Family Photo Outfit Ideas For The Whole Family

Hello Foxy Friends! Fall is here, okay almost here, but in my book it's here, which means family photos and panicking about what is everyone going to wear? Today I'm here talking family photo outfits. Mr. likes to refer to family photos as my Super Bowl...and he's totally right. I love everything about it,  picking out the location, picking out what everyone is going to wear... Except this year I feel super behind...we're getting pictures taken on SATURDAY and I still haven't picked out clothes for everyone! I have bits and pieces that I might use..but nothing concrete. You definitely don't want to be matchy matchy, but you also don't want to look like everyone rolled out of bed and put the first thing on they saw...Enter family outfit #1, is what I THINK we're going with...or something close to this.

Date Night Look

Hi Foxy Friends! Made it to Wednesday, it's all down hill from here..especially since I have Friday off, woo hoo! For my birthday Mr. and I went on a date night and I wore this dress. I was hesitant to keep it, because it's so tight and typically I like to wear looser clothes, but I decided to keep it and I'm so glad that I did! I think that every girl needs a tight dress to wear on a date night whether it be with friends or your significant other. Find something that makes you feel good.

5 Blogging Tips

Hi Foxy Friends! Happy Monday...woah there, I just wrote Friday...wishful thinking! Today on The Blended Blog we're talking all things blogging. Meaning, you can talk about just about anything. But today I thought I would share 5 blogging tips I've learned over the last few years.

I am by no mean a professional blogger, I don't want to, I try to keep it light hearted and blog about what I like...so here are my 5 tips:

| ONE | Find your Tribe

I know easier said than done, how do you find your tribe? Find a blog that you really like, participate in their FB group if they have it. Try to find people like you, and talk to them. Engage in real conversations and find things in common. Or find a blog you really like, and you think you'll get along...then start commenting on their blog, and engaging with them, and eventually you'll be actual friends.

How I found my tribe, I joined a style challenge group and found these ladies. We've met up twice in real life with another meet up happening 3.5 weeks! So excited to see these ladies again! We even started our collaborative blog (the one this post is for), called The Blended Blog.

2016

2017

| TWO | Write Content you Enjoy

It's so easy to get caught up in the comparison game. Don't do it. Always remember why you started. If you started so that eventually you can quite your job and do this full time, or if you started to keep memories of your family. Remember why you started and don't write posts because you think it will get a lot of clicks, because if you are writing content you don't really like or feel passionate about, people will recognize that, and you'll burn out way faster.

| THREE | Step Outside of your Comfort Zone

Sometimes, you have this fabulous idea, but you don't know how to execute. Ask a friend, see tip one. Or if you come up with an idea, don't be afraid to ask other people to join in on the fun. It goes back to my How to Make Mom Friends...if you ask, most likely people will be pretty receptive and want to join in on the fun. There just has to be someone to organize it, like Deena was the one that reached out to see if I wanted to join in on a style link up when we were doing our style challenge. Which was the start of my tribe, but I didn't know that at the time...our love for clothes brought us together. Of course I said yes and now 4 years later, we meet up every chance we get.

| FOUR | Always Remember your Journey

I feel like this one get forgotten the most. Sometimes you see these bloggers out there, and at first you really relate to them, they have funny stories, they intertwine affiliate content in a natural way, and then somewhere along the way, they forget that they use to be funny, and they're all about the money. I get it, gotta make the money to pay the bills, but remember who helped you to get there, and ignoring them when you get a little bigger and going to 100% sponsored content isn't the way to keep the people coming back. Throw your OG peeps a bone every once in a while, let them know you remember them and how they helped you to get where you are.

| FIVE | Take a Break

It's okay to take a break! I know, it seems like the world will come crashing down, you'll loose all of your loyal readers...but guess what? They're called loyal readers for a reason...they'll come back. If you need to take a break, do it! Sometimes it's good to schedule in blogging breaks, or if you're like me...you don't realize you're going to take a break, until 5 days after it happens. Either way, you get vacation from work, to recharge and re-energize, you need to do the same for blogging, social media, thinking about it. The thing with blogging is that it never turns off. You think, I NEED to get that picture for the blog, and then you forget to enjoy the moment, instead of having to run across an alligator filled pool to get that perfect picture. Trust me, when you come back, you'll be ready to tackle that project that outside of your comfort zone.

Friday Favorites #178

Happy Friday! Today Baby Fox is getting an award at school. I have no idea what it is, so I guess you'll find out next week! So lets get started:

In case you missed it this week:

Monday: 10 Fall Staples
Tuesday: Unicorn Birthday Party
Wednesday: Camo Work Outfit

And I also posted my FabFitFun unboxing video on my Youtube Channel. See a full list of what I got in the description box in the video.

Baby Fox's game got postponed till this week, so we were able to go to his first karate tournament. He did fantastic! He won 2nd place in sparring, pretty good considering he was going up against kids 2 belts higher.

So sad this picture turned out blurry...

Mini Fox started her 3 season of soccer, and did great! She was such a trooper, her team is 6 players, but two of them never played, so Mini Fox and the other 3 boys played the ENTIRE game...no complaints, just kept on running. Yep she's on a co-ed team.

Mostly the weekend was party prepping. You can see how I decorated here. Some of the pictures you didn't see.

Lots of kids swimming.

Only 3 of the 5 candles would light.

But she loved it anyway.

and then of course we had to do a family picture.

And a group shot.

