My Subtle Boho Look

Hi Foxy Friends! Today the prompt over on The Blended Blog is Boho...hmmm...my style really isn't Boho...so I'm going to make due with what I have in my closet...I just recently purchased this vest...I don't normally do vests, but it always look so cute on everyone, so I figured I would try it out.

Andrea picked Boho babes, a perfect category for her to pick for this week. For me though? Not so much...but I did recently pick up the vest, and I figure that is my most boho piece I own.

I picked up the shirt randomly at Nordstrom, when I was with Mini Fox returning something. I felt very Abbie, in that I saw it while walking towards the register, picked it up off the rack barely stopping to look at it and then kept walking. I did the same with this shirt too, styled here.

I always feel like pelpum tops make me look pregnant, I feel like this one doesn't, so that's a good thing. It makes me want to buy all the colors because it's so cute.

Believe Shirt

Hi Foxy Friends! Welcome to The Blended Blog Style. This week we decided to do a Christmas sweater theme. Unfortunately for me, I don't own a Christmas sweater, because #Californiaweather, some years it's 80° on Christmas day, so sweaters don't really do well here. Lucky for me, while shopping around for some Christmas shirts, I found a light weight long sleeve t-shirt, that was perfect! I do believe in the magic of Christmas!

Silly picture!

Thanks so much for linking up with us! Now show off your Christmas sweaters or shirts!

Faux Leather Jacket

One of my best blogger buds, Lisa from Daily Style Finds,  also a fellow The Blended Blogger, gave me this jacket. Like what? How did I get so lucky? Such an amazing friend and so generous. Anyway, it's from Forever 21, and it's sort of edgy/awesome/warm/awesome...did I mention awesome? Thank you Lisa for the jacket.

Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

Exact is not available but here are some similar here and here (in blue, cream and black).

I love the side detailing of the jacket.

There are so many ways that you can zip up the jacket, can change the whole look just how you zip it up.

A little half zip for you. Those buckles at the bottom, so darn cute.

If you are wondering, which you're probably not, but...my fake eyelashes are these and my lip color is the Kylie Cosmetic Lip Kit in Leo.

I tried on several necklaces, but because of all of the zipper details, I thought I would go with some great earrings.

This is definitely something outside of my comfort zone, so thank you Lisa for pushing me to try something new, and hey guess what? I like it!  What have you tried outside of your comfort zone lately?

Styling Outer Wear

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! 3rd week of our October series over on The Blended Blog. Week 3 brings to us coats and vests...I love me a good jacket and vest.

The problem...today is suppose to be 95° out...we're headed towards the latter half of October and we're still in the 90's. Luckily this will hopefully be the last little push of warm weather and then we'll be headed towards cooler temps. Last week it was 75 and I totally broke out the leggings and booties...

Here is what I want to be wearing, so come next week when the temps are low 70's, I might have to break this outfit out. This vest was from Old Navy last year, and it has a fleece lining...okay so maybe I won't be breaking this outfit out any time soon. But a girl can dream can't she?

I bought this jacket at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale back in July. I fell in love with that pink color and never looked back. Even though I need another jacket like I need a hole in my head...but hey it's pink, it has cute pockets and a nice line...what can I say I'm a sucker for a good jacket. Now...where to wear it.

I Just Want to Dance

I bought these pants at Old Navy for $10, how crazy of a good deal is that?! But one problem, they are too big...anyone know how to alter pants? You can't tell from the photos but they do have this flower print on them, in the same color as the pants, obviously, but it makes them unique...I'm determined to make these work and not spend a ton of money getting them altered. I figure I might try on my own since they were only $10, if I mess up it's not breaking the bank. Thoughts?

Sunday was the first day I was feeling okay from the flu, so I threw on some make-up and this outfit and there ya go. I was actually going to wear a different outfit that I found on pinterest, but I left my black blazer at work, so I couldn't recreate the outfit, darn! Maybe some other time...after I alter my pants. Hey I altered the shirt for my Halloween Costume...I can do it with pants too right? Right?

