4th Of July Outfit

Happy Wednesday! I'm taking the day off and doing a day date with Mr. but I thought I would share my 4th of July outfit with you. I thought this year I'm going plain and simple.

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

Shorts (similar here - on sale for $28.80! and here) | USA T-Shirt | Shoes

I decided to go with a simple necklace and a bold lip, cause what's 4th of July without matching red lips to go with?

Funny how when I did my make up for this look, I thought it was so heavy and bold, but now looking at the pictures you can hardly see it...goes to show if you are taking pictures you need to put on WAY more then you think you need if you want it to show up in pictures.

A fun picture for you.

Also linking up with Anne from Anne In Residence and her monthly currently where she gives you the topics to talk about. This month her guest host Stephanie, okay let's get to the topics:

Documenting: Everything I can about the kids, I know I'm going to forget it all and I'm trying to get as much down as I can and take as many pictures as I can...cause moments like these, go by fast and I can barely remember it all.

Accomplishing: My first party of two birthdays this summer. Throwing Baby Fox a half birthday is awesome, but then it makes me throwing two summer birthdays, so now that one is done I'm onto the next. Mini Fox says she wants a Frozen party...at least there's lots out there to buy for that one. Phew.

Enjoying: Summer. I'm loving the long days and the swimming and get together with friends and the staying up late with the kids. It's all so fun and I already know it's going by way too quickly!

Reading: Well besides other people's blogs, not much. I need to get on that. Too much too do, too little time. Like today, I decided instead of doing something productive I wanted to take a nap. Could I have fought through the drowsiness and did something with my afternoon, yes, but did I? No...and it felt darn good.

Spending: Nothing! Woo hoo! I am on my no shopping ban and I haven't spent anything. Actually that's not true, today my Fabletics monthly subscription (referral link) came up and I decided to use it this month because I am in desperate need of some new shorts. I have been wearing the same shorts for at least 10 years...I know. I just can't seem to find any that I really like. I like a wide waist band and the built in underwear...anyone have any leads? I'm hoping these ones will work out, we'll see.

I know tight shorts, but I say, hey if people can wear tight pants to the gym, why not tight shorts? I hope they hold it all in, and I hope I can return them if I don't like...yikes!

So tell me...if you celebrated 4th of July, what time did you get home?

Camo and Coral

Hello Foxy Friends! Today I have a two for one. While we were in Toronto and walked a bazillion miles looking at everything Toronto I had a chance to take some photos of my outfit. So get ready to see some photos that are NOT my backyard, I know you're jumping for joy too.

These pants arrived Wednesday before I left for Toronto, and when I put them on I knew I had to work it into my wardrobe. I was going to link them, but it looks like they are all sold out, boo!

and of course I had to do a jumping picture in front of a graffiti wall.

Planning: Currently planning a Mom's Night Out for tomorrow. It got postponed from last week to this week, and now it's turning out that many can't come till later, so I'm thinking about pushing it back 30 minutes. Other then that, not planning much.

Wishing: That I had more vacation time to spend with the kids this summer, but alas I don't, stupid corporate world, not giving us enough vacation time, but I am glad that we have some fun things planned for this summer.

Learning:  How to use my new Cricut. I have several projects I want to do but using new software freaks me out, so I've been avoiding it.

Browsing: All of the fashion things. I mean as soon as I put a self imposed shopping ban on...I find all the things I want. Like this, this and this

Going: To swim lessons. Usually we take the school year off and then start back up for the summer. My mom was a genius and said, why don't you make their lessons for after Baby Fox's karate class, so he'll go to Karate and then swim lessons right after. Perfect timing. I hope Min Fox learns lots. She's pool safe, but she doesn't know any strokes or anything. Baby Fox knows the basics to most of all of the strokes, but we'd like him to become a better swimmer. I think I might be the only parents that sits there and watches the entire lesson. I like to know what they are capable.

