Would You Rather: Beauty Edition

Cara from Kindly Unspoken did this tag last week and I thought it was so fun. Here I go.

Would You Rather…

Wear only one eyeshadow color or only one lip color for the rest of your life?

Oh this is a hard one...I think I like playing around with eyeshadows too much, so I'm going to go with lip color...I think I would search heaven and earth for my signature lip color and then and only then would I wear that everyday.

Live without makeup or without nail polish?

Definitely without nail polish. My newfound love for make up is too new and too great to give up now! :)

Have dark nails or bright nails year round?

I'm a dark nail gal through and through. My dad HATES it with a capital H. He prefers bright reds and pinks. But my jam is Dark...although I do wear brights in the Spring and Summer just so I don't get the side eye from people. My favorite dark color?

Lincoln Park at Dark* by OPI, it's a super dark purple almost looks black, but has a hint of purple and then when you're in the sun it's this super gorgeous dark purple shade.

*I did buy these with my own money, but linked products are affiliates and I will receive a small commission if you click on it. Thank you for your support!

Leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?

Hmmm...that's a tough one. I'm going to go with overdone blush and then go to the movies, hehe. I'm so vain. But definitely over done blush, seems more forgivable than foundation line?

Have no eyebrows or sharpie drawn-ones?

Geez, these are all tough, although I guess the game is called would you rather this horrible thing or this horrible thing. I'm going to go with no eyebrows, you can always give yourself bangs to hind the fact that you don't have eyebrows right?

Go out with messy hair/nice makeup or nice hair/no makeup?

Definitely nice hair no make. With my hair challenge lately, I do this everyday at work :)

Have a bad haircut or bad hair color?

Since I don't color my hair I guess my default answer is bad haircut...as a matter of fact I got a pretty bad one last year...blunt cuts...not my thang...I need layers lady!

Be able to buy only drugstore makeup or only high end makeup?

Okay I'm a snob and have super sensitive skin, so I'm going to go with high end make up. Not that drug store doesn't have stuff for sensitive skin but ever since I started wearing make up I have always gravitated towards people telling me what to do, and where do you get that? At counters that sell high end stuff...

Spend $1,000 on clothes or makeup?

Hand down without a doubt clothes! I could do some real damage at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale coming up after 4th of July! Heck last year I did some real damage on my own.

So that's it, how would you answer these questions? Answer one of them in the comments down below or if you have a blog answer there and let me know! I'd love to hear how you answer.

Style Perspectives: A Plaid Look and Hair Challenge Week 17!

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends. Yet another week of the Style Perspectives with The Blended Blog! I am loving seeing everyone style the prompts and meeting new people through the link up! Keep 'em coming!

This week Alison is up with a plaid look, go check out how she style her signature look.

Summer Plaid look

Now onto the hair, I found a thing that can twist your hair at Target, so I had to try it. This was the result.
I thought it was different, but I'm thinking my hair might be too long to use it. I was watching a youtube video and she made it look so easy...it wasn't. This took me a good 20 minutes.

Twisted Hair

In case you missed it, we all styled Deena's signature look with a good 'ol graphic tee. Here's the recap.

We're on week 17 of the hair challenge. I feel like each week I'm getting a little better. Monday I talked about my favorite products I use in my hair if you are interested.

I forgot to take a front shot of this hair style when I did the back, that's why it's so dark #bathroomlighting

This was the newest  hair tutorial from Cute Girls Hair Styles.

Pull Thru ponytail

This was the style I was trying to do in Vegas, but totally failed, but then ended up with that cool braided bun, so it all worked out in the end. But I finally conquered it, woo hoo!

Pull Through Braid

Sunday just felt like a high pony tail kind of of day.

High Pony Tail

Monday, my hair was a wreck and I tried to do a messy bun...but it really just didn't work. I seriously have not conquered that stupid hair style. Everyone always makes it look so darn easy! It's not...I repeat it is not easy!

Nor is it easy to take a pictures of said bun with black hair...

This was like picture number 10, and I just started making faces because they all looked dumb. See I even showed you the dumb pictures I took, and you can't even see the hair.

That's it for this week! Did you do anything fun with your hair this week?

Next weeks prompt is: Leggings and a scarf! Start thinking of your outfits!
Now go check out how the other ladies styled their Plaid look.

What's Up Tuesday...Wednesday...I'm Confused

Hi Foxy Friends! Today I finally remembered to link up with  Shay, Mel and Sheaffer for What's up Wednesday...on Tuesday, cause tomorrow is our Style Perspectives Link Up, we are styling a plaid look, so get your outfits ready for tomorrow!

What we're eating this week:

Well Mr. is out of town so I think we're going to take out one night and then I'm going to make some tacos, yum! But last weekend, oh my goodness had the best meal of my life at Table 10 in Vegas, seriously you have to go there for dinner! Take a look at Carrie's post for the details on what we ate.

