CaseApp Review

Thank You CaseApp for sponsoring this post. As always all opinions and thoughts are my own.

I was so excited when CaseApp approached me to receive some free products from them. I love getting custom iPhone cases for my phones. Specifically when they are pictures of my kids, cause who doesn't love looking at their kids pictures all the time? The first time I got an iPhone was a few years back and I quickly jumped on the picture on phone case band wagon. When I got my upgrade (courtesy of Mr.), I got another one right away. I typically just went with the cheapest thing I could find.

Enter CaseApp, their prices are awesome! No need to look for the cheapest price around, just go straight to CaseApp, and they got your covered, and most likely you can find a 20% off coupon code somewhere, so if mine is expired, just type in 20% off in google and I'm sure something will pop up. For now you can use FOXYSDOMESTICSIDE20 to get 20% off your next order.

They have a tougher case, which this girl really needs, and it covers the front side too, so I feel if you drop it, it's going to protect the corners of your precious phone. The website is SUPER easy to navigate and to upload pictures and designs, they even have a bunch of design, shapes and pictures you could add from their suite of graphics. Super easy, the only problem is...choosing what you want to get!

I just love this picture of the kids.

You can't tell, but it's a matte case. I really like the feel of it, as it doesn't feel slick and I don't feel like I'm going to drop it. The colors that are coming out here, don't do it justice, the colors are really vibrant and gorgeous, exactly how my pictures print out in person. I love how the picture wraps around the sides to make it more seamless.

I also got an iPad skin. I had no idea what this was when I ordered it. Quite honestly I thought it was going to be an actual case, I have no idea why I thought that. Anyway, I'm in love with it. It was so easy to apply, and doesn't make the iPad bulky at all.
It took me about 3 minutes to apply this perfectly, the fit was spot on. I think even though I accidentally ordered the skin instead of a case, I sort of like it better, it has a slight texture to it so you feel like you can get some grip on it. You could get a pattern on the front as well, but I didn't do that. I love it just the way it came out.

I also had a questions about one of the cases, and after I emailed the help center they emailed me back within 12 hours and had an answer for me. I love when they get right back to you, cause you know you're itching to buy whatever you need and want an answer RIGHT NOW.

I know you want one now, enter below and you could win a free case of your choosing!

Don't forget to use FOXYSDOMESTICSIDE20 for 20% off your next order in case you can't wait!

Help My iPhone Broke!

Yep, it happened again. I'm really re-thinking this whole I am old enough to have an iPhone. Seriously! First the whole incident with the water thing happened. Then I never told you, back in December (now I could blame Mr. but I won't, I'll take responsibility), I had some lip gloss that lost it's lid. And instead of throwing it away...I just kept it in the cubby on the side of my middle console that I NEVER use. It just sat there, unprotected, but it worked, when I needed some lip gloss it was just always there. It was there for about a year. Well something must have happened and it leaked EVERYWHERE. Seriously, after that long and it decided to leak now? Anyway, I was driving and Mr. put my phone in that little cubby, because he thinks it's a good phone holder. And then the speaker got clogged with lip gloss. Oops! But wait before that or during that, I'm not exactly sure when it happened...I dropped my iPhone and the back cracked! Seriously, the back cracked, I guess I am thankful. After that really long intro, let's get to it.

You will not believe how easy this was! Seriously, Mr. bought a back from eBay for $4, no joke. He also bought a tool kit for about the same price.

Doesn't this look almost like the original? Crazy right?
We followed this guy's tutorial.

This is my iPhone, can't even tell it's cracked can ya? But it made a funny crunchy noise when I pushed down on the back...not good right?

Take off the cover and this is what I got...crazy!

Here's how to fix it

Step 1:

Using the handy dandy took kit you just got, use the screw driver to take out the screws.

TIP #1: We use clear plastic cups to hold the screws. That way you can always seem them, and they won't roll away. Those things are small!

