Style Perspectives: A blazer and Sneakers and Hair Challenge Week 19

Today we're styling Carrie's prompt: A Blazer, Jeans, Tank and sneakers. When I read this prompt, I was like, huh? Blazers and sneakers?  What is going on? But you know what, I did what Carrie told me to do and I liked it! I got these Converse while in Vegas, actually Deena bought the same pair...because when you're outlet shopping and they have a buy one get one 50% off you find your closest friend...I was more than happy to help out.

Okay back to the outfit. Most of my blazers are darker colors. I do have this one bright blue blazer that I have yet to wear...need to figure out an outfit, I just know it's going to be super cute if/when I figure out how to wear it...Loft sales, you get me every time! Back to the topic...I knew I wanted to use my new pink converse, so I based my outfit around that. Do any of you do that? Decide you want to wear a certain thing and then plan your whole outfit around that. Well that's what I did...I think it worked out pretty well. And it was super comfy, great outfit for a casual date night!

I just love these shoes! Apparently I need to figure out how to cutely model shoes...this is pathetic.

Purple Converse

And here is my hair shots. I really liked wearing my hair like this. Super fun and something a little more fancy than just a plain ponytail, but still felt casual.

*I did buy these with my own money, but linked products are affiliates and I will receive a small commission if you click on it. Thank you for your support!

In case you missed it, last week was Leggings and a Scarf look by Katie. Here is how everyone styled it, I know for many it was going out of their comfort zone, but I like that everyone tried something new for them. This is what it's all about, trying things you wouldn't normally try.
Onto some hair things. Guess what? Since I was such a failure last week, I upped my game and actually did my hair this week! Okay well I did my hair the same twice...but I still count it. The second time I did the hair style it got better, so I'm counting it. I've seen the small top knot around and thought it was super cute, and Ellie did a video on it, and thought, hey that is pretty easy, so the very next day, small cute top knot it was.

Top Knot

Thursday I just wanted to my hair out of my face, and I love braids, so I braided it in a half crown type thing.

Friday we were off to Disneyland and I just didn't want it all up, so I braided it and tied it back. I love doing this style so much, easy and looks put together. I would like to add, this is after a full day at Disneyland, I forgot to take a picture before we left...so this is after 10 hours...it's a little messy, and I look massively tired.

I thought the top knot was cute, so cute that I did it again on Saturday. It was the perfect style for a 1 year old birthday party. But the second time I did it, I actually tied it with a hair tie for before starting the bun, I thought it came out way better, and not as fluffy. Again I forgot to take a picture before leaving for the day...so 12 hours later and this is what you get.

Sorry for the poor lighting.

Sunday, for Mother's Day I wanted a soft romantic type look, so I did some twists and made it a half crown, sort of like this.

So there you have it, not failing at this hair thing this week. We'll see how I do this coming week...I'm feeling pretty lazy. And I really need a hair cut...like bad! I just can't seem to find the time to actually get one done! Now go check out how every else styled this weeks prompt!

Show and Tell Tuesday: Personal Style

Hello Foxy Friends! Back linking up with Andrea again for Show and Tell Tuesday. Unlike last time...when I misread the prompt and actually DID a pinterest...this time I think I've got it right...maybe...probably...

This time we're supposed to talk about "Our Personal Style", funny because over on The Blended Blog we're doing a series called Style Perspectives where each of the contributors picked their signature style and then the rest of us had to dress that prompt. It's been super fun to see how many different outfits can come out of one prompt. My prompt was White Pants, cause who doesn't love white pants? I know they can be intimidating, but really they go with anything and everything! Just carry a stain stick around and you're good to go.

I styled it 4 different ways:

Casual Look // Fancy Look // A Summer Look // All White Look

One of the prompts that I loved the most? Shaunacey's Bright Pants look. This short sleeved jacket was the very first consignment purchase I've ever made, at the time I just loved it, but had no idea how to wear it! Several years later...I finally styled it! Took me long enough right?

I've repeated this jacket several times since then. Once when The Blended Blog went to Vegas. Surprisingly it keeps you pretty warm. I"m sad that it's staring to fall apart, so not sure how many more uses I'm going to get out of it...boo!