But I've been going through a salad and fruit kick for lunch lately.

And guess what? I had my very first bagel and cream cheese in 8 years...thank you Deena for the delicious Saskatoon Berry Jam!

What I'm reminiscing about:

I know this is too much Vegas talk, but missing these ladies! I think it really brought us closer as a group, even those that weren't there, I think The Blended Blog is doing great things!

What I'm loving:

All the shopping that got done last weekend.

These kids, they are just the cutest! We had Mini Fox in the Ergo but Baby Fox really wanted in it...he's so darn big!

Swimming, I can't wait for the summer to really hit and the pool to be a lot warmer! I'm a wimp when it comes to cold water.

The kids warming themselves on the pavers, remember doing that as a kid? It's like a right of passage...

What we've been up to:

See above, swimming!

We celebrated my dad's birthday last week, and we light and blew out the candles at least 3 times :)

What I'm dreading:

Not really dreading anything, other than Baby Fox is starting Kindergarten in the Fall! It is just around the corner, I can't believe he's going to be going to school 5 days a week and have homework. Crazy...where is this little boy?

What I'm working on:

Working out more...I've gotten a little lazy and now that I've added new foods to my diet, I have no self control...not eating stuff for 8 years will do that to someone...need to get it under control!

What I'm excited about:

Sunday going to see these guys! I'm so super excited!

What I'm watching/reading:

Watching Songs of Anarchy...loving it! Read 10 things I Learned from Sons of Anarchy.

What I'm listening to:

I hate to admit it, but I'm loving this song and it's on repeat...shhhh, don't tell anyone.

What I'm wearing:

Participating in The Blended Blog Style Perspectives and we have a great series coming up for you in June called Create 28, yep that's right Carrie and Whitney have passed on their baby to The Blended Blog. Stay tuned for that.

What I'm doing this weekend:

Going to see Pentatonix on a double date! I don't think Mr. and I have actually been on a double date before. But looking forward to a good concert and some great food with great friends.

What I'm looking forward to next month:

My Mother-In-Law visiting, the kids just adore her and I love that she's been visiting us more often!

What else is new:

I think I pretty much covered it. While in Vegas with the ladies we did a lot of The Blended Blog talk and we have some really exciting series coming up. More to be announced later! Be excited, very excited!

Let's Talk: Hair and Make-Up

Linking up with Andrea and Erika for Let's Talk. Today's topic is hair and make-up. Both things that I love! Where to start, where to start...

Well I guess I should start with my hair. I'm in week 17 of my hair challenge. In case you missed it, I decided last year that I always wore my hair down or a ponytail so I set out at the beginning of the year to change that. I don't necessarily do my hair every single day, but I try to do a new style or two a week. Click here for all of hair styles so far. Here's a quick recap on some of my favorites.

I can't tell you how many hair YouTube videos I've watched. Here's my collection of hair styles I've done, and here's the ones I want to do. Do you have any you want me to try out? I'm always looking for new videos.
Back in week 5, I bought a bunch of hair products that I wanted to try out. So after 11 weeks, I've narrowed it down to my absolute favorite product, one that I use on almost every hair style and the one that I had never heard of before. Hair Wax...Specifically the Dry Hair Wax*, it goes on like a hair spray but it's sticky and gets rid of the fly aways. It's pretty amazing stuff! Seriously, you need to get some, your hair will turn out so much better when you start using it.
Hair Wax is the second from the left
Another product that I use a lot is Amika Un-Done Texture Spray*, I use this a lot when I have freshly clean hair. Seriously it gives your hair that dirt that you need to do a good hair style. This would also be a good product to use if you have fine hair and need some volume, just lift hair and spray and gives you volume, it's like magic.
I also love the Amika Dry Shampoo*. Before I started this challenge I was having to wash my hair every other day before it got too greasy. It took a while, but I've finally gotten to the point where I can go 4-5 days between washes, thanks to this dry shampoo. If you want tips on how I go more day between washing, let me know down below!

Oh and we can't forget the bobby pins I use. The drugstore ones just don't cut it. Kate from Small Things Blog said she uses these, and I found them to be perfect as well. Click here for the black ones and here for the bronze ones.

As far as make-up goes, I don't have anything ground breaking.  I love my Urban Decay Make-Up Naked* and Smokey* palettes. They have great coverage and stay on all day.

I just discovered the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit*, it's amazing, while I'm still discovering it, the few things that I do know how to do, are pretty awesome. One thing that I learned is I run my blush brush across all of the colors on the bottom row to create a darker blush. I really like the way it comes out for evening events and things where I want to be a bit more dramatic.

Here's how it comes out.

So what are your favorite hair and make up products?
