One More Swing Dress

Hello Foxy Friends! Happy Wednesday! It's almost the end of my week, woo hoo! Taking half day tomorrow and I have Friday off, except both days I have to take the kids to appointments. Thursday they are off to the dentist and then Friday Mini Fox has to go get a wart frozen off, NOT looking forward to that. I'm commissioned my Dad to come help so he can hold her down if necessary. I don't think I can do it, I want to cry just thinking about it. Okay moving on to outfit talk.

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

You can never have too many swing dresses right? At least I don't think you can. I saw this at Old Navy and HAD to get it. It fits like a dream is super soft and I want to wear it all the time. I might have to go buy it in more patterns. I'm probably only going to be able to wear this for another month or so, so I'll cherish the time I have with my new dress before the weather changes.

One more thing:

A few blogger friends are doing a Common Threads Challenge. I just love the thought behind this. Instead of picking out a capsule wardrobe, which for me is super scary, you pick out 5 things from your closet and use one of those 5 pieces in each outfit in October. So if you pick a shirt, shoes, skirt, dress and long sleeve top, you pick on of those 5 things, and incorporate that into your outfit. I just love it. Makes you stretch your mind, because it's a month long thing. So pick your items wisely and join them/me! Can't wait to start!

My Go To Summer Going Out Outfit

Hello Foxy Fashionistas!

Back today showing you my favorite Summer going out outfit. I seriously have worn this 3 or 4 times, each time with different people so I figure it counts right?

You will never guess how I got this dress. You know on Facebook how you see those sponsored posts that say, "Hey which one of these dresses do you like the most? Let us know down in the comments below and you will be entered to win $100 gift card to our store." Well I did it one a whim and I won a $100 giftcard to Lulus.com! So I got the dress , and the shoes! Plus this skirt. Looks like they are all out of stock, but I think if enough people tell them they want it they might order more!

I have to say that I was really surprised at how comfy this dress was. It's made from thick material and very soft. The shoes, oh my goodness the shoes are so comfy! I really hope they come back into stock as they are so comfy!

I highly recommend them and they prices aren't bad either.

For my hair I kept it simple, just a side French braid. Easy. For those of you that can't French Braid and are wanting to figure it out. Check out my easy tutorial on how to French Braid. I know I've had a few people say that they couldn't figure out how to do it until they found my video, which makes me happy. Let me know if it works for you!

Another week with not much to report on the hair front. I have been doing the same two things which I don't think is picture worthy. I really need to start trying again...mid year slump? Maybe it's just too hot to try anything...not sure, I'll get back at it though. I went to my cousins 40th birthday party. Which I wore this dress and then did my hair like this.

So sad I forgot to take a picture when it was light outside, so I tried to take one in the bathroom...didn't really work.

Then I tried again at home...fail. At least I did my hair? That counts right? I did get a lot of compliments on the whole outfit and hair.

How have you been doing your hair lately?

And this is for you Blended Bloggers

Create 28: A Swing Dress and Hair Challenge Week 24

We're back to week 2 of the Create 28! Head on over to The Blended Blog to see a recap on how each prompt was styled.

This week I didn't do much, I wish I had something with fringe, perhaps that is my new goal, find something cool with fringe, I'm thinking summer sandals or a purse. Or maybe some fun fringe sleeves...hmmm...anyway, I got a new dress from Old Navy.....actually just after I bought it Whitney styled the same exact dress...great minds think alike!

Apparently I don't like the iron, oops! Sorry about that. I am just loving the swing dress style this season. Mr....not so much, but what does he know? He think everything just looks big, lol...he has a point, but it's so comfy, you can't NOT wear it!

I went simple with the accessories, just added a simple necklace, I find when I wear earrings, Mini Fox finds them super fascinating and either asks to get her ears pierced (over Mr.'s cold dead body, he says at least 12, I'm pushing for 8...well see who wins that battle), or tries to steal them out of my ears.

I saw this hair style and immediately wanted to try it. I think I've decided that my favorite looks are the ones where my hair is half up, gets my hair out of my face and at the same time I get to feel girly with my hair down.

Now onto the hair challenge, this week I just did a couple, it's hard to do my hair during work...

Seriously I am messy bun challenged...no matter how hard I try...I JUST CAN'T DO IT!

One day...one day...

Off to dinner and Mini Fox asks me...where Mama Make-Up? I said I'm not wearing any...she said...make-up Mama...uh oh, I'm creating some sort of monster that won't go out of the house without it...so I complied and quickly did my hair and make-up in 10ish minutes...okay more like 15, caught.

Mr. and I have waited patiently for Game of Thrones to start up, and then we let 7 episodes stack up before we watched, so we had been binge watching them all week...so I took this style from the Mother of Dragons...she has way more hair...but ya know I had 10 minutes.

Sunday we went to a birthday party, this might look familiar from above...yep, I took that outfit picture after naptime. This was before we went to the party.

Did you read my post from yesterday? It was all about how to go 3-5 days between washing your hair...for the record this is day 3 hair.

Link up your outfits posts, I want to see what you styled this week!

Style Perspectives: Nautical Look and Hair Challenge Week 21

Today we're styling Nicole's prompt: Navy/Nautical Stripes. But first if you missed everyone's graudation look, here it is. Didn't everyone do a fantastic job? Head on over to The Blended Blog to see who got the most clicks!

I wasn't sure how to really interpret this prompt, so I thought, well I have a navy striped dress and add some converse that's what you would where going on a boat right? Although I don't think a swing dress on a boat is that great of an idea, but it sure does look cute.

Sort of annoyed that I didn't realize that my necklace was not straight...ah well, let's just pretend.

Of course if you're going on a boat you want your hair all up. Cause that's what I imagine you'd want if you went on a boat. Right? I did a pull through braid and for the life of my can't find where I got it from...

Pull Through Braid

Onto my hairstyles for the week. Only did three this week. I did a braid crown, which I absolutely love.

Then I tried this tutorial...I don't know how she got it to look so good. It was sort of falling out when I took this picture. Will have to try again some other time.

I had curled my hair on Saturday morning and come Monday I threw my hair up in some bobby pins and then thought I'll brush my hair when I get to work...and then forgot, oops. So I took a picture of my unbrushed hair...lucky for me the curls had some massive staying power and masked the messiness.

We only have one more week of Style Perspectives and of course The Blended Blog ladies have come up with something fun for June. We're taking Carrie and Whitney's Create 28 and making it our own.
