How to Use Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) On A T-Shirt

Hi Foxy Friends! Today I am showing you how to make your own t-shirt. I have been obsessed making these things...see here, when I made one for all of my friends.



And then I made this one too for some friends as well:


So here is how you make your very own heat transfer vinyl (HTV) shirt of your own.

What you'll need:

Heat Transfer Vinyl (I used White)
Tee shirt (my favorite brand of plain tee to use)
Craft pick
Cricut or cutting machine
Iron
Ironing board

Directions:

Step One

Let's assume you have a cutting machine, or you can hand cut (will take longer), but open program and create the graphic what you want.


 Step Two

Measure your shirt to ensure that the image will fit on your shirt.


Step Four

Print out your grahic, don't forget to mirror you image!



Step Five

Weed your HTV, so just the letters are left.


Step 6

Place HTV where you want it on the shirt.


Step 7

Using the a piece of parchment paper, place on top of logo, and iron. Press iron in shirt and hold for about 10 seconds (this time is going to vary for your iron, I find that 10 seconds work for my iron). Do no swipe back and forth, press down, life press down in new spot.


Step 8

Remove parchment paper and remove that clear coating on the HTV, this should leave the letters behind on the shirt. If the letter are peeling off of the shirt, put parchment paper on top, and hold heat on letters for a few seconds more.


Sometimes I have to use my craft pick to help the letter off of the plastic, since we'll be ironing again this is okay.

Step 9

Once the plastic off, place the parchment on the letters again and iron. You can press again, going slowly, making sure the letters are fully adhered to the shirt. You can sometimes see the grain of the shirt on the letters, that's when you know the letters are really on there.


And here is your finished product!

This is pretty much my favorite shirt and how I feel every time I go to the gym, haha. Especially when I take circuit class.


Note: Remember to wash the shirt inside out, this helps the letters last longer. If you find that the letters are starting to peel off, you can place parchment paper on top and iron again.


Now go out and make your own shirt! The sky is your limit now that you know how to do it! Here is a video I put together if you want to see exactly what I did.

Summer Floral

Hi Foxy Friends! It's another week of TBB Free Style. Where we wear what we want. Don't worry we're working on some awesome stuff come Fall. This is a dress is from Shein, and I haven't completely decided if I like it. I feel like it's more of a tropical vacation dress because it's quite thin. So let's save it for when I get to Hawaii next year...anyone want to come with us? We're going Summer of 2019.




The bracelet on my wrist is actually my fit bit. Tory Burch teamed up with Fitbit to create some cool bracelets so it doesn't look like you're wearing a Fitbit. I like it.

A Day In My Life: July 2018

Today I'm linking up with Kristin for her Daily Dime, I thought instead of doing a weekend I would do a random weekday. I decided to document Thursday, July 12th, which turned out to be super not  the ordinary day. Some background I take a vanpool to work, it's through enterprise and my work, and I carpool with 7 other people, this particular van has a dedicated driver.

3:37am - Oops I slept in 15 minutes! But had enough time to pee, wash face, put on some light make up, brush hair and of course get dressed.



3:49am - Out the door to drive to the pick up spot.

4:37am - Van drops me off in front of my building.



4:40am - Sitting at desk, ready to work. (so dusty...I promise I dust and clean)


5:20am -  Can't handle it, need to eat something, I eat my protein bar (I eat one of these every morning)


5:30am - Continue working.

9:00am - Meeting

11:30am - Get take out with work peeps, looking forward to this all week.



12:59pm - Go outside to meet van for pick up to go home, we're going home early today, yay!



2:03pm - Arrive back at the vanpool meet up spot.

2:05pm - Decide to go to Target to see if I can find the First Day of School Chalk Board (they come out this time of year every year)

2:15pm - Return something to Target, and run over to the dollar spot to see if they have the chalk boards, I'm losing hope, and find it in the last spot I look, there are 7 left, I buy all of them.

2:31pm - Arrive home to find my dad picking up the kids to go to the libaray, and Mr. came home early from work, yay!

3:30pm- Leave to go to the library to pick up kids so I can take Baby Fox to karate while Me and Mini Fox go to the gym.


4:01pm - Drop Baby Fox off at Karate



4:05pm - Waiting for Mini Fox to finish using the restroom

4:20pm - Make it over to the gym for my favorite class and friend set me up so I got a spot. Love when people offer to get me a spot, so thankful for gym friends!


5:45pm - Class is over and I head over to pick Mini Fox up from the Kids place

6:01pm- Pick up Baby Fox from Karate

6:25pm - Arrive at parents because Baby Fox forgot his blankie in my dad's car, when he took them to the library.




7:06pm - Back in the car driving home because the kids are starving.

7:18pm - Mr. gives the kids a bath while I fix a quick dinner

7:35pm - Eat dinner

8:30pm - Start getting kids ready for bed.

8:50pm- Kids are down and I am finishing up my blog post for Friday.


9:35pm - Taking shower and the lights go off, have to finish my shower by lantern, that Mr. brought when I yelped for HELP! Showering in completely darkness is strange and very horror flickish.


10:11pm - Mr. tells me that our new umbrella has solar lights. We turn them on to see what they look like, pretty darn cool! And much brighter than we thought they would be.


10:20pm - Come to realization that we are not getting power back before we go to bed...so we sit on the couch and talk a bit...before going to bed.


11:00pm - Decide to go to bed.

3am - Mini Fox wakes up and freaks out that there are no lights on in her room (she has the bightest night light of life).

3:02am- Mini Fox's crying wakes up Baby Fox, he starts to break down a bit, but composes himself when I tell them that they can both have a lantern in their room. (I have stashed enough for each of us around the house)

3:05am - I retrieve all of the lanterns, turn them all on, tuck the kids back in and go back to bed.

