Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Flattery

Hi Foxy Friends! Today over on The Blended Blog we are sharing looks we saw someone else do. When I saw Andrea style her red pants and chambray shirt I knew I had to do it too. I thought, hey I have all of those things and have NEVER put it together before! So here it is:
How to put together the perfect outfit

Pants (similar) / Shirt (similar, but not really) / Heels (similar)

I even have the leopard heels on, you can barely see them though!

Here is my inspiration:

I should have paired it with a chunky necklace, that looks great too, I didn't because, it was raining really hard all day and I had about 2.5 seconds to run outside to take pictures. haha. #bloggerproblems

Definitely going to put this together again when it gets a bit warmer outside.

what to wear for a beach date

I really need to find my 50mm lens, it got swept up in the Christmas, we're having 25 people over for Christmas dinner sweep, and I haven't been able to locate it...wondering how long before I just buy a new one, cause this lens isn't cutting it.

Head on over to The Blended Blog or our host, Deena's, blog and link up your fashion inspirations.

3 Things I Will Never Wear

Hi Foxy Friends! Today I'm linking up with The Blended Blog and our host Shaunacey from Simply Shaunacey. We're continuing with them Never Have I theme of the week, with things you will never wear.

First Trend

First up is the Wide Legged pant. I think they look GREAT on everyone else except me! I have tried so many times, but look how cute these pants are? One day I will find a pair that work for me! I guess I was digging the stripes when I made this.

Second Trend

Pencil skirts, do NOT work for this pair shaped body...I want them to look good, and I haven't worn them at different times in my life...but I need things to be flowy. I wish they looked better, cause they are so darn cute!

Third Trend

Cutout Booties. I know, they are super cute! But they look AWFUL on my skinny ankles and fat calves...so for now I'll just admire them from afar, because seriously, how cut are they?!

So what is a trend that you won't wear? I wish these would work from me because they are so stinkin cute, but they DO NOT look so cute on me! Go link up your post with Shuanacey or The Blended Blog. Then go check out what the other ladies won't be wearing this season.

White Pants Are Back and Pancaking Small Braids

Happy Wednesday Foxy Friends! Spring has officially sprung and that means pastels and white pants are back right? Even though I love my dark colors,  there is just something about white that makes me happy. Adding some bright colors to white pants makes for such an easy outfit.

I love doing simple and easy hair styles to complete my outfits. It doesn't take much time on my side, but I think always makes an outfit more complete. This one I just twisted two sides of my hair and tied them in the back. Half up dos just scream Spring to me.

Another week of my Hair 101 series, last week I showed you how to pancake a braid. This week is part two, an easy style for your newly found pancake braiding skill. I do this hair style when I have dirty hair, and just want it off my face. It's one of the most basic hair styles you can do. I hope you enjoy!

Faux Leather Jacket

One of my best blogger buds, Lisa from Daily Style Finds,  also a fellow The Blended Blogger, gave me this jacket. Like what? How did I get so lucky? Such an amazing friend and so generous. Anyway, it's from Forever 21, and it's sort of edgy/awesome/warm/awesome...did I mention awesome? Thank you Lisa for the jacket.

Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

Exact is not available but here are some similar here and here (in blue, cream and black).

I love the side detailing of the jacket.

There are so many ways that you can zip up the jacket, can change the whole look just how you zip it up.

A little half zip for you. Those buckles at the bottom, so darn cute.

If you are wondering, which you're probably not, but...my fake eyelashes are these and my lip color is the Kylie Cosmetic Lip Kit in Leo.

I tried on several necklaces, but because of all of the zipper details, I thought I would go with some great earrings.

This is definitely something outside of my comfort zone, so thank you Lisa for pushing me to try something new, and hey guess what? I like it!  What have you tried outside of your comfort zone lately?

Outside My Comfort Zone

Happy Wednesday Foxy Friends! Another week of A New Year Styled, it's a new year and I'm trying to put together something outside of my comfort zone. For whatever reason I have never really been a layering girl. I will put a tank top under, but I've never really done the two shirts thing. and I have to say I really liked it. Although I do need a longer chambray shirt, anyone have any suggestions? As I was getting underdressed that night, Baby Fox was taking a bath as I was changing and he said...wait, you have two shirts on?! How did you do that?!

