My New Years Resolution

Happy Monday Foxy Friends! Today on The Blended Blog it's all about New Years resolutions. I know 2 weeks late, but better late than never right? Anyway, I never like to think of them as resolutions, rather goals. Like I try to pick a goal that I want to accomplish that year. For example, 2012 I decided I wanted to try and wear jewelry, I never wore it before then. 2013, was the year Mini Fox was born and quite frankly I was so sick all the time I could barely function, so let's say 2013 was they year I tried to function as adult and parents a 2 year old.

2014 was the year I was going to revamp my wardrobe, that's when I discovered Alison and Get Your Pretty on Style Challenge (affiliate link), and it changed my life. Seriously, if you need to figure out a new style and want to try things outside the box and have someone tell you how to dress, Alison is your lady. Anyway, this is where I started and this was my last outfit post of 2017.

2015 was the year I wanted to figure out make up, I had no idea how to put it on, I could do lipstick, that was it. The end of 2014, hey i got some bright lipstick on...and barely there eye shadow, but it's better.

Taken at the end of 2015, funny enough I do believe that happens to be the same skirt from above, LOL. Funny how that happened. Anyway, it's a bit blury, but there's some fake lashes and the eyeliner is better.

Each year just gets better, I learn more and get better, the end of 2016.

End of 2017.

2016 was the year I wanted to learn how to do my hair. These were one of my favorite hair styles.

2017 was the year I wanted to organize my house. Which I did, and then never blogged about. I promise it happened. I am in the process of organizing my pantry, which I will have a post sometime in the next couple of weeks. I am waiting for some containers to arrive from Container Store, such a bummer when are you so close to the finish line but don't have what you need...ugh.

Okay finally at 2018 goals. If you are still with me, thank you. This year I decided I wanted to be a little more flexible and be able to let go and get out of my head. I am CONSTANTLY thinking, always have a plan in my head of what to do next. I wanted to try and start practicing Yoga, to a) help me get flexible b) help me get out of my head. So my plan is to do this 30 days of beginning yoga, and then maybe continue on that playlist I have. We'll see, but I found a few flexibilty YouTube videos that I will try out, will let you know.

Day 1 and Mini Fox wanted to do it with me, she lasted about 10 minutes. It was super cute.

Unfortunately we are 14 days in and I was only able to complete 5 of the days until I hurt myself really band and rendered both hand useless. wahh! I thought I was okay Friday, but tried to do a simple downward dog and...nope not yet. So hopefully in the next week I'll be able to pick back up and get back on the train. And no more Hoverboarding for me...

So link up your resolutions below!

Also linking up with Shay and  Erika for another random discussion. Last year they did a Workin' It them, and this year they are doing How We theme. I love it. I'm a week late, but hey better late than never!

Friday Favorites #146

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! I have today off and I think I might be cleaning out my pantry today. I was hoping my Container Store stuff would arrive in time, it says by Friday night, so let's hope UPS is accurate! Hoping to still feel motivated...I can do this, it really needs it...BAD! Alright onto my Friday Favorites.

In case you missed it this week:

Monday: TBB Asks - January Edition
Tuesday: 10 Random Facts About Me
Wednesday: "Wines Well With Others Sweater"
Thursday: Boxy Charm Subscription Unboxing

I also did filmed a video of me unboxing and showing you what everything looked like in my Boxy Charm.

Yep if you look closely that box is upside down, but didn't realize till I edited it...oops! Just go with it.

When Mini Fox goes over to visit my family she likes to watch YouTube videos with my sister. Of course my sister is right there monitoring what she's watching, but one day Mini Fox says she wants to film a video, so I get my camera out and we film. I've edited it and I asked her if she wanted me to put it on my channel, just sent it out for family only, or did she want to start a YouTube Channel, she said YouTube Channel, so we are in the process of thinking of a name for her Channel, any thoughts or suggestions? Stay tuned for her video, it's the cutest thing ever.

This girl, she cracks me up.

Her fighting face.

I was taking some pictures of something and the kids wanted me to take pictures of them.

They were being Superman and Supergirl

Tree pose.

Each of them doing their version of a airplane pose.

Don't forget to go sign up for the Spread the Love gift exchange over on The Blended Blog. It's going to be super fun! Who doesn't like to get some mail? Meet new friends and join in on the fun! Follow this link to participate, you have until January 17th to join.

