Friday Favorites #81

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! It's my first full 5 day work week in 3 weeks, rough times...haha, just kidding, sort of. Anyway, here are some of my favorites from the week.

In case you missed it on the blog this week.

Monday: Christmas In July Gift Exchange
Tuesday: What's in My Make-Up Stash
Wednesday: Styling my favorite flowy polka dot skirt
Thursday: Sentence A Day: July Edition

One of the most exciting things to happen this week? I won $250 gift card to Nordstrom! Woo hoo, thank you Alison @ Get Your Pretty On! Alison is the one who got me to update my wardrobe and got me into wanting to dress myself pretty with her Style Challenges. See all of my style challenges here. I tried to see if I could return some of my previously bought purchases and use her gift card instead, but almost everything I wanted was sold out, wah, wah. Oh well, just means I get more stuff right? Anyway, here is everything I have bought and kept so far.

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 (no longer available) // 9

How about a new list for you all? The things I was super disappointed not to get, since I don't have a Nordstrom card (surprising right?) So I had to wait, I did wait up till midnight, had everything ready to go and didn't get Number 3...I was so bummed not to get that pretty sweater in that pink color, but I guess the jacket up above will suffice. I did get #1 and #2, but the #1 made my legs look funny, they were slightly too tall for my short legs, and #2, holy cow I did not read that they were 5.5" tall! I already had surgery on my ankle, as much as it pains me I have to return them, they are just not practical to wear with children and walking upright. Other things I got, Mr. hated and thought they were too big. In general he doesn't like when things are super big on me...boo. I liked this shirt, but he said NO way!

I also got my sister and Mom something, but they occasionally read the blog, so in order to surprise them they'll just have to wait to find out!

OH and Mr. sent me this picture with the caption...Intervention? Oops!

Legoland last weekend was a BLAST! I took the kids on Thursday and met up with my cousin, who was spending two nights there, we went home on Thursday night and came back Friday ready to spend the night at the hotel, my review here, and go for another round.

Thursday

We also went to the water park, which I didn't take any pictures because...well water and I don't have a water proof camera.  But for the most part I think if your kids aren't over 48 inches it's not really worth it...if you are shorter you have to wear a life jacket (which probably doesn't fit) in the fun parts and the other parts that don't require it are so crowded that little kids just get lost in there. I would feel more comfortable taking an older child.

We're watching the 4D Lego movie. The kids loved it.

Friday

All the little cousins together again.

The older cousins, plus a baby.

OH and in case you wanted to know the new ride Ninjago...went on that 6 times...over the course of the 3 days. And I was a winner 6 times...that's me on the bottom right photo.

This is what happens when Mr. is in charge...he shoves as many kids on a small stroller as possible and runs around like a maniac.

Oh and in case you were wondering, we were all there to celebrate my cousin's little girls 6th birthday.  So happy we could all go and help celebrate.

Much need night out with this girl...so many laughs and three hours later I'm recharged and ready to tackle life again.

Who's excited for the Olympics? The human interest stories are my favorite and I cry almost every time.

I'm fairly certain all weekend and for the coming couple of weeks we'll be glued to our TV. We just love every part of it, and if we didn't have to adult we would stay up all night watching all of it, even the quarter finals for skeet shooting, cause we're weird like that.

Are you as excited as we are? Happy Olympics watching weekend!

Flowy Skirt and Hair Challenge Week 31

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! Today I'm back with another look with one of my favorite skirts, click here for how I styled it last month. This time I'm styling it with my favorite jean vest.

I just love how flowy this skirt is and how you can dress it up or down depending on your accessories.

I did my hair super easy, just braided and tied back.

This week I actually did my hair! Amazing...

I saw Carylee do this to her first day hair, and I liked it so much better than just putting it back. I liked that it had a little swoop to the side.

I saw this pony tail on Cute Girls Hairstyles and thought this would be perfect for a hot day at LEGOLAND.  Although seeing myself in some picture I should have loosened it a bit up top so I don't look like alien head...oh well, at least it was off my back.

