Style Perspectives: A Plaid Look and Hair Challenge Week 17!

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends. Yet another week of the Style Perspectives with The Blended Blog! I am loving seeing everyone style the prompts and meeting new people through the link up! Keep 'em coming!

This week Alison is up with a plaid look, go check out how she style her signature look.

Summer Plaid look

Now onto the hair, I found a thing that can twist your hair at Target, so I had to try it. This was the result.
I thought it was different, but I'm thinking my hair might be too long to use it. I was watching a youtube video and she made it look so easy...it wasn't. This took me a good 20 minutes.

Twisted Hair

In case you missed it, we all styled Deena's signature look with a good 'ol graphic tee. Here's the recap.

We're on week 17 of the hair challenge. I feel like each week I'm getting a little better. Monday I talked about my favorite products I use in my hair if you are interested.

I forgot to take a front shot of this hair style when I did the back, that's why it's so dark #bathroomlighting

This was the newest  hair tutorial from Cute Girls Hair Styles.

Pull Thru ponytail

This was the style I was trying to do in Vegas, but totally failed, but then ended up with that cool braided bun, so it all worked out in the end. But I finally conquered it, woo hoo!

Pull Through Braid

Sunday just felt like a high pony tail kind of of day.

High Pony Tail

Monday, my hair was a wreck and I tried to do a messy bun...but it really just didn't work. I seriously have not conquered that stupid hair style. Everyone always makes it look so darn easy! It's not...I repeat it is not easy!

Nor is it easy to take a pictures of said bun with black hair...

This was like picture number 10, and I just started making faces because they all looked dumb. See I even showed you the dumb pictures I took, and you can't even see the hair.

That's it for this week! Did you do anything fun with your hair this week?

Next weeks prompt is: Leggings and a scarf! Start thinking of your outfits!
Now go check out how the other ladies styled their Plaid look.

Style Perspectives: T-shirt, Jeans, Statement Necklace and Hair Challenge Week 15

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends. Yet another week of the Style Perspectives with The Blended Blog! I am loving seeing everyone style the prompts and meeting new people through the link up! Keep 'em coming!

Christy's style prompt was a Jeans, Tee, Cardi and a statement necklace...so sounds like her! She has some great jewelry. I bought this sweater at Target when it was on clearance...I thought hey it's a bright orange sweater, why not? I have not worn it since...but you know what? For the sake of the wear everything in my closet challenge I decided to just try it on for these pictures. Expecting to totally hate it. But the opposite happened, I totally loved it and I'm actually wearing it today (I took these pictures over the weekend) to work. That's saying something.

As for my hair, I did this Stacked Fish tail + Dutch Braid.

I think it turned out great!

In case you missed it last week, everyone styled a Spring Sweater, Jeans and Flats. This is how everyone styled it.

Now to the hair challenge week 15! So I was super lazy last week and only did my hair on the weekend...I know, lazy me.

Monday I just threw my hair up in a simple rubber band, something I've actually never done before...so that counts right?

Saturday I was trying out my new hair twisty thing (full review coming soon), and got this hair style.

So cute right?

Sunday we were off to the flower fields and I tried this style. I think it turned out pretty good, although I need to get the ponytail a little more behind my back, so it doesn't do that mushroom head thing.

And maybe try a few more rubber bands as well. Next time.

Tuesday I had clean hair which mean no fancy braids (too hard to style when freshly washed), so I did  a simple twist.

Now go check out how everyone else styled their look!

Fall Challenge - Final Outfits

Last week of Alison's Style Challenge* 5 more outfits coming at ya. I got a lot of good ideas from this round of the style challenge. Happy that I decided to participate in it, I wasn't going to, but I couldn't resist! So let's get to it.

Day 17

This outfit called for a grey cable sweater over the whole thing, but I don't have one and it's WAY too hot to wear one, even during the winter months here, so I added a leopard belt to tie it together.

Day 18

This outfit called for an orange sweater and I remembered that I had an orange-ish cardigan, so I opted to put a white tank under it with my oversized plaid scarf. I tried to wear it two ways, which do you like best? I think I like it the first way better, with the little triangle.

Day 19

This outfit called for a printed blouse, so I used my polka dot one and then added this cute cardigan. I think I added the cardigan because without the outfit looked pretty boring.

