Friday Favorites #120

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! I hope you all had a good week. Mine seemed long, but it's okay, it's the weekend and we have lots of fun things planned.

In caesd you missed it on the blog this week:

Monday: My Month in Numbers
Tuesday: 10 Things I Want To Try
Wednesday: Camo and Coral and Currently
Thursday: The Struggle Is Real

Sitting in impossibly long traffic. Once we got off of the freeway it took another 20 minutes before we got to the parking lot, then we had to walk up to the Hollywood bowl, and then wait in a line to go through security, another 20 minutes...boo, but we did finally get there!

I had to document the BEST parking spot ever. Because the Hollywood Bowl has so many people, and not a lot of space they do stack parking in every parking lot. It NEVER works out that I'm the first car, and the exit was just to the left, where the cars are parking perpendicular to that first row, score!

I've known this girl since Kindergarten. Crazy to think that some of the kids Baby Fox is meeting right now might still be friends 31 years later.

The two girls on the outsides, I've known since 7th grade. So happy we are still getting together and having fun.

We missed most of Boyz II Men, but we caught all of Paula Abdul...yep can still sing to all of her songs.

The whole reason we went to the show....

They did not disappoint, and we sung and screamed like kids again to all of the classics. Driving 4 hours to get there to spend some time with the girls, totally worth it.

In other life happenings.

Saturday was a busy day, we spent the morning at the gym, and then headed to the Little League field to do the closing ceremonies only to find out that they did it sooner than the schedule said, but they still had the bounce houses out and they couldn't wait to go running to play on it. That took up  good 2 hour chunk.

Afterwards we went to a birthday party for a good friend and this was the cake. How awesome is that? Mini Fox asked if that was a real soccer ball in there, it wasn't, but it sure did look like it!

That popcorn right there, so good, I have no idea where it came from but I might have brought home two of the caramel corns to eat later.

I got to snuggle this girl lots. While her parents did party things/rounding up kids, Mr. and I switched off holding her. She's the cutest.

The party was an indoor soccer place, the kids had a blast!

They even rented out the field next to the older kids for the younger kids to play on..Mini Fox all ready to play soccer, but there wasn't too much soccer happening, mostly a lot of cone playing and building.

Party room, we could barely pri the kids away from the field to do dinner and cake.

This kid didn't have fun at all, can you.

Sunday Mr. had to work all day, so I took the kids to Legoland with a friend.

We just turned this girl around on Saturday after we got back from the party. She is super stoked to be facing forward, only took us 3 years and 9 months. It's so weird being able to see her cute little face, but man she asks a lot of questions now that she can see everything, and not just the back of the seat.

Turns out it was Star Wars Days and all of the characters were walking around all day. It was super fun for the kids and they had a lot of activities to do that they don't normally have. Bahahah, I just noticed Baby Fox is playing with the gum in his mouth, crazy kid.

We just finished a Family Lego building contest...didn't win, but they did take pictures of the kids to potentially use for promotional stuff for next year's Star Wars Days, I'll let you know if I see anything.

The best thing about being a parent is that when you want ice cream you call it a treat for the kids, you get awesome mom credit at the same time you get ice cream that you really wanted. This is the first time we've gotten this ice cream and man it was good! They swirl in syrup on the outer edge of the ice cream swirl, holy cow it was good and we will be getting this every time we go.

Tuesday Baby Fox had an awards ceremony, he got the Principal of Respect award, such a sweet boy.

The kids weren't allowed to move from their chairs, so Mr. and I got down on the floor so we could get a picture with him.

Wednesday we headed to the gym and girl says, Mama take a picture because you can finally SEE me and I don't have to raise my arms so people know I'm in the car, lol.

Yesterday was the start of swim lessons. They are too cute. Both of them did great. Considering it's Mini Fox's first real lesson that isn't survive the pool lessons, she did great!

Linking up as usually with The Blended Blog for a little blog love from around the web.

I loved Cara's post on Monday that put into words what so many of us Mother's are thinking. We are excited for our kids to grow up to become independent adults, but on the same  hand we want to remember every single little thing that happens. Go read her post and just soak it all in.

Loved this wreath that XX made from 99 cent hair ties, what? So creative...you have time to make one, now go make one!