I seriously love this family so much. So sad to see them go, but can't wait to see what's in store for them next, obviously, the baby, but beyond that.

This is super sweet.

These are really cool, going to try these with the kids.

Boxy Charm Unboxing and First Impression

Hi Foxy Friends! Happy Thursday, in my case "Friday" because I have tomorrow off, woo hoo! It's nice not having to work every other Friday, who doesn't love a three day weekend? Anyway, my friends have been raving about Boxy Charm for the last year and I finally took the plunge and signed up. I was put on a waiting list, but wasn't on it long, I know one of my friends was on it for 5 months and the other was on it for about a month. It took me about a month, so who knows.

For those that don't know Boxy Charm, it's a beauty subscription service, that costs about $20 a month and you get 5 full size products, last months box was worth about $100. Here is my referral link, which gives me some credit to buy stuff from their shop, thank you!

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. Click here for my disclosure page.

So here is what you've been waiting for! What I got in my box, and what you get if you sign up too!

Let's break it down:

I got a bronzer

Blush Palatte

Mascara - This is worth $23! More than what I paid for the box!

Blush Brush

Lip Paint

Of course I did an unboxing video, so you can see what the inside of the products look like.

The Perfect Wine Sweater

Hello Foxy Friends! I feel like I am almost finally getting out of the vacation blues...granted I've been back at work for 1.5 weeks...I still feel like I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. But worry not I have the most fantastic outfit for you. It's something I made! Yep you read that right, I made this sweatshirt, and it's the most comfortable thing you've ever worn. Okay correction. I put the graphic on it, I did not actually make the sweater shape. I'm not that good.

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. Click here for my disclosure page.

I finally found a leopard flat replacement for the ones I have worn down to the ground! Rather I rubbed off all of the leopard on the toe, oops! Took me a couple of years, but I finally found a good replacement and they are comfy!

Similar jeans can be found here.

I'm just too excited not to share, I might have to make one in a short sleeve version so I can wear it come Spring.

I mean how awesome is this?

I made one for myself and then loved it so much that I made it for my friends too.

Seriously I wear this all the time. Sometimes I forget I have it on and wonder, why are people staring at me when I got out, then realize, oh yea, they are reading my sweater, and probably thinking...how can I get one too?! hahah.

I already have a list of other shirts that I want to make, why buy a graphic shirt/sweatshirt when you can make them yourself! Any graphic shirts I need to know about to make? I'm on a roll here!

10 Random Facts About Me

Last year I participated with Erin for 10th on the 10th and she's continuing it this year, click here for those posts. Well this year she has come up with 12 new topics that I hope to participate in as well!

So here are 10 random facts about me:

1.  I hate bananas, will not eat them, and will not eat anything with them in it. I think bananas ruin all food, it over powers anything they are in.

2.   If I could eat only one food (not dessert) for the rest of my life it would be a bean and cheese burrito. I love them so much.

3.  If I could only eat one dessert for the rest of my life it would be ice cream, if I had to pick a flavor it would be vanilla, I know so simple, but I don't think I would get tired of it.

4.  I get between 4-5 hours a sleep during the work week, I have no idea how I function, but somehow it all works out.

5.  I can't watch anything scary, my subconscious is very active and I'll have nightmares for months after watching a scary movie. I can't even watch Stranger Things, people say it's not scary, but it is, and we had to turn it off 1 minute into watching it.

6.  I have a lot of cameras and tend to buy a new one every 2 years or so, all of my cameras are made by Canon. I have my eye on this (affiliate, see disclosure here) one right now.

7.  I really dislike scrambled eggs, but if I have to eat them I like over easy, sort of, usually only eat eggs when I am on vacation... or when eating a Loco Moco. How do you eat your eggs?

8.  I got a degree in engineering by process of elimination, I didn't like anything else as much. I also got my Masters so that my kids could fill in the little bubble that says their mother has a masters because I want to really be a stay at home mom. (In case you wanted to know, I have my undergrad in Electrical Engineering and my graduate in Systems Engineering, but you probably didn't, but hey this is an about me post, so you're getting useless knowledge about me.)