I just love this Ted Baker White Watch. I have been looking for a walk white watch for years now! Most of the ones that I saw were big and chunky...because that was what was in style. I was out Christmas shopping and was at Nordstrom shoppoing for someone else when I saw this watch, I immediately tried it on and loved it. Then contemplated for a good while whether or not to get it, but decided I could return it if I didn't want it, I knew if I didn't get it I would regret it, especially since I have been wanting a white watch for years!

My really good friend owns this shop called BEXO, which stands for “be xtraordinary”, she wants everyone to be a person that lives into their purpose and vision, and anyone is capable of achieving what they want in life. Keeping this meaning in mind, each jewelry design inspires her and other individuals to “be xtraordinary”. I just love that statement. She is the kindest, best person ever, I hope you go give her site a gander and shop around. The necklace I am wearing is the Moonstone Gem Collection, I think it adds a slight daintiness that nothing I own does.

On a side note, my shoes are almost 3 years old and they are past their prime...you know when shoes used to be SO comfortable and then suddenly their not? Yeah that is me with these shoes. I keep trying to wear them, but at the end of the day my feet are killing me. Time to find a new pair. Now it's your turn, link up your outfits below!

Style Perspectives: Bright Pants and Hair Challenge Week 13

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! Another week with the Style Perspective with The Blended Blog. Today Shaunacey from Simply Shanacey is talking about her signature look of bright pants, go check out her post here.
When I first met Shaunacey back in our Style challenges she had these pair of red pants that I coveted. Every time she wore them I wanted a pair and then I spent the next 1.5 years trying to find a pair that was red and that was like hers...and I FINALLY found it...these are the exact pair. Worth the price, super comfortable and it comes in 12 colors! I might have to pick up another pair.

This was the very first thing I ever bought at a consignment shop. Mr. and I were in Santa Barbara on a weekend getaway and found it.

I just love the cute detailing on the sleeves.

Of course I tried something new with my hair. I did the triple French braid again, but instead of putting it up in a bun I did extra braids and then braided all of it together. If I were to do it again I would make the French braids go a little further back on my head so when I braided all of the braids together there aren't the large gaps between everything.

In case you missed it, last week all the ladies styled Abbie's choice of Patterned Shirt and Neutral! What I learned last week is I need some patterned shirts, mine was definitely the most tame of them all. Which one is your favorite?

Now onto the hair challenge, week 13! Holy cow the time is flying by and I almost feel like I am getting better at it.

Last Wednesday I tried this twist to a fish tail.

It's sort of hard to see it in this picture. I couldn't get a clear picture for whatever reason...

Thursday I used the same curls from the day before and did a simple twist.

Friday I want to the kids museum with a friend and wanted to try a new hair style out. Mr. woke up early so I figured I would do my hair. I did a did a stacked fish tail with a Dutch French braid. I think I need more hair to do this, but I think it turned out pretty good.

Saturday was a lazy day and I didn't even get dressed till I had to go to dinner at a friends, so I threw my hair up in this simple pony tail twist.

Sunday I did the coolest hair style ever. My mom said it was her favorite hair that I've done so far.

I'm going to go ahead and give Mr. partial credit for this one. He helped me do the loop part. I couldn't get the rubber band in the right spot to do the loop, so he put it in the spot that I needed it to be, I told him I was going to give him credit. It wouldn't have looked nearly as good without him.

Next time I think I'll take more hair from the sides so that there isn't that straight part there.
Confession, I knew I was going to workout on Monday so I didn't want to wash my hair, so it was super dirty with how much hair spray I used from the style above...don't worry I was clean, I took a body shower....that was probably TMI...oh well.

That's it for this week. Not sure if I'm going to be able to do as many this coming week, but I'll certainly try! Join us next week for Style Perspectives, the theme is: A Spring Sweater Jeans and Flats