Play Ball Kind of Outfit + How To Curl Your Hair

Happy almost MLB game day opening, don't ask me why I know this. Baby Fox has recently started playing baseball and he was put on the Dodgers. Which really works out for us, because Mr. is a hardcore Dodger fan, so we already had all of the gear! Lucky us because Mr. said if he would have been put on the Giants that he would not/could not wear/buy/support that paraphernalia, see die hard fan right there.

I think nothing completes a baseball watching game outfit better that some great chucks.

I bought my t-shirt at Old Navy, which has a lot of the MLB teams available right now. They don't have my exact one, but this one they are selling is pretty close. These jeans are no longer available but these are a close second.

I decided I wanted a side ponytail, but it looks so boring just pulling it to the side, so I added a little twist in it with my favorite bobby pins and tied it up and it was super easy hair style.

This works out well being a dodger fan in that Baby Fox was put on the Dodgers. Mr. said under no circumstances would he ever wear Giants gear, even for his son, so let's hope he never gets on the Giants team.

Another week of my Hair 101 series, last week I showed you how to do a small pancake braid, this is the start to many hair styles actually. This week I'm going to show you two different ways I curl my hair. One is a uniform curl and the other is used for a more messy curly look. I even show you how it loosens throughout the day and what it looks like the next morning.

Any suggestions on other hair styles you want to see? Let me know, I'm starting to run out of ideas.

December Cozy: Cardigans

Hello Foxy Friends! We're still talking about December Cozy with The Blended Blog ladies, and today I'm bringing you my most comfortable cardigan EVER!  Like this thing is so warm and cozy. I can walk outside in the 40° temp (I know that's warm for some of you, but it's cold for me) in just this sweater and be totally warm.

Some of the links are affiliate links  and I will  either receive a small commission if you click on it or if you make a purchase from on of these links, I may receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

Softest Cardigan EVER

Also styling my hair in a bun, for the life of me I CANNOT figure out the perfect messy bun, seriously why is it so hard?!

It's also the last Wednesday of the month which means I'm linking up with Shay, Mel and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday. Woo hoo, I actually remembered!

What we're eating this week:

I just got an Instant Pot, does anyone else have one? It's AWESOME! So far we've made two pork roasts, some shredded chicken and brown rice, everything was done in way less time, super easy clean up and tasted yummy too

Why everyone should buy an instant pot

You can even sauté in this thing, it's a one pot stop.

What I'm reminiscing about:

I can't believe that I'm going to have a 6 year old in 4 days! Where did the time go? Back 6 years ago, I had no idea that I was going to have a Christmas Baby in 4 days, I was happily going along that I was due in January.

This was his first visit to the pediatrician at 5 days old.

Trying out food for the first time...it didn't go well.

Santa picture, not crying just yet...

What I'm loving:

All of the Christmas festivities, the lights, the decorations, the crisp cool air, and all of the love that everyone seems to be feeling.

What we've been up to:

It seems like we have something every weekend, weekend before last it was Legoland

Last weekend we had a cousin party and it was so much fun! Looking forward to next year already!

What I'm dreading:

Driving 300 miles tomorrow...with two kids by myself...wish me luck. At least I'll get to see my grandma and my cousins. It's been almost a year since we've seen them (this was taken last Januaray!)

What I'm working on:

Trying to get my house in order to host Christmas dinner for 24 people. Currently the place we are going to eat is a disaster! Taking today off of work so I can get errands done and prep.

What I'm excited about:

Having 11 days off of work, woo hoo! And we're going to see Chill at the Queen Mary, which we haven't done before. I hope it's super fun, and not too cold.

What I'm watching/reading:

I finally finished a book! I actually have been wanting to read this for a long time now...Woo hoo, I can't believe I actually finished a book, well we were on vacation, but still, I read it in only a few days, it was The Husbands Secret. Really good, but I totally called it towards the beginning of the book. But enjoyed reading it and see how everything unfolds.
What we've been watching lately, we picked up West World on HBO, have you seen it? Awesome! Stop and go watch it right now.

