$10 Target Haul: June Edition

Hello Foxy Friends. I had a nice long weekend, full of friends and good times. Baby Fox finished Kindergarten on Friday and we couldn't be more proud of him. Today, I'm joining a bunch of awesome ladies for our $10 Target Haul! I do have a full confession to make, but will make it a bit later. Let's first get onto catching the BEST day ever at Target. Seriously, I never catch it when the just put out the fresh stock...but today was our lucky day. This whole thing on all sides was full of 4th of July things.

I had decorated for Spring, which I don't think I ever took a picture of it for you. Oh well. I decided since 4th of July is at the beginning of the month I was going to make the most of it and make it last from Memorial Day through 4th of July. Cause why not? Mini Fox went with me and let me tell you how hard it was for me to say not to this adorable hat on Mini Fox. I die it's so cute on her...but alas, I knew she wouldn't really wear it and I didn't really want it, so back on the shelf it went.

Then we came across these, so I texted my cousin to see if she wanted them. She did so I bought 5 of them for her. We do a pretty big 4th of July celebration with my family, so she was stocking up for the party. For $1 for 6, such a great deal.

Then I thought, this would be pretty awesome, pre kids...haha. And it was a little over our price range, but not too much, so I thought I could get away with it, hehe.

Finally we settled on this.

Okay here is where my confession comes in. Yes I bought this, and yes each thing was $3, but I needed to fill up a whole mantel worth of stuff, so this just wasn't going to cut it...so I bought some more stuff. Here is my whole mantel, all done with $3 Target bin stuff.

I definitely cheated this time around, but you know what I don't regret it at all. Perhaps next month I'll actually stick to the budget. I could have totally lied, but I really wanted to show you how it turned out, hehe. Does that ever happen to you? You go in thinking you're going to just get this, and then walk out with a whole mantel full of stuff? This happened again a few weeks before this, when I walked into Hobby Lobby and found all this cute Summer stuff I could use on the mantel...so I have everything all set to go for the summer mantel after this. Stay tuned for that, don't worry I won't pretend it was only $10, because heaven knows it wasn't anything close to that. Note to self, need to stay away from Target and Hobby Lobby near holidays.

There's the cakes stand from last month, proving to be a good $3 buy.

Now go check out what some of the other ladies bought with their $10, and link up yours below.

Friday Favorites #121

Happy Monday! Today is the last day of school for Baby Fox, he is officially a 1st grader. Wait, what?! How did that happen? Anyway, I'm off celebrating with him, he wanted to get In and Out and do a picnic at the park and then for dinner he wants to go to BJ's Pizza, who am I to argue with that. Of course it's a celebration, so we're going to obviously get a Pazookie.

In case you missed it this week:

Thursday: 5 Tips To Reach Your Weight loss Goals

Here's the video I posted this week how to do a fancier fuller ponytail. It's much easier than you think!

This past week, we taught Baby Fox how to ride a bike! Totally long over due, but he didn't really want learn and we never pushed him. But he got the balance part within 10-15 minutes, and was riding longer distances at the end of the hour.

First time getting the balance on his own

After about an hour and a half of practicing.

On Sunday we took him to this park that has a ton of space to learn how to ride a bike, he learned how to start the bike on his own and even tried standing up while riding, which he did, I can't even do that!

In other weekend things, Saturday I went to my new favorite class, Purebarre, instead of using a ballet barre like other classes, we use that weighted stick down there. I sort of love it and it works muscles I don't normally use otherwise.

Afterwards we headed to a birthday party. Balloon animals, a bounce house/water slide and water balloons. She's walking her dog in case you didn't know.

Then we headed home to have some friends from out of town visit. The kids went in the pool, can I tell you how great it is to have kids that can swim and not drown. Of course we were right there, but none of the adults actually had to get into the water...amazing.

Sunday was a mega lazy day, layed around, and then went and took Baby Fox to ride his bike, and I did a ton of errands for Baby Fox's birthday party next weekend, yikes I better get on it, I haven't done any planning other than buying stuff, need to start DIYing stuff STAT!

Our friends had spent the night and woke up at 5:45...the kids were tired, this one was tired of scootering around and just wanted to relax.

After naptime I was doing computer stuff and I got up to do something with dinner, and came back to this...so dang cute.