But I think my favorite "Mom" look is pants/shorts, t-shirt, statment necklace of some sort. It's easy, I can throw it on quickly and be out the door in minutes.

And you can't forget a fun hairstyle! I started the Hair Challenge 2016 this year, and have no regretted it one bit. Yes it takes me a bit longer to get ready but having your hair done just makes you feel a little better about everything in general :)

For those that are intimidated by hair, I put together an easy way that I French Braid. After watching many youtube Videos, I see that I don't necessarily braid like everyone else does, so I tried to record how I do it, hopefully it makes sense! Take a look and tell me what you think.

What is your personal Style? What are must haves in your closet that maybe I have to go buy...right now :)

Friday Favorites #68 - The One with Pentatonix

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! It's Friday, woo hoo! I have the day off, I wanted to take Baby Fox to Disneyland, but not sure if it's going to rain, so it's up in the air...poor guy, I already promised him...we'll see what happens. If not this week, then I'm going to take half day next week, so he's not totally disappointed. Anyway, onto my favorites this week!

In case you missed it on the blog this week!

Last Sunday, Mr. and I went on a double date with some good friends to dinner and a concert. The concert you ask? Pentatonix! Have you heard of them? Well if you've been living under a rock...they're an acapella group, who is so amazing, you're just standing there blown away by their talent. Seriously. See video below:

The concert started at 7:30, and we left our house at 3:30 (you just never know with LA traffic), and turns out Sunday traffic isn't too bad, we got there in a little over an hour and had the BEST dinner at Yard House. We sat there for 2.5 hours eating, laughing, talking....with NO children, I repeat, NO Children! It was glorious. We all said after dinner, wow that was amazing and the best part of the night hadn't even started yet! Didn't take any food pictures...was too busy stuffing my face.

Yerd House Near Staple Center

The great thing about the Microsoft Theater is there are so many great restaurants surrounding it. We walked out of Yard House, turned left and walked about 20 yards and there was the entrance to the Mircrosoft theater...and Staple Center, they have really made it a great place to be!

We got great seats as well!

Of course there were lots of selfies before the show.

The opening act. The first act wasn't anything to write home about, but the second one...amazing! They're called Us the Duo, they are a married couple who were trying to make it on their own but then realized that if they combined forces they could do so much more. They actually started on Vine
and recorded John Legends All of Me first, they now have 5 Million subscribers on Vine...crazy right?

Definitely made a fan out of me, they are a married couple and are just the cutest thing ever. Click here to see an interview with them on how they met, got started as Us the Duo, and more.  Here's some video from the concert of them. Now off to go buy everything they have!

How cute are they?

We were already on a high from Us the Duo and then out comes Pentatonix...like 30 minutes later...hehe. It was a sold out show, so there were a lot of people in that theater...we actually ended up with pretty good seats, not sure how that happened. Anyway.

The concert was amazing! I'll let these clips I put together speak for themselves...

One of my favorite things was when Kevin was on his cello and started to beat box, and then the group did a number with the cello was just adds another dimension that I love.

They even pulled up fans from the audience to sing with them, I'm fairly certain the girl sitting to the right (our right) of Scott was the daughter of the two guys in front of us, they were so excited and filmed the whole thing.

Overall it was one of the best nights, we got away with friends, had a leisure 2.5 dinner followed by the most amazing concert! Hope to have some more of these fun dates in the future!

How To French Braid Your Own Hair Tutorial

Hello Foxy Friends!

I thought since I am on week 19 of the hair challenge and so many of you said you didn't even know how to french braid your hair that I would show you how I French braid my own hair. I think my style is different than any other tutorials out there! I hope it makes sense and if you have any questions just let me know! Good luck, I know you can do it!

French Braid My Hair

Of course it's way easier in a video format, so here you go!

My main advice is to practice, practice, practice. Once you learn the steps, start practicing on the couch when you're watching tv at night. I would sit in my bed after my parents put me in bed and practice. I think it took me as an 8 year old an evening or two to learn how to French braid my own hair. If I can do it as an 8 year old, you can do it too! Don't get frustrated, you got this!

Let me know how it works out for you!

P.S. Also if you go to around 3:20 in the video, I get in a better grove and you can really see how to French Braid, before that is a lot of talk and starting the French Braid.
