Show and Tell: About Your Home

Hello Foxy Friends! I realize that I have a few new followers so I thought I would follow Andrea's prompt and give you a small tour of my home. I've done a lot of these posts showing you what we've done, but here's a quick recap.

This is what our house looked like when we bought it...crazy right? It was a short sale and we got lucky! Here is my advise on buying a short sale, or just buying a house in general and here is my advise on what to do AFTER you buy a house! So here is the house we bought in all of it's glory.

First order of business was to paint the outside and get the jungle they called a back yard in order.

Much better....

Next up was the backyard, there was so much stuff back there that they had three full truck loads of trimmings...crazy right? Click here for the full details.

Ahhh, much better!

But then we lived there for a couple of years and decided that we wanted to renovate the backyard. The pool plaster was falling apart, it was a mess. Click here for the full renovation pictures.

In case you're wondering we decided to fence in the sliding glass door instead of surrounding the pool.

Next we had to paint every single wall, baseboard and door frame in the house. We got a quote to have it done and nearly choked, so we set out to do it ourselves....so if you need any tips on painting, I'm your gal. I have perfected the art of cutting into a wall and ceiling and covering up nail holes in baseboards. So much so that when our window guy came to do a final inspection, he asked who did the painting because it was so good. My advice, use REALLY good paint. It's like when you're painting your nails, if you use the cheap stuff it clumps and clots and doesn't flow, but the nicer stuff tends to hide your mistakes a bit more...same goes with wall paint.

From one one spot in our house we could see, Light Purple, Dark Purple, Blue, Brown, Red, Orange and Green...yep those were wall colors.

From the same spot if you turned to the right you would see this:

Yep lots of coloring happening here. It took a bazillion gallons of primer and paint, let's just say we ended up having to paint every single wall 4 times, 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint.

So we started painting and painting. Knowing we needed new carpet upstairs meant that we couldn't do that until all that painting was done, and we needed new stairs and couldn't get the carpet until that was done as well...so down the rabbit hole we fell.

But here I am standing in that same spot taking a picture of the new stairs...such a huge difference right? Click here for all of the remodeling pictures of the stairs.

Our master bedroom was light purple and dark purple...I wish I was kidding.

But in the end it turned out great, click here for that transformation. Real life, we have a slide and a small house in our bedroom...can't wait for the kids to outgrow it so we can get our bedroom back!

And then came the master bathroom, what a mess it was! Wall paper that wouldn't come off and a bathtub that wasn't deep enough to go to my waist while sitting.

Attempting to take down the wallpaper, that small amount probably took us a good 10 hours.

The clawfoot tub is my favorite, those cheapo drapes not so much, but one project at at time, and since it works, why fix it before fixing other things right? Click here for the master bathroom renovation. And if you want to take a peak inside my closet, click here.

And then the kids rooms. Click here for more pictures of Baby Fox's room.

And of course Mini Fox's room

Then there is Mr.'s room that he wanted to have a really big TV in...and of course he's wanting it to be bigger...we finally got cable the day before the Super Bowl, exciting times. Click here for that renovation.

I attempted to hide the stuff that was on top of the table below the table, but I clearly failed, since you can still see all the kids toys down there, opps! We do try to keep this space mostly kid free.

That's Mr.'s office area back there, did I tell you guys he writes music? That's his "studio" back there, he has all the equipment that he needs to write the songs, record and edit back there.

The last room is the guest room, which we lived in for the first 5 months we lived here while we painted everything. Mostly it holds all of my scrapbooking supplies and a bed. Appraently I have no pictures of that room...woops. I do have some before pictures though, so click here. A full post for another day...perhaps it will make me clean out said scrapbooking closet.

And apparently I have no pictures of the kitchen/family room. Why I have no idea. Well in this pictures I'm standing in the kitchen looking into the family room/toy room/a tornado hit it.

And that's it for this house tour! I'd love to see your houses too! I definitely need some help in the decorating department...we spent so much time take the holes out of the walls that it is hard to put them back and do it right, it's only been 7 years and I still don't have anything on the walls...one day that will change, one day.

$10 Target Haul: July Edition

Back linking up with Becky, Beth, Courtney. Elizabeth, Rachel, Stephanie, Tif  and Whitney to show what we got for just $10 at Target.

This month, for whatever reason, I found it hard to get myself over to Target. I finally found myself there last week and saw these tank tops and knew they had to be mine, click this for here* for colored tanks and  here* for black and white tanks. They were on mega sale, a price that I've never seen before, 2 for $10. I knew buying these would make me go over, but hey I couldn't really find anything else that I wanted! Plus I can't find my other white tank that I bought, and I needed to replace it.

All together I paid $10.80. Of course I can't find the receipt, but trust me when I say that's what it was. I figure I only spent $8.51 last month, I had a few extra to spend this month :)

What did you find at Target for $10?

Friday Favorites #78

Hi Foxy Friends! It's Friday! Woo hoo! I have today off, off to the dentist and then help my cousin's husband with some party prep for my cousin's birthday...big 4-0.  So excited to get an evening away from the kids and have some adult conversation.