Monday I had 3rd day hair so I need to braid it back a little, boy I look tired.

Tuesday, now it was 4th day hair, so I threw it up into a half top knot, this is quickly becoming my favorite hair style. I got the tutorial from Ellie.

That's it for the week. I hope you join along with us for our summer series, Pick, Pair, Share! Can't wait to see what you all come up with!

What's In My Make-Up Bag

Hello Foxy Make-Up Friends! I'm back over sharing what's in my life with some of The Blended Blog Ladies...this time it's what's in my Make-Up bag. If you're coming from The Blended Blog, thanks for stopping by! So the prompt says make-up bag, but I have a few drawers and a caddy, and don't really carry a make-up bag. So here is my stash.

What you believe that I didn't really get into make up until last year? True story, I decided that I've worked on my accessories, then my wardrobe and the next thing was going to be to conquer make-up. I found YouTubers that has my same eye shape and watched a TON of videos, practiced when the kids were in the bath and then asked them how it looked. Let me tell you it probably took 2 months to actually get the cat-eye down. And even more time to get fake eyelashes down. Another post in itself. Anyway...let's get to the actual reason to this post.

So here is my bathroom sink.

My make up stays in the middle three drawers.

Oh wait, let's open them for you...welcome to my make-up stash.

I did buy these with my own money, but linked products are affiliates and I will receive a small commission if you click on it. Thank you for your support!

So the last drawer is some of my hair stuff, but it looked funny when I just opened two drawers...Let's start with the left drawer.

Primer - I mostly use my Painterly Pot from MAC // Eyelashes - I almost always use Ardell 120 // Eyelash glue - I have a latex senstivity so I use a latex free from Revlon // Finishing Powder - I use NYX, although I don't really see a difference? // Extras - I didn't mention the eyeliner I use. I use two Urban Decay Pencil and Stila Liquid Eyeliner

And now the middle drawer.

You wonder why I have a make up caddy on top of my sink? Well that is the stuff I use on the daily...let's take a closer peak.

And if you were curious, which I'm sure you're not, but I like to overshare, if I do go somewhere I will typically pack my make-up bag with these things...ask Alison...she can vouch, we shared a room in Vegas, haha! I think I can say she was stunned at how much I traveled with. Hey a girls got to be prepared. Although I don't typically travel with everything in category 1 and 2, just one of them depending on where I am going.

Hope you liked taking a peek into my make-up stash. So what's a favorite in your stash I need to know about? Now head on over to Andrea to see what's in her make up bag.

Christmas In July with The Blended Blog

Hello Foxy Friends! I have a great way to start off a Monday morning...it's The Blended Blog Christmas Exchange. What better way to start off a Monday? We use Elfster, have you used that before? I've used that for several different groups of friends, it's super easy and the computer tells you who is exchanging with who, super easy.

This time I drew Nicole, I was super excited because Nicole has been working super hard with her weight loss journey and I was happy that I could help her celebrate by sending her some fun things. Go check out her blog to see what I got her!

Now onto mine. The sweet Lana from the Pacific Northwest drew me. I just adore Lana and her family and how cute they all are. Her boys are doing fantastic and I hope that I raise my kids to be just like hers, they are the sweetest boys. Can you say that about boys, shhh, don't tell them I said that.

Anyway, I opended up the package and everything was wrapped! How cute and in fun floral prints.

After opening them I found these wonderful things.

The card was just too sweet.

The local made soap, oh my goodness I wish you could all smell how heavenly it smells! Seriously! I can't wait to start using it!

And the jam, yum! I haven't opened it yet, Deena sent me some of her local jam and we're still going through that, but as soon as it is gone, this is being opened STAT! Oh and I'm not sure if you knew Lana but Strawberry Jam is my favorite!

And the necklace, so stinkin' cute, what more is there to say?

Now go check out what everyone else exchanged!