You guys our tv broke. The kids were watching it and heard this loud pop and then the tv went out...boo! It's only 7.5 years old, it's not suppose to break like that is it? Well Mr. and I figured, it's already broken, might as well try and fix it right? Can't break it any more, so we looked up some videos on YouTube, I used my multi-meter (that thing that measure voltage and resistance), and did confirm that our power board was broken. I was trying to figure out which diodes and resistors I should switch out when Mr. said he found the whole board on ebay for $80, what? Sold, my time is worth more then that, it would have probably taken forever to try and figure out which ones we needed to replace and what the part numbers were.

In case you were curious, which you probably aren't, it was that big yellow/gold board there that was bad.

Two days later...had the board, installed it...and it works! What?! Amazing, I feel like that is a good start to the week. Sorry about being in my gym clothes but #reallife.

And we have a working TV! Anyone seen this? It's on Hulu and really good, highly recommend it. We've only seen 3 episodes, but can't wait to see where it goes!

Now onto some blogger love with The Blended Blog.

I love this new link up I found. They just started this, so it's too late for me for this month, but I"m totally doing this next month. It's like 10 on the 10th, but it isn't on the 10th of the month, just any random day you chose. The next link up is on July 12 and then August 16th. So link up those pictures!

We're also starting a new Monday series over on The Blended Blog, it's called Summer Time Fun, here are the topics for Monday for the next couple of months (On July 3rd there are some questions to be posted next week!)

Take a look at this post. It's all about how we look at food, instead of thinking diet, think Edit, like edit the way you want to eat food, instead of grabbing that sweet treat, grab some fruit to get that little sugar fix. I know that strawberries make me insanely happy, so I should grab for those instead of the ice cream that I ate last night, oops! Kelly wrote a book called, From Diet to Edit: Discover Freedom in a New Approach to Food*, go check it out!

P.S. I was not paid to showcase this, I just thought it was a cool thought and wanted to share.

Have you met Penny yet? She's so sweet and has some great stuff on her blog, this week she shared what looks like the easiest, yummiest bundt cake ever! Must go check her out.

I just like that they did the whole video in the car, with their equipment on their laps with seat belts...I like it. So talented.

Apparently I am all about making videos using objects to make music this week. It blows my mind how many talented people there are out there. I am so happy people like this have YouTube to spread their talent, instead of having to wait for some producer to "discover" them. How they did this I have no idea, their little celebration at the end when they finish is too cute.

Might as well continue on with the using strange things to sing, this girl is using the echo in a well, so pretty.

5 Tips To Reach Your Weightloss Goal

Thank You Perennial Relations for sponsoring this post. As always all opinions and thoughts are my own.

Happy Thursday Foxy Friends! I had mentioned here that I wanted to try and lose a few vacation pounds I gained back in November, oops! Summer is here and my shorts are just slightly tight, so I need to get back in shape and stop eating so much candy...perhaps I should stop buying it first, haha. Anyway, here are 5 tips I'm going to use to try and keep on track besides the whole eating healthy, blah blah blah, we all know that, it's what else you do that makes the eating healthy a little easier.

Tip 1: Motivation

You need something to motivate you to want to lose the weight. I found that I was in this loop of wanting to lose the last few pounds and wanting candy or ice cream more, and ice cream would ALWAYS win. So I put myself on a self imposed shopping ban. I knew that I needed a reason to keep motivated, plus with the Nordstrom Anniversary sale happening towards the end of July, it gave me the motivation I need to lose it before that happens. Pick something that you really, really like, and then ban it for a few weeks, next time you see that donut or cake you think, this is not going to get me towards my goal of shopping that anniversary sale.

Tip 2: Outfit

Okay let's get real, if we look cute, we're more motivated to actually do the work. Cute clothes = working out mojo. One of my favorite brands is Fabletics, I know you see it splashed all over the place, but seriously I own several pieces and they are so comfortable! I own a pair of pants, that my dad has deemed the pants he will not be seen in public with me (I wear them any chance I get when I know he's going to be around). Even before I was approached for this post, I was a member and have gotten a lot more than I probably should have. Now that it's summer I'm hoping to grab some new shorts, but see Tip 1...not before I reach my goal.

