Style Perspectives: Spring Sweater + Jeans + Flats + Week 14 of The Hair Challenge

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends. Yet another week of the Style Perspectives with The Blended Blog! I am loving seeing everyone style the prompts and meeting new people through the link up!

This week it's Lana's perspective and she chose a Spring Sweater + Jeans + Flats. In case you didn't know, she is one of the people to inspire me to wear my closet. I can't wait to see what she comes up. Don't forget to go check to see how she styled it, I'm sure she came up with something fabulous!

To tell you the truth I don't own many Spring sweaters, it just doesn't get very cold here so there really isn't a need for them. So I styled the most Spring sweater I have, which isn't all that Springy...ah well!

In case you missed it last week. This is how everyone was styling their Bright pants, everyone did a fantastic job right? Loving all of the red pants!

Onto the Hair Challenge Week 14!

Last Wednesday I did a simple braid in my hair. I like it because it gets it off of my face and then when I got to the gym I just have to throw it up in a pony tail. I like doing my hair like this because I have a lot of baby hair still growing out and if it's not in the braid it just gets in my way.

Thursday I decided to curl my hair, I had a few extra moment in the morning, so I figure heck why not!

Then as I was scrolling through IG I saw that Pantene was holding a contest, all you have to do is take a picture of your blown out hair or curls and use #helloAirSpray #panteneXbloglovin and #contest and guess what you win? A trip to NYC for a girls night away...woo hoo! I'm all in, fingers crossed I win, although highly doubtful.

Friday I decided to try the Travel Braids again...apparently I forgot to link the youtube account last time...it's Kate from Small Things Blog. She has great tutorials.

My hair is much longer than hers, so I end up having to snake it around a lot. Mr. says he likes it, as long as he likes it...I'm good with that.

Saturday I went to a bridal shower and I knew Mr. and I were going to go on our Anniversary date as soon as we got back, so I wanted to have my hair done for both...something casual enough for both things, this twisted crown was perfect.

This might be one of my favorite styles yet...simple yet elegant.

Sunday I tried a Crown braid...although it didn't really work out like the tutorial, but it was still easy. They always make their braids look so full...how do they do that?! Funny that this one looks a lot like the one from my Style Perspectives, but it's not...this is an actual braid, while the one up there, is a series of a LOT of rubber bands! Funny how they look the same but I went about getting them in a totally different way.

That's all I did this week. Monday was just a lazy day and Tuesday I stayed home so it went up into a pony tail...oops! Oh well we all of them! Don't leave just yet! Guess what? I'm part of an amazing group of bloggers and we're going to give you a $200 gift card to Target! Think of all of the things you can get at Target with that?! It's an IG follow one, so find some new IG accounts, win $200, what could be easier?!

10 Things I Learned From Wearing Everything in My Closet

....In March....

It's April and I've done 31 days of wearing everything in my closet...for a month so far. I wasn't sure if I was going to continue when I started, but after finishing the first month I'm going to keep going until I get tired of doing it. That being said, I thought I would link up with Karli and her new 10 on Tuesday list series and give you a list of 10 things I learned while trying to wear everything in my closet.

1 - I am a clothes hoarder

2 - I own too many t-shirts (before I started this journey 2 years ago, I didn't own very many t-shirts, and I set out to change that, now I have too many...oops)

3 -  With #2 being said I need some more blouses...or shirts that aren't t-shirts

4 - I tried not to do much shopping for myself, and paid more attention to trends and what I really wanted, so far I've decided I want some cold shoulder shirts and some t-shirts that aren't from Target.

5 - It's okay to get rid of something because you wanted to try a trend and it just didn't work out for you. Lesson learned and move on

6 -  I'm much more creative with outfits, and are more intentional with what I wear. Like I'll go to my closet and think I want to wear that, then think No I want to wear that this weekend, so let's pick something else

7 - I need to get rid of some shoes that I don't wear any more, and I'm okay with that now.

8 - I discovered I do like denim shirts and now I need to find one that I can both wear normally and tied in a knot, anyone have any longer denim shirts I should check out?

9 - If I haven't worn it in a year, no matter how much I want to keep it, I should just give it away, even if I bought it and never wore it...I'm not going to wear it...see #5

10 - I actually like seeing all the different outfits I've put together. One day I'll learn how to make a really cool collage. But for now this will have to do:

March in Numbers

Today I'm linking up with Deena for my month in numbers, love doing these each month.

3 - The number of times I took Baby Fox rock climbing at the gym.

8 - The number of allergy shots I got this month.

2 - The number of times I went to Disneyland

1- The number of baby cousins I met, she's the cutest.

21 - The number of selfies I took this month

5 - The number of Easter Egg hunts my kids went on

31 - The number of outfits I wore and didn't repeat any top...I had to repeat some bottoms

1 - The number of date nights I went on with Mr.

2 - The number of new foods I tried and didn't get sick! Woo hoo. More on my food allergies coming soon. I tried Soy and Dairy and it was amazing!

That's all I have this month. What is one of your numbers this month?

Friday Favorites #63

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! Yay for the weekend, although this is the first 5 day work week for me in a long time! But it went by pretty fast, so that's good.

In case you missed it this week:

Just to make it easier, I'll just go ahead and post that video here too :) See how nice I am?

Here are my outfits of the week. This was my last week of outfits since I decided to just do it for March...still thinking if I am going to keep it going, I'm thinking yes, but I have a blogging conference mid-April so I might have to break the rule for that. But otherwise I am going to keep going. oops, forgot to take an outfit picture, but I wore that striped shirt with some jeans, and nude flats.