I randomly came upon this YouTube video..perhaps this should be in #5 below, but it's sharing someone else's content, so I figure it belongs here. Anyway, Brianna put together this AWESOME video on how to do your eye make up. I even learned  thing or two, like putting down a shadow base the same color as your skin after your primer so that the other colors will blend. If you are wanting to learn to do  your eye make up better, watch this! She even breaks down the colors and brushes and shows you comparisons which most youtubers don't do.

Now for some videos around the internet world I've been loving. This girl, wow. She's deaf and singing...she's amazing, go watch her story.

For a smile for your Friday.

The Struggle Is Real

It's another Show and Tell Tuesday with Andrea, today's topic is The Struggle is Real. So many ways to take this. I'm always interested in how other people take this topic. Today I'm going to get real with you.

I hate bath time with a passion. I am the worst mother when it comes to bath time, why don't they ever listen to me?

Seriously, Baby Fox will not eat pizza, what is wrong with this kid? Especially when I get coupons like this. Man I have a week to use this...panic!

I own a house with a pool, yet I don't like being cold, hence I don't want to go in.

I can't wear pants to the gym, so I have to wear shorts, but the wedge-y situation is out of control...doing burpees forget about it.

Losing those last 5 pounds is super hard, especially when you just want to eat all of the donuts and ice cream.

Waking up at 4:15am sucks, why can't I just be rich and not have to work?

Need to go to Target to get a birthday gift...see you $100 later.

Okay I just dished, now you dish something.

Camo and Coral

Hello Foxy Friends! Today I have a two for one. While we were in Toronto and walked a bazillion miles looking at everything Toronto I had a chance to take some photos of my outfit. So get ready to see some photos that are NOT my backyard, I know you're jumping for joy too.

These pants arrived Wednesday before I left for Toronto, and when I put them on I knew I had to work it into my wardrobe. I was going to link them, but it looks like they are all sold out, boo!

and of course I had to do a jumping picture in front of a graffiti wall.

Linking up with Anne from Anne In Residence and her monthly currently where she gives you the topics to talk about. This month her guest host Erin, okay let's get to the topics

By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

Planning: Currently planning a Mom's Night Out for tomorrow. It got postponed from last week to this week, and now it's turning out that many can't come till later, so I'm thinking about pushing it back 30 minutes. Other then that, not planning much.

Wishing: That I had more vacation time to spend with the kids this summer, but alas I don't, stupid corporate world, not giving us enough vacation time, but I am glad that we have some fun things planned for this summer.

Learning:  How to use my new Cricut. I have several projects I want to do but using new software freaks me out, so I've been avoiding it.

Browsing: All of the fashion things. I mean as soon as I put a self imposed shopping ban on...I find all the things I want. Like this, this and this

Going: To swim lessons. Usually we take the school year off and then start back up for the summer. My mom was a genius and said, why don't you make their lessons for after Baby Fox's karate class, so he'll go to Karate and then swim lessons right after. Perfect timing. I hope Min Fox learns lots. She's pool safe, but she doesn't know any strokes or anything. Baby Fox knows the basics to most of all of the strokes, but we'd like him to become a better swimmer. I think I might be the only parents that sits there and watches the entire lesson. I like to know what they are capable.

Now link up your outfit posts below!

10 Things I Have Always Wanted To Try

When I saw Becky do this, I knew I had to participate in it too. Each month there is a topic to discuss and it's numbered, there is nothing better then that. Seriously, here are the topics for the rest of the year. Okay so I'm a little early on this one, but better early than never? Right? Thanks Erin for hosting.

I guess since this is a list I'll just go ahead and make it in list form.

  1. I have always wanted to learn another language. The problem with this is I think there are people in the world that can learn another language and then there are others that cannot, no matter how hard I try...I feel like I am in the latter half. One day maybe, but for now I'll just dream about it.

  2.  I would like to one day live somewhere other than California for a bit. Whether it be 2 or 3 months or a year, whatever it is, I have lived in Southern California my entire life, it would be nice to change it up a bit.

  3. Visit Paris, actually this might be more of a Baby Fox thing, but sometimes your kids dreams become your own. I will make this happen for him.

  4. I have always wanted to go sledding. I know, I've never been sledding before. Seems like fun, I think I'd like it.

  5. Learn to ride a unicycle. I have no why I want to do this, but I have always wanted to do this, although it seems dangers/accident induced, will probably land me in more physical therapy if I do attempt this. This one might be best left as a wish instead of an actual do.

  6. Cliff jump. When I was little we went to Hawaii, but I was only 9 and my parents wouldn't let me cliff jump. It's the little things right?