 Day 20

My favorite dress*! Styled yet another way...I think this might be my favorite outfit of the whole Fall Challenge. Loving the big belt and the boots, now come on weather get cold so I can wear this!

Day 21

I bought this jacket last season on mega-sale at Target...I haven't worn it yet, but I'm loving this jacket with the pants. Such a great combo! I think it would have looked better with some leopard wedges instead, but it was still a very comfy, put together outfit.

Sorry all the pictures are a bit blurry, I don't know what happened, they all seemed to be in focus when I took the pictures...I really hate when that happens, don't you? Boo! Did you participate in the Fall Challenge? What was your favorite outfit that you wore?

Fall Challenge - Week 2

Hello all! 2nd week of the Style Challenge*, and I'm back with 7 more outfits. Well 5 plus 2 outfits that I would have worn had I had the chance. So let's get to it. Here are the outfits at a glance.

Let's break it down:

Day 3

I'm absolutely loving this outfit, but it's just a bit too hot to wear right now, but hey a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, outfits must be put together! I actually followed the outfit formula, unlike Day 1 and 2.  But I will definitely be pulling this one out come colder weather.

Day 4

Love this outfit too! Can we talk about these jeans? I got them during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, so they are no longer available but these* and these* are very similar. They are the most comfortable jeans! They don't pinch at the waist and are the softest jean material ever! I would wear them everyday if that was socially acceptable. I would however, order a size down. I ordered my size and a few hours later I'm finding that I'm hiking up my jeans.

I only have two blazer, one is black and the other one is bright blue, but neither one really worked with this outfit, so I decided to switch it up to my pink leather jacket that I got from Wilson's Leather at the Camarillo Outlet Mall a few years ago. If you can go to a Wilson's Leather at an outlet great deals! I think I bought this jacket for $40!

This little lady wanted to jump in the picture...okay that's a lie she was trying to photo bomb and I scooped her up and tried to get her to take a picture with me. I have a feeling this is what our family photos are going to be like in a couple of weeks, lots of bribery!

Day 5

Loving this* white button down that I bought. Seriously if you have been looking for a white button down look no further! This shirt is worth every single penny, it's a little more than I would normally spend, but it's so soft and doesn't feel still like other buttons downs. I actually want to wear this, instead of just wearing something just to wear it.

I didn't follow the outfit formula again. I don't have a gray cable knit sweater yet, not sure if I am going to get one since I would probably rarely wear it over this white shirt, too hot! But that could be the 100° weather talking, come back in a few months.

So instead of adding the sweater over it, I just added this scarf. I really love the plaid in this scarf, and for the life of me can't remember where I got it.

Day 6

I ordered some olive jeans* (super comfy and on sale for $24.99! The olive color in person is much darker than online), but they hadn't come in the mail yet, so I subbed out for my Camo Jeans. Loving this outfit and will definitely repeat as it gets colder. If you don't have a pair of wedge booties, you have to get a pair! These were from Target a while back and were really reasonable. One day I'll buy the Toms version, but for now, my knockoffs will do.

Day 7

I absolutely love this plaid dress*. When Alison told us a plaid dress would be involved I wasn't sure if I was going to get one. I know that I'm not a red plaid dress girl, but found this black and white one and it's right up my ally.

Not totally sure if I can get away with the length, definitely not with the kids around, but for sure a great night out with the girls or the hubby.

Day 8

This is when I didn't have time to take pictures with the outfits on. So I put together a picture of what I would have worn. I'm actually surprised, I'm not sure I would have paired the olive jeans with that polka dot sweat, but I think it looks great! Apparently the olive jeans like to photograph a little lighter than they are in person, or maybe I need to get my eyes checked, either way this outfit looks great!

In case you were wondering, the outfit formula called for an orange sweater, which I don't have, I've been subbing in this polka dot one and it seems to be working with all of the outfit choices so far.

Day 9

Again I didn't have time to take a photo of this outfit, but I am LOVING my new burgundy jeans (which of course they don't have in stock any more), they are super soft and I can't wait to wear them.

I did sub out the riding boots for these flats, since most likely I wouldn't have worn my riding boots with them. I'm not sure why, but in my head it just didn't make sense. The outfit calls for the grey cable sweater over it, to me that makes more sense to wear the riding boots, but with just the button down, I didn't think so.

There you have it, 7 more outfits brought to you by Alison! Which was your favorite?
