Sorry I've been MIA the past couple of weeks, I do have a good reason, just not ready to share just yet. Life has been busy, you know how it goes! I don't really have a post ready for today, but thought I would start a series of before and after pictures of our house. We randomly happened to stop by the house one day and saw that there was a SOLD sign up out front, the very next day the whole sign was taken down. So glad we happened to stop by that day.
I have to say that this picture makes the orange color house look GOOD, like seriously, people in the neighborhood called it the pumpkin house, we considered painting the trim green to really hone in on the pumpkin name since Halloween was in a month when we moved in, but opted to just paint the house a normal color.
The first day I drove home after painting the house, I actually drove past it since I was just used to looking for the orange house. Our neighbors next down, down the hill, almost did the same thing, just used to looking for the orange and turning at the house just before.
Suffice to say our neighbors LOVED us since the first thing we did, like the Monday after moving in, we painted the house a nice normal tan color.
If you think the outside was bad, just wait till you see the inside, it was like a rainbow threw up in there, no joke. Till then, hope you have a great weekend! My parents are headed down this weekend and we're going to a baby shower for a really good friend, so excited to help them celebrate their new little one to-be.

Weekend Recap
This weekend we went to visit my parents for my Mom's birthday. We were trying to decide what to do, and figured since we live SO close, like we can see it from their house close, we would go check out the Ronald Reagan Library. They have his Air Force One up there and we thought Baby Fox would get a kick out of it. We were right.
We weren't allowed to take any pictures once we got inside, but it was crazy to see how old everything was, and back in the day, that was the newest and best technology, yep that means a typewriter. There were some "laptops" that looked ginormous! I wonder what Air Force One looks like now. I'll recap the library later this week.
We got some lunch at In and Out and then headed back to the house for naps. Everyone took one, it was oh so nice. For dinner? We got some BBQ, and Baby Fox's favroite, ribs. Seriously this kid eats next to nothing, but can down a rib like no ones business! We told Baby Fox Grandpa went to go get the ribs when he woke up from his nap. So Baby Fox did what every 2 year old kid would do, waiting for him. Here:
And then when we told him he would be coming through the garage, he then waited here:
and then we went out in the garage and stood in the parking spot a few times too. This boy really wants his ribs!
Finally the ribs came and it was heaven on earth!
He ate 2 and then wanted dessert...ice cream of course (he got cold and wanted a shirt)
And then he did what ever kid would do in this situation after the ice cream was gone, downed another rib of course!
We headed home the next morning and just hung out, Mr. and Baby Fox went into the spa for a bit. Of course we watched the Super Bowl, Mr. getting good snuggles after Baby Fox's nap, so jealous!
And ate some carnitas...so good! Wasn't that ending crazy?! After the game Baby Fox decided to get a little crazy and put on every piece of accessory he owns...at once.
Doesn't everyone wear ducky feet, a cape, hat and gloves? Baby Fox says, just have a good time and wear what you want! If only we could all be so care free, our lives would be so much simpler right...
And that my friends, is our weekend in a nutshell.

1 Year and Still a Miracle
Last year for the Super Bowl, my aunt was sitting in a hospital room waiting for a heart. Note: Super Bowl Sunday has a large amount of car accidents. She got the call at 9pm, that someone in her area was a match and she was going to get a new heart! Had she gone into heart failure any other time of the year, she would have probably died due to lack of hearts. While it's sad that someone's family suffered such a great loss, I have to be happy that we got my aunt for more time.

Here she is at Thanksgiving 2012, 9 months later. Doesn't she look great?
And at my cousin's baby shower, 11 months post heart.

What Everyone Wants to See on Their Bill
We had our backyard re-done this past summer. Yep the hottest summer ever and our pool was being renovated...bad timing on our part. Our water people have this thing, where you can file a variance if you use more water then you're supposed to. When we filled our pool, we filled out a variance and they credited your account. Well after we filled the pool we had a leak and didn't know it. Each of us were filling up the pool, not realizing the other was filling it up. Bottom line we got a bill the next month for $416! I nearly choked on my breakfast when I opened the bill. But I filled out a little variance for the leak and guess what came in the mail for our next bill?
We had to pay the $416, but now we have a credit and we won't have to pay another water bill till probably March or April, awesome! I can definitely think of some things I'd rather spend my money on then water.
What did I learn? If you have a really high water bill, try filling out a variance form, you just might get some money back.