In case you missed it on the blog this week:

Monday: 10 on 10

I went to Target and found my favorite tanks on sale, in store they were 2 for $10, online it seems that they are $6.30, either way super good deal and they are perfect for layering under shirts and sweaters! For whatever reason on the website the color tanks* are in one place and the black and white* are in another.

Favorite Tank Top

*I did buy these with my own money, but linked products are affiliates and I will receive a small commission if you click on it. Thank you for your support!

The other day I went shopping with the little and we found such a great deal on these...that I stacked it up...troubles of shopping with Mommy. But she insisted on holding them all...

This girl...Diva in the making, who am I kidding she is already a diva, although totally rough and tough when need be. I cannot wait to get her into some dance classes, going to be the cutest thing EVER!

Swimming after work is the best. Now that Mini Fox is done with her swim lessons we've moved on to just swimming in the pool and having her practice with us.

Baby Fox was playing hair salon, washing everyone's hair. Daddy up first.

Then sister.

These kids are just the cutest, they want to do everything together. First Baby Fox set up this little movie lounge area.

Then sister wanted to get in on the action.

P.S. Every night they decide which of the three jammies I bought them they are going to wear, matching everyday for a week, swoon.

P.S.S. Baby Fox needs a hair cut something bad...preschool graduation next week, better make an appointment before then!

Of course some videos I have been loving.

I haven't jumped on the whole Pokémon bandwagon yet, but I have friends that are obsessed and it's a frequent topic at work this week. I thought this video was so funny.

And then of course there is the parody, you knew that was going to happen, just wished I had thought it up! For all you Mama's out there!

What are you doing this weekend? Looking forward to anything?

Picture Perfect Project: July

Hello Foxy Friends! I'm back linking up with  WhitneyCourtneyBeth  and  Elizabeth,  Stephanie  and  Desiree for another month of The Picture Perfect Project. Click here for the previous months. So this month wasn't as successful. Darn. I thought I got a good one, but then when I got home, no pictures had the kids with both of their eyes open at the same time. Darn. Oh well, I still think they are cute...I tried to photomerge and do some photoshop stuff, but I'm not good enough for that. Photoshop kept distorting the picture so Baby Fox kept looking like an alien. Anyway, I'll post what I got anyway...but I'm thinking I might have to find a different photo for the yearly family calendar.

Perhaps I'll use one of these photos...they're fun.

Or scrap everything and do another photo all together. What to do what to do? Thoughts?

Pick, Pair, Share and Hair Challenge Week 28

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! Another Wednesday here and another week of Pick, Pair, Share. Have you been participating at all? I hope this has helped you get ready in the morning to come up with some fun creative summer outfits! Here's the prompt in case you missed it.

This week I decided to do create a fun date night outfit using the prompts. Picked the light pink, with a leopard pattern and I'm featuring a skirt. Of course what other skirt would I pick than my tulle skirt? My most favorite date night skirt...maybe ever in the history of the world...

This time I took a rocker ballerina look, is that possible? I'm not sure, but that's how I felt when wearing it, so we'll go with it.

I just love these leopard shoes, they are super comfortable (as comfortable as heels get), and it just adds a little something to the outfit.

I just love how delicate the necklace is with this outfit.

Of course onto the hair, I tried this hair style. It was a box fishtail braid...hard to do on myself, but I think it turned out pretty good. Would love to try it on someone else's hair...any takers?

As far as hair styles goes this week, I was pretty darn lazy I was sick for most of the week, so that makes it hard to want to do anything creative. I did the same half top knot twice and then I did my half braid tucked into the back of my hair...so nothing new to report. Darn, maybe I'll get ambitious again this weekend. Anyway, I was channeling my inner ballerina and trying to twirl while smiling and using a remote control to take the pictures...and well they all turned out horrible. Of course I'm sharing the least offensive one with you. P.S. I was not meant to be a ballerina...I have horrible balance.

If you could chose, what prompts would you pick? Use #theblendedblogstyle to show us what you picked!

10 on 10: July Edition

Linking up with Rebekah for 10 on 10, where you take 10 pictures on the 10th of the month to showcase your day. Although I don't think they're suppose to have words, but I'm wordy like that...and I figure you would want to know what the picture was...cause I know I would if I was reading. Anyways, here you go.

I got to sleep in and then go to the grocery store instead of waking up early to go...and no kids tagged along...

Lunch time for the littles. I barely got them to eat this...so I consider this a win even though it's mostly fruit and cheese.

Mr. and I decided to start the 21 day fix...man food prep is no joke, I was in the kitchen for 6 hours food prepping... Egg, spinach, mushroom, feta egg cups.

Littles are napping so Mr. and I sit outside and eat some 21 day fix approved lunch. Yum!

Baby Fox is up so he writes out his thank  you cards...slow going but we're finally done!

Time for my 30 minute workout!

Off to the park to give Mr. some quiet time to study, the older one didn't want to sit for a picture.

Daddy promised swimming when they got home....

Such a nice evening out, and the kitchen is hot with the oven being on all day.

Bedtime! Matching jammies are their favorite.

Okay so this one makes it 11,but it goes with the previous one, so I'm counting each as half.

This is the first time I have participated in this and I really liked it, it forced me to take some pictures of the day even though we weren't doing anything. Will definitely do this again.