And then the pinata...holy cow that was a hit!

Me my mom and sister.

I would consider this party a success. Everyone had a great time, I didn't stay up TOO late decorating and I got to take Monday off from work, wins all around!

This is one of the coolest dances ever. If I watched this show I would have voted for them a million times if I could!

Oh my goodness, this is so funny!

What do you think of a 245 day cruise? It only costs $93,000 a person! 59 countries...I feel like I would just get fat eating so much, haha! And how does that many people have that much money to fill up a whole cruise ship?

Now head on over to The Blended Blog to link up your Friday favorites! What on your agenda this weekend? We're are headed to my Aunt and Uncles to run in a charity run for Breast Cancer reconstruction. We did it once before here, and we're doing it again, this time it's a little closer to the heart.

Camo for Work

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. Click here for my disclosure page.

Hi Foxy Friends! Hope your week is going well. Today on The Blended Blog we are show casing how we style camo...if you can believe it, 4.5 years ago I wouldn't have thought I would ever wear camo. I joined a style challege, and it forever changed my life. Right now you can sign up for the Fall Style Challenge. If you are in a rut with your clothes, I would highly recommend it, here is my affiliate link code. It's $39 to join and you get 37 pieces (some you can buy or you can use what you have in a different way) and get 23 outfits to make with those pieces. It's super fun filled with fun ladies sharing their outfits daily.

Anyway, before that challenge I wouldn't have even mixed patterns, now I can't imagine life without that! And leopard...never in a million years would have worn those...and now it is a regular in my life. Okay totally off topic now, back to camo. A good pair of camo jeans goes a long way. I decided to showcase mine with my new favorite camisole, also seen here, and a little pattern mixing.

Jeans (similar) / Cami (on sale right now!) / Blazer (similar here and here) / Heels (other colors are 60% off, click here for those, wish they had my size! But they have every size above mine still left!)

On another note, remember when I told you I ordered this dress? Well I got it and unfortunately it didn't fit, but the good news. For those ladies that are looking for a wrap type dress (this one is a fake one), and are not well endowed, if you know what I mean, this dress is perfect! I know I always have problems with finding a wrap dressing that don't drape horribly.

Did you style something camouflage this week? Link up any look down below!

Unicorn Birthday Party

Hello Foxy Friends! What? Two posts in a row? I know, who am I? This past weekend was Mini Fox's 5th birthday. I know! Where did the time go? I feel like just yesterday she was this small...

And now? How did that happen?

Anyway, birthday girl wanted a Unicorn birthday...since March...she kept talking about all the things she wanted, so we did it all! I love me a good theme. I usually do some sort of background on our wall where we typically serve food, but what do you do for a unicorn? I mean super heros is buildings and stuff, like I did here. I figured I would theme everything around flowers. I've always wanted to make paper flowers...so why not start learning right now?  This was the second one  I made, the first one was a complete disaster!

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. Click here for my disclosure page.

I ended up making 5 of these, 3 big ones and 2 small ones...

The pink one fell off and I didn't retake the picture...oops.

Then I cricuted a horn, ears and cute eyes and I got this.

Then I bought these glitter banners, and added my own letters. You can't beat the price, I couldn't make that man triangles with glitter paper for that price.

I made a ton more flowers and added them to cover the tape that was holding up the banners. I like to use painters tape, which I know is blue, but it's fairly strong and can hold up your decorations without hurting the paint on your walls. So behind all of those flowers is a TON of blue tape.

I went to Party City and bought most of their unicorn decorations to decorate the tables and the ceiling.  For the food, I thought it would be fun to label, and I had bought the unicorns on a stick, so I put them in cyliner vases (bought at the Dollar Store), and then added some crinkle cut paper (also Dollar store), and added my own name on glitter paper, I stuck it to a bamboo skewer.

A friend made the cake, which turned out great. I bought these horn/ears/eyes from Amazon.

Mostly I decorated everything with the paper flowers. I did find some real flowers from Costco that were bright color daisys that worked so perfect for our theme, I had to buy them.

I printed some random unicorns to put on the window...behind. We had bought some bags for  the treat bag, and we ended up doing a pinata, so I put them out with a sticker sheet in each.

I think the pinata was a HUGE hit at the party! If you can get one, it makes doing the treat bag easier, as they just get the candy from the pinata, and the kids had a blast!

Let me tell you that thing was hard to break! Oh and a tip if you are doing a pinata at your birthday party...have extra candy on hand. We bought a bag from costco, and I also bought some suckers and ring pops to add in, plus some butterfly rings and bubbles, and it weighed way more than then recommended. I only put in 2/3 of the costco candy, but then after the pinat broke we dumped the rest of the candy from the Costco bag on the ground too, it was the perfect amount of candy. I think any less and some kids wouldn't have gotten much. So if you are doing a pinata, have extra candy to dump out. Obviously depending on how many kids, we had about 16 kids. And used probably 7.5 (ish) pounds of stuff.

Note: At Party City, it suggested we use 4 lbs of candy for our Pinata, I think ours weighed more like 5.5-6 pounds and was fine.

The last thing we had at the party was a balloon drop. You guys if you have never done one, you HAVE to do it. The kids love it and it's so cheap to do too!

Cheap thrill I'm telling ya.

So that is everything that I did for our Unicorn Party! Pretty simple decorations, nothing over the top, because this mama spent all of her time learning how to make flowers...all of which I made in 5 days...oops, I might have procrastinated a bit!
