white ribbon with some glittery Shamrocks on it. I asked the kids and they liked the burlap one, so that's what we got. Then when I was trying to find the bit Shamrock that was in the middle I found a sign that said "Lucky" on it. I did find a big shamrock but it was going to require me to paint it and the kids liked the "Lucky" sign better, phew, dodged that painting bullet. When I got home when I was trying to make the bow, I decided that since my "Lucky" sign was smaller than the wreath that it need something a little more so I laced some of the burlap ribbon through the wreath. Here's a quick video how I did that.

Then I made the bow, I thought a video is much easier than pictures, plus it's hard to take pictures of doing something when there isn't anyone to help out with hitting the shutter, a remote can only do so much if both hands are occupied, hehe.

Then I attached the sign and I had my St. Patricks Day wreath. I love it, and the best part of it is? I made it so I can take it all apart, save the parts for next year and add something different for the next holiday. Win in my book.

My cost break down:

Technically I already had the wreath, but I ended up buying more supplies for a Easter tutorial I'm going to do for The Blended Blog.

Wire Wreath - $3.99
3 30 foot burlap ribbon rolls - $4.99 each (on sale was $9.99)
Lucky Sign - $4.89 (on sale)
Shamrock Burlap Ribbon - $2.09 (on sale)
Floral Wire - $3.99

And the moment you've all been waiting for!

Funny that the door in the Pin is black too, but I think it turned out pretty great! Next time I might put some sort of ribbon behind it or something to make it stand out a little more. While it didn't turn out exactly like the pin, it gave me the inspiration to do what I did, so I think that counts right?

Valentine's Weekend

Happy Monday! I'm guessing that some of you have the day off. My work doesn't give us any days off from New Years to Memorial Day....fun times I know.

But the kids and I had a blast at Legoland with my cousin and her kids. I remembered to take some pictures of the hotel, so a review on that really is coming soon! We got there Thursday night about 5pm, and went down to the lobby to start building our Lego creation.

They were Team Cousin and the theme of the night was to create something you love, so they created a beach scene, they were so proud of it.

There is entertainment for the kids for about 3 hours, they eat it up and it gives the parents a little break.

Baby Fox got picked to be a part of the Magic show, he thought it was the coolest thing ever!

Mini Fox does not really sleep well with others, she talked and talked and finally went to sleep about 11:15 or so, and then my cousins kids woke up at 5:30am...I know right?! yep we were all up at that point. We didn't think the kids would make it half the day.

We went on lots of rides and had a ton of fun together.

Went to the Aquarium, so some fish and sharks.

Went on some more rides

And then this guy passed out at dinner...first time ever! I've never seen him actually fall asleep while doing an activity. It was the cutest thing ever.

We got home about 8pm, gave the kids a quick bath and then off to bed. For the record Mini Fox didn't fall asleep on the ride home (about an hour car ride).

I wanted to keep Saturday super low key, Baby Fox woke up a little after 9am and Mini Fox woke up about 9:20. We hung out around the house went to the park and then went to Hobby Lobby and the grocery store.

Excuse the mess in the background, they kids were having fun before we left for the park. They both wanted to ride their scooters.

Princess problems, your dress getting in the way and having to tie it up so it doesn't get caught in the wheels.

Catching some air on the slide.

After errands the kids ate lunch and then went down for a nap. Baby Fox took a 2 hour nap, and when he woke up wanted to play with his building set, but instead of building things, he set up land mines instead...he was showing me how to get around them.

When Mini Fox woke up after her 3 hour nap, we ate dinner and since Daddy is gone, they got a special treat of ice cream and chocolate.

Which eventually they drank from a straw and they thought was the coolest thing ever.

Happy Valentine's Day! Sunday was another low key day, Mr. is still out of town so this guy was my Valentine.

Church and donuts. He was mad at me for only giving him half a donut...so wasn't going to smile. haha.

They had the multipurpose room decorated super cute for Valentine's Day.

Then we hit up Target and came home for lunch and naps then went to my parents for dinner, all of which I didn't get any pictures of. But speaking of Target, Mr. sent me a picture of the view from his room and captured it "Your Dream Hotel". Haha he knows me too well. I think I've been to Target twice this week. I feel like I'm making up for lost time, when I couldn't drive for 7 weeks...

So that was our weekend. How was your weekend? How did you spend your Valentine's Day?
