My Top 5 Pictures

Back again linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell, this time we're showing our top 5 photos...or 10 or however many if we can't decide. I think I'm going to do my top 5 before Mini Fox, and then My Top five as a family of 4, it's just too hard to choose!

ONE

With our 12 year anniversary coming up, I can't help but remember our wedding, and my favorite photo taken that day.

TWO

I could have chosen our first photo of us as a family of 3, but nope, this one takes the cake. I can't help but laugh every time I see it. Baby Fox had issues with food and not wanting to eat it. When we tried food at 6 months, we tried everything. He had so many food faces that he made while trying new food. This is him trying carrots for the first time. I basically had the camera in one hand and food in the other and hit the shutter button at the same time I fed him the food. I didn't realize how awesome it turned out until I downloaded them.

P.S. He had so many food faces we made a whole book of them. For example:

Did even want to try this...pushing our hand away, lol.

BONUS

This is a runner up, but couldn't help but add it. My grandfather had just passed away and we were gathering after the funeral at my parents house and Baby Fox just knew that she was feeling sad and gave grandma a big wet slobbery kiss, which up until this point he had never done before. He gave her several kisses and it just made my grandma's heart sore knowing that it was his first kiss and that Grandpa was probably making it all happen.

THREE

There is just something about the way they are looking at each other that melts this Mama heart.

  FOUR

FIVE

My last picture with Baby Fox before I gave birth to Mini Fox. This was probably 3 hours before Mini Fox came, it was a whirl wind of a birth and the very next day he was a big brother.

Now onto pictures after Mini Fox was born:

ONE

Our first picture as a family of four. Baby Fox was so enamored with his baby sister and immediately asked if we could take her home that minute. And he's been smitten every since.

TWO

Mini Fox was not in a smiling mood this day, but I just love the pure look of joy on Baby Fox's face. We may or may not be doing some beach pictures again this year.

 | THREE |

The love these two share is unbelievable. I love their relationship, and can only hope that it continues as they get older.

FOUR

Our very first airplane ride family vacation and it could not have gone any better! The kids did great and had a blast and are continually are asking when we can go back.

FIVE

I know we used a different photo for our Christmas Card this year, but this picture was my favorite. The photographer told me and Mr. to kiss, and this is what the kids did...I just melted when I saw this picture.  It's a little blurry, but I don't care, it is just too cute and I love everything about it.

Okay so that was 10 11, but I couldn't help myself. I realize now looking back at them that they might not be the best pictures or photography out there, but the meaning behind them makes them so special to me.  Hope you didn't mind!

Kylie Cosmetics Valentine and Velvet Lip Kit Review

I'm going to go ahead and blame Christy for my obsession. I don't even want to count how many I have now. This time last year I was blissfully unaware of what I was missing...and now...I need them all. I wish I was kidding.

Anyway, another friend mentioned that Kylie Cosmetics was coming out with a Velvet line, which of course I had to buy. I set my alarm to be at my computer at 3pm...I actually remembered and got two of them! I felt like the other two colors wouldn't look good on me. So I scored, Rosie and Harmony. Then I had also bought the Valentine's Lip Kits when they came out as well in February, or was it January? Anyway, thought I would swatch all 4 of them. The only color that isn't available is the Valentine color, but the other three you can still get...so what are you waiting for? Go grab one for yourself!

Valentine

Which one is your favorite? I think I like Velvet Rosie the best.

Friday Favorites #109

Happy Friday Foxy Friends. We made it! Feels like the longest week ever...I've been in a little bit of a funk this week, mostly annoyed with people. Is that possible, to just be annoyed. Actually it's more like a few people that are being selfish and dumb...anyway, let's forget about that and concentrate on my favorite things this week.

In case you missed it this week on the blog:

Monday: Three tips to balancing work and home life
Tuesday: Let's catch up
Wednesday: White pants and bright colors

Video of the week is an easy style for dirty hair, using your new found skill of braid pancaking from last week.

Next week I'm showing two different ways I curl my hair.

Last weekend MIL came to visit and help celebrate Mr.'s birthday, it's the birthday that keeps on giving. We are celebrating again this weekend with some friends and then the weekend after that with my aunt and uncle. Anyway, Friday was low key we got Mexican take out and I discovered I don't particularly care for fish tacos, although it was probably the fish because it was dry and I had nothing to put on it besides fish and tortilla.

When MIL comes into town the kids love that I have to sit between them. Everyone else went into Starbucks and I didn't want to crawl out of the small space I was sitting between the two carseasts, so Mini Fox stayed with me...perfect time for some selfies right?

Yes she is upside down.

And of course a cake pop after breakfast is totally normal, especially when Grandma is spoiling them rotten.

Mini Fox also started soccer and it was pretty much the cutest thing ever.

This was the first play of the game. Coach told her to stand right there...so she did.

At the same time Baby Fox was over at a different park doing his baseball thing. Coach giving them an after game pep talk.

We pretty much always celebrate new beginning of anything with some Yogurtland...yum!

Decorating for Easter. We went to Home Goods to get some hangers and as we're standing in the impoosibly long line I see a lady with a grass box, and I thought, I need one too, where did you get it, so  left the family, quickly ran and grabbed one in two seconds and was back in line. So happy I grabbed it, I love the way it looks, and will continue on for Spring and maybe even Summer. Now to work on my Easter wreath.

Linking up with The Blended Blog for some Friday Loves.