Random Wednesday
When I went to take these pictures, and got the tri-pod out, Baby Fox, ran to where I normally take the pictures, pushed all the strollers and toys out of the way and posed for the camera...he's such a ham!
Okay and now onto my outfit. You've seen me wear this shirt before, but I haven't done an official outfit post on it. So here it is.
And now onto some Random Things:
Microwave Saga - They told us it would ship in two weeks, we finally wrote them and said we never got a shipping confirmation, they wrote back and said it wasn't going to happen for another 3 weeks at minimum. So we went out and bought a cheap microwave, we just couldn't do it any more...seriously, two weeks is one thing, but 6 weeks...a whole other story! It was so glorious to have a microwave again...I commend people who don't have one!
I've been wanting to start a Valentine's project now for a week, but haven't mustard up the energy to do so, it just involves paint, what could be harder, nothing, so I'm going to start it tonight...by telling you guys I'm making myself accountable, so maybe, just maybe I'll get it done!
I got 7 hours of sleep last night and it was glorious! Note to self: when you get more sleep, you actually wake up refreshed and not ready to go back to bed. Must do that more often...
Speaking of sleep...you know you blog too much and stalk too many people when you start having dreams about them being in your everyday life. For example, last night I had a dream that I went to a mom's group and sitting there was Shanna! Just to let you know, she was just as nice in my dream as I would imagine she is in real life, and equally well dressed. I think she was wearing a red blazer and some sort of colored jeans and boots.
Happy Hump Day, I only have one more day left of work, woo hoo! Off on Monday, off on Friday, three day work week, I'll take it!

Weekend Recap
So this past weekend (including Friday and Monday) I was under the weather, so I didn't do anything, like no facebook, email, blogging, nothing. Seriously, I laid on the bed, then laid on the couch, then back to the bed, then back to the couch. Mr. even got all of my food. I caught up on my DVR shows...which was a LOT. Before Baby Fox, I watched too many shows, but I had the time to watch them. Now? I have the same amount of shows, but only have about 4 hours a week to watch them, sooooooo I have a huge back log and if a show gets canceled I just delete all of the episodes that I have recorded. Why watch, if it's not coming back next year?
Because I was out, two pictures got taken this weekend. Mr. took Baby Fox to his swim lessons on Sunday and then to a party for one of his work friends, and then to a childrens museum. It was a busy day and Baby Fox has the bruises to prove it.
At the party, Mr. tried to teach Baby Fox how to climb...
This is Mr. before kid.
Baby Fox is rocking it, and doesn't even need a belay rope, already passing up Dad...Maybe Baby Fox can teach us a few pointers.
So Baby Fox and Mr. had a ton of fun on their guys day out. Except for whatever reason Baby Fox kept falling...on his head. When they got home, I could see it from across the room.
Yep, this pictures is making that big bump on his head look GOOD. And you're not seeing the huge bump/concrete scrape on his forehead under his bangs. Funny story, before the big bump on the right, Mr. was going to hide the other bump with his bangs and then wait for him to fall and then blame me for letting him fall and getting hurt. Then he got the BIG bump and couldn't hide that.
Anyway, I'm better now and pictures/posts should resume like normal.

Guess How Old I Am?
I had a different post ready for this morning, but couldn't pass this up. Apparently my former self, that's the Foxy part of me, is 50+ years old. Want to know how I know this? I got this in the mail yesterday. What is AARP you ask? This is their definition:
AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, with a membership of more
than 37 million, that helps people 50+ have independence, choice and
control in ways that are beneficial to them and society as a whole
Please excuse the awful hair, it was taken this morning at 5am, apparently I didn't brush my hair that well. |
Note: Since this was sent to my maiden name, we think it has something to do with my identity being stolen 7 years ago...yep full on stolen, got letter in the mail from the IRS stating I needed to pay $10K in taxes and we had 15 days to fight it...10 days before we got married, it was awesome.
Another note: Yes I open mail at 5am, why not? No really, I read the clock wrong and got up 10 minutes before I normally do, and decided to open mail to pass the time before I had to leave to catch my van. Might as well be productive. Mr. wasn't so happy that I was sorting mail and going through it, he said it's too early to go through mail, I disagreed, he threw his mail on the ground (seriously, he did, he tossed it over the counter onto the ground in protest, point taken Mr., point taken. NO really, I think he was tossing it over to his other pile of mail on the counter and missed)