3:10am - I am back in bed...but this is the time I normally wake up...so lay there for a while, eventually i fall back asleep, the last I looked the clock said 3:30am.

7:03am - Power is finally back on! I knew you guys would want to know that info.


Woah, that was a long day and a few hours. Thanks for getting through that with me. This was a totally abnormally busy day, okay my days are busy, but usually not THIS busy...and exciting with no power.

Friday Favorite #171

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! We made it, I feel like after a holiday week, it's so hard to go back to work, and get into the swing of things. But anyway, here are my Friday favorites this week:

This past weekend was so fun, but what weekend that you aren't working isn't fun? Saturday morning we went to a birthday party. So glad the party was in doors, because this was the temp that day...was hot!


The little blur is Mini Fox.


There was a rock climbing wall.



We headed home to beat the heat a bit, I did a million errands while the rest of the family stayed in the nice air conditioning and watched tv. After I got back, we headed out the Dodger/Angels game...yes it was hot! I think it was 101°.

Mr.'s company has box seats, we won some tickets to go.

Don't worry, if we got too hot, there was an inside airconditioned part. Those are Baby Fox's shoes in the left lower corner. We really only stayed in here for a few minutes, enough to take the picture, and then braved the heat. Even though we were in shade, it was hot and humid but so much fun.


Mini Fox's first slurpee...she didn't like it. She thought it was "spicy" aka, the bubbles from the small amount of carbonation.


Sunday was a fun day too. We went to Church, Mini Fox had her first time at Sunday school, she loved it. We usually stay for donuts and socializing, but we headed straight home to go to the beach! Our friends picked us up, so we didn't even have to drive.

Pretty much the perfect beach weather.


We set up some shade in front of us so the kids could dig in the sand.





After we got home, we decided it was so nice out that we were going to eat dinner outside.



Pretty much the perfect weekend!



Other stuff that happened this week.

We were outside after dinner and this kid ninja'd his way up the wall.


Both kids had swim lessons, and for the first 5-10 minutes they were by themselves...private lessons for a group price, yes please!



So you knew I couldn't let this go, let's talk really briefly talk the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale...I don't have early access, for good reasons, one of which I figure if it's not available when I do get access, then it wasn't meant to be, plus it sort of stops me from buying EVERYTHING, and gives me a week to really decide what I want to try to get. With that being said, these are thing things I'll be waiting up till midnight to try and snag come July 20th.

Some things to note:

2 - I have a pair of these from last year, and they are the softest things of life...highly recommend, so much so I am getting another pair this year.

9 - This probably won't look good on me because #shortgirlproblems, but I'm going to try it anyway.

11 - I have two other patterns that I bought last year, and on my goodness, perfect summer PJ's.

15/16 - These sports bras are buy 2 for $40.

I didn't see any shoes that I absolutely have to have...any suggestions on the shoe front?

There seems to be so much more maternity stuff this year than past years. See here for all of those cute options...almost makes me wish I was pregnant to buy all the cute stuff.


I know, we might be one of the last people on earth that watches this show...but oh how I love Grey's Anatomy...and I cried the ugly cry when he died...like Mr. said to me...you better cry this hard when I die.


I love this so much, how cool that they got everyone involved. Love seeing all of the police lipsync videos popping up. Keep them coming!

Sephora, Nordstrom and a Mystery Package Haul + Try On

Hi Foxy Friends! I have another shopping haul for you. Truth be told, I bought all of the Sephora stuff a while ago and it was sitting in the box waiting for me to use do this video. I finally got the time and hopped right on it, because I wanted to start using all the stuff in the box!  I also got a mystery package (you know you shop too much when that happens). Relaxed Summer Vacation Outfit

Red, White and Blue Candy Bar

Hi Foxy Friends! Last week for 4th of July I was tasked with bringing a Red, White and Blue candy bar. I took my job from my cousin seriously. I bought all the candy, but wanted a cute way to display it...I decided to head to the Dollar Store to see what I could find. I knew that I wanted some sort of cups that I could make into a flag shape, with the Red, White and Blue candy in them. So here's what you'll need:

What  You'll Need:

Red Candy -

Swedish Fish
Red Vines 
Kit Kat (Picked out the red and white striped ones) 

other red candy that we did not use (too spicy for kids)
Cinnamon Bears
Hot Tamales

White Candy -

Hershey's Crunchers (this was a favorite, and I really only bought them because it was white)
Circus Animal Crackers (yep picked out all of the white ones)
White Fudge Pretzels
White Kit Kat
Yogurt Covered Raisins

Blue Candy -

Hershey Kisses
Nestle Crunch Bars
Kit Kat (Picked out the blue ones) and used the red and white striped ones for the Red

All three colors -

Patriotic M&M's  (didn't have time to find these, but wanted to get them)
Red White and Blue Snickers  (I separated the colors)

Containers (I found them at the Dollar Store) - I did use taller containers for the red vines, and put those towards the back, all the stripes were shorter circluar containers, and the stars were used because they ran out of the containers I wanted, but I think it worked out well.

Optional: A cheaper option would be to buy red plastic cups, blue plastic cups and white plastic cups from dollar store (so $3 for all of them)

Directions:

Step 1 - Wash all of the containers.

Step 2 - Arrange jars in flag shape

Step 3 - Separate candy and use red and white candy for the stripes, with Blue candy used as the "Stars"



I loved how it turned out, even if the little kids were too short to realize that it was in the shape of a flag. We all know they just want the candy. Enjoy making your Red White and Blue Candy Bar!