  7. Visit something of substance in every state. I don't mean, yea we drove through it, but a legit visit to do something.

  8. This one might help with my #7, but I want to take an RV, my family and go across crountry. Maybe take the lower half on the way there and then the upper half on the way back. Now that I'm thinking about it, perhaps we will make it two trips, one trips there, then fly home and then another trip the other way...hmm...wonder how long that would take to do. Lots of planning I know that.

  9. I want to try paddle boarding. I think it looks so fun, and a really good workout. First I need to get over my intense fear of the ocean. Rather any water that I can't see the bottom...maybe just thinking about it is making my hands sweaty.

  10. Last but not least, it's just the one I thought of last, man this is harder than I thought it would be. Oh I know...I want to be able to make my own clothes. I can do quilts and small projects, but I want to make a legit dress, come up with a design, and just make it. How cool would that be? Once I made these...does that count?
Do what is on your list? If you want to join Erin, here are the dates and subjects below.

My Month in Numbers: May Edition

Today I'm linking up with Deena for my month in numbers. If you want to see my previous months, click here. Let's get to it.

2 - Double dates. Crazy that they both happened in the same week within three days of each other. The 1st one was totally random, but super fun seeing a friend sing with a live band and the second was to see a jazz concert.

3.5 - The number of days I was in Toronto with some of The Blended Blog ladies!

One of my favorite pictures. What I love about traveling with bloggers is that you tell them a crazy idea about doing a Beattles picture, and they get in line do what you say and you're out in less than a minute.

1 - Mom's Night Out, were we tried an Escape room didn't escape, but it was super fun trying.

2 - Physical Therapy sessions, down from 4-5, which is great, I am about 95% healed, which is great in my book.

1 - Cousin party, I love that my kids are getting to grow up with my cousin's kids and they all LOVE hanging out and they all get along.

14 - The number of The Blended Blog Ladies. So excited to welcome Shelly to the group. If you haven't check out her blog you NEED to right now, she is one amazing lady.

2 - New post being replaced at our house. At least our house won't fall down in an Earthquake, that's always a bonus. Just kidding, it would be that bad, I'm being dramatic.

1 - Yellow belt received.

60 - About the number of hours I spent in the car or a bus driving this month, at least the bus trip I was with good friends. The rest, not so much. Boo!

And on that depressing note, I think I'm done for the month, hehe. Hope you all had a good weekend, and go give Shelly some love and tell her I said hi!

Friday Favorites #119

Happy Friday! Today is a very happy day because why? I'm going to the Hollywood Bowl to see NKOTB, Boyz II Men and Paula Abdul, so, so excited, except maybe the 4 hours it's going to take to get me there, but whatever! I'll be with friends half of the time. I'll post some stuff on IG stories, so follow along. I would say snapchat, but I have no idea how to use it. Sorry Sheila, you can't teach this dog new tricks.

In case you missed it this week:

Monday: Summer Plans
Wednesday: Fashion Files + What's Up Wednesday
Thursday: Sentence A Day

Join us for Sentence a Day, it's the 2nd of June, start writing your sentence, and link up with us on July 6th!

Last weekend was a busy but fun one. Mr is taking his second to last class for his MBA, he decided to take a 4 week class, so he's squeezing a semester worth of info into 4 weeks, talk about crazy. But it will be done and over with. Saturday I took the kids out all day. We went to the gym, then went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Mini Fox likes the kids meal still, and we usually get ice cream with it, but she decided to keep these fun things instead. And then because I had bought Baby Fox an ice cream cone, I had to go buy her one too because she decided not to trade in her toy for ice cream. Did you know you could do that?

Can you tell Mini Fox is actually rawring behind her mask.

Then we headed to Costco, got some samples and some stuff we probably didn't need, but need to think of ideas to keep us out of house for the day. Anyway, then we headed home for a quick minute to drop off the Costco stuff and were going to meet up with some friends to go a gymnastic place, but turns out it was closed, so we headed to a park instead. And followed that up with Cheesecake Factory. I'm on this new thing, I'm going to stop shopping until I lose these last 5 pounds, so I was good and ordered something off the skinny menu, insert sad face. But you guys shopping...I need to get back to shopping by the Nordstrom July sale...so I have 7 weeks to loose 5 pounds, I can do it!

Afterwards we walked around the mall and found this display, and hey he's having a Minion party this month, so it was perfect. He would not smile, he said well I'm in jail, I'm not suppose to be happy, haha.