9.  Mr. just learned about me a few months ago, see there are things you can still learn about each other after being together for so long. I love watching eating videos, like the ones where they eat 20 hamburgers in 3 minutes, or 10 gallons of ice creams, totally random, but I like watching them. I watch Matt Stonie videos the most.

10. I like writing with blue ink pens with a pen point of 0.7, and I don't like liquid pens, I like the old school blue pens with a sharp point. These (affiliate, see disclosure here) are my favorite.

If you want to join in the fun, here are the topics for the rest of the year.

TBB Asks: January Edition

Hello Foxy Friends! I know two posts in one day, crazy pants. But anyway, it's another first Monday of the month which means The Blended Blog is asking and we're all answering. Join us the first Monday of every month, look for the questions over on TBB the week prior.

1. Resolutions or No?

I would say I like to make goals, I never call them a resolution because typically I try to make it a new way of life, I try to pick one thing to work on, so I don't get overwhelmed. Obviously through the coarse of the year I add more, don't work on this goal all the time, but I want to try and be a better version of myself.

2014 my goal was to change my clothing style. I was typically wearing Ann Taylor Silk tanks (shell?) and a cardigan...I had them in 8-10 colors, seriously. All matching colored tanks and sweaters. It was an addiction, this was my very first outfit post...I've come a long way friends.

I'm embarrassed to post this picture.

2015 my goal was to learn make up, better. I had no idea how to apply it or what to do, I owned almost no make up, but this year I changed that and I continue to grow and learn more each year since.

I thought this was a lot of make up...haha. Little did I know.

This was taken a couple of weeks ago.

2016 my goal was to learn how to do my hair.

One of my favorites.

2017 was the year of house organization. For whatever reason I didn't really post about it, but I did organize. I organized several areas of my house and it has stayed the same since last year, so I consider that a success.

2018, this year my goal is to do more yoga/get more flexible, I can barely touch my toes people. A full post coming up on that in a couple of weeks, when I link up with The Blended Blog for a New Years Resolution Post on January 15th, feel free to link up with us!

2. Love snow or no snow?

Well I say love snow, but I don't live in it? I think it's super pretty. I might think differently if I lived in it, but for now, we'll say love. Especailly because usually when I am in snow it means that I am snowboarding.

3. Name a place you want to go this year?

We want to go to Hawaii, and then we're also hoping to get to Sedona. Fingers crossed they both happen!

4. New Hair cut or new hair color?

Hair cut, I have never colored my hair before...okay that is a lie. I did once, and it was about a 1/2" section near my neck. My roommate was bleaching a friends hair and we wanted to see what color mine would turn. It turned light tanish color in case you wanted to know. I thought for sure it would turn the orangy color, but it didn't. People kept asking me if it was a birth mark because it was this perfect tan color. Other then that no dye in this hair...long answer for a short question.

5. Name one thing you want to do for yourself this year?

I want to get pampered more, like getting my nails done, facials and getting my hair cut. Those things always take the sidelines when things get busy. I got my hair cut over the break, but the time I got my hair cut before that? Probably June....I also got my nails done during the break, but before that I can't remember the last time I went to the nail salon...so I want to take better care of me.

6. Least favorite thing about January?

Taking down Christmas decorations...makes the house feel so empty.

7. Most favorite thing about January?

The new year, a new start and feeling like I can accomplish anything!

8. When do you take down your Christmas decorations?

Well mine are still up...so there you go...haha. Usually the first or second weekend of January. Before kids the weekend after the new year, with kids, when I get around to it.

9. Do you diet in January?

Not always, but I feel like I'm always watching what I eat, so I guess that's my lifestyle?

10. What area of your home do you want to organize the most?

My pantry! Which by the way I'm going to organize this month! I hope to show you the results later this month, thanks to a YouTube collab and forcing me to get my butt into gear...or me accepting the challenge to get my butt organized...whatever...anyway, I organized my bathroom last December, so over a year ago, and I did a video and took pictures, but then never put together a post...perhaps you'd like that? Let me know!

11. Favorite Winter comfort food?

Pot roast and mashed potatoes.

12. Favorite guilty pleasure?

Napping. Does that count? I don't get to do it a lot, but when I can sneak one in, I do. I sneak up to my bedroom, lay down and sleep until some small human wakes me up.