Step 2:

Take off the back

Tip #2: We (when I say we, I really mean Mr.) used gloves in case the glass shattered any more, we didn't want tiny shards of glass in Mr.'s hands.

You have to use a little bit of pressure, but the back does come off really easily.

Step 3:
Slip on the new backing and put the screws back in. That easy...I know right? Why are you paying someone $25+ to do something that takes minutes to do and is less then a $5 fix.

Okay so now onto the more complicated fix. The speaker. Literally you have to take out every single thing in your iPhone to fix the speaker. So of course do this at your own risk. Mr. followed this guy's tutorial.

See all those plastic cups holding the individual screw sets? Yep, also helpful for putting back together.

I don't have a step by step, it took him about an hour 15 minutes, but he said now that he knows how to do it, it would probably only take 20 minutes. So the next time I screw up my speaker, 20 minutes :) Oh and the speaker was about $5. The guy at the shop said it was a $40 fix...woo hoo for having a handy husband.

Now all Mr. has to do is replace the front screen and he'll have put together a whole iphone, hopefully that doesn't happen though. Fingers crossed, so far not even a year into it and I've broken it several times. Oops!

Hopefully you aren't as clumsy as I am with my phone and won't need this, but just in case...here's how to fix if you get your phone wet.

I Love Rice and My Dad - Fixing your Wet Phone

Remember when I told you this on Monday? Well guess what? It worked! I know you have all been dying to know. I'm so happy! yay!

Use Rice to Dry out Phone
I know 163 unread message, crazy right?

So now that I have that behind me, I'm going to let you guys know how I brought my phone back from the dead. So if this ever happens to you, actually I take that back, this will never happen to you because WHO puts their phone in a cup of water!?! So this is how my Dad helped me save my phone. Dad always to the rescue.

How to Save Your Phone When You Drop Place it in Water

Step 1: Freak out that Siri just stopped talking to you and when you look down to see why realize you've put your phone in the cup of water you told yourself was a stupid thing to bring cause something will probably happen.

Step 2: Denial that you're phone is broken, you just got your first smart phone and have never had previous problem with water, why now?!

Step 3: Parking car and start vigorously shaking phone out, wondering how in the hell can this much water get in a phone in 1.5 inches of water?!

Step 4: Start walking towards the hospital (no this didn't put me in the hospital, I was visiting someone, they're recovering well), using my maxi skirt and shaking my phone into it like I'm a pack a day smoker prepping the first smoke of the pack, you know what I'm talking about...

Step 5:  Tell anyone who will listen that I'm holding a dead phone walking...

Step 6: Walk into said hospital room and rant about my phone being broken, then realize, shit I should ask how the person is doing who is actually sitting in a hospital bed. Hospital person always trumps dead phone, always.

Step 7: Dad tells you to take out SIM card, cause when he dropped his phone into a gutter (our family has issues), his phone told him (literally, a message popped up on his screen) to take the SIM card out.

Step 8: Have to find something small enough to fit into that little hole in the iPhone to get out the SIM card, hospital person says, hey I saw a paperclip on the ground over by room #XXX while I was out walking my laps.

Step 9: Get SIM card out and realize it's okay and that it didn't get wet, phew!

Step 10: Dad says that we need rice and that the hospital had rice for lunch, he's going down to ask for some (not cooked, obviously, but Mr. did have to double check that one. We figured they had cooked rice at lunch, they must have uncooked rice for us to use)

Step 11: Put phone in bag of rice, wait impatiently for over a day for phone to hopefully dry out. The good part of that is I figured out why our landline isn't working (yep we still have one of those, much to Mr.'s protest), what if I needed to call for help, it made me nervous, the whole hour and half till Mr. got home from work and we would have a phone again.

Step 12: Take phone out of rice, try to turn it on...see the apple sign and scream/jump up and down like an idiot and so happy that the money you had been saving up for a new camera will not need to be used for a new phone!

So that's how you do it people, here it is simplified

Shake the phone like it's your business to get water out → put in bag of rice → wait → turn on phone and hope that it goes back on, you only have one chance.