She of course followed suit.

We promised the kids Dave and Busters, which for the record don't go at 7pm on a Saturday. If i never went back I would not miss it. But I think it would be fun during the day, but man it's expensive. We had a gift card from a friend, and then someone randomly gave us the rest of their card when they left, it had about 5 games left on it. The kids had fun and walked away with a toy each from the ticket prizes.

Mini Fox might have lost two balls to other lanes, oops!

Sunday was a super lazy morning, I did my workout in the morning (Dirty Thirty from 21 day fix for the win), and then after lunch we headed out to my cousins for a Cousin Memorial Day Party. I love my cousins and am loving that we no longer are dependant on our parents to get us together, that we continue to see each other 4-5 times a  year, in case you wanted to know I have 9 Cousins (there are 12 including myself and my siblings and 19 including spouses), and between us we have 13.5 kids (ages range from 10 years old - 9 weeks), one of my cousins is due in November. Phew that was a mouth full. Anyway, we got together on Sunday and the kids had a blast.

Cause what's a party without a bounce house? Plus it lets us adults get to catch up, win-win.

Gotta get one with everyone in it. Yep I travel with my tripod and wireless remote to all cousin parties.

What's a picture without getting a silly one too?

By the time we got home this one knocked out, I love sleeping kid pictures. Yep she's 3.5 and still backwards, one of these days we'll flip her. Especially when it starts getting super hot out, it's hard for the air conditioning to get to her.

Monday was another low key morning. We were going to just have my parents over, but last minute we got invited to a friends house and since Mr. was studying and watching the Brisket in the smoker, we left to go hang with them for a bit. Didn't get a picture of the kids, but did get one with the Mommy's. Love these ladies.

Then my parents came over and they went swimming while I watched because brrrr.....

Dinner was delicious, and I made angel food cake and creme brulee for dessert, double yum!

Perfectly smoked Brisket, Mr. already knows the changes he's going to do for the next round, and the left overs have been making amazing BBQ sandwiches on the Kings Hawaiian rolls.

I'm excited to link up again this month with Kristin from Taz and Belly for her Little Letters series and bring you a few little letters...

Dear Toronto, you were amazing and treated us well, even though you rained a bit, I still loved every bit of visiting. Although mostly probably had to do with the company, in any case, thanks for showing us a good time.

Dear Target, You are amazing. I caught the $1 spot when you had freshly put out your 4th of July things and I might have gone a bit on the crazy side. My hubby might hate you but I will never, could never hate you, I love everything about you.

Dear My Kid's Elementary School, why oh why do you plan for an awards ceremony at 10am? Why not at the beginning of the day, so that the kids who have working parents can attend and still go to work? You made my son panic that we wouldn't be able to go because so many of his classmates parents cannot go. Which makes me feel super sad that they can't.

Dear Work, thank you for being so understanding with all of my kids school things and letting me work from home on those days.

Dear Poutine, I'm sorry but I'm not in love with you. It's not you it's me. Or is it?

Dear Weight, please come off quickly. I am making a public announcement now to keep me accountable that I will lose 5 pounds and will not shop until I do (not including necessities like food). A girl has got to have some sort of motivation and if shopping can't do it, no one will.

Dear Credit Cards, enjoy this time off. It won't be long before you are being used again.

Dear Sprouts, I love that you are remodeling, but every week you move everything and it's taking me twice as long to get through the store because things aren't even in the same place twice. Please finish so I can resume my regular shopping experience. P.S. you are looking really nice.

Linking up with The Blended Blog for some around the internet blog love.

First up is Tif, she wrote a from the heart piece about being a working mom. Man, I just kept nodding my head in agreement, I feel and have felt everything she is talking about in this post. Go check it out and realize that we all feel the same. Even if it looks like they have it "all together".

Oh my gosh, you guys have GOT to go check out Caroline's home renovation, her and her husband Aaron did most of the work, and the kitchen floating shelves, swoon. Come on, genius how they did it! Go check out her full house tour, you're going to be drooling over everything just as I was.

I love the words that Will Smith says in this video. He encourages you to go out and not be afraid because the best things in life are on the other side of fear. Must remember this lesson, as so much of life we don't do because we are afraid.

This got me all teary eyed, their tag line "Because your normal might be their Magic" Watch it, maybe with some tissue close by.

What? Why am I always the last to know, but Pitch Perfect 3, yes!