What I'm listening to:

Found this girl randomly on YouTube this week, I just think she's so cute, and has a great voice. I've really enjoyed all of her covers.

What I'm doing this weekend:

It's Christmas! My in-laws are coming to town, so we get to spend some quality time with them, and then doing the whole Christmas thing. Plus we're celebrating Baby Fox's birthday, so I'm going to be making this cake for him, except for the zebra stripes on the top, that's just going to be a picture edible overlay of Power Rangers. Fingers crossed it turns out, not doing a test run.

What I'm looking forward to next month:

The start of a new year, new beginnings and maybe, just maybe getting organized, or something that resembles being organized. Oh and I have a weekend away with my bestie, we haven't done that in almost 2 years, so it's time!

Favorite Fall Jackets and Sweaters

Hello Foxy Friends! Happy Hump Day! This month The Blended Blog ladies and I are giving a month of our Fall Favorites. It can be anything, from clothes, to shoes, to things around the house. Each week I've decided to show you something different in my Fall Favorites list. My theme this month come from a prompt from Erika and Shay who host a link up where they talk about what three items we would want with them on a deserted island. This month it's what outerwear we would bring.  So today I bring you my favorite Fall jackets.

Every since Carrie, chose blazer and sneakers for her Style Perspective challenge, I have been obsessed.

I love this  knit blazer so much. I have been looking for a black blazer for a while now. I have one, but ultimately decided it wasn't for me.

This one is super comfortable and looks at the piping inside, totally unexpected right?

I just love the new Cinderella movie. The message is fantastic, so when I saw this shirt, I knew I had to have it, I even bought one for my mom.

Some other jackets that I'm loving for the Fall...most of them are under $100. Which one would you chose?

1. Drape Front Leather Jacket // 2. Pilot Jacket // 3. Black Cardigan  // 4. Circle Cardigan // 5. Drape Front Cardigan // 6. Moto Jacket

Style Perspectives: Nautical Look and Hair Challenge Week 21

Today we're styling Nicole's prompt: Navy/Nautical Stripes. But first if you missed everyone's graudation look, here it is. Didn't everyone do a fantastic job? Head on over to The Blended Blog to see who got the most clicks!

I wasn't sure how to really interpret this prompt, so I thought, well I have a navy striped dress and add some converse that's what you would where going on a boat right? Although I don't think a swing dress on a boat is that great of an idea, but it sure does look cute.

Blue and White Stripe Swing dress with Converse

Swing Dress

Sort of annoyed that I didn't realize that my necklace was not straight...ah well, let's just pretend.

Of course if you're going on a boat you want your hair all up. Cause that's what I imagine you'd want if you went on a boat. Right? I did a pull through braid and for the life of my can't find where I got it from...

Pull Through Braid

Onto my hairstyles for the week. Only did three this week. I did a braid crown, which I absolutely love.

Then I tried this tutorial...I don't know how she got it to look so good. It was sort of falling out when I took this picture. Will have to try again some other time.

I had curled my hair on Saturday morning and come Monday I threw my hair up in some bobby pins and then thought I'll brush my hair when I get to work...and then forgot, oops. So I took a picture of my unbrushed hair...lucky for me the curls had some massive staying power and masked the messiness.

We only have one more week of Style Perspectives and of course The Blended Blog ladies have come up with something fun for June. We're taking Carrie and Whitney's Create 28 and making it our own.

Here's how it going to work, there are 28 prompts broken down by weeks. Each day one of the 16 bloggers will post their look on their own blog, and each Wednesday we'll have a recap of all of the looks on The Blended Blog. So join along, pick and chose what looks you want to do and post them on Wednesday for The Blended Blog weekly fashion link up. Don't have a blog? Don't worry use #theblendedblogstyle on social media, who knows you might be featured on The Blended Blog Social channels. Here are the daily prompts.

Who's excited for June and create 28? I know we all excited to share our looks with you!