Side note: Water is an electrical conductor, so if you turn on the phone and there is still water in there and the water is touching a grounding spot and a power spot they will short together and your phone will definitely be broken (I just totally nerded out there), so don't turn on your phone until you really know it's dry!

Any of you try this? Did it work for you?

This picture has NOTHING to do with my story, other than she's drinking water and I put my phone in a glass of water...I just thought it was ridiculously cute and thought you would want to see it.

Her first time drinking water from a straw
Happy Friday!

P.S. In 8 days I will have driven over 1000 miles...yes I was in the car a lot this past week.

Life According to My iPhone

I really need to learn how to pose when I'm not wearing pants, more ladylike, seriously.

I loved wearing this outfit, it felt fun, flirty and the best part? I finally broke in my black pumps! While I could have done some color with my shoes, I decided I really wanted to break in my pumps, I have been dreading it. The last two times left my feet filled with blisters, but this time, not one! yay for breaking in new shoes...

Top - Loft (old), Skirt - Norstroms (old), Shoes - Franco Sarto (via DSW old), Necklace - Old (similar - but it's soldout, but you can get on a waitlist)

Remember when I told you guys this? Yep, was going through the pictures Mr. took and guess what, there's one of my butt again, LOL.

Random things at my house:

Mr and Baby Fox like to play "bump" Which consists of Baby Fox riding his tricycle and Mr. on the Plasma Car, and them chasing and running into each other. This time Mini Fox crawled up to the gate, stood up and then started yelling at them for her to join.

Good thing we have these covers, she goes right to them every time!

Cause if at first you can't get it with your finger, you can definitely eat it.

Don't worry I just snapped the picture and then got her
If those don't work then she this is a good alternative:

Baby Fox telling me on our way home from the park that he couldn't possibly walk any further cause his legs just couldn't walk any more.

Last but not least, I took Mini Fox for her 9 month check up. She currently weighs 18 pounds 10 oz (48%), 28.8 inches tall (87%) and head circumference is 43.8 cm (46%). The only time she really cried was when she was on the "crunchy" paper, she cried more laying down on it then the actual shots. She took them like a champ and recovered as soon as I picked her up.

Good and Bad News

Which do you want to hear first? I always pick bad cause then it won't seem as bad when you hear the good.

So here's my BAD news.
I lost my iPod Touch. I left it on the treadmill when I went to my Boot Camp Class. I realized it right before going to bed, so I quickly called the gym and they said that things that are of value they put in the safe and she didn't have the key. So I'd have to call back today. I'm waiting for a respectable time to call. 6am seems too early. Of course because I'm a girl I couldn't sleep because I was just thinking about my poor iPod, all lonely and scared. Hoping the new fancy gym we signed up at, have people who don't need a 7 year old iPod. Yep that's right, I have a 1st generation iPod Touch. I use it everyday for 7+ hours a day...I'm going to be lost without it, not to mention all of my music I've collected over the years...and not in an iTunes kind of way.

This is how I feel, dramatic I know

I don't have a picture of me crying, I, however, do have a picture of Baby Fox crying, he was upset that it was bedtime and that he couldn't keep running up and down the hallway
Now on to the GOOD news. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. I still don't have a smart phone, I mention it here, here and here, not obsessed or anything. So about a a week ago, Mr. comes home and starts off a story, so don't get excited because this story does not end in your favor. He tells me that his company said he could upgrade his phone, blah blah, but in the end they said that the date was wrong and that he couldn't. Boo. So yesterday, he tells me, the Phone Lady called him and said that he was in fact eligible for a new phone and that he should go order it through the company website. He did, they sent a confirmation and then a few hours later sent him a shipping receipt. So it looks like I might have a new iPhone next week! Next week people! I can hardly contain myself. This works out perfect, if I did in fact lose my iPod, then I can just use my new iPhone! Get ready for some picture crazy posts! :)

This is how I feel, happy with ice cream all over my face. Oh to be a kid again.