So funny how when I'm doing my make-up I feel like I am wearing so much, but then in picture it barely shows up...so when you see all these fashion bloggers and their make-up looks so great, they must have SOOO much on...crazy.

Love this necklace that I bought at Loft last month, on sale of course :)

Now on to some Dancing Stuff:

Quick note: The title of the post...back in 2005 we were at a wedding of a family friend. The night was dying down and we told my brother we were all leaving, he looks at us straight faced and says "but I just want to DAAAANNCCE!" and starts swaying back and forth, elbows bent...sort of like this, but way slower.

Back to my post:

My Mom loves dancing...Dad not so much. But for their 42nd wedding anniversary, my Dad bought my mom some ballroom dance lessons...and get this, he said he would be her partner. On Friday when they came over they wanted to show off their new skills. I don't think my mom's smile could get any bigger.

Next wedding they go to, they'll be tearing up the dance floor! You go parents!

This one is a quick one, but Mini Fox wanted in on the dancing action.

I think our girl was meant to dance. Ever since we turned on Angelina Ballerina she's been obsessed. Like the first 2 minutes of the show she's copying the dance moves on the show, she's a natural.

Some of her dance moves...everyone does their dance moves on the couch right?

This is turning out to be her signature move, she tilts like this and twirls in circles. Cutest thing EVER!

Any fun(ny) dance stories you want to share?

Week 2 of the Winter Style Me Challenge

Back for week 2 of the Style Me Challenge: Winter Edition.  Here are my Spring Style ChallengeSummer Style Challenge and the Fall Style Challenge if you want to see what else I've done. Here are last week's outfits.

Shopping my closet, I think I did pretty good this week, only a few substitutes. Here we go, be prepared for a lot of pictures.

Day 3

This day called for a poncho, but I don't own one, so I figured my bobeau wrap would have to do.

skinny jeans (Loft), Bobeau Wrap - Norstroms, Long Sleeve Tee - Target, Booties - DSW (old). Scarf - Target

and you knew there was one of these in there...

Day 4

When I came down with this outfit, Mr. said okay Mr. Lumberjack let's get this started. He might have a point, but I still love it, and it's so comfy. Comfy will win out every time.

Day 5

This outfit suggested a Fair Isle sweater, but a patterned sweater will have to do. I'm not sure if I am going to get a Fair Isle sweater, the one that I found that I really liked was $200, of course!

Day 6

This outfit called for a dressy sweater, I don't have one with jewels, but this one has sparkly thread it in, so that's close right? You can't really tell, and I should have take a picture of the diamond cut out in the back...This outfit called for grey jeans, but I thought that my grey slacks went a little better with this outfit.

Yep I'm hiding the remote clicker behind my neck in this one...haha

This necklace was made by a local teen who battle self injury for 13 years, and found an outlet through making wire jewelry and Wired for Freedom was born. She was at a fundraiser for another teen who is battling cancer, so I bought a few necklaces to help the cause. But I love it. She has no idea who I am, but I think she should be recognized for being strong and for finding something that makes her happy and helps to get her story out to let others know that they are not alone.

Day 7

Day 7 was one of our 4 dressy outfits. It called for a cable sweater...funny that I had a ton of cable sweaters back in high school, I got made fun of for wearing so many of them, I got rid of most of them at some point in college, and here they are making a come back after spending 10+ years of avoiding them. Everything comes back around I tell ya. I subbed the cable sweater for blazer since I didn't have anything else.

and I actually did my hair in a side bun...

side note: That necklace and earrings were from my prom outfit

Day 8

This outfit called for a fur scarf, but the fur scarf I bought I felt didn't really look good, so subbed it out for this crochet scarf. I love vests and I wear it at least once a week. Maybe I should get another color then I could wear them two days a week...

In case you wanted to know the eyelashes I'm wearing are Ardell Demi Wispies

Day 9

This is close to day 6, but it's jeans and boots and minimal jewelry, I love it, looks really put together, but is super comfy.

Now go check out some of my other Style Challengers and see their take on the same outfits.