First up is a fellow Blended Blogger lady, Andrea, and man she has the BEST wardrobe! I seriously could just steal everything from her wardrobe! Those pink shoes, I think everyone needs a pair.

Lisa always comes up with the best save vs. splurge. Her picks this week were pretty awesome and I think I definitely need to get a leopard clutch.

I think Corina did a fabulous job with showing how to not be frumpy. She gave excellent examples with lots of pictures for those that need pictures. Everyone should go check it out, make sure you're not breaking any rules.

Some favorite videos I've been loving lately:

Say what? First that her kid can hold on, and that mom, amazing.

I blame my cousin, this is going to happen after Lent is over.

If only it were this easy...right? Also what donut is that hard, I'm thinking they had to have used stale donuts.

White Pants Are Back and Pancaking Small Braids

Happy Wednesday Foxy Friends! Spring has officially sprung and that means pastels and white pants are back right? Even though I love my dark colors,  there is just something about white that makes me happy. Adding some bright colors to white pants makes for such an easy outfit.

I love doing simple and easy hair styles to complete my outfits. It doesn't take much time on my side, but I think always makes an outfit more complete. This one I just twisted two sides of my hair and tied them in the back. Half up dos just scream Spring to me.

Another week of my Hair 101 series, last week I showed you how to pancake a braid. This week is part two, an easy style for your newly found pancake braiding skill. I do this hair style when I have dirty hair, and just want it off my face. It's one of the most basic hair styles you can do. I hope you enjoy!

Thank you for continually linking up. Click around and meet some new people!

Tuesday Talk: Let's Catch Up

Linking up with Ashley & Erika for...Tuesday Talk, where we get to talk about anything we want, hey I'm always up for talking about anything and everything.

I love a topic where we get to talk about anything and everything. This weekend was a blast, my Mother In Law came into town to help celebrate Mr. and it happened that the kids both had sports so she was able to catch both games. Of course the universe couldn't totally work out, and both kids games pretty much started at the same time. But we got her to both things, and she got to see them play, which made me happy.

Got a Kick out of this is a video of Mini Fox, the first kick off of the season, her very first time playing. The coach told her to stand right here, you know for the kick off...she took that literal and didn't move. It was the funniest thing ever! I can only imagine what it looked like live.

Happy about Spring, it's one of my favorite seasons of the year...mostly because we get lots of flowers blooming and pretty much always have something in the kitchen window.

We also get to start swimming...and this year I vow to get in the pool more.

Sad that my last allergy shot didn't go well...boo! I was on maintenance mode (meaning I only have to go in once a month, instead of twice a week), and I had a large reaction and now I have to go back to going a little more often...once a week, but still annoying as all get out.

This is about 10 hours after my shot and the itchiness lasted for about 10 days...not normal.  My other arm looked almost the same.

Happy that we've started going on double dates with people. We found a baby sitter we really like for when my parents can't help out and we're going out...woo hoo! We already have two more set up over the next few weeks.

A couple of weeks ago I was trying to get pictures of the kids in their Valentine's Day outfits (a little late, but needed to get it for the yearly calendar we give to the grandparents) and I have seriously never gotten so mad at Baby Fox. It was a rough day, then after that he was just being...arg! Sometimes this parenting thing is hard! See those two wet spots on Baby Fox's shirt? Yep where he wiped his tears...

Happy that I won't have to travel for work for a bit, at least I hope so, although I might have just jinxed myself...

Dreaming about going back to Utah to eat these donuts:

and see this view again:

Surprised that I still have 14 teams in out of 16 for my March Madness pick...how did that happen?

Annoyed at having to organize the messed up legos  sets...can I tell you how annoying it is to find one small round piece in that pile? At least Baby Fox and Elsa helped me a bit.

Grateful that this list contains more happy things then sad and unhappy things. What's been going on in your world?

Three Tips to Balancing Work and Home Life

Before I start, go check out my post on The Blended Blog about being adopted and the most frequently asked questions I get.

Today I'm linking up with Shay and Erica for Workin' It Wednesday: this time we're talking about Balancing work/home life. This topic is so hard, trying to balance work and home life. Obviously you're working to provide for your family, but you don't want to work too much, so that you miss out on the everyday life. So here are my three tips to balance those two things in your life:

ONE

I leave work at home. I know I have it easier than most, but when I leave work I don't think about it, I don't ponder what happened at work, what I should have done different, who I should have talked to, who I need to email, etc, you know the list could go on forever. My mentality is that work will still be there when I am come back. The work/emails/phone calls will still be there, no on is going to die. I don't work in an E.R. where it is actually life and death. So unless someone is going to die, it can wait till tomorrow.

TWO

Enjoy the family time, I try to not be on my phone when we're doing things with the kids. While it's nice to constantly post to FB, IG, Snapchat, etc, I want to see the things happen in real life and take pictures, but I do not have to post to social media in that moment. I can do that when the kids are in bed.

 THREE

I take personal time off of work for the important things for the kids. I know not everyone can do this, but I will take days off of work or work half days so that I can go to all of the school functions for the kids. I know it's hard to do sometimes, but when and if I can I make an effort to do so. I know how much it meant to me as a kid to look up and see my mom or dad standing there in the audience.

Bonus

I do admit we other people help us out around the house, pool guy, gardener, someone cleaning. Our thought is, we don't have much time to spend after work and on the weekends, we don't want to spend it doing those things. Time with the kids is too precious. Plus knowing us, it would never get done. Keeping it real here.

That's how I balance my work and home life. What do you do to help balance it all?