I can't believe that Mr. and I have been married for almost 11 years! This time 11 years ago, we were getting ready for our rehearsal dinner. So here's a funny story for you. Mr. and I didn't live together before we got married (read here and here why) so I moved all of my stuff in his apartment the week before our wedding, which happened to be Easter weekend, and Mr was also getting confirmed into the Catholic church. So I moved all my stuff, including my clothes, took what I needed for work and went and lived with my parents for the week. Well...guess what I forgot? Honeymoon clothes! Yep, that's right...mr. said we weren't leaving on our honeymoon until Tuesday I figured I had time to pack. I wasn't thinking about after the wedding, like I'm going to need to change out of my wedding dress! So I asked him to bring me some stuff rom the pile of clothes on the couch...since he knew where we were going. And guess what he brought me? A red plaid skirt that was much too short, and some purple silky top, some orange pants and some ugly pj tank top...yep that's what he brought. So what did I do? Just before our rehearsal and dinner my bestie and I went shopping for honeymoon clothes. Sadly I had most of those clothes still up until about two months ago, I figured 11 years, I got my money out of it. I bought this outfit from Express.

This one too. That's a nice couple we met also on their honeymoon. I can't for the life of me remember their names. Actually most of the clothes I wore on my honeymoon were clothes we bought that day, so it was worth being a little late to my rehearsal, apparently I had nothing to pack.

In case you were wondering we went to French Polynesia. It was fantastic. I wrote a little about that here and here.

Swimming with sting rays, turtles and sharks, such a fun outing! Sorry for the grainy pictures, couldn't find the digital copy so had to scan this one in.

All this to say, Happy Anniversary to Mr. You make my life better and make me want to continually be a better person. Here's to many more wonderful vacation, with and without the kids and to many, many more happy years together!

The kids were feeling under the weather on Monday (my usual gym day) so I decided to hit up Pinterest and try one of the workouts there. I did this one, and it was a great 30 minute workout. Let me know if you try it and what you think!

P.S. I was super sore, which is a good thing. By Wednesday I was having issues walking...but went to my workout class anyway, and was okay...Lesson of the day: Even if you are tired and sore, working out more is going to work out that soreness, woke up Thursday feeling great!

What's a Friday favorite without a fun video to watch?

I don't know what this game is, but all I know is I want to play it...

Wedding Video Highlights

Happy Thursday Foxy Friends! Yay for Thursday, tomorrow is Friday and the weekend, so it's practically the weekend already.

Mr. and my wedding anniversary is on Saturday, so I figured I would show you the highlights video that our videographer put together. For those of you engaged I highly recommend having someone, anyone record your wedding. If you can't afford one, just have a friend do it. It is so worth it and now every year on our anniversary we watch our vows and our wedding and we get to relive the whole day over...more than just pictures. As a bride you don't get to see everyone walking down the isle, but with a videographer you get to see everything. The day is such a blur that it's nice to relive it with more than just pictures.

I can't even believe that we've been married for 11 years, the time has flown by so fast, and I wouldn't want to share this with anyone else. Good thing, since it seems like I'm stuck with him :)

Happy, almost 11 year anniversary Mr.!

Tell me in the comments below how long you've been married or been with your significant other!

P.S. funny enough, I'm going to a wedding shower on Saturday...such a great way to celebrate our anniversary, although we won't be together...haha. We'll at least get the evening together.

Style Perspectives: Bright Pants and Hair Challenge Week 13

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! Another week with the Style Perspective with The Blended Blog. Today Shaunacey from Simply Shanacey is talking about her signature look of bright pants, go check out her post here.
When I first met Shaunacey back in our Style challenges she had these pair of red pants that I coveted. Every time she wore them I wanted a pair and then I spent the next 1.5 years trying to find a pair that was red and that was like hers...and I FINALLY found it...these are the exact pair. Worth the price, super comfortable and it comes in 12 colors! I might have to pick up another pair.

This was the very first thing I ever bought at a consignment shop. Mr. and I were in Santa Barbara on a weekend getaway and found it.

I just love the cute detailing on the sleeves.

Of course I tried something new with my hair. I did the triple French braid again, but instead of putting it up in a bun I did extra braids and then braided all of it together. If I were to do it again I would make the French braids go a little further back on my head so when I braided all of the braids together there aren't the large gaps between everything.

In case you missed it, last week all the ladies styled Abbie's choice of Patterned Shirt and Neutral! What I learned last week is I need some patterned shirts, mine was definitely the most tame of them all. Which one is your favorite?

Now onto the hair challenge, week 13! Holy cow the time is flying by and I almost feel like I am getting better at it.

Last Wednesday I tried this twist to a fish tail.

It's sort of hard to see it in this picture. I couldn't get a clear picture for whatever reason...

Thursday I used the same curls from the day before and did a simple twist.

Friday I want to the kids museum with a friend and wanted to try a new hair style out. Mr. woke up early so I figured I would do my hair. I did a did a stacked fish tail with a Dutch French braid. I think I need more hair to do this, but I think it turned out pretty good.

Saturday was a lazy day and I didn't even get dressed till I had to go to dinner at a friends, so I threw my hair up in this simple pony tail twist.

Sunday I did the coolest hair style ever. My mom said it was her favorite hair that I've done so far.

I'm going to go ahead and give Mr. partial credit for this one. He helped me do the loop part. I couldn't get the rubber band in the right spot to do the loop, so he put it in the spot that I needed it to be, I told him I was going to give him credit. It wouldn't have looked nearly as good without him.

Next time I think I'll take more hair from the sides so that there isn't that straight part there.
Confession, I knew I was going to workout on Monday so I didn't want to wash my hair, so it was super dirty with how much hair spray I used from the style above...don't worry I was clean, I took a body shower....that was probably TMI...oh well.

That's it for this week. Not sure if I'm going to be able to do as many this coming week, but I'll certainly try! Join us next week for Style Perspectives, the theme is: A Spring Sweater Jeans and Flats