Here are the pants my dad loathes, the reason why I love them, they're loud, they have every color under the sun so no matter what shirt I wear it's always going to match. My only regret is not getting them in the shorts, because they did have them, dang.

Okay so my shoes don't match the shirt, but when you find shoes that fit your feet and are comfortable you don't care what color they come in. This whole outfit is from Fabletics, shirt, sports bra and top. All comfortable, I wish someone was home to take a picture of the back, it's super cute and the reason why I got it.

Here are some of pieces I'm loving right now, the sheer side pants are so dang cute, and then the second pair have lots of color in it, so you too can wear any shirt and it will match. Those shorts? Perfect for the summer months. I know where my next subscription money is going. If you want to sign up use my referral code, you can get two leggings for $24 and I get some cash to spend too. We all win. Trust me once you try these leggings, you won't want to go back, they are thick, so they show no underwear lines and the wash like a dream. I've washed those leggings no less than 30 times already and still looking brand new.

Tip 3: Find A Class You Enjoy

I like doing workout classes because I push myself WAY harder then I would working out on my own. Like no way I'm letting that 60 year do more reps than me. I found one at my gym called R.I.P.P.E.D, that is AMAZING, each letter stands for something. Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance. Here's a video that I found from the owner, who happens to try out all of their new routines on the class I take...it's awesomly hard, but so fun that we get to see what's coming up before anyone else in the world.

I went to class night and grabbed a picture with them. They are what make the class fun, they're enthusiasm is contagious and you can't help but want to do your best for them. All sweaty and gross after class.

Tip 4: Have a workout Plan B

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

Sometimes you can't get to a class, I get that, so I like to do some workout videos if I can. If I have 30 minutes I'll do one of the 21 Day Fix videos or 30 Day Shred.

But sometimes I have 10-15 minutes and you know what? I figure doing something is better than nothing, so I will throw on a YouTube Video and do that for a bit. There are so many out there to chose from. Here is my playlist from YouTube that I go to when I can't think of anything else to do. Although I have been doing 4-5 of Fitness Marshall dance videos, have you seen him? Hilarious and it actually works you out in the meantime. You may or may not see me and some of the Blended Blog girls doing a video to one of them come the July 24th. Wait for it, it's going to be awesome.

Tip 5: Put It Out There

I think the hardest thing is doing this alone. You are not alone, tell your family and friends what you are trying to accomplish. For one, they will probably cheer you on and encourage you when you need it most, plus if you say it out loud it's more likely that you will actually do something. For example every other time I never said anything on the blog, but now that I'm saying it, it's like I have to follow through, else I'll just look like someone who gave up. I can do this! Saying it out loud makes it more real, and will most likely make you actually do something about it.

Have any other tips for losing the weight?

Shorts and Ruffle Tee And A Fun Summer Pony Tail Tutorial

Happy hump day Foxy Friends!  I haven't done a hair tutorial in a while, so I thought I would share one this week and one next week for a fun Summer Link Up I'm participating in, heck I might get crazy and do another one the week after. But not let's get crazy here.

When I was thinking about Summer time, I thought what is the quintessential hair style, a pony tail came to mine right away. So I figured I would show you a slightly different take on your normal pony tail.

These shorts are my new favorite. They are the perfect length and they are stretchy, so you don't get that feeling like it is cutting off circulation. The top is a light weight tee, but it has ruffles so it gives it some interest.

Shorts // Tee (6 colors) // Wedges (Similar here, here and here)

It usually pretty hot in the summer, so I thought I would show you an easy fancier ponytail to make it look like you tried a bit, but in reality it's still a ponytail and it's off your neck and out of your face. Here's a video on how I got this hair style. On a side note: when I was growing back all of those baby hairs, I used this style, minus the clips, for the gym, got those annoying hairs in my face way so I could work out.

Here is a picture of the pony tail without the clips in.

Here is the after...it's it crazy how much fuller it is? This is a must if you want to make it look like you have a ton of hair. You could probably tease it a bit to get it more full, but I found that I had enough hair I didn't have to do that. It gives it just that little bit of poof that makes it look a little more interesting. Please ignore all of the split ends, I have a hair appointment at the end of the month. I used these mini jaw clips
